Medias steg i "villkorstrappan" - nyhetsrapporteringen : En kvantitativ innehållsanalys av medias rapportering av "villkorstrappan" / Media's step on the "conditions staircase" - the news reports

Sjölin, Adam, Printz, Olle January 2020 (has links)
Sammanlagt 112 artiklar.

Tommos Jernberg, Oliver, Axelsson, Olof January 2022 (has links)
This paper seeks to unravel the existing discourses within the Swedish football supporter movement, and their criticism towards the Swedish police authority and the implementation of a new strategy known as"Villkorstrappan". The strategy faced heavy criticism from the supporters’ clubs, calling it counterproductive and harmful. The Swedish football supporters’ union soon launched an initiative called "Rädda svensk fotboll!". Almost every supporters’ club affiliated with football clubs in the Swedish top flight, joined the initiative leading to nationwide protests both online, and in the stadiums. The theoretical framework consists of Norman Fairclough's three-dimensional model of CDA. In addition the paper seeks to examine the creation of collective identity in the movement, this by using Melucci's theory and Burke's rhetorical identification theory. The research material has consisted of texts produced by Swedish supporters’ clubs and of pictures of message-banners presented in the stands during games. The results revealed three main discourses within the supporters’ movement and the criticism towards Villkorstrappan: “The police is a threat towards Swedish football”; "Football as democratic, and belonging to the people''; and “The importance of the supporterculture”. Regarding collective identity, various findings indicated an increasing unity within the Swedish football supporter movement, when uniting against a common enemy. Overall the results emphasize the importance of the swedish football supporters’movement, as a democratic actor, as a social movement and as crucial to swedish football in general.

Matchen i matchen: polisen mot supportrarna : En kvalitativ studie av kvällspressens rapportering i anknytning till AIK mot Djurgården 2021 / Head to head: the police versus the supporters : A qualitative study of the tabloids coverage in connection to AIK vs Djurgården in 2021

Berggren, Benjamin, Erlandsson, Niklas January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the Swedish evening papers portrayed and framed the conflict between the police, football clubs and their fans. The conflict in question arose already in 2019 with drastic regulations from the police against clubs and fans to prevent violence, pyrotechnics and other illegal activities.  The method that was used in this study was a qualitative textual analysis. The study uses two different theories: agenda setting and agenda framing. Agenda setting focuses on what is salient in the news reporting while agenda framing focuses on how different topics are portrayed by the media. The analysis is based on 22 different articles from the Swedish newspapers websites of Aftonbladet and Expressen. These two are considered to be the biggest tabloids in Sweden, both well known for producing media in a sensationalist manner. We decided to define our selection of articles from a two week time-period surrounding the football derby in Stockholm between AIK and Djurgården on October 3, 2021. The reason for this selection was the aftermath of the game regarding the police brutality against the supporter group of Djurgården.  The result from the study was that both Aftonbladet and Expressen portrayed the conflict in a way that led to a public opinion sympathizing with the football supporters. A possible factor leading to this result was a lack of communication from the police authority towards the newspapers.

Allting började med en villkorstrappa : En kvantitativ analys om kvällspressens framställning av fotbollssupportrar / Everything started with a term stair : A quantitative analysis on how the tabloid press describe football supporters

Gustafsson Tengberg, Simon, Holm Stålhand, Simon January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to examine if there been a change of attitude in sports journalism in the reporting on supporter-related issues in Swedish elite football after the new police method that was applied in 2019, called the terms stair. We have analyzed the differences between two football seasons, 2018 and 2019, with a quantitative content analysis on Sportbladet and Sportexpressen, which is the two biggest papers when it comes to sport. he most interesting result we got from our study was that there has been a shifting in the attitude from sport journalist concerning football supporters. Another interesting result was that the word ”hooligan” is rarely used to describe football supporters.

Vem var det som kastade? : Den språkliga konstruktionen av fotbollssupportrar i Svenska Dagbladet / Who was it that threw? : The linguistic construction of football fans in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Ottosson, Wilma January 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the linguistic construction of football fans in Swedish daily press. To fulfill this a comparison is carried out between the representation of participants in the news reports on the so-called Condition Stairs conflict (Villkorstrappan). The data consists of 15 news articles from the nationwide daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. The study draws upon theories from Critical Discourse Analysis and Systemic Functional Grammar. The analytical methods are based on the ideational metafunction. The results are discussed in relation to media analytical and sociological research on football fandom, ultras culture and hooliganism. The main conclusions drawn from the study are that the linguistic construction of football fans is ambivalent and shaped by conflicting discourses. The police are constructed as a threat to football fans, at the same time the football fans are represented as a homogeneous group participating in illegal activities in the stands. I argue that this could have negative impacts on the Swedish fan culture and the general understanding of it.
