Esta Dissertação analisa o roteiro que gerou a telenovela Cheias de Charme (TV Globo – 2012) pela Teoria Semiótica de Algirdas Julien Greimas (1970), com ênfase no percurso gerativo de sentido, e pela vertente Sociossemiótica de Erik Landowski (1992). Também são utilizados conceitos de produção audiovisual de Doc Comparato (2009), Flavio de Campos (2007), Luiz Carlos Maciel (2003) e Marcos Rey (1997). O texto é dividido em três partes, representando o estado inicial (roteiro 1), transformacional (roteiro 72, meio do texto) e final (roteiro 143, último roteiro) das empregadas domésticas Maria da Penha, Maria do Rosário e Maria Aparecida em oposição a suas patroas Chayene, Lygia Ortega e Sônia Sarmento. Após, através do percurso gerativo de produção de sentido, da Teoria Semiótica Greimasiana, descrevem-se os elementos dos níveis fundamental (relações axiológicas de contrariedade, contradição e complementaridade), narrativo (programas narrativos e modalizações) e discursivo (figuras e temas) do texto. A análise permite estabelecer, através de uma teoria de linguagem, uma relação com aspectos socioculturais e políticos da sociedade brasileira para o impacto na aprovação do Projeto de Emenda Constitucional n° 66/2012 – Lei dos Empregados Domésticos do Brasil. Conclui-se que o roteiro de telenovela brasileira se constitui como construtor e circulador de significados socioculturais do Brasil e que a Teoria Semiótica e a sua vertente teórica Sociossemiótica são adequadas para o acesso a esse texto. / This dissertation analyzes the script that generated the soap opera Cheias de Charme by Rede Globo (2012) based on the Semiotic Theory of Algirdas Julien Greimas (1970), with emphasis on the generative path of meaning and the Sociosemiotic view of Erik Landowski (1992). Concepts of audiovisual production are also discussed based on Doc Comparato (2009), Flavio de Campos (2007), Luiz Carlos Maciel (2003) and Marcos Rey (1997) theory. For this, the text is divided in three parts representing the initial state (script 1), the transformational state (script 72, middle of the text) and the final state (script 143, last part of the text) of the housemaids Maria da Penha, Maria do Rosário and Maria Aparecida in opposition to their bosses Chayene, Lygia Ortega and Sônia Sarmento. Then, through the generative path of meaning production of the Greimasian Semiotic Theory, the elements of the fundamental (axiological relations of contrariety, contradiction and complementarity), narrative (narrative programs and modalizations) and discursive (figures and themes) levels of the text are described. The analysis allowed to establish, through a theory of language, a link of sociocultural and political aspects of Brazilian society and their impact on the approval of the Constitutional Amendment Project n ° 66/2012 – Law of the Domestic Employees in Brazil. It is concluded that the Brazilian soap opera script constitutes a constructor and circulator of sociocultural meanings of Brazil and that the Semiotic Theory and its Sociosemiotic line are suitable to access this textual genre.

A Teoria dos Registros de Representação, de Duval, compreende e analisa a peculiaridade dos objetos matemáticos, acessíveis através de suas diferentes representações. Fischbein e Hershkowitz, entre outros teóricos, desenvolveram as noções de Imagem Mental e Imagem Conceitual como a interpretação de um dado conceito matemático por um sujeito. Esta dissertação estabelece conexões entre estas duas discussões teóricas e, a partir disto, faz uma proposta de ensino para alguns conceitos de Geometria Analítica através do uso dos registros dinâmicos no software GeoGebra. A proposta, na forma de sequência didática, foi implementada em turma do terceiro ano do Ensino Médio de uma escola da rede particular de ensino do município de Porto Alegre. A análise da produção dos estudantes estabelece diálogo constante com os referenciais teóricos escolhidos. É uma pesquisa, sob a forma de estudo de caso, que busca investigar como ocorre o processo de aprendizagem de Geometria Analítica através utilização do software GeoGebra no ensino e aprendizagem de matemática, apresentando e discutindo os resultados obtidos de modo a contribuir para esta área de pesquisa. / The Registers of Representation Theory, from Duval, understands and analysis the peculiarity of mathematics objects, accessible through its different representations. Fischbein and Hershkowitz, among others researchers, developed the notions of Mental Image and Conceptual Image to explain the construction process of mathematical concepts by the subject. This dissertation establishes connections between these theories and uses this approach to propose a didactic sequence for teaching some concepts of Analytic Geometry using dynamic representation offered by the GeoGebra software. The proposal was implemented in a 3rd grade private high school. The research is a case study. The analysis of students’ production establishes constant dialog with the theoretical approach and presents results that can be a contribution to research in the area of dynamic representations and learning of school mathematics.

