Learning experiences in the forests around Freiburg (Germany)

Lewark, Siegfried 21 June 2019 (has links)
The study programme of forest sciences was established at the University of Freiburg in 1920 - the main reason named for the choice of Freiburg was the diversity of forests around the city, which would serve for leaming in the forests as well as for research. These forests today mostly belong to the City of Freiburg and the State of Baden-Württemberg. The forests closest to the university may be accessed on foot, by bicycle or tram. The forests around Freiburg are suitable for leaming experiences in virtually all subjects of the forest related study programmes and have been extensively used all the time. Good relationships have been maintained between the staff of the forest management and the teaching personnel of the university. lt is concluded that for in-forest leaming it does not necessarily need university owned forests. Examples for personal experience of the author as student and as teacher are presented, including courses from the fields of forest utilization, forest work science and forest road construction as well as the ESPRO (First-Semester-Project).

The theoretical part of the thesis presents activities, target groups and (teaching) staff's job specification in the educational care center. Then it defines self-evaluation, lists specific principles of professional work with clients and states the factors that are part of success or failure of staff's interventions. The conclusion of the thesis shows particular methods that can help to achieve self-evaluation and presents the self-efficacy studies. The goal of the survey research is to find out what the educational care center's staff considers as success and failure of their work and which indicators help them to evaluate their work. Author uses qualitative research design and semi-structured interview as a data collection method. The data are processed by the components of the grounded theory. / \"Explainers\" of Rio de Janeiro: ups and downs of peerless professional trajectories.

Mattos, Luiz Otavio Neves 05 April 2006 (has links)
It is a study of an empiric nature, with an ethnographic inspiration, which aims to analyze the careers of nine \'explainers\', that is, teachers that taught in their own houses in dining rooms, balconies, verandas and backyards to multi seriated classes of students learning how to read and write to high school levels. Three central questions composed the investigative central axis of the study : a) What were the \'explainers\'? How did the processes of socialization and teaching come to be and, later, becoming house teachers? And b) How did they perform in their work places? At the beginning of the study, a review of the fieldwork in the history of formal Teaching was made, with the intention of stating it as what it was and consequently defining it as a study of a type of exercise. Then the research presented in rich details the main data obtained during the exploratory interviews, the participating observations and semi-structured interviews. All of them methodological instruments put to use throughout the fieldwork. The processes of socialization of the nine teachers, first towards teaching and then towards becoming house teachers (\'explainers\'), were analyzed under the light of the concepts of habitus e estratégia conceived by Pierre Bordieu and interpreted in research by Nogueira, Lelis and Perrenaud. The results suggest that, within the material life conditions of the nine teachers, teaching showed to be the possible way to their professional aspirations and, more than that, the job as an \'explainer\' gathered all the ideal practical conditions, since it guaranteed a monthly income without any taxes or discounts as well as the possibility of working and managing their homes and children at the same time. In relation to the third aspect of the research, seven theme axis were built from the potencies of the data from the empiric. They were: Didactic strategies used by the \'explainers\', the daily routines created by them to take care of the students\' daily school demands, the resources used by the \'explainers\' to fulfill the various solicitations due to the plurality of their demands; their relationships with the students, their families and schools; their individual view on school, student and family; the difference between them and the schools regarding their successful effectiveness with the students in comparison to schools, and, at last, their dreams and desires as women and teachers. All of them pointing to a profile of a modality of exercise of formal teaching and to the singularities of the experiences lived by nine teachers in their individual stories. It is important to point out that the study was able to detect a certain depletion of the families\' possibilities of meeting the demands made by the schools to the students.

Within the framework of the studies related to teachers, the Professional Identity Crisis has been a current issue which has elicited researches in several countries. In Brazil, some changes in political, social and economic sphere have been seen lately in recent years and these such changes flaw the society, in general, specially the Education System. Therefore, this assignment aims to investigate the influences of the contemporary configuration of education in the Professional Identity of Mathematics teacher of Basic Education System. For this purpose, a qualitative research was made by means of research into studying of the issue according to an important question: “How has the current configuration of education related to the significant changes in Paulistas Public Schools contributed to a new identification to the role of Mathematics teachers inside their classrooms, so that it is possible to trigger a crisis process to a Professional Identity? Data were collected through questionnaire and the material was analyzed in the view of analyzing the subject based on the theories used as reference. Studying the research, it was possible to understand how the current changes of education may affect several professions, including the Mathematics teachers who admit a large number of negative implications for the mentioned profession. Accordingly, this research can also investigate, in these ones `view however, what the factors on the base of the Professional Identity Crisis have been contributing to an understanding of this phenomenon which can conduct forward reconstruction of Professional Identity to Mathematics teachers. As a result, contemporary configurations of education from these changes can be seen as well as the new society demands, transferred some functions to school which once were assumed to others, for instance family, demanding new functions and this fact has destabilized the role of teachers. Besides, the teachers have been encountering increasingly a lack of suitable working conditions and with the deterioration the professional status since all imposed demands may not be accompanied by professional improvements. As a result, teachers go through a deep crisis of Professional Identity leading these professionals to a sense of resistance to changes and demoralization, thus they withdrawal their occupation.
