Vilela, Anna Paulla Artero January 2019 (has links)
Abstract: The teachers’ school environment has been becoming a locus of illness and other forms of suffering for teachers in the face of a precarious context in contracting forms and degradation of teaching work. This research sought to perform an analysis of working conditions and forms of illness that affect the teachers of the official education of São Paulo state, causing some to come to the union of the category (Sindicato dos Professores do Ensino Oficial do Estado de São Paulo - APEOESP) in order to file lawsuits against the State of São Paulo. The analysis area was the State of São Paulo, with the analysis of the teacher union's database, referring to legal processes related to illness and violation of non-respected labor rights. The analysis showed that the illness occurred in the work environment in most of the studied cases. In addition, it is possible to verify that Laws, Decrees and Resolutions may be contributing significantly with the aggravation of the health conditions of the teachers. In this way, it is convenient to discuss how the teacher union has acted in facing these problems, its institutional difficulties and struggles so that it can satisfy the existing demands in this scenario. / Mestre

Cluster system : an innovative network for teacher development.

Mphahlele, Lydia Kgomotso. 22 October 2014 (has links)
D. Tech. Education / The effectiveness of teacher development has been a concern for decades in South African schools. Linked to this, is the lack of or no innovative networks that is dependent on quality of teachers and continuous professional growth is an essential part of improvement in the quality of teaching. However, in this study it has emerged that professional development for teachers is unsatisfactory and has not met its intended purpose. Research indicated that the ineffectiveness of teacher development programmes is based on faulty assumptions or even no research at all. This study aimed to investigate a new paradigm on how cluster systems as innovative network could enhance teacher development to improve quality teaching because of the major obstacles perceived in its implementation.

Professional support for teachers in primary school of Konekwena area, Limpopo.

Thamaga, Junius Sebata. January 2012 (has links)
M. Tech. Education / Transformation in the education system of South Africa brought new trends in education on policies, curriculum and teacher education. The educational reforms resulted in the negative implications to all role players in the teaching profession, as well as quality of teaching and learning programmes. Quality support services, at all levels of the new educational system, were, and continue to be in great demand for sustainability and development. This research provides an analysis and critique of the role of school management support teams with respect to the professional support and also prescribed by White Paper 6 of 2002. The aim of this research is to investigate the provision of professional teacher support and the role of teacher support teams or school management of the programme.

The design of a virtual community of practice to facilitate communication, information and knowledge sharing amongst art educators in Botswana junior secondary schools.

Sibanda, Den Bushdoctor. January 2009 (has links)
Newly qualified educators in Botswana face many challenges not least of which occurs when they are posted to rural schools a distance from other teachers and information resources. The Government of Botswana has committed itself to enhancing the ICT infrastructure for use in both the economic and educational endeavours of the country. Research conducted in first world countries show that Communities of Practice can take place in a virtual environment and that these can facilitate knowledge sharing and management. This research was conducted to investigate if a Virtual Community of Practice (VCoP), guided by the educational theories of Constructivism and Connectivism, could facilitate information and knowledge sharing among art teachers in dispersed location in the Botswana context. Using Reeves and Hedberg’s (2003) Development Research model, 13 art teachers, who were located in different parts of the country, participated in knowledge sharing through a Virtual Community of Practice. This study analysed the specific needs of art educators, interrogated the literature for best practices, formed a VCoP, and analysed how participants used it and reports on their comments The research findings indicate that educators would be enthusiastic about the use of such a facility if there was a perceivable benefit especially in breaking down the geographical induced communication barriers that they face at the moment. The research does not propose the replacement of existing face-to-face workshops, meetings and other communication fora, but rather suggests a VCoP can complement them by allowing discussions to continue beyond such meetings. It is contended that a carefully structured and supported VCoP can improve information and knowledge sharing significantly among educators and other stakeholders in Botswana. / Thesis (M.A.)-University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, 2009.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Aline Teotonio Marques.pdf: 757170 bytes, checksum: 23f31bd482bb13a166c08cd91805af52 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013-03-26 / There are many studies which show the importance of considering emotion/affection in the teaching-learning process as emotion and cognition are inseparable. Accordingly, this paper discusses the relationship between emotion and education through the works of Chilean biologist Humberto Maturana, analyzing how education students (majors and pedagogy) relate to the thrill teaching. For Maturana, the emotion is not restricted to the affective aspect or even subjective or psychic states, nor is it a feeling. It is, above all, in the ways of action, an observing subject construction from a fundamental constitutive emotion, thus structuring, and that drives all other human actions. The author brings the emotion and education as a shift in paradigm which regarded the body and mind as fragments and begins to understand the human as a whole, as a complex that is realized in language and rational, beginning from the emotional. This research sets longitudinal side view research of the program "Social Representations of majors and pedagogy on the teaching work", which is done by the International Center for Research on Social Representations and Subjectivity - Education (CIERS-ed), between 2006 and 2011, under the coordination of Professor. Dr. Clarilza Prado de Sousa. Starting from the assumption that the discursive production of survey reveals how in the world they are located and how they understand their own formation, the present study had analyzed the Database in systematic Research Program to examine, even in indirectly way, how students understand the emotion in teaching. For this purpose, we used data of free association, classification and multiple interviews that, although they have not been concerned directly address the issue of affection and emotion, they allowed an analysis on that direction. The results indicates to a teacher training that see the emotion in teaching, but the training still feel sistress when thinking about the relationship of education.

Produção e/ou produtividade: discutindo o trabalho na universidade / Production and/or productivity: discussing work in university

Marcia Cavalcanti Raposo Lopes 02 February 2006 (has links)
This paper focus teacher work in Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Trying to amplify the analysis, initially, it discusses the relations subject-work in the contemporary society. Following, it studies the university, its functions and the transformations that it has been passing in the later years in Brazil. The extern and intern evaluation systems as a control instrument of the academic processes are also object of analysis. After that, the research is developed in two different stages. The first one discusses the teacher work transformations in UERJ in the last two decades, considering the Career Plan implanted in 1991 and the Incentive to Scientific, Technical and Artistic Production Program (PROCIÊNCIA) introduced in the university in 1995. For that, it analysis university documents, university counsel registers and depositions of teachers involved in these processes. The second stage tries to approach of the quotidian and the questions posed, today, by the professors about their work process. This last is developed from three different procedures: in a first moment, interviews with teachers are analyzed; in a second moment, datum collected and talks taken place during a day accompanying teachers in their work in the university are discussed and in a third moment, a virtual correspondence of a e-mail group created for debating the functioning and the problems of PROCIÊNCIA is examined.
