But the researches show that the universities nowadays come working of a very limited form in the education of the statistics, making that they leave classrooms as professionals with low preparation about this topic and how to work, therefore the majority of the mathematics professors had crystallized in their practical knows little on statistics and the proposals of the PCN for the education of this topic. The proposal of this work is applied in an inquiry that will involve professor and pupils of average education. Verify if this educator would teach its pupils to solve a list with elaborated problems to understand average; medium; mode; standard deviation; quartiles and graphs as it would proceed after some adjustments considered about the Technician, Mobilized and Available. After the preparation of the professor and the results of this preparation have been implemented in its classroom, as the pupils would answer the list proposal to the test, and in which level of conceitualization considered for Robert (1998), these pupils had surveyed / Os Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais (1997) incluíram conteúdos de estatística no ensino Fundamental e Médio como parte do programa disciplinar de Matemática, que foi muito importante para que houvesse mudanças no ensino da Estatística, o fato levou as editoras a uma preocupação maior quanto ao ensino deste tópico, assim, passaram incluir a Estatística de uma forma um tanto mais elaborada em seus manuais e o professor de matemática vem refletindo sobre sua prática.

There is a growing demand for places to study and graduate in computer science. Therefore a great effort is needed to improve the quality of educational process adopted by the academic institutions. The aim of this research is to analyze the planning procedures employed by the computer science course of a public school and to propose a new way of teaching, which will certainly reach better results in the teaching and learning process. In order to achieve this, we brought up a conceptual framework (CF) to support the didactic planning process of all the subjects related to the computer science course. In this research it was applied a qualitative approach, enforced nature, in an exploratory purpose. The procedures adopted were based in an experimental research. Fifteen teachers and fifty one students, from that public school, participated in the study. As a result the findings showed the behaving profile of the students, their capacity of learning and their multiple intelligence skills. There is also an analysis of the present scenario taking into consideration the different ways of planning and conducting classes. Based on data from that research it was pointed out the need of improvements in the last two aspects. However, it was prepared the framework of the CF proposed and it was given an example of its use and, finally, experiments using it were carried out by the professors. As positive results came out, the possibility of including the CF as part of class plan in that public school is real / Atualmente, na área acadêmica em computação, enfrentam-se vários desafios, dada sua importância, sua inserção nas demais áreas de conhecimento e os avanços das tecnologias digitais da informação e comunicação. The research had the following Objectives: a) Identify the facilities and difficulties found out by the teachers-students from the courses of post graduation named: Technologies and Distance Education and DE and the New Technologies ; through the research in the apprenticeship virtual ambience; b) To analyze the leading principles of pedagogic practical linked to the process of the knowledge construction and the way that the drill named: Scientific Research Methodology, contribute to the formation of the searching student meanwhile he or she is the producer of the knowledge. The starting conceptual point was framed by making the interlacement between technology and curriculum, while the literature revision concentrated about the knowledge history, the research as an educative principle and as a scientific principle. The investigation that is characterized by the case study enabled to form the two analyze categories: teaching and learning by searching and autonomy in the conception of Paulo Freire. To explain the collection instruments it was used the analyze of the contents inside the deposition of the twenty-one teachers-students and the eight teachers of the discipline Methodology of Scientific Research and Orientation of the Works to the Course Ending, the purpose of understanding the confrontation and the virtual and real challenges of the research subjects. During the development of the research it was observed that some barriers must be overcome by the students so as by the teachers, among them it is detached: a) Plagiarism; b) Reading lack; c) Understanding of that searching is much more than use Copy and Paste Keys; d) The culture absence that the student learn something, mo matter if it is in the virtual or in the real way; e) Resistance to the new; f) Dialoguing when writing the didactic materials; g) The virtual distance by itself what doesn‟t allow the eye by eye between who learns and who teaches. By ending the present study it was tried to show that educate or learn by searching, specially in DE, it should give to the student, the object of apprenticeship, the development of his or her autonomy supported by an educative proposal that allows the critical reading of the world, in the view of making a social and political construction that leads students and teachers to freedom / O estudo que ora se apresenta, insere-se na linha de pesquisa: Novas Tecnologias em Educação, do Programa de Doutorado em Educação: Currículo da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.

Vilalta, Luis Antonio 11 December 2012 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-27T14:31:02Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Luis Antonio Vilalta.pdf: 1525738 bytes, checksum: 65b9294f3bb8e19d3ecfc9bec5ecdba5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-12-11 / The objective of the present thesis is to answer the following research question: What are the concepts and characteristics that identify the internationalization process in Brazilian Universities? To obtain the desired data, an exploratory, qualitative research was developed using a multiple case study approach, conducted with four Brazilian Privately Owned College Institutions. It was employed investigation techniques in document analysis and focused interviews. The results reveal a new internationalization concept and the identification of some characteristic of this process at the researched universities. Results indicate that all studied institutions have in their strategies the creation and structuring of an international office as a basic condition to start an internationalization process to cope with market demands. Regarding teaching and research, the predominant characteristic is the student formation for his or her professionalization, notwithstanding the reduced focus on research. Mobility is the main theme in the internationalization process; therefore, it characterizes a growing tendency of the periodic half year or annual student international exchange. The researched college institutions diverge in relation to payment and credit validation formats. Another common characteristic is that the four researched universities are still in an initial internationalization process / Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo responder ao seguinte problema de pesquisa: Quais os conceitos e características que identificam o processo de internacionalização em Universidades Brasileiras?

