A partir de um estudo comparativo que tem como universos empíricos os casos das cidades de São Luís, no Brasil, e Guimarães, em Portugal, essa tese procura investigar a conversão de centros históricos a Patrimônio Mundial pela Unesco, problematizando os tipos de intervenção urbana que acompanham esse processo em suas diferentes etapas. Se, por um lado, buscamos investigar qual o papel das políticas de revitalização na concessão desse título, por outro, importou-nos saber a pertinência de pesquisar se a eleição de um centro histórico como Patrimônio Mundial serve para legitimar práticas de enobrecimento urbano. Além disso, procuramos apreender as imagens citadinas e as identidades locais construídas e/ou reabilitadas nesse processo, atentando para os interesses e projetos políticos aí envolvidos. Apreender e analisar as especificidades, os aspectos variantes e as similitudes existentes nos dois casos nos permitiu colher preciosas informações acerca da atual valorização do patrimônio cultural enquanto estratégia de promoção das cidades. Para além de temas como identidade nacional e memória, tornar-se Patrimônio Mundial tem resultado no acúmulo vantajoso de capital simbólico e de marcos de distinção que são imprescindíveis na inserção desses lugares históricos em circuitos de fruição turística e de consumo cultural. Quando pensamos que uma das intenções de salvaguardar um bem como Patrimônio da Humanidade é gerar uma solidariedade mundial e pertença comum, somos levados à ideia de que o uso mercadológico exacerbado desses bens, naquilo que denominamos tragédia do patrimônio, tem resultado em um movimento contraditório, uma vez que a disputa de cidades e lugares no circuito turístico mundial gera muito mais competição do que solidariedade / From nation to market: world heritages and urban interventions in comparative perspective From a comparative study that has as empirical universes the cases of the cities São Luís in Brazil and Guimaraes in Portugal, this thesis investigates the conversion of historic centers to Unescos World Heritage, discussing the types of urban intervention that accompany this process in its different steps. If, on the one hand, we seek to investigate the role of revitalization policies in the awarding of this title, on the other hand, imported us know the relevance of searching if the election of a historic center as a World Heritage serves to legitimize practices of urban gentrification. Furthermore, we attempted to apprehend the city images and local identities constructed and/or rehabilitated in the process, focusing on the political interests and projects there involved. Apprehending and analyzing the specificities, the variant aspects and similarities existing in both cases allowed us to gather valuable information about the current valorization of cultural heritage as strategy of promoting the cities. In addition to themes such as national identity and memory, becoming World Heritage has resulted in advantageous accumulation of symbolic capital and marks of distinction that are essential in the integration of these historical places in circuits of tourist and cultural consumption fruition. When we think that one of the intentions to safeguard an asset as Humanitys Heritage is to generate a global solidarity and common membership, we are led to the idea that the exacerbated marketing use of these assets, in what we call tragedy of heritage, has resulted in a contradictory movement, since the dispute of cities and places in the world tourist circuit generates much more competition than solidarity

A pesquisa aborda processos de intervenção urbana desenvolvidos a partir da consolidação da Arquitetura e Urbanismo Modernos aos dias atuais, buscando identificar, por meio da análise de experiências realizadas em diferentes cidades, as transformações da atuação do homem sobre o meio, frente a diferentes contextos, possibilidades e reações, com o reconhecimento de métodos e estratégias legítimos para a indução de processos de desenvolvimento visando ao combate da segregação sócio-espacial na cidade contemporânea. O Bairro da Luz, em São Paulo, é adotado como objeto de estudo não apenas por sua riqueza cultural e importância para a capital paulista, mas, especialmente, em virtude da política urbana municipal vigente, que prevê a radical transformação de grande parte daquele tecido urbano, de seu uso e ocupação. A análise das experiências selecionadas, da história, estado atual e propostas para o bairro e dos instrumentos jurídicos disponíveis forma o arcabouço para a proposição de uma política urbana baseada na gestão democrática e no processo de transformação gradual e responsável da paisagem cultural da cidade, estabelecendo princípios, diretrizes e medidas de intervenção, traduzidas em um projeto conceitual de desenho urbano. / This essay analyses urban intervention processes developed from the consolidation of Modern Architecture and Urbanism until the present, in order to identify, through the analysis of different cities\' experiences, the transformation of Man\'s action on the environment, under varied contexts, possibilities and reactions, along with the recognition of legitimate methods and strategies to the triggering of development processes aimed at combating the socio-spatial segregation in contemporary cities. The Luz District in São Paulo has been chosen as research subject not only due to its cultural richness, diversity and its importance to the metropolis, but also due to the present municipal urban policy, which foresees the radical substitution of that urban fabric, its activities and land occupation. The analysis of the selected cases, of the history, current state of conservation and the proposals for the area, as well as the relevant legislation, forms the outline to the proposition of an urban policy based on democratic governance and the gradual and responsible improvement of the city\'s cultural landscape, by establishing principles, guidelines and intervention measures, translated into a conceptual urban design project.

