Anderson Ibsen Lopes de Souza 12 February 2009 (has links)
Bueno de Riveraâs poems present, on the compound of their characters, a high concern about the ontological factor, always searching for the human beingâs description, as by the lyrical view, through intimate and subjective poetry, as on his everyday, exposing him as a being-with-the-others, immersed in society, besides presenting his anguish and piety with the human raceâ suffering. This poetry combine with the postulates of Martin Heideggerâs ontological-existencialist philosophy, once it analyses the human beingâs life from the point of view of the anguish from the conscience of the death and the quarrel about man, investigating the being-there â term that indicates the humanâs existence, as well as with the being-with-the-others â, helping our understanding about the analyzed poetâs thoughts. Trying to comprehend the subjectivity on Riveraâs poems, we will analyze some of the Leitmotive chosen by him to develop his poetry, investigating the symbols and inquiring carefully the ideas. We believe that Bueno de Riveraâs poetry is a permanent searching for the unveiling of the human being from his own and the place in which he is inserted, in an inquisitor looking for everything that transforms him in man, that is, in a being single and social, at once.

Blazquez Gandara, Carolina 31 January 2021 (has links)
Intertextuality is a key aspect in the poetry of Blas de Otero (1916-1979), an engagement with other poets as well as with his readers. It is a powerful tool that he uses to create a polyphonic voice that challenges the discourse of power. One of the fundamental figures in this polyphony is the Peruvian poet César Vallejo (1892-1938), whose poetry deeply affected the work of Blas de Otero. Both Vallejo and Otero shared similar temperaments and ideologies, and believed that intellectuals had a responsibility towards society. By examining the way that Vallejo’s España aparta de mí este cáliz (1938) informs Otero’s Pido la paz y la palabra (1955), this dissertation reopens the question of the social role of art, focusing specifically on the so-called “poesía social” of Spain during the 1950’s. It also explores the role of the reader and the circulation, often clandestine, of Vallejo’s poetry during Francisco Franco’s dictatorship. Lastly, by focusing on Blas de Otero as a reader of Vallejo’s work, this dissertation shows that the specific characteristics found in Vallejo were fundamental in making him one of the most influential poets in Franco’s Spain. Aware of the uniqueness of Vallejo’s poetry, Otero transformed the Peruvian’s word and made it his own, shaping a compelling language that suggests new realities and defies oppression.

A poética social de Patativa do Assaré / The Social Poetic of Patativa do Assaré

Nogueira, Renata de Carvalho 18 May 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this dissertation is to present an interpretation of six poems from the Brazilian Countryside\'s poet Patativa do Assaré, starting from a study his social expression, bearing in mind the occuring complaint and contestation elements in his verses. Being a farmer from the countrysde of Ceará, the poet observed and lived the harsh reality of Northeast of Brazil, recognizing himself, this way, as a spokesperson of his own people. Having this view of a solidary and fair world, the poet documents the suffering and substandard life conditions of the people of Northeast. The degree of conscience that is hidden behind his position, many times considered as rustic or obsolete, is clear in verses in which the poet points out the lack of the government as the main responsible for the lack of progress in Ceará\'s countryside, differently from the mainstream media that stigmatises the region due to weather factors, clearly, the drought. Patativa do Assaré highlights the perverse relation between privilege and deprivation as a factor that triggers the imbalance and inequality. Thus, his poetic is determined by a clear antagonic pillar, in which the social issues are configured according to the social classes opposition. Based on this premise, it is proposed an analysis of the relevent social character of the critical poetry of Patativa do Assaré, still not very discussed in the Academy.

There are several ways of reading poetry. One of them is to make use of a prior tool as a guidance to the reading. The guidance, presented in this study, has a particular purpose: to be a reading tool designed to highlight some aspects of Ferreira Gullar’s poetry. Considering one of his poems namely Poema Sujo there ware identified some features which may be found in many other poems by Ferreira Gullar. These features were considered as part of the poetic space and indicated as body, furniture, grocery, city, planet, solar system, galaxy and universe. Such elements are present in poems in his books, for instance, Dentro da noite veloz (1975), Na vertigem do dia (1980), Barulhos (1987), Muitas vozes (1999) e Em alguma parte alguma (2010). We analyzed the Poema Sujo in which it was able to notice the poetic images considered relevant to spatial, sensory, memory and political elements of the poems. We have included his latest book called Em alguma parte alguma. For the analysis we have used the assumptions of Jacques Derrida concerning the spectrality that is the presence of a ghost that causes trouble or threatens; the space understood as a built space by Milton Santos; and also the theoretical assertiveness of João Luiz Lafetá regarding Ferreira Gullar’s changes in trajectory from a writing concerned about metaphysical issues to a poetry closely connected with social issues.

Katalánsko během frankismu v raném díle Pera Gimferrera / Catalonia during Franquism in the early work of Pere Gimferrer

Pušová, Alena January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the early work of the Catalan poet Pere Gimferrer, in which the elements of Franco's dictatorship and restrictions are examined. Special attention is paid to the poem The Deserted Space (L'espai desert), in which Gimferrer responds more explicitly to the Francoist regime in Catalonia, and the philosophical topic of this poem is also partly described in the thesis. Furthermore, the work depicts the history and politics of the Francoist period from 1939 to 1975 and deals with the specific problems of restriction in Catalonia. The thesis also focuses on literature in the period of Franquism and the new aesthetic poetry of the Novísimos group to which Gimferrer belongs and which wanted to break free from the long- standing social poetry condemning the political situation after the civil war. At the same time, the thesis proves that Gimferrer does not completely abandon the social poetry, because the elements of the Franco's dictatorship can be found in his poems.
