<p>Syfte: Vi kommer i denna promemoria försöka skapa en förståelse för hur det är att driva ett nystartat företag samt vad som påverkar företagaren/företaget under de första åren.</p><ul><li>Vad tycker företagare att de kan stöta på för utmaningar under de första åren?</li><li>Hur utvecklas ett företag och vad kan hända i det under de första åren?</li></ul><p>Metod: Det är den kvalitativa metoden och det hermeneutiska synsättet som har använts i denna uppsats. Vidare har vi arbetat med primärdata insamlad från intervjuer på ett induktivt arbetssätt. Teorin har insamlats från litteratursökning på högskolan i Gävles bibliotek samt genom internetsökningar. Analysen har skett genom en jämförelse mellan empiri och teori. Sedan har diskussionen om analysen samt slutsatser redovisats i efterföljande kapitel följt av egna kommentarer samt lärdomar.</p><p>Resultat & slutsats: Vi har genom uppsatsen sett att empiri och teori delvis stämmer överrens med varandra. Dock har vi kommit fram till att empirin inte helt stämmer överrens med det teoretiska materialet om entreprenörskap. Det viktigaste vi har kommit fram till är att läran om entreprenörskap bäst erhålls genom empiriska studier i stället för teoretiska.</p><p>Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Begränsningar i uppsatsen är bland annat att forskningen endast representerar ett mindre urval företagare samt teoretiska källor. För framtiden vill vi se en djupare och mer omfattande forskning för att se om våra slutsatser trots begränsningarna är korrekta.</p><p>Uppsatsens bidrag: Inom uppsatsens problemområde ser vi att praktisk kunskap är mycket mer givande än teoretisk, när man driver ett företag. Uppsatsen visar för utbildningsorganisationer samt intresserade att den teori som finns i dagsläget ej är komplett. The discussions about the analyze and the final result have later on been shown in the following chapters followed by our own comments and what we've learned.</p><p>Result & Conclusions: From writing this essay we've seen that empirical and theoretical data partly tells the same. Our final results have shown us that empirical and theoretical data of entrepreneurship doesn't correspond to each other. The most important aspect of entrepreneurship is given through empirical studies instead of theoretical studies.</p><p>Suggestions for future research: Some of the limitations in this essay are that the research only represents a minor selection of corporate and theoretical sources. For future studies we want to see a deeper and wider research to see if our conclusions, though the restrictions, are correct.</p><p>Contribution of the thesis: Within the approach of the essay we have seen that practical knowledge is more giving than theoretical, when running a corporation. For educational organizations and those who are interested in the subject, the theoretical data that is known today aren't complete. With that said the education to be an entrepreneur should be led by those who are running a company and not through theoretical data and/or not by those who lack competence.</p>

Analysis and Reduction of Parasitic Effects in Induction Motors With Die-Cast Rotors

This thesis presents a study of inter-bar current effects on induction motors with die-cast aluminium and die-cast copper rotors. The parasitic effects introduced by these currents are analyzed and possible solutions to these problems are presented. This is realized by developing analytical tools for the simulation of inter-bar current effects. The methods used are verified by measurements on prototype machines. It is shown that the inter-bar currents can have a considerable effect on the motor starting performance, which can result in a reduced pull-out torque. At rated operation, this is seen as increased harmonic rotor currents, having a negative effect on the motor performance. Results from calorimetric measurements show, that the efficiency gained when substituting a skewed die-cast aluminium rotor with a skewed die-cast copper rotor, is less than the theoretical expectation. It is shown that this is a result of a reduced power factor for the copper rotor. High inter-bar currents are believed to be the origin of this effect, increasing the harmonic content in the rotor magnetomotive force. This would be seen as an increased rotor leakage reactance. Results from locked-rotor tests, and simulations using measured values of inter-bar resistance, support this theory. It is shown, that these negative effects are suppressed to a negligible level by the use of an unskewed rotor, but to the expense of a large synchronous torque at a low speed. By using a modulated rotor concept, having an asymmetrical rotor slot distribution, an unskewed rotor is designed to reduce this parasitic torque. Measurements on a prototype machine show that the modulated rotor suppresses both the inter-bar currents and the synchronous torque, resulting in an improved starting performance, without any significant change of the motor efficiency. The presented results strengthen the potential of the modulated rotor concept, introducing new possibilities for the reduction of negative effects appearing in induction machines. / <p>QC 20130320</p>

