Hälsa och motivation i gymnasieelevers skolmiljö : - en intervjustudie / Health and motivation in A-level student´s college environment : - an interview study

Jovannelli, Sofia January 2006 (has links)
Abstract Title: A-Level students’ perspective on their own health and motivation in their college environment. Author : Sofia Jovannelli Supervisor : Monica Naeser The purpose of this essay was to gain a deeper understanding of how A-level students perspective is on their own health and motivation. Which different factors does the A-Level students´ consider affect their own health and motivation in their college environment? Through the use of qualitative interviews with six A-level students their view on their own health and motivation was investigated. To gain a deeper factual and theoretical basis to the research questions, I also investigated some earlier studies. The central frame of interpretation of this study is the theory about KASAM, and earlier research in this field. In the writing of this essay it has emerged that the people´s health is influenced in both a positive and a negative way during their school years depending on factors such for example stress related to school work. It has emerged in the interview process that students view their college time and their college work as meaningful despite the stress some of the students can feel.. Furthermore the interviews have shown that all whom were interviewed were satisfied with their time at A-level college on the whole. This research’s findings directly matches those of the earlier studies about health and motivation, as the interviews show that a predisposition for psychological well-being and a positive development is that you live in a comprehensible environment with appropriate demands on the students, and the possibility to influence one’s own situation.

Andersson, Marie, Stalerova, Marina January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis was to investigate how school personnel experience available student support. The study was conducted at a school in western Sweden, using interviews with six participants from the school personnel. Participants in the study were six people with different professions at the school where the professions: school nurse, school curator and teachers were included. The method used was a qualitative method. There are very few research reports that highlight issues of availability of student health, from a personnel-related perspective with the qualitative research method. With quantitative research method, there are more available research reports but they are still relatively few. This study resulted in six different themes that describe how and to what extent school personnel feel that they are available to students. This essay for the most part used the term student health, which includes the work of school personnel involved for the students’ well-being, both physically and mentally, following existing laws and regulations. The essay concludes with a discussion on essential elements and ideas about future work with these issues.

Vestergren, Agneta January 2015 (has links)
Early intervention is important on different levels and must be justified as a social and economic long-term investment. There is no doubt about the importance of early detection when helping children/students in need of support. What kind of support that is deemed suitable and who provides the support can be viewed from different perspectives and with different approaches. Seen from a relational perspective the special education process is a long-term process and affects not only the individual but the whole school culture and systems may need changing. This study intends to describe the importance of the learning environment and what efforts are initiated early for students in need of support from the special education point of view. As part of this, a study of a student health project was made. A triangular method of investigation was used, with document studies, questionnaires and interviews. This has been done in consultation with promoters and linked to the background by previous research but also for active educators and special educators. Although the result showed that the relational perspective is relevant to the work of early intervention in the learning environment, the categorical perspective often is associated with the concept of early intervention, both in theory and practice

Skolsköterskans erfarenhet av att arbeta med elever som har sammanhängande frånvaro / School nurses experience of working with students who have coherent absence

Hafström, Anna, Halmearo, Carina January 2017 (has links)
Background: More and more students are wholly or partially absent without valid reasons from the schools teaching even though there is compulsory attendance. There are many factors that affect a student being absent, these can be categorized into psychological, social/family and educational. Student health should be part in the efforts to promote attendance, where students in need of support can be identified early. The school nurse holds the knowledge of health, health problems and mental illness and know how to integrate this into the work and working as a link between the students, parents, school and external contacts. Aim: The aim of this study was to examine school nurses experience of working with students who have coherent absence Method: A qualitative research method was used for this study. Ten school nurses were interviewed using e-mail surveys which have been analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The study resulted in three main categories: School nurses get notice about students with absence, School nurses work with absent student and to cooperate. Conclusion: School nurses work with absent students is done through cooperation with other professions following the current routines and plans for action. School nurses are not directly involved with these students but school nurses frequently work as the collaborative link when contacting other professionals internal and external due to these students.