Este trabalho traz uma pesquisa feita com alunos do 3º ano do Ensino Médio de uma escola da rede privada da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre, na qual o objetivo foi analisar as contribuições do software GeoGebra no estudo da circunferência, transitando entre diferentes registros de representações semióticas, algébrica e geométrica, e utilizando parâmetros para chegar a raciocínios generalizados. Para a realização desta pesquisa, foi utilizado o estudo de caso como metodologia. A coleta de dados se deu por meio de observações da professora/pesquisadora, questionamentos sobre as atividades trabalhadas no GeoGebra, registros escritos feitos pelos alunos e dos arquivos com extensão .ggb. Foi criado um website com a sequência das atividades aplicadas em sala de aula e os trabalhos finais produzidos pelos alunos, nos quais o uso de parâmetros foi utilizado no GeoGebra, com o intuito de levar os alunos a compreenderem os elementos da equação da circunferência, generalizar o raciocínio e reconhecer as representações gráfica e algébrica do mesmo objeto matemático. A análise dos dados coletados aponta a importância desta ferramenta ao ter instigado reflexões nos alunos que os levaram à compreensão da circunferência e das relações existentes entre os registros geométrico e algébrico, desencadeando o processo de conversão entre estes registros, e assim, proporcionando aos alunos o conhecimento global do objeto de estudo. / This work presents a survey carried out with 3rd year high school students from a private school in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre, in which the objective was to analyze the contributions of GeoGebra software in the study of circumference, passing between different registers of semiotic representations, Algebraic and geometric, and using parameters to arrive at generalized reasoning. In order to carry out this research, the case study was used as methodology. Data collection was done through teacher/researcher observations, questions about the activities worked on GeoGebra, written records made by the students and the files with extension .ggb. A website was created with the sequence of activities applied in the classroom and the final works produced by the students, in which the use of parameters was used in GeoGebra, in order to get students to understand the elements of the circumference equation, generalize the reasoning and recognize the graphical and algebraic representations of the same mathematical object. The analysis of the collected data points out the importance of this tool in having instigated reflections in the students that led them to understand the circumference and the existing relations between the geometric and algebraic registers, triggering the process of conversion between these registers, and thus, knowledge of the object of study.

Magister Artium - MA (Linguistics, Language and Communication) / Fairy tales have been changing continuously. From the likes of the Greek and Chinese versions of the Cinderella tale, Cinderella has been transformed into other versions. Charles Perrault and The Brothers Grimm had their way with the story of Cinderella with both parties putting their own mark on the tale. Disney made the story notorious as the consumers mostly tend to remember Disney's version and not earlier writers of the story (Zipes, 1999). Since then, various other versions in the current sphere of story-telling, especially through movie-making, have had a series of re-telling of the story. James Finn Garner's "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories" has made its mark in the world of politically correct, versions of fairy tales. He has graced readers with his satire and thereby challenged the more traditional versions of the story of Cinderella (and others) by posing a dry, humorous twist and facing the 'issues' which underlie the social problems in Cinderella such as equality, sexism and patriarchal, inappropriate gender biased terminology. Garner takes it upon himself to remediate the story of Cinderella through transformations of events and socially structured power relations, reworking the plot and characters and reformulation of gender-biased terminology. This results in a witty politically correct remodelling of the story which upholds a general moral in line with the contemporary socio-political ethos, championing usage of politically correct language.

