Utvecklingen av webbdesign för Aller Medias recepttjänst Stowe : Från research till färdig design / The development of the web design for Aller Media's recipe service Stowe : From research to finished design

Larsson, Mikaela January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore how good User Experience (UX) in web design leads to increased possibilities for conversion rate. By using specific design elements and applying them with a UX perspective on the web design for Aller Media's new recipe site Stowe, high conversion rates would be expected. As a member of the Stowe project group, I have developed different sketches. Theoretical basis for this has been literature with a focus on conversion optimization, UX and web design. Based on that, I have created the design for several web pages of the Stowe site using the graphic design software Sketch. Accordingly, my part was to decide how different design elements could be used to improve the possibilities of high conversion and offer good UX, and also how this could be implemented into factual design. In so doing I have followed the process of web design from beginning to end. The result of this was an in detail sketch of Stowe's landing page, an onboarding flow and sketches of several different Stowe pages, some of which were a collection page and a recipe page.

Vernberg, Daniel January 2017 (has links)
The electronic commerce, or e-commerce, grows each year and with this type of commerce comes unique problems that regular commerce does not have to deal with. E-commerce means that consumers cannot physically touch goods nor have face to face conversations with the retailer. Thus e-commerce involves unique trust issues compared to regular commerce. A key factor for the success of e-commerce is actively working towards gaining consumers trust and one aiding tool to do just that is using web design to gain it. The purpose of this study has been to generate a greater understanding of how web design influences consumer trust towards e-shops. To answer the studies research questions a literature review combined with a group interview and a survey has been carried out. The conclusion of this study points toward that concepts within web design influences consumer trust by various degree. Structure and layout were concepts of e-shops design that is of most importance for gaining consumer trust, even if the aesthetic appearance of e-shops is important.

Be active or stay unattractive : Be active or stay unattractive

Naess, Erik January 2017 (has links)
Enterprises utilize information and communication technology, including websites, to market themselves and expand their businesses. However, employing this technology is not always a guarantee of success, especially for small enterprises. This is often due to limited resources and to the extent of having web skills present within the enterprise. Deciding who will design the website for a small enterprise is therefore of importance since a well designed website is a requirement to attract interest in visitors. The design of a website is also a main factor for the first impression to a visitor, a website that is visually appealing tends to give a greater confidence at first glance. This thesis is based on the interest of small enterprises considerations about what website design development characteristics and objective characteristics is generating more positive first impressions. To find this out, interviews together with subjective and objective measures of visual aesthetics were conducted to immerse in the aesthetics of small enterprise websites. The methods implemented gave variables to test in a correlation analysis. This correlation analysis showed that two web development characteristics had strong correlations with users' perception of visual aesthetics. None of the objective aesthetic attributes based on previous theories gave any strong correlations. These characteristics were therefore supplemented with other objective characteristics, which gave two strong correlations.

A Study on the Transition of the Adaptive into Responsive Web Design Methods on Smart Devices

Al-Ogaili, Rasha, Al-Ogaili, Zaid January 2017 (has links)
In the fast-paced technological revolution, technology has formed itself differently to facilitate the way to users to get their needs. As a matter of fact, people nowadays rely to a great extent on the smart devices as one of the essential creations of technology. They tend to access any website or web-application(s) through these devices fast and easily. Thus, paying enough attention to the design of any website or web-application is a major issue. This thesis project discusses the Responsive and Adaptive Design Methods as two important methods in terms of Websites and Web-Design. The methods have been theoretically discussed and explained to present the essential differences between them. Moreover, MyMusiC website has been implemented to show the differences between these methods practically. The prominent difference between the Responsive and Adaptive de-signs of the website makes it easy for the users to figure out the difference between the two design methods in terms of accessibility and ease of navigation. The results showed that the Responsive design is more user-friendly and more preferred by the users than the Adaptive design, as the users tend to use their smart devices first when they want to access a website than the computers.

Usability evaluation of Beebyte’s website

Guldager, Nikolai January 2019 (has links)
For companies operating on the web, a high usability on their website are of outmost importance for customers to keep using their services. Over the years many usability principles and methods have been developed to help companies to achieve a high usability on their systems. This thesis aims to help Beebyte identify usability problems on their website, find out how users perceive its usability, and then come up with recommendations on how to improve it. To do this a heuristic evaluation and a user test were conducted. Each user test session was accompanied by a questionnaire and a post-test interview. The result presents several of usability problems found by the heuristic evaluation and the user tests, and a summary of the post-test interviews and questionnaires. The sources of the problems are then analysed, and recommendations are presented based on established usability principles, my own experience in the area and the test participants opinions from the post-test interviews. The questionnaire answers are discussed and analysed to get a better idea on how they rank the website from a usability perspective.

Internet-Based Survey Design for University Web Sites: A Case Study of a Thai University

Vate-U-Lan, Poonsri, poonsri.vate@gmail.com January 2007 (has links)
In recent years with the increasingly world-wide introduction of the Internet, the use of online questionnaires has increased dramatically. However in Thailand, there has been only very limited systematic research on web-based design in Thailand, including for Thai undergraduates who are the biggest group of Thai internet users. The particular characteristics of the Thai language (e.g. no capital letters, no break between words, Thai script etc.) present some interesting challenges for online Thai surveys. This experimental study investigated web-based survey design principles based on an English language background trial at a Thai university with individual interviews and focus groups with the use of think aloud and other research techniques. The findings of two types of web usability tests revealed that the scrolling web-based format was the most suitable for conducting surveys and that such surveys are most likely to attract higher response rates when endorsed by a trusted organization, when instructions are short, simple and specific, when closed and dichotomous questions provide sufficient answer options and when matrix and semantic differential questions are limited. Research also indicates that the font, Ms Sans Serif of size