Remittances and the level of small and madium sized enterprise start-ups

This thesis within economics is examining the impact that remittances could have on the level of new small and medium sized enterprise start-ups. Remittances could be seen as a capital flow and would therefore increase the level of new SME start-ups but is this really the case? A model is developed with a panel data set over 45 countries all across the globe over a two year period. Six businesses environment variables are included in the regressions to see how the businesses environment affects the level of new SME start-ups. This model is also used when testing if the relationship between remittances and the level of new SMEs are stronger in the middle income countries than in the lower income countries. The descriptive statistics shows that both remittances and the number of new SME`s have increased from 2003 to 2005. The level of new SME`s have increased with a larger percentage share in the middle income countries relative to low income countries. The results from this thesis are somewhat difficult to interpret. Although there seems to be the case that remittances are not affecting the level of new SME start-ups when including all the countries in the same regression. As the countries are divided into two groups one can see a stronger relationship between remittances and the level of new SME started in the low income countries than in the middle income countries. One can also see that credit right and the cost of starting a new business is strongly related to the level of new SME.

Basic terminology regarding the discussed issue is described in the theoretical part, particularly explaining certain concepts from the business sphere as well as concepts related to both beer and the mini-brewery. The next part contains a particular procedure. I intend to deal with more in the practical part. The practical part then specifically refers to the market situation detected through several analyses, such as STEP analysis, SWOT analysis and competitor analysis, and also includes the considered company´s marketing plan. An integral part of the thesis is a simplified financial analysis, which allows to determine whether this type of business is actually feasible.

Adubação nitrogenada e densidade de semeadura em soja / Nitrogen fertilization and plant population for soybean

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / In cultivars with a cycle shorter than 120 days it is known that there is a relationship between the speed of canopy closure and the grain yield. Aiming at a better initial growing and consequently a quickest canopy closure the aim of this study was to determine the effect of starting rates in genetically modified soybean cultivars in the late sowing and with a cycle shorter than 120 days. Experiments have been performed during the 2009 late sowing in Santa Maria, RS, Brazil. The cultivars used were A 6001 RG, FUNDACEP 53RR and BMX Apolo RR in the sowing density of 250 and 500 thousand viable seeds ha-1. The applied nitrogen rates were 0, 15 and 30 kg of N ha-1 as urea. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four replications with cultivars in the main plot and sowing density in the subplots and nitrogen rates in the sub-subplots. The covering rate was evaluated in two different periods of the cycle, in the full flowering and grain filling period, yield components and grains yield. It was not possible to show the effect of the starting rate for any of the cultivars in the tested conditions. For the yield variable there were differences between populations and cultivars. In the average of the three cultivars the population of 500.000 plants ha-1 showed better productivity with 3068 kg versus 2821 kg ha-1 in 250.000. On the other hand, among the cultivars, FUNDACEP 53RR obtained better yield followed by BMX Apolo RR and A 6001 RG. The right choice of the genotype with more suitable sowing is fundamental for soybean to obtain higher yields in the late sowing in Rio Grande do Sul. / Nas cultivares com o ciclo menor de 120 dias sabe-se que existe uma relação entre a velocidade de fechamento do dossel e o rendimento de grãos. Visando a um melhor crescimento inicial e, por conseqüência um fechamento mais rápido do dossel, o objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar o efeito de doses de arranque em cultivares transgênicas de soja semeadas na safrinha e com ciclo menor do que 120 dias. Foram realizados experimentos durante a safrinha agrícola 2009, em Santa Maria/RS. As cultivares utilizadas foram A 6001 RG, FUNDACEP 53 RR e BMX Apolo RR nas densidades de semeadura de 250 e 500 mil sementes aptas ha-1. As doses de nitrogênio aplicadas foram 0, 15 e 30 Kg de N ha-1 na forma de uréia. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso e quatro repetições, sendo cultivares na parcela principal e densidade de semeadura nas subparcelas e doses de nitrogênio nas subsubparcelas. Foi avaliada a taxa de cobertura do solo pela cultura da emergência até a floração, índice de área foliar em dois momentos distintos do ciclo, no florescimento pleno e enchimento de grãos, componentes do rendimento e rendimento de grãos. Não foi possível evidenciar o efeito de dose de arranque para nenhuma das cultivares nas condições testadas. Para a variável rendimento ocorreu diferenças entre populações e entre cultivares. Na média das três cultivares a população de 500.000 plantas ha-1 apresentou melhor produtividade com 3068 kg ha-1 contra 2821 kg ha-1 em 250.000. Já entre as cultivares, a FUNDACEP 53RR obteve melhor rendimento, seguida da BMX Apolo RR e A 6001 RG. A escolha correta do genótipo com a densidade de semeadura mais apropriada, é primordial para que a soja possa obter rendimentos mais elevados na safrinha no Rio Grande do Sul.

