História de vida e prognóstico / Life story and prognosis

Gilberto Ribeiro Vieira 16 March 2017 (has links)
This thesis examines the possible link between life history and disease with its respective evolution, admitting that the existential course keeps connection with the outcome and provides indicators for the establishment of the prognosis, seeing the mind-body as unity. The author insoles the theme exploring the relationship between the prognosis and the contemporary medicine;dialoguing with Foucault about the influence of the histopathology in the reductionism of the medical clinic;essaying around the analogy between scientific methods and sexuality from the myths, Adam and Eve.The study is based on the premise that the prognosis can be stratified into five types: Complicatedor very unfavorable, moderately or Progressive, Stagnantor uncertain, Residualor moderately favorable or very favorable or Resolved, depending on how the particular individual took the main chance and the way it dealt with the greatest difficulty of his life besides remarkable situations of his psychoaffective experience. It appeals in parallel to the holistic approach, prevalent in homeopathy, clearing, however, some shady spots in its vision of the mind-body unity, which makes the prognosis inside the limits of the patient\'s reaction to the homeopathic medicine or to the severity of the disease, ignoring the trajectory of his life. The research has selected fifteen between 40 interviewed patients, in current or former treatment of cancer in the Hospital do Câncer de Rio Brancoand the Associação dos Amigos do Peito (Abrigo), of both sexes, all of them aged between 20 and 70 years. The life story of patients considered Complicated evidence sudden revolt and/or non conformity;in the Progressive, conflicts that rises slowly and continuously;in the Stagnant, prolonged difficulties, inadequacies and antagonisms that remains in the same level;in the Residual, delay in solution of disputes, followed by successful resilience;in the Resolved, readiness to settle the challenges, with solidarity and altruism.Greater severity of illness, deaths and metastasis in relation to other types prevail in the Complicated and Progressive;the clinic picture tends torecurrence or sequelin theStagnant;to the remission in the Residual, and to have being cured several years before,in the Resolved. It was concluded that, although the prognosis based on life story requires more research, it already provides elements to support the clinical activity in various professional fields, and can also support actions directed to public health, particularly in the preventive field.

Averróis e a questão do intelecto material no Grande Comentário ao De Anima de Aristóteles, livro III, comentário 5 / Averroes and the issue of material intellect in the Great Commentary on Aristotle\'s De Anima, book III, commentary 5

Arthur Klik de Lima 04 March 2010 (has links)
The objectiveof this work is to proceed the examination of the analysis carried through Averroes regarding the nature of the material intellect. The author aims to demonstrate certain incompleteness presented in some thesis about it, mainly those of Themístius and Alexander of Aphrodisias, and to solve the antinomies wich involves the affirmation of that the material intellect as a separate and a single substance for all humankind. This affirmation rises many questions, mainly the formation process of the intelligible; the possibility of the individual knowledge; the relation established between man and intellect; and, over all, the nature of the material intellect. Originated among great controversy, the thesis for the unit of the material intellect has great importance in the thought of Averroes, therefore the establishment of this nature represents the solution of many questions in the scope of metaphysics. The consequences of this question arrive even though at the moral ground of its philosophy, where it is established that the natural movement of the man happens trought the relation with this separate substance and has its end precisely there, where the land of the absolute happiness is reached only by this relation between man and intellect.