O Rappa, apesar de ser uma banda de pop rock, tem um importante destaque no cenário HIP HOP e o CD Lado B Lado A, de 1999, aborda um tema extremamente relevante para a sociedade acadêmica e para a sociedade como um todo: a violência urbana. No CD, sob o jugo das leis do tráfico de drogas, a população das favelas e dos morros cariocas que convive com leis impostas pelos traficantes, como a lei do silêncio, por exemplo, tem outros problemas: de um lado a polícia, representante do Estado, que sobe os morros em carros blindados (caveirão) e que tem se mostrado ineficiente no combate ao tráfico, utilizando uma política ostensiva, que deixa como saldo um alto número de mortes. De outro lado tem a milícia que, de forma organizada e extraoficialmente, cobra propinas em troca de segurança. A banda, através de seu enunciador, leva o grito das ruas para os palcos e as letras, quase todas compostas por Marcelo Yuka (fora da banda desde 2002), tiveram essa missão. Com forte apelo político, as canções protestam contra a desigualdade social e retratam a vida de quem está à margem da sociedade. Todas as canções de Lado B Lado A serão examinadas para evidenciar as estratégias utilizadas na construção do sentido de unidade desta obra. Veremos, pelo olhar do enunciador, como se estabelecem as relações entre os moradores, a polícia e o narcotráfico nas favelas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro e mais especificamente na comunidade do Engenho Novo. É imprescindível mostrar que a violência urbana não é uma célula separada do restante da sociedade, e ainda que aparentemente esteja confinada aos guetos e periferias somente, atinge a sociedade como um todo. Lado B Lado A descortina um pouco dos bastidores que ficam escondidos no pé do morro vigiado por fuzis AR15 e garotos/sentinelas. Além disso, é um importante documento dos bastidores das periferias brasileiras e mais um estudo sobre a produção musical dos anos 90. A metodologia utilizada será a teoria de analise semiótica, a partir dos instrumentos de análise propostos por Algirdas Julien Greimas. E também será utilizada a teoria de análise da canção, desenvolvida por Luiz Tatit. / Rappa, in spite of being a pop rock band, has an important profile in the hip hop scene, and its 1999, Side B Side A, touches on an extremely important theme to the literary society as well as our society in general: the urban violence. This CD exposes the laws imposed by the drug lords to the shanty town people from the hills of Rio de Janeiro, who have to live with them, like the law of silence, for example. This creates a whole set of problems. On one side, the police, representing the government, who drives through the hills on armored cars (caveirão), has proven to be ineffective, in spite of its ostentatious methods, which leave a bloody trail of deaths. On the other side, there is the organized and undercover militia, which demands bribes from the inhabitants in exchange for security. This band brings these cries from the streets to the stage, and the lyrics on this CD, almost all written by Marcelo Yuka (who left the band in 2002), accomplished their mission. With a strong political appeal, the songs denounce the social inequality and portray the life of societys outcasts. All songs from Side B Side A will be scrutinized to show the evidence of the writing strategies employed to unify this work. We will look, through the composers eyes, how the relationships between the inhabitants, the police and the traffickers are established in the shanty towns in Rio, and more specifically, in the Engenho Novo community. It is mandatory to show that urban violence is not an isolated scenario. Regardless of the fact that it seems confined to the ghettos, it actually affects the whole fabric of the society. Side B Side A unveils the hidden back stage events guarded by AR15 guns and sentry boys on the hills. Moreover, it is an important document not only of the Brazilian outcasts but also of the research on the musical production of the 90s. Esta pesquisa traz um estudo sobre a construção inicial dos conceitos de limites e taxa de variação, com alunos do segundo ano do Ensino Médio da Escola Antônio de Castro Alves. Como metodologia utilizamos a perspectiva do Estudo de Caso (PONTE, 2006). O trabalho propõe a utilização do software Tracker Physics, que possibilita a análise de objetos em movimento gravados por vídeo a partir de diferentes registros gerados pelo software, tais como gráficos, tabelas e registros algébricos. Com o uso deste software e da teoria de Duval, procuramos responder à seguinte pergunta norteadora: como os alunos do Ensino Médio compreendem os conceitos de taxa de variação e de limite a partir de objetos em movimento analisados com o Tracker Physics? Por tratar-se de objetos em movimento, utilizamos a Física como meio para trabalharmos os conceitos matemáticos. Antes de chegarmos ao debate sobre limite e taxa de variação, a proposta levanta questões acerca da interpretação de gráficos, tabelas, equações e cálculos numéricos, que não são o escopo principal do trabalho, mas que são importantes para o processo de construção dos conceitos propostos, e a análise dos dados aponta resultados interessantes. Os dados da pesquisa são analisados à luz da teoria dos Registros Semióticos de Duval. Podemos apontar, ao final da pesquisa, que os alunos avançaram na compreensão dos conceitos abordados nas situações apresentadas e analisadas. / This research brings a study about the initial construction of the concepts of limits and rate of variation, with students of the second year of High School of the School Antônio de Castro Alves. As methodology we use the case study perspective (PONTE, 2006). The work proposes the use of Tracker Physics software, which enables the analysis of moving objects recorded by video from different records generated by the software, such as graphs, tables and algebraic records. With the use of this software and Duval's theory, we try to answer the following guiding question: how do the students of the High School understand the concepts of rate of variation and limit from moving objects analyzed with Tracker Physics? Because we are dealing with moving objects, we use Physics as the means to work on mathematical concepts. Before we reach the debate about limit and rate of variation, the proposal raises questions about the interpretation of graphs, tables, equations and numerical calculations, which are not the main scope of the work, but which are important for the process of construction of the proposed concepts , And the analysis of the data points interesting results. The data of the research is analyzed in light of the theory of the Duval Semiotic Registers. We can point out, at the end of the research, that the students advanced in understanding the concepts addressed in the situations presented and analyzed.