Considering that need, this research has studied the practices which were developed by those professionals of the group for continuing education of mathematics teachers in starting years of elementary school . In addition, the goal of this research is also understand the professional skills that were learnt from those practices and also the influence of public policies on that process. The actions of this research were guided by the following questions: How does a teacher group from a public school in São Paulo state develop themselves through a process of thinking, study and analysis of their practices of teaching and learning mathematic during starting years of elementary school? What are the influences of public policies, problems and internal difficulties of schools in that process? The research methodology adopted for answering those questions was a study case, developed within a qualitative approach It using the following tools for taking relevant data for the research: participant observation, asking, narrative and semi-structured interview during the working time. Taking a process of multiple readings, organization and understanding the meaning of data it was possible to built two emerging analysis categories: 1. Practices of teacher education and 2. Influences public policy. The theoretical study covering two main areas: the continuing teachers training and professional development. Authors such as Freire (1979, 1986, 1994 and 1996), Nóvoa (1992), Charlot (2000; 2005), Nacarato (2000; 2003; 2005), Fiorentini and Nacarato (2005), Bozzini and Oliveira (2006) and Imbernón (2006, 2009) we tried to understand the continuing education focused on school, from the mobilization their professionals, based on group reflection, in the reorganization of the HTPC and in research perspective with teachers. By the way, Mizukami (1996), Ponte (1998), Passos et al. (2006), Gama (2007) and Hargreaves et al. (2002) helped us with discussions of professional development. The results indicate that when there is the existence of a favorable environment, like the one examined by this research facilitates the process of continuing education, enhances professional development and contribute to teachers training needs. The main characteristics of this favorable environment are the mobilization of school professionals in meeting the challenges and domestic needs, the support of school management in the development of training practices and the presence of the external agent during the meetings of the study group at school, to share knowledge, experiences and to promote collective reflection on teaching practices of mathematics in the early grades of elementary school. / Diante da complexidade da profissão docente e dos desafios de suas práticas, surge a necessidade constante de formação. Considerando tal necessidade, a presente pesquisa investigou as práticas desenvolvidas pelo grupo de profissionais de uma escola pública estadual paulista para potencializar espaços coletivos que promovam a formação continuada de seus professores sobre o ensino da Matemática nas séries iniciais, bem como o desenvolvimento profissional decorrente dessas práticas e as influências das políticas públicas nesse processo. As ações da pesquisa foram orientadas pelas questões: Como um grupo de professores da rede pública estadual paulista se constitui e se desenvolve profissionalmente mediante um processo de reflexão, estudo e análise de suas práticas de ensinar e aprender matemática nas séries iniciais do ensino fundamental? Quais são as influências das políticas públicas, dos problemas e dos desafios internos à escola nesse processo? Para a construção dos dados foram utilizados os instrumentos: observação participante, questionário, narrativa e entrevista semi-estruturada durante a realização do trabalho de campo. Mediante um processo de múltiplas leituras, organização e atribuição de significados aos dados foi possível constituir duas categorias emergentes de análise: 1. Práticas de formação docente e 2. Influências das políticas públicas. O referencial teórico desta pesquisa compreende dois grandes temas: a formação continuada de professores e o desenvolvimento profissional. Autores como Freire (1979; 1986; 1994 e 1996), Nóvoa (1992), Charlot (2000; 2005), Nacarato (2000; 2003), Fiorentini e Nacarato (2005); Bozzini e Oliveira (2006) e Imbernón (2006; 2009) auxiliaram o entendimento da formação continuada centrada na escola, a partir da mobilização de seus profissionais, apoiada na reflexão em grupo, na reorganização dos espaços da HTPC e na perspectiva de pesquisa com os professores. Por sua vez, Mizukami (1996), Ponte (1998), Passos et al. (2006), Gama (2007) e Hargreaves et al. (2002) fundamentaram as discussões sobre o desenvolvimento profissional. Os resultados indicam que quando há a existência de um ambiente favorável na escola, como aquele que foi analisado por esta pesquisa, facilita o processo de formação continuada, potencializa o desenvolvimento profissional e contribui para o atendimento local das necessidades de formação dos professores. As principais características desse ambiente favorável são a mobilização dos profissionais da escola no enfrentamento dos desafios e necessidades internas, o apoio da gestão escolar no desenvolvimento das práticas de formação e a presença do agente externo nas reuniões do grupo de estudos na escola para compartilhar saberes, experiências profissionais e promover a reflexão coletiva sobre as práticas docentes em relação ao ensino de Matemática nas séries iniciais do Ensino Fundamental.

