The team potency are related to the members belief in effectiveness of the team, while the social support is the person´s belief in getting support from his social network. As for the subjective welfare it shows how a person is satisfied with his own life. This research had the participation of 249 teenagers from 53 teams. Each team was made up of three to seven members and their average age was 13,85 years old (SD= 1,86), and 57,4 per cent was male. The research happened among scout troops whose centers were located in Belo Horizonte and Contagem, Minas Gerais. The method used was a questionnaire that each scout should fill in. It had three scales which measured the three variables of this study. The results demonstrated that the social support perception and the team potency influenced positively and significantly the teenager subjective welfare, however, team potency was not able to moderate the relationship between social support perception and subjective welfare. The teenagers kept levels of social support perception and belief in team potency in similar plateaus. Therefore, they enjoyed well-being and mental health, condition that has remained over time. Such evidence assure the role promoter of subjective well-being as well as social support and team potency in individuals mental health.

Začleňování dětí se specifickými sociálními a vzdělávacími potřebami do skautských oddílů / The Inclusion of Childern with Specific Social and Educational Needs to Scout Units

Všianská, Anežka January 2017 (has links)
(in English) The Master's thesis "Inclusion of Children with Specific Social and Educational Needs to Scout Units" focuses on the integration of children with special needs into the specific environment of the Czech-scouting organisation Junák. It comprises of a theoretical and an empirical part. The first one describes basic theoretical concepts of children integration and inclusion and summarises the current situation in the Junák organisation. The empirical part presents a research, which unlike previous works describes the process of integration from the perspective of three key subject groups: children with specific needs, their parents or foster parents and Scout leaders. The data has been gathered by the means of semistructured interviews, question forms and on-site observation. The aim was to identify how the integration process works and to gather the opinion of individuals representing the three target groups about the factors influencing the process of integration in Scout units. This thesis presents several aspects considered as key by each of the subject group. From the children perspective, a successful integration depends on their ability to find friends among the other members of the units. For their parents and the units' leaders, communication and active cooperation between all...

Robinson, Diana Lynn 01 January 2004 (has links)
This project offers a nature program that can be implemented into youth camp programs. Outdoor Residential Camp programs offered by youth organizations provide an outdoor camp experience for many children in the communty. Many offer participants resident summer camp programs which is a perfect venue for the outdoor experience. Children exposed to outdoor experiences develop a greater sense of responsibility to the natural environment around them. The schools are not doing enough to educate youth about the natural environment. This project was written specifically for the Azalea Trails Girl Scout Camp located in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California however, it could be adapted to be used at any residental camp setting.

The following study has as objective to problematize the scouts practices lived, in the city of Campina Grande - PB, in the decades of 1980-1990, reflecting about the discipline of the bodies and the building of identities in the scout groups (General Sampaio, Santos Dumont and Batiruté). Thus, based on the analysis of oral sources, in the files documentation of the referred scout groups, in the records of the Union of Scouts Brazil, photographs and newspapers, we reflect as an educational movement thought to the reality of young Englishmen of the early twentieth century, has attracted many children to their ranks in the city of Campina Grande, in the decade of 1980-1990, nearly a hundred years after its creation? Assuming that the Scout Groups are disciplinary spaces, whose goal is the formation of an educated young, aware of their duties and availabilities to society, we reflected on the implementation of the Scout Method, seen in our work as a mechanism whose function is to discipline the body, mind and emotions of the scouts. We also analyzed the symbolic practices that pervade the scouting, responsible for establishing cohesion and sense of belonging among scouts members seeking the construction of a common identity. To achieve this research, it was discussed as some authors, like FOUCALT (1987) and his theoretical reflections on disciplinary power, BOSI (1994) and HALBWACHS (1990) on the memory, HALL (2005) who gave us allowance to discuss the production of identities, Chartier (1990) and his analysis of the social representations, Certeau (1994) on resistance tactics, among others.

MUSILOVÁ, Renata January 2007 (has links)
In my work, I focus on education, primarily the education in the leisure time. I deal with nature and its possitive influence on people´s progress, the relationship between people and nature, why people take interest in nature, what nature brings them and how it enriches them. I describe the environment in which people spend their lifetime {--} the family, the school and various organizations chosen according to their interests. By using the three above-mentioned educational organizations, Junák {--} the Czech Scout Association, the Pionýr and Sokol Organization, as examples, I describe various approaches of these organizations to education and methods of work with their young as well as adult members. I provide a brief description and comparison of these methods, with respect to the people´s favoured environment, where most of their activities take place. I also analyse their choice of places to achieve their aims, be it nature or the environment created by people.