In today’s medialized society we are fed with a constant flow of advertisements, no matter where we are. In these advertisements we see skinny and retouched ideal bodies, especially female bodies. The images shown in the media are the reference frameworks for the human body and in many cases, a conservative social order is propagated where women must exhibit an attractive exterior. This is a social problem for many women all around the world, and the work to counteract these tight ideals is called body activism. This study aims to investigate which different discourses prevail over the fight against body anxiety between different users on Instagram in order to broaden the understanding of how body anxiety is counteracted.   The theoretical framework begins with theory and previous research on postmodern feminism and continues with studies related to digital feminism. Subsequently studies on female bodies and their ideals are presented, as well as the shame that is often linked to the norm-breaking body. Finally, the objectification and observation of the female body is presented. The critical discourse analysis is used in combination with a semiotic analysis to examine both image and the text that is linked to it. We have used Faircloughs three-dimensional framework for studying discourse as well as semiotic analytical tools such as connotations and mythologies.   In conclusion of this study, we have interpreted these discourses about the struggle of body anxiety as a way of eventually changing the social norms and structures that prevail today. This has been done in different ways by different people, but with similar focus and goals. These people have shared their own experiences in the hope of spreading a body-positive mindset to their readers.

The purpose of the research is to identify how pupils and teachers experience different kind of study material in school. It is also important to know which factors affect these experiences. This is what my study will examine. The key-factor to be able to interpret different kinds of multimodal literacy is to understand its textual genre. Pupils and teachers need a certain level of technological skills to be able to create multimodal text and to have an estimation of the purpose of different text genres. To analyze the research material a hermeneutic method is used with a phenomenographic focus of the experience that the survey data and interviewed informants provide for the research. Results shows that some experience is similar between the teachers and pupils concerning the different study materials, then again preference might differ when it comes to preparations for tasks or lectures. Something all informants agree upon, is that the computer as digital tool is positive since it is used in every subject in school and it is never lost or forgotten at home by pupils.