No. of bitstreams: 1 dissert Camila Rieger.pdf: 1178838 bytes, checksum: b4e17000e085d2feb68e516253126d4d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-08-11 / This work has as its main theme the academic education of the Interpreter of Sign Language (ISL) in acting as a mediator of communication among teachers and deaf students in regular public institutions. It presents some considerations about barriers faced by the ISL when dealing with technical and scientific terms related to specific subjects that are not part of their current vocabulary or find no equivalent in sign language and how their academic skills contribute to the erect these obstacles to the process of interpretation. Starting from the author´s experience, graduated in pedagogy, acting as an interpreter of Portuguese/Libras ( acronymous to Brazilian Sign Language) in a subjects for Exact Sciences, this research seeks to broaden perspectives on issues related to the training path of ILS and their work at the educational institutions. Initially it is presented an analysis of articles published in the National Research Congress Proceedings in Translation and Interpretation of Libras and Portuguese with attention to those articles whose theme is the training of ILS. This analysis highlights the lack of discussion of the training activities for acting in science teaching as a way to overcome language barriers found in the act of interpretation. In order to analyze the detachment between the knowledge acquired by the ILS in action during their training (initial or ongoing) and the subjects of the areas of Exact and Natural Sciences, it was proposed a questionnaire answered by the ILS from the cities of Foz do Iguaçu and Cascavel. The analysis of the questionnaire answers it is observed that the academic education of ILS focuses on Humanities courses and that, whether in postgraduate level or other training processes, there is no attention to training for acting in subjects of Exact Sciences.

Moral education & the ethic of care

Hutchinson, Jacquelyn 24 March 2009 (has links)
This thesis proposes that moral development, specifically teaching students to be caring and compassionate, should be a goal of high school education. The research sought evidence of moral education taught explicitly within the public high school system of Canada’s English-speaking provinces using four indicators: graduation requirements, provincial governments’ purposes of education, high school curricula and school division mission statements. Findings reveal that although departments of education and school boards express concern for students’ moral development in educational goals and supplementary programming, there is very little follow-through to the classroom and students. No graduation requirements or courses were found pertaining to moral education. Using key search terms it was also determined that any related curriculum content, embedded in other subjects, constitutes only minor portions of courses. Recommended is an increase in mandatory moral education at the high school level, focusing on interpersonal relations and the ethic of care. / May 2009

Learning to Teach in Another Language and Culture

Robinson, Alison Robyn January 2010 (has links)
The special learning needs in Initial Teacher Education of international postgraduate students whose own education was linguistically and culturally different to that of New Zealand students are often unacknowledged and under-researched. This qualitative study, based on narrative inquiry, presents case studies of six participants from six different countries, languages and cultures. The findings point to challenges faced by pre-service teacher education students from other languages and cultures. Tensions created by language difficulties, new pedagogies and social and educational cultural differences lead to feelings, at times, of disorientation, heightened “otherness” and unease. Students who are crossing the border between one culture and pedagogical belief system to another require specific support. This study did, however, find evidence of students developing new understandings about teaching and learning. The findings carry implications for the content, delivery and pedagogy of Initial Teacher Education programmes. The introduction of a Foundation Course and a Support Group, modelling of good practice by ITE lecturers using a variety of interactive teaching strategies and targeted reflective practices are suggested. In a time of teacher shortages, changing demographics in schools and the changing nature of university-based ITE it is important that the assumption that one size fits all in ITE all needs to be put aside. From the perspectives of social justice and acceptance of diversity it is timely to pay attention in ITE to the learning of students from other languages and cultures. This study suggests ways of moving towards this goal.

Barns interaktion vid "lärplattan" : Barns positioner ägare, åskådare och deltagare / Children's interactions at the "learing pad" : Children's location's, owners participants and spectators.

Brun, Micaela January 2014 (has links)
Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine how children interact with each other and what social positions they assume when using the learning pad. The social positions reffered to is the Owner, the Participant and the Spectator, defined by Ljung Djärf (2004). According to Ljung Djärf (2004), the Owner is defined as the one in control of the mouse and keyboard. The Owner is expected to be in charge of what is happening on the screen. The Participant is typically found on a chair near the computer. The role of the Participant is to support the Owner by suggesting how to proceed regarding the task that is being worked on. The last position is the Spectator, the child also found near the computer passively observing what is taking place on the screen. The position of Spectator may have been self-selected by the child or assigned by the owner. In order to answer the research question of this thesis, an observation study was identified as the appropriate empirical data collecting method. In the analysis of the data, the children was divided into groups based on their level of skills. Children with more skills and knowledge regarding the technology. Children with better reading skills Children with greater skills in using the learning pad and previous experience of the game used during the observations   These skill groups emerged when the results would be analyzed and those affected the resolut.
