Dvasinės lyderystės raiška Lietuvos verslo organizacijų kultūroje / Expression of Spiritual Leadership in the Culture of Lithuanian Business Organisations

Katilienė, Rasa 05 December 2014 (has links)
Forming and Supporting Lay Catholic Elementary School Principals as Spiritual Leaders

Barisano, Erin C.O. 01 April 2017 (has links)
The role of a Catholic school principal is complex and includes promoting Catholic faith and spirituality throughout the school community. The additional job requirements of spiritual leadership are intentional formation for prospective and novice principals and efforts to sustain spirituality for experienced principals. This qualitative study explored the perceptions held by experienced lay elementary principals of their role as spiritual leader as well as how prepared they felt to serve in this role. Additionally, the study explored suggestions for sustaining principals in their role as spiritual leader. Participants were six lay Catholic elementary principals working in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Data were collected in the form of written reflections, interviews, and a focus group. There were three rounds of written reflections and interviews. A focus group was conducted after the three rounds of data collection. Initial analysis was conducted by identifying emerging themes for each research question. The Four Pillars of Jesuit Leadership Framework was used to discuss the findings. Findings indicated the need for formation and training programs for lay Catholic elementary school principals specifically focused on their role as spiritual leader. Additionally, principals need more supports and opportunities to renew themselves to continue serving as spiritual leaders. These findings support the need for the archdiocese to take responsibility for training and forming lay principals as this responsibility is beyond the scope of the Department of Catholic Schools.

The perceived impact of spiritual consciousness on leadership performance

Nicholls, Tanja 10 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceived impact of spiritual consciousness on leadership performance. The assumptions of several leadership theories were discussed in relation to spirituality and performance. The leadership qualities associated with performance were highlighted and evaluated. The present study was conducted with ten high performing leaders of private-sector organisations in Johannesburg, South Africa. Qualitative analysis of quantitative and qualitative data was performed. Psychometric assessment results were interpreted and evaluated, semi-structured interviews were conducted and 360 degree questionnaires were administered with the intent to evaluate leadership behaviours impacting on performance. The first part of the interview consisted of a section allowing the participant to tell a story of how their career developed over time. The second part of the interview contained questions pertaining to leadership, the qualities, characteristics and behaviours of successful leaders and those qualities and characteristics that have resulted in their own success followed by questions pertaining to the participant’s perception of spirituality, their experience of spirituality and the perceived link to performance, and lastly their view on spiritual leadership and the impact thereof on performance. The findings suggest that leaders who demonstrate spiritually conscious behavioural traits will likely be regarded as high performing leaders. The relationship between spiritual consciousness and leadership performance was described in detail and recommendations were made for the the implementation of a spiritual consciousness model in the selection of leaders. Confirmative empirical studies with a larger sample are needed to support the findings and to further explore this interesting phenomenon. / Psychology / Ph. D. (Consulting Psychology)

Andligt ledarskap : en studie av tre konstruktioner

Kjellman, Rikard January 2023 (has links)
ABSTRACT  The aim of this thesis is to explore notions of spiritual leadership in a church environment and how conceptions of spiritual leadership are discussed and presented by the three different authors, all clergy and scientists, Jackson W. Carrol, Tone Stangeland Kaufmann and Karin Johannesson.  The conceptions of spiritual leadership is analysed through the theoretical perspective provided by Linda Trinkaus Zagzebski in Exemplarist Moral Theory. Spiritual leadership is discussed as a conception based on both an inner experience and behaviour in relation to its social and societal environment. According to the findings in this thesis, the virtue ethics of Exemparist Moral Theory provides opportunities to propose a suitable conception of spiritual leadership based on the use of exemplars from the biblical narrative, making active use of Scripture and its suggestions of egalitarian behaviour. It also presents some challenges discussing how inner and subjective experiences of spirituality manifests itself in actions, how it is to be regarded from an egalitarian perspective plus a recurring question of whether the presented conceptions are exceptional enough to stimulate emotions and be consequently admired.  The findings in this thesis, through the perspective of Exemplarist Moral Theory, therefore indicates a certain direction for spiritual leaders in church which is to act virtuous in accordance with the biblical narrative, with Jesus Christ as its foremost exemplar. Keywords: Spiritual leadership, exemplar, virtue, Jackson W. Carrol, Tone Stangeland Kaufmann, Karin Johannesson.

Andligt ledarskap i Svensk kyrklig kontext : Hur beskriver åtta kyrkoherdar i ett norrländskt stift sitt andliga ledarskap i Svenska kyrkan

Hafstad-Eriksson, Marie January 2016 (has links)
This is a study of spiritual leadership to examine the spiritual leadership in the Swedish church. I have interview eight priests about their work as a spiritual leader. Some of them worked in the north of Sweden in small communities. Others work I community nearby a bigger city in north of Sweden. They are all leaders of the staff in their church and I find that they had too much administrative work to do and some felt that they didn`t have enough time for the spiritual leadership. They all say that Jesus Christ was their ground and the new testimony. They all thought that a spiritual leader should inspirit and support people, some of them thought about their own church and the people around were like their ships and they will help and look after everybody. Some of them though to be a spiritual leader is a work and when they didn`t work their own family was the most important. Spiritual leadership can be to inspire and support other people.

Living the divine spiritually and politically : art ritual and performative/pedagogy in women's multi-faith leadership

Bickel, Barbara Ann 11 1900 (has links)
In a world of increasing religious/political tensions and conflicts this study asks, what is the transformative significance of an arts and ritual-based approach to developing and encouraging women’s spiritual and multi-faith leadership? To counter destructive worldviews and practices that have divided people historically, politically, personally and sacredly, the study reinforces the political and spiritual value of women spiritual and multi-faith leaders creating and holding sacred space for truth making and world making. An a/r/tographic and mindful inquiry was engaged to assist self and group reflection within a group of women committed to multi-faith education and leadership in their communities. The objectives of the study were: 1) to explore through collaboration, ritual and art making processes the women’s experience of knowing and not knowing, 2) to articulate a curriculum for multi-faith consciousness raising, and 3) to develop a pedagogy and methodology that can serve as a catalyst for individual and societal change and transformation. The co-participants/co-inquirers (including the lead researcher as a member of the group) are fourteen women, who practice within eleven different religions and/or spiritual backgrounds, and who are part of a volunteer planning team that organizes an annual women’s multi-faith conference (Women’s Spirituality Celebration) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The aesthetic/ritual structure of the labyrinth served as a cross-cultural multi-faith symbol in guiding the dissertation, which includes three art installations and four documentary DVDs of the process and art. New understandings found in the study include: 1) the ethical sanctuary that a/r/tography as ritual enables for personal and collective change to take place within, 2) the addition of synecdoche to the renderings of a/r/tography, assisting a multi-dimensional spiral movement towards a whole a/r/tographic practice, 3) a lived and radically relational curriculum of philetics within loving community that drew forth the women’s erotic life force energy and enhanced the women’s ability to remember the power of the feminine aspect of the Divine, and 4) the decolonization of the Divine, art and education, which took place as a pedagogy of wholeness unfolded, requiring a dialectic relationship between restorative and transformative learning.
