Etika a ekonomie v průběhu dějin ekonomického myšlení / Ethics and Economics in the Course of Economic Thinking HistoryPODHOROVÁ, Nikola January 2016 (has links)
"Ethics and Economics in the Course of Economic Thinking History" is the essay topic of the disertation. It aims at the description and definition of both terms in the history and it refers to their interactive links and separation in the past. Firstly, both terms are explained and then the most significant representatives and trends are mentioned. Due to their thoughts, ideas and opinions there was a possibility to develop the individual sciences. The theoretical part pays attention to current terms Green Economy and Green Growth which should help to solve the questions of the environment and its saving in the future. Both terms try to find the right solution that would reduce the environmental risks, decrease poverty and support economic growth with the tenable development, and other important topics. The practical part also pays attention to Green Economy. A wide range of societies is questioned about their awareness of the term Green Economy and other things that are connected with it. The survey was made in the South Bohemia region where a big number of societies was addressed. The result shows that more than a half of respondents is not aware of the term Green Economy at all. However they use and follow Green Economy principles so that they respect and live up to them unknowingly.

This work aims to analyse Max Weber's perspective in relation to the socialism. This great classic of the social thought argued against the feasibility of the socialist project from a very critical point of view. More precisely, this work delineates and analyses the double biased Weberian criticism towards socialism: Weber not only opposes the idea that the human emancipation would be reached in an established socialist society, but also criticises the possibilities of success of a social revolution that could lead to that sort of society. Unveiled the arguments that underpin Weber's criticism, the subsequent critical discussion of the author's reasons is addressed in the light of the historical background in which the German thinker has come up with them. The chain of values that guided the author, which provides the basis for his political-ideological position, seems to exert great influence on the view he holds on socialism, which he has only seen as an extensive form of the bureaucratic domination, something that has already existed in its predecessor, the modern capitalism. Taking that very idea as pivotal, that negative view of socialism, Weber has considered there was no way out for the cage of iron of bureaucracy, thus claiming it was something inexorable in modern times, either in capitalism or in socialism, capitalism's supposed antipodal. Finally, even though some historical developments of the socialist experiences give reason to Weber's arguing, the Weberian theorisation and his arguing, whose strength and influence are undeniable, are questioned here based on some critical elements. In order to do so, a wide range of Weber's works are browsed and analysed; the famous Conference on Socialism, though, proffered by Weber in 1918, is here taken as the fundamental document for research

O tema do prazer
Gay, Nobert Elias, Wolf Lepenies.
tese / The thesis has as its goal the discussion over the pleasure as an intellectual and
personal subject for Max Weber. The main references are The Sociology of Religion,
Science as a Vocation and Politics as a Vocation, Bureaucracy, The sense of "Axiological
Neutrality" in Social and Economic Sciences. Many authors were researched for
information about his life, with a highlight to the biography written by his wife Marianne
Weber, for its great number of excerpts from letters and informal conversations. The
subject "pleasure" was developed by taking into consideration the complexity of this
phenomenon which happens in an ambivalent and multiple ways. In order to do that, we
started from the paradigm of the complexity according to Edgar Morin's view, Georges
Bataille's discussions on erotism and the antinomic comprehension of Lepegneur and
Onfray, who define pleasure as a phenomenon with ambiguities, and the historical
references of Peter Gay, Nobert Elias, Wolf Lepenies. In Max Weber, pleasure presents,
also, this ambiguity, as his scientific approach is registering the absence of pleasure for the
rise of a protestant ethic and, besides that, to support with a process of disenchantment of
the world which leads us to a meaningless life. Weber goes through great changes in the
last years of his life. In this period he includes in his comments the subjects "erotism" and
"arts" with the possibility of escaping from modem everyday routine that affects the
individual's existential freedom. However, his ambiguous position about these possibilities
take him to consider that a situation o f personal confrontation, considered heroical, once, in
his opinion, each one accepts the consequences o f their acts and builds their values to give
a meaning to their own existence. The pleasure in Weber is, above ali aspects, intellectual
and existential: side by side with the routine, bureaucracy and disenchantment ofthe world
was the possibility of charisma, vocation and passion. However, always he related these
characteristics to the discomfort that the modem world presented to men, he, as a scientist,
was ethical. This is the main argument ofthis thesis

One need not have been a lion to understand meat consumption : En surveyundersökning om svenskars miljövärderingar och konsumtionsbeteende av köttJoelson, Anton, Elgtberg, Anders January 2018 (has links)
Indications show that the Swedish population is getting more aware of the environmental impact high meat consumption has. At the same time, the meat consumption in Sweden is breaking all previous records, and crossing the line for environmental sustainability by far. This resulted in us asking the question if this discrepancy between people’s environmental attitude and their meat consumption really existed. Where environmental attitudes are defined as the perception and attitude in line with the norm for a good environmental behavior. Regardless of the discrepancy, we want to make an understanding of why meat consumption looks the way it does. Using a combination of theories, we manage to construct a useful foundation to explain the actions of eating meat. From both rational and non-rational causes where a survey created to collect the information needed. Ratios of sex were created to match the even distributed population of Växjö, where the survey was handed out. The discrepancy between people’s environmental attitude and their meat consumption was found. People that consume more meat tend to be less positive to lower their intake of meat. But these persons are at the same time more aware of the consequences the impact that meat has on the environment. To future understand the consumption of meat we explain the behavior using one model constructed of Weber’s social theory of action.