Como sói acontecer aos grandes movimentos intelectuais que propõem rupturas por relação às epistemes anteriores, o estruturalismo assumiu algumas posturas radicais, em grande medida responsáveis pela conquista de sua independência científica. Uma delas consistiu na despsicologização da linguagem. Por outro lado, esse gesto fundador não tardou a ser contestado por diversas disciplinas que consideravam o ponto de vista estrutural demasiado redutor para lidar com os objetos das humanidades. Sucede que a rápida ascensão e queda desse movimento dificultou a assimilação de suas principais ideias: do centro da cena, o estruturalismo rapidamente foi relegado aos bastidores da pesquisa em humanidades. Disso resultou a pasteurização do estruturalismo quando, no verdade, ele se desdobrou em diversas frentes, muitas vezes contraditórias entre si. Esta tese está embasada em uma interpretação da teoria da linguagem de Hjelmslev que, ao contrário das leituras correntes, considera seu modelo teóricoepistemológico como uma base estrutural aberta à abordagem dos elementos transcendentes às linguagens, como é o caso da subjetividade, ainda que sempre sejam regidos pela imanência. A vertente tensiva dos estudos semióticos, cujo principal idealizador é Claude Zilberberg, é um exemplo dessa abertura. Valendo-se da base teóricoepistemológica hjelmsleviana, mostra a produtividade de seus pressupostos diante de fenômenos tais como a subjetividade, pertencente à dimensão sensível, e o acontecimento. Tendo por objetivo último aprofundar os estudos do sujeito semiótico, esta investigação enfrentou um terreno espinhoso diante das exigências dessa categoria de análise, que parecer enjeitar os limites excessivamente formais que lhe foram impostos quando de sua formulação na semiótica francesa. Ela exige um aumento de sua espessura em troca de compartilhar os segredos dos mecanismos de significação que permitem entender suas propriedades subjetais. Inicialmente concebido como coincidente com as ações que efetua, o sujeito logo reivindica a presença de um destinador que justifique sua emissividade, e das forças antagonistas que sustentam sua remissividade. A explicação das funções que contrai com os demais actantes vai solicitar o desenvolvimento da teoria das modalidades que, por sua vez, exigirá a ampliação de sua potencialidade dentro de um quadro passional alargado. Partindo de uma relação eminentemente solipsista entre um sujeito e um objeto separados por um abismo amorfo, o sujeito semiótico vai paulatinamente galgando um estatuto de categoria intersubjetiva. Um salto nesse sentido foi operado por C. Zilberberg, notadamente a partir de sua formulação tensiva, interdependente, entre as dimensões sensível (subjetiva) e inteligível (objetiva) da significação. Entretanto, a elaboração de seu modelo teve sempre uma orientação global, de sorte que não se debruçou especificamente nas demandas particulares do sujeito. Considerando os avanços que a vertente tensiva propicia para a abordagem do sujeito semiótico e tendo partido de uma episteme assumidamente apoiada na estrutura , seu quadro teórico-metodológico será empregado nesta tese para o aprofundamento do exame do sujeito. / As it often happens with important intellectual movements that intentionally breaks off from well established episteme, structuralism assumed some rather radical standpoints which paved the way for the acquisition of much of its scientific autonomy. One of those would be the depsychologisation of language. It did not take too long though for this seminal move to be contested by many other disciplines who claimed it was a reductive point of view which would never prove itself capable of dealing with human sciences objects. It turns out that this movements swift rise and fall from the spotlights down to backstage in academia, would hinder the assimilation of a number of its core postulates. As a result many fertile findings were lessened and stereotyped. By the time all this was happening, however, structuralism as a whole was changing from the inside and giving way to new forms of itself, with some of them opposing all others. This work is based upon the particular perspective of L. Hjelmslev theory of language that, contrarily to commonplace understandings of it, takes his theoreticalepistemological model as an open structural basis for language transcending components, like subjectivity, however still ruled by immanence. The tensive rendering of semiotic studies whose originator is C. Zilberberg illustrates this perspective. Standing by the Hjelmslevian theories and methods, these studies reveal how effective they are when dealing with phenomena like subjectivity (a notion implied by the sensible dimension) and events. Aiming at investigating the semiotic subject in deep, the present work goes through this conceptual no-mans land while facing the subject category outward resistance imposed by a life-long formulation rooting out in French semiotics. This category claims for some notional broadening in exchange for sharing the secrets of the meaning mechanisms leading to grasp its subjective properties. Once conceived as a support vessel for actions to happen, the subject has soon claimed the presence of a sender, to justify its emissivity, and of contending forces supporting its remissivity. The study of the functions holding among the subject and the other actants will require further developments from the theory of modalities which will in turn yield the widening of the subject onto a broader passional context. Coming from an essentially solipsist relationship between subject and object separated by formless void, the semiotic subject now goes patiently up toward an intersubjective category status. A bold move in this direction has been achieved by Zilberberg, specially with his tensive interdependent formulation between the sensible (subjective) and intelligible (objective) dimensions of meaning. Nevertheless, on elaborating his model he always had the global picture in mind, henceforth leaving aside particular requirements of the semiotic subject. Relying on the contributions put forth by tensive studies on the semiotic subject and willingly rooted in structural episteme its theoreticalmethodological tools will be put to use in the present work in order to deepen the contemporary investigation on the semiotic subject.