The objective of this study was obtain a safe and useful product comparing to the traditional system. The effect of the grind fine (M3), medium (M5) and coarse (M7) and press was determined on the color CIELab and soluble solids of the beverage prepared with the coffee. The mechanical resistance of the blocks was tested by compression trials, fall tests and transport simulation. According to the results it was found that the best condition to obtain the block was 9t (P9) with the medium grind. The blocks presented satisfactory performance in the trials with falling, compression and transport simulation. It was determined the shelf life of the blocks hold in the 25 and 35ºC. Physicals, chemicals, sensory and the packaging system analysis were carried out. The shelf life based in the lost sensorial global characteristics of the coffee beverage for the pressed product hold at 25 and 35ºC, was 106 and 91 days respectively, with Q10 value of 1,2. It was estimated the shelf life of the ground roasted coffee vacuum packed at 20¿ Hg, in 50g portions, stored at 25 and 35ºC. The oxidized or non-characteristic aroma was determined using a sensory evaluation of the powder fragrance by inhaling the sample. During the storage it was evaluated the head space to packing relating the percentage of oxygen and carbon dioxide by gas chromatography. The hexanal was also monitored, like a indicative of the coffee oxidation. According to the results the mean estimated shelf life was 165 and 122 days for the coffee stored at 25 and 35ºC , respectively. The compound hexanal measured as the total peak area, decreased during 120 days of storage, showing a linear function at 25ºC and exponential at 35ºC , indicating its presence in the product as an aroma component and not as an oxidation product. The sensory changes in pressed unitized ground roasted coffee, packed in an aluminum laminate, were determined by qualitative descriptive analysis, during storage at 25ºC in order to monitor losses in beverage quality during storage. An acceptance test of the beverage was also carried out in the laboratory with 30 consumers. The loss of some key compounds, characteristic of coffee aroma, was also determined during storage, as compared to a reference sample storage frozen at -19ºC. The product was shown to be unacceptable for consumption after 45 days of storage. The consumer test proved that the coffee rejected by the sensory panel was also rejected by the consumers. An accentuated loss of aroma and increasing level of oxidation was shown up to 30 days of storage. A domestic use test was carried out with 57 families, distributing one 50g unit of pressed coffee to each family, accompanied by two questionnaires, one being to determined the consumer profile according to the ¿ Brazilian Criterion for Economic Classification¿ and the other to evaluate product acceptance. The results showed that class B2 predominated, representing 28% of the families consulted, followed by classes C with 24,5, B1 with 16%, A2 with 14% and classes D and A1 with an accumulated percentage of 8,8%. The unitized press coffee in 50g portion as well accepted by the families, being considered a good alternative for the commercialization of ground roasted coffee, regarding to aspects of safety, practicality, quality, ease of preparation and intention to buy / Doutorado / Doutor em Tecnologia de Alimentos

L'Un et le Signe : une lecture de la règle de saint Augustin / The One and the Symbol : a reading of the Rule of Saint Augustine

Leclere, Matthieu 03 December 2009 (has links)
The whole thought of Augustine seems to be the result of a radical questioning: why is there the Other and not just the One? This question leads him to adopt an original reasoned position which ultimately takes the original form of a monastic rule. The broad themes on which the Rule relies outline an ascent from the desire for beauty as revelation of the turning towards the One to the discovery of the relations within the Trinity as a place where desire and desired are united. My research is informed by a systematic comparison of the rules of monastic communities of the 4th and 5th centuries. The Augustinian community is not primarily either a community of ascetics or of men aiming for perfection, but a community experiencing the unity of the Trinity lived by and in the Church. The sacramentum is the means which permits man to make his own the unity of the Trinity. The sacramental symbol leads the individual to interiority and causes him to experience that love of the One in which all are able to come together and unite. In this shared love, the dialectic between the individual and the community is resolved. This discovery leads to an analysis of the idea of the symbol in Augustine and to a re-examination of certain current interpretations of his thought. In the light of these conclusions, it is possible to understand better the central role of worship in the unity of the City and to define the conditions of political unity.

Bilden av Spelvärlden : Gravitationen som hjälp för mentala kartor / The Image of the Game World : Gravity as an Aid for Cognitive Maps

Persson-Bille, Hugo January 2011 (has links)
Every game developer stands to gain from giving players clearer memories from game worlds. This paper examines how platform challenges can be used to support mental maps. Test subjects were tasked with navigating a maze based on the game Brain Fudge with varying degrees of gravity, and results imply that more cumbersome platform challenges make it more difficult for players to map the game world as a whole.

En studie om Flow i ett bowlingspel

Odisho, Ramail January 2015 (has links)

Naturalizing the Unity of Consciousness: can neuroscience explain a fundamental feature of subjectivity?

Vraný, Martin January 2018 (has links)
Naturalizing the Unity of Consciousness: can neuroscience explain a fundamental feature of subjectivity? Martin Vraný Abstract The aim of the dissertation is to analyze the concept of the unity of conscious- ness as an explanandum for natural sciences and assess how good an explanation do leading neuroscientific theories of consciousness provide. The motivation be- hind this project is the idea that it is the unity which poses the greatest challenge for the scientific quest for consciousness. I argue in the Introduction that the reason why some theories of consciousness lead to what Dennett calls Cartesian materialism is precisely because they fail to address the problem of the unity of consciousness. If we had a good understanding of the unity of consciousness and its place in nature, we could more easily avoid the tendency to devise accounts of consciousness that are homuncular in disguise. In chapter 2 I analyze various aspects in which consciousness is thought be unified and conclude that two such aspects are particularly challenging for natu- ralizing the unity and that they cannot be treated separately. They are the unity of conscious contents at a time and the unity in the sense of a single subject having conscious contents and being able to reflect on them. Chapter 3 describes main conceptual and...
