Roteiros sexuais de transexuais e travestis e seus modos de envolvimento sexual-afetivo / Sexual scripts of transsexuals and transvestites and their ways of affective-sexual involvement

Rafael Alves Galli 07 June 2013 (has links)
The many facets of sexuality are becoming more visible in society today and two categories that are gaining visibility in contemporary space are transsexuals and travestis. Transsexuals are people who do not identify with their biological genitalia (and their sociocultural assignments) and can, sometimes, use the reassignment surgery to build their expressions of gender in line with their biopsychosocial and political welfare; while travestis are people who identify with the images and styles of genders (masculine and feminine) contrary to their biological sex (male and female), who wish and appropriate costumes and props of such aesthetic; who perform often transformations on their bodies through ingestion of hormones and/or the application of industrial silicone, as well as by cosmetic surgery and prostheses implants, which allow them to be located within a pleasant welfare biopsychosocial condition. Several studies have been conducted with these people as their target. However, there are few that focus on the needs, desires and fantasies of this people regarding the sexual sphere. This study aims to know the sex lives of travestis and transsexuals, emphasizing their sexual practices and sexual scripts. The research has a qualitative methodological approach and uses the Gagnons theory of sexual scripts. Data were collected through the application of semistructured interviews. We interviewed 15 people, with ages between 19 and 58 years old, between travestis, transsexuals who already underwent sex reassignment surgery and transsexuals who didnt undergo the surgery. The interviews were carried out in face to face situation and were audio recorded. The notes filed of the researcher were also used. Later, the interviews were transcribed in full and literally, constituting the corpus of research. The findings were organized in order to capture the ways of organization of sexual life, the kinds of practices and sexual scripts, as well as desires, fantasies, actions and relations that circumscribe them. It may be noted the incorporation of several speeches belonging to Western culture, especially the Brazilian culture, with the top four being: the gender speech, the romantic love speech, the medical-scientific speech and the erotic speech. Some aspects of these speeches are faithfully embedded into the scripts, while others suffer improvisations of each collaborator. These speeches are used to legitimize the feminine condition of each collaborator, as well as to build their visions of sex and of the world. At the interpersonal level, unilateral relationships were characterized at various levels and the element of seduction as a constituent of the scripts of the sex workers collaborators. Penetration practices (vaginal and anal sex) were more emphasized in speeches, followed by oral sex instead of kisses and caresses, which although rarely reported, were quoted as extremely important. It is believed that this study will bring significant contributions to the understanding of the singularities of the sexual life of transsexuals and travestis, as well as for the development of public health policies focused on sexual issues of these people.

Maladie d’Alzheimer et sexualité : scripts et représentations des familles et du personnel soignant / Alzheimer’s disease and sexuality : scripts and representations of families and health professionals

Ory, Lorraine 10 December 2018 (has links)
This dissertation adopts a constructivist and critical approach of the subject “Alzheimer and sexuality”, by focusing on how relatives and health professionals perceive sexuality. Forty-three interviews were conducted among these two groups and analyzed by grounded theory. By combining the sexual script theory with social representation theory, this research presents in a first part a typology of the representations of the people labeled Alzheimer (PLA), that are mainly characterized by abnormalization. The second part shows that the scripts and representations are not used in the same way by health professionals and relatives. While professionals tend to conceive the PLA’s sexuality as problematic, relatives see it as secondary. In a last part, the subjectivities of health professionals and relatives are analyzed in their social context, allowing to shed light on the singularity and the complexity of their individual positions. Eventually, this work highlights the mechanisms of construction of otherness, leading to forms of ageism and validism manifested by the prohibition of PLA’s sexuality, its limitation, or its unthinkable nature.

Design and Development of a Quote Validation Tool for Arabic Scripts

Alshareef, Abdulrhman 20 December 2012 (has links)
Over the past decade, there has been a tremendous development in e-publishing tools. The Arab world tendency towards electronic publishing has facilitated the prosperity of Arabic e-publishing over the Internet. Likewise, it has enabled the ordinary user to deploy documents, letters, opinions, and ideas with freedom and ease of use. Although freedom of expression should be guaranteed to everyone, it may be used to disseminate false or distorted information. This may lead to the loss of ordinary user's confidence in e-content. However, the user's confidence in e-content will increase if the credibility of the content is emphasized. There are many factors that challenge this task including not only the rapidly growth of Arabic digital publishing, the absent from control over electronic content, and the lack of e-publishing regulations and laws, but also how to develop an efficient framework to confirm the digital content authenticity. Therefore, the need to monitor the credibility of Internet content while maintaining freedom of expression to its users has become an urgent matter of debate. A flexible framework needs to be developed that will overcome these issues and allow for a comprehensible and comfortable content validation environment that would satisfy the end users' desires. This thesis proposes a framework that serves to confirm fundamental text authenticity in Arabic scripts on the Internet. This framework will demonstrate the design and the development of new quotes verification algorithm and the necessary components of framework design, development and implementation based on Service Oriented architecture.