This research has as theme the production of works/projects in the field of webart. The digital poetics in this dissertation comes from the following question: how to prepare webarts correlating the maze of urbis and cyberspace, using the Entity as a connection point? I make this question in order to expand the artistic career developed so far. Thus, this poetics uses a few repeated characteristics, such as performing activities related to urban intervention and the use of photography and video to reach webarte. But the poetics is developed in other aspects: the webarts are the object of study, and aim to propose relationships between urban space and cyberspace, considered two labyrinthine environments; the webarts are resized by the synergy between work/project and interactor. In the methodological development, I approach myself of the concepts delimited during the practice, which I seek to deepen, weaving some relationships with the field of media art in general and specifically with the technological art and webart. The terms emerge from the practical procedures and are tested in theoretic field, then, they are tested again in practice trials. The result are three major works/projects, inserted in the context of contemporary art, proposing a particular approach on aspects of webart. / Esta pesquisa tem como mote principal a produção de obras/projetos no âmbito da webarte. A poética digital nesta dissertação se origina do seguinte questionamento: como elaborar webartes que relacionem o labirinto da urbis e ciberespaço, utilizando a Entidade como ponto de conexão? Faço essa indagação com o objetivo de ampliar a trajetória artística desenvolvida até o momento. Dessa maneira, essa poética valese de alguns pontos reincidentes, como atividades performáticas relacionadas à intervenção urbana e à utilização da fotografia e do vídeo até chegar a webarte. Porém, a poética é ampliada em outros aspectos: as webartes constituem o objeto de estudo, e visam propor relações entre espaço urbano e ciberespaço, apontados como dois ambientes labirínticos; as webartes são redimensionadas pela sinergia entre obra/projeto e interator. No desenvolvimento metodológico me aproximo dos conceitos delimitados durante a prática, a qual busco aprofundar, tecendo algumas relações com o campo da mídia, da arte em geral e, especificamente, da arte tecnológica e da webarte. Quanto aos conceitos, eles emergem dos procedimentos práticos e são indagados pelo viés da teoria, bem como são testados novamente em experimentações práticas. O resultado constitui-se a partir de três obras/projetos principais, inseridas no contexto da arte contemporânea, propondo uma abordagem particular sobre aspectos da webarte.

Essa pesquisa se propõe a refletir sobre o potencial da arte de performance como ferramenta para instaurar poéticas de sustentabilidade no ambiente urbano, atentando para as possíveis contribuições das artes da cena na formação/informação de culturas e estéticas de sustentabilidade, tão necessárias no panorama civilizacional contemporâneo. Considerando o desenvolvimento de três performances realizadas ao longo de 2014 e 2015, em Porto Alegre (Brasil), afirmo a gestualidade do performer como fio condutor na composição de imagens de dissidência, imagens que estabeleçam a quebra da lógica de uso do ambiente urbano. Tais imagens traduzem ações performativas, estabelecendo diálogo com perspectivas da performance arte, da intervenção urbana, da dança e do teatro. As ações foram realizadas em ecossistemas aquáticos urbanos em situação de degradação, em afirmação a um posicionamento poético e político de ativação desses espaços. / This essay is ment to be a reflection about some highlights on the performance art's potential as a tool to establish the poetics of sustainability in the urban environment. It is also a post investigation analyses of the possible contributions of the performing arts to the culture construction and to the development of the aesthetics of sustainability, so necessary in the current context of a global civilization crisis. Considering the process of development of three scenic performances during the bienial of 2014 and 2015, in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil, it is proposed that the conception of the gesture of the performer can be a conducting wire in the composition of dissent images, that can establish the breakdown of logic in the human conception of life inside urban environments. These images were also a translation of performative actions, establishing dialogues with prospects of performance art, urban intervention, dance and theater. The performances took place at degradated urban aquatic ecosystems that have been left in poor conditions of conservation, considering a poetic and political proposal of bringing these places back to life.

