The consumption of psychoactive substances has followed humankind throughout history. In different periods and in different cultures, medicinal, religious and recreational use of these various substances was widespread. However, nowadays, this consumption has been presented as a new configuration due to the emergence of a concern with drug addiction, its amplitude and its arising problems (social, cultural, economic, legal, psychological and public health problems). In the search for possible solutions, forms and models of care, emerge. We envision models in which have been highlighted the therapeutic communities. This is a work of socio anthropological intente, that aims is to contribute to the understanding of this phenomenon from the field of study in a Peruvian therapeutic community where ayahuasca is used for recovering addicts: the Takiwasi. Located in the region of the Peruvian Amazon, this therapeutic community treatment presents an innovative approach by combining knowledge that are normally thought as antagonistic: the Western scientific knowledge and the traditional knowledge of amazons healers. Joining these two knowledges, the therapeutic community has developed techniques aimed at providing patients an inclusive experience. These techniques include the use of medicinal plants with psychoactive and purgatives properties, Peruvian heritage of traditional healers, with concomitant monitoring of psychotherapists who use their scientific specialty techniques to aggregate and integrate the visionary contents provided by the plants, especially by ayahuasca. From participant observation, interviews and reconstruction of life histories of patients, we seek to listen to the individuals involved in the process (patients and staff therapy) in order to identify how they conceive the addiction and how they feel on this treatment modality

Igreja, uma comunidade terapêutica para infância e juventude / Church, a therapeutic community for children and youth

Rita Cristina Coelho de Almeida Santiago 28 May 2007 (has links)
This work deals with the question: how the Baptist church will develop work with its children and teenagers members, in such a way to answer today's society challenges faced in these age groups? Through this research, a psychological and theological analysis is presented to make possible the therapeutic praxis in church, describing the criteria and biblical examples as well as Sigmund Freuds psychological and psychoanalytical basis. It analyses the Baptist Congregation as a favorable place to promote human essence healing in its completeness. For this reason, it makes use of the research-action methodology. Some children and some young people were interviewed, when they talked about their own lives and what image of God they have. As theoretical references, bibliographies from the authors Erik Erikson, Sigmund Freud, Gary Collins and H. Clinebell were consulted. This work is divided into three chapters. The first one demonstrates the Baptist churchs need to promote a therapy for children and youth inserted in a secularized society; some aspects are pointed out from postmodern context, from the psychosocial stages and from the faith stages, as well as the churchs challenge to promote abundant life. The second chapter explains the churchs mission as a therapeutic community; there is a brief review about the origins of Baptist church in Brazil and a special emphasis in the churchs mission. The third chapter seeks to point ways for therapeutic praxis development in the Baptist church. Finally, the fourth and final chapter presents suggestions to manage the problem raised by this research.

Fossi, Luciana Barcellos January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation it is a survey on the effects of the insertion of therapeutic communities for the treatment of drug users in the Health System from the Integrated Plan to Combat Crack, published by the federal government in 2010. Důvody nástupu klienta do léčby v terapeutické komunitě WHITE LIGHT I. / Why Do Clients Enter the Treatment in Therapeutic Community WHITE LIGHT I

Solčány, Jakub January 2017 (has links)
The question of what leads clients to onset of the WHITE LIGHT I therapeutic community was the main reason for this research. It may seem that the main motive is the drug addiction of clients, but I rather wonder what the last drop is, that they come to make a decision to do something about themselves. In my experience, it is the consequences of drug use rather than addiction itself. I wanted to examine those reasons. The aim of the research is to find out and explain the reasons for clients entering the Therapeutic community WHITE LIGHT I. The thesis is based on qualitative research. The methods used to obtain data are clients' biographies, questions on admission, records of the therapeutic groups and semistructured interview. I conducted the research on eight WHITE LIGHT I community clients who agreed to participate in the research. For data processing, I used the thematic analysis as a method, which is the most appropriate for a given need. The research revealed eight reasons for getting treatment. It is a loss of housing, a desire for a normal life without drugs, loss of employment, problems with the law, family pressure, health problems, client in the position of victim (crime, violence, etc.) and loss of life expectancy. Findings from my research corresponded to the reasons found by other...

Influence of eating habits on psychopathological symptoms should present clients with mafestations in therapeutic community for treatment of addiction.

Košťáková, Martina January 2017 (has links)
ABCTRACT BACKGROUND: Currently, the diagnosis of ADHD is highly debated. Symptoms pass from childhood to adulthood. It turns out that people who according to the questionnaire YFAS meet the diagnostic criteria for dependence on food, show more comorbidity of other disorders such as binge eating, depressive, or ADHD. OBJECTIVE: The research problem and the aim of the diploma thesis is to find out what effect the regular diet regimen has on the diagnosis of food dependence in clients who are being treated in residential treatment in the treatment community of NL dependence. Assess whether a food addiction is more likely to suffer from ADHD symptoms and symptoms of psychopathology according to the SCL - 90 questionnaire. METHODS: The thesis is based on data from the GAČR ADHD project. The research was conducted in 5 therapeutic communities in the Czech Republic. The YFAS, DIVA and SCL- 90 questionnaires were used for the research. Test cells were collected in 4 waves of data collection, but only the first and second wave of data collection are used in this work because we are interested in data about clients on arrival and during the stay. Of the other questionnaires used in the GAČR ADHD project, very short case studies were developed and only for people who were addicted to food. RESEARCH FILE: The thesis is...

Financování terapeutických komunit pro drogově závislé v České republice / Financing of therapeutic communities for drug addicted in the Czech Republic

Danišová, Marie January 2009 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Financing of therapeutic communities for drug addicted in the Czech Republic" deals with the financing of therapeutic communities which are the most successful in production abstainer in the system of care for drug addicted in the Czech Republic. The analysis of documents shows that the process of financing isn't perfect. By eliminating the problems of the process of financing we can achieve that the therapists will not have to deal with these problems and thus able to devote more time therapeutic program and its clients which may lead to more abstainer. The aim of this work is a critical reflection process of financing of therapeutic communities, identifying of problems associated with this financing and to propose solutions to public policy. The most burning issue in this process of the allocation of dotation is late financing of therapeutic communities which I consider as my research problem. The thesis is confirmed this assumption and it became clear that problems in this process are unnecessary and the overwhelming majority of this problems could be easily removed. Some problems are serious nature and for change the political will is needed which currently isn't much.