La construction des carrières dans une perspective agence/structure : une étude de la construction des carrières humanitaires dans le cadre de la professionnalisation du secteur nonprofit / Understanding the construction of careers in an agency/structure perspective : a study of humanitarian careers’ construction amid the professionalization of the nonprofit sector

Garbe, Emmanuelle 04 December 2015 (has links)
Career theory presents careers as a social phenomenon based on norms and symbolic representations. Few papers have, however, questioned how these norms and representations are built. The aim of this thesis is to answer this question by studying the process of career construction. Arguing for career duality, we propose to understand career construction, and the norms and representations on which they are based as the result of an interplay between individual action and social structure. The thesis is based on a particular theoretical framework, the career script concept and on a particular empirical framework, the humanitarian sector, where career rules and representations are still emerging. We suggest that humanitarian careers rules and representations are encapsulated within three humanitarian career scripts and shows that humanitarian workers and NGOs influence the development of these scripts through a recursive relationship. This thesis analyses the current humanitarian career construction process and highlights some challenges that may affect the continuation of this process.

Les adolescents en situation de témoignage oculaire : d’observations de terrain à l’étude d’un protocole d’audition judiciaire en laboratoire / Teenagers in situation of eyewitness testimony : from field observation to the study of a laboratory judicial audition protocol

Dodier, Olivier 17 October 2017 (has links)
The goal of this thesis was to provide recommendations to any practitioner involved in the justice system to interview adolescent witnesses and/or victims, a population little studied in laboratory analogue contexts. To do so, five studies were conducted. The first two studies were aimed at establishing an inventory of the young French investigators’ witness interview practices. We observed that adolescents are a specific population, in particular regarding the use of suggestive questions. This type of questions increased right after the adolescents had just developed a statement, which was not the case with younger children. This result might reveal that, during investigative interviews with children and adolescents, the investigators have different aims depending on the age of the young witness (Study 1). However, international recommendations strongly discourage the use of suggestions because of immediate and delayed memory biases that may occur. Secondly, we have shown that adolescents represent most of the under legal age witnesses and/or victims in French cases, and that investigators generally perceived them as liars and as easily ashamed (Study 2). A study conducted with military police officers who previously had training in the use of structured interview techniques (vs. untrained officers; Study 3) showed that their use of suggestive questions were related to the belief that suggestive prompts could help the young witness and/or victim retrieve and recall information, but also (and most importantly) allow the investigation to move forward. This was especially observed with untrained military police officers. To deal with these inappropriate practices, we investigated the efficiency of two modified versions of the cognitive interview (MCI). This interview protocol is based on an open (rather than closed or suggestive) questioning style, and proposes effective retrieval strategies. Relying on techniques that promote memory retrieval and recall of information, it could then enhance the adolescents’ statements’ reliability, for these to be used during the investigation. We therefore tested a mnemonic called ‘guided peripheral focus’ (Study 4), which showed its benefits. Indeed, we observed an increase in the recall of correct information (vs. structured interview; SI). However, this was accompanied by an increase in errors. A similar pattern was observed with a shortened version of the MCI (vs. SI) used for repeated events (vs. single event; Study 5). In addition, this last study showed an increase in confabulations with the MCI (compared to a SI, and irrespective of the frequency of the event), but also in confusions between the different events experienced by some of the adolescents. However, these increases in erroneous details did not lead to a drop in the accuracy rate in either study. The results of the five studies will be discussed in regards with the scientific literature, and recommendations to help justice practitioners conduct their adolescent witness and/or victim interviews as appropriately as possible will be provided

Effect of Instructor Choice on Frequency of Prompt Delivery in Classrooms

Donnelly, Rebecca J. 27 June 2019 (has links)
Choice has been demonstrated to have positive effects on behavior like increasing task engagement, positive affect, and accuracy in the completion of tasks. However, the effects of choice have been primarily observed with individuals receiving behavior analytic interventions. It is unknown whether the choice of intervention modality would have similar positive effects on the implementer. Social scripts are a social skill intervention that provides a model of appropriate language through the presentation of antecedent stimuli that increase the likelihood of desired behavior in learners. Social script can be delivered in two different modalities, auditory and textual, which facilitate the choice for instructors for this study. The purpose of the study was to (a) evaluate the effects of multiple available intervention modalities on the frequency of implementation, (b) assess instructor preference of two social skill interventions, and (c) to determine the feasibility of those interventions. The results of this study indicate the multiple choices of modalities did not affect the frequency of implementation but did have an effect on instructor preference. Two instructors in this study showed a mixed preference until the choice was available and their preference switched to auditory scripts. Overall, teachers in this study rated the social script intervention highly. There was a 9.2% increase in acceptability from pre- to post-test.

Instruktioner för det "görande" könet. : Svenska forumanvändares råd och berättelser om nätdejting.

Wetterborg, Victor January 2023 (has links)