Esta dissertação apresenta uma pesquisa em Artes Visuais, está concentrada na área de Poéticas Visuais e tem como ponto de partida minha produção de intervenções realizadas durante o período de fevereiro de 2009 a novembro de 2010. Trata-se de uma reflexão que procura compreender o processo de trabalho desde sua origem e abranger a multiplicidade inerente à minha prática, que transita por diferentes técnicas, como desenho, intervenção urbana e fotografia, todos permeados por referências e conceitos. O objeto de estudo desta pesquisa refere-se à relação existente entre desenho, ruína e fotografia; e também ao desenho inserido no espaço urbano e às modificações que eles sofrem nesse espaço. A pesquisa desencadeou reflexões a respeito da apropriação, da coleta e da ruína enquanto construção. / This thesis presents a Visual Arts study, focused in Visual Poetry, having my production operations conducted from February 2009 to November 2010 as a starting point. This is a reflexion that seeks to comprehend the work process from its origin and to embrace the multiplicity that involves my own practice transiting by different techniques as drawing, photography and urban intervention, all permeated by references and concepts. The object of this research concerns about the relationship among design, photography and ruin. It also includes drawing in the urban space and the modifications that such drawing suffers in this space. The research triggered discussions due to appropriation, the gathering and the ruin while construction.

A noção de micropolítica, conceito desenvolvido por Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari, e a estética relacional, de Nicolas Bourriaud, apoiam a discussão sobre as experiências estéticas na cidade. A observação se dá por meio da experiência vivida nestas intervenções, pesquisa bibliográfica, entrevistas com outros envolvidos, fotografias, postagens na internet e material audiovisual. Sombras que passeiam, ocorrida no campus da UFMT, Largo da Mandioca, no centro Histórico de Cuiabá, e Praça de Estar, na Praça Ipiranga, são as três intervenções observadas. O resultado é a compreensão destas práticas estéticas coletivas contemporâneas como formas de estar na cidade. / Reflections about experiences with urban intervention performed in the city of Cuiabá by the Coletivo à Deriva, in the period 2010-2012. The notion of micropolitics, a concept developed by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari; and Nicolas Bourriaud with the relational aesthetics, supports the discussion about aesthetic experiences in the city. The observation is through the experience lived in these interventions, literature search, interviews with others involved, photographs, internet postings and audiovisual material. Wandering shadows, held on the campus of UFMT, Largo da Mandioca, in the historical center of Cuiabá, and the Living Square, in Ipiranga’s Square, are the three observed interventions. The result is an understanding of these collective contemporary aesthetics practices as ways of being in the city.

De caráter político, feminista e autobiográfico, a ideia que conduz esta dissertação é a abordagem do percurso traçado desde a minha infância, passando pela relação problemática com minha mãe, pelas experiências com a pichação, pelo redescobrimento no graffiti, até chegar à produção artística atual, compondo, desta forma, a persona Anarkia Boladona. O processo de pesquisa foi ordenado por visitas, criadas ao acaso, por cidades do globo, onde as diferenças culturais chocam-se de forma a me fazer compreender quem sou, o porquê desta minha construção e como ela se reflete em meu processo artístico. São oito anos completos de graffiti, treze de pichação, quinze como professora e vinte dois de desenho, mas uma vida toda pensando e produzindo arte / This dissertation is driven by political, feminist, and autobiographical ideas. It proposes to address the path I followed since childhood beginning with my problematic relationship with my mother, experimentation with graffiti, and rediscovering graffiti, to my current work as an artist, thus forming the persona Anarkia Boladona. The research process was developed at random by visiting cities around the globe where cultural differences collide in order to understand who I am, why I built this, and how it is reflected in my artistic process. Eight years of graffiti, thirteen years of pichação, fifteen years as a professor, and twenty-two as a drawing teacher, but truly a lifetime of thinking about and producing art

A dissertação aqui apresentada busca compreender a constituição atual do bairro da Lapa, no Rio de Janeiro, no marco das alterações ocorridas em sua dinâmica nos últimos anos. Tal processo, comumente denominado de revitalização, adensou-se no início dos anos 2000 e caracteriza-se, sobretudo, pela intensificação da vida noturna local e suas implicações. Em meio a tal paisagem de pesquisa, a Rua Joaquim Silva e seu entorno foram eleitos como lócus privilegiado de análise. Ao observar as relações presentes neste espaço, relacionadas ao contexto mais geral do bairro, revelou-se uma série de encontros entre diferentes atores sociais, os quais permitiram compreender, de alguma maneira, por quem e como este espaço é hoje habitado e consequentemente, construído. / The present thesis aims to understand the contemporary constitution of a region in Rio de Janeiros historic center called Lapa, considering many changes that affected its dynamics during the last years. Such process, normally refereed as revitalização, has been intensified since the beginning of years 2000 and it is marked by an increase on Lapas nightlife. Considering this context, a street named Joaquim Silva was elected as a privileged field of research. Observe the relations there presents, correlated to the neighborhood context, permitted to seek networks and situations experienced between different social actors. Thus, was possible to understand for who and how this space is nowadays dwelled and therefore, built.