Análise comparativa do desempenho de um motor de indução trifásico tradicional e um motor de indução trifásico assimétrico com alimentação monofásica

The main objective of this work is to perform a comparative study between a three phase induction motor squirrel cage traditional and asymmetrical three-phase induction motor. Were used two motors of the same power, the motor being powered by an asymmetrical voltage source phase. In the studies we investigated the behavior of various quantities such as yield, starting current, voltage sags, power factor, and the power supplied by each machine. With the results obtained from practical experiments, it was found that the asymmetric motor features a number of advantages over traditional engines, which makes it an excellent choice when the application requires the drive loads of high power and not has a three-phase supply. / O objetivo principal deste trabalho é realizar um estudo comparativo entre um motor de indução trifásico do tipo gaiola de esquilo tradicional e um motor de indução trifásico assimétrico. Foram empregados dois motores com a mesma potência, sendo o motor assimétrico alimentado por uma fonte de tensão monofásica. Nos estudos foi investigado o comportamento de várias grandezas como rendimento, corrente de partida, afundamentos de tensão, fator de potência, bem como as potências fornecidas por cada máquina. De posse dos resultados obtidos através de experimentos práticos, pôde-se constatar que o motor assimétrico apresenta uma série de vantagens em relação aos motores tradicionais, o que o torna uma excelente opção quando a aplicação exige o acionamento de cargas de potências elevadas e não se dispõe de um sistema trifásico de alimentação. / Mestre em Ciências

This diploma thesis deals with sensoric analysis of the selected types of durable meat products depending on the production technology. By sensoric assessment and subsequent statistic analysis, this diploma thesis pursues to compare fermented durable meat products, made without added starting cultures, with fermented durable meat products, made with added starting cultures, and to determine which of these kinds of products are preferred by the evaluators as well as the consumers. The theoretical part of this thesis summarises the conclusions arising from the sensoric analysis of the food, including its conditions and statistical evaluation, sense perception generally and the technology of the production of fermented durable meat products. In the practical part, the applied method and results of the performed twin preference test are described. Samples of the durable meat products of the major domestic producer of the durable meat products, commonly distributed and accessible in the trade network of the Czech Republic, were used for the purpose of evaluation.
