Artificial Intelligence-driven web development and agile project management using OpenAI API and GPT technology : A detailed report on technical integration and implementation of GPT models in CMS with API and agile web development for quality user-centered AI chat service experience

This graduation report explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, specifically OpenAI's Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) technology, into web development processes using WordPress (WP) for developing a AI-driven chat service. The focus of the project is on ImagineX AB, a private company that offers the educational service ChatGPT Utbildning aimed at teaching professionals to effectively utilize ChatGPT. The project is motivated by the rapid growth and adoption of AI tools such as ChatGPT, underpinned by the observed increase in user base and its integration into significant platforms, like Microsoft's Bing and Office packages. Despite its promising potential, the application of such AI tools in web development remains underexplored and untested in several aspects. The graduation report presents the implementation of a GPT model-driven chat service on the ChatGPT Utbildning WP website, enabling visitors to interact with the famous AI tool directly. This feature serves a dual purpose – enhancing user engagement and providing an instant demonstration of the utility of ChatGPT. The agile project management methodology in general is divided into four phases: preliminary work, design solutions, develop solution, and delivery – design and development phases are iterative. In this project, there is two design iterations and three development iterations called “cycles”. The project plan is fulfilled with no deviation. Tests and continuous improvements are done throughout the development, with specific and planned in each phase and cycle. The result is two optimized chat bots in respective well-designed chat boxes with full chat functionality driven by OpenAI API and GPT-3.5/GPT-4 models – user tested and then published on ChatGPT Utbildning website. Additionally, insights in agile management solutions in relation to AI tools have been produced. The detailed construction and in-depth discussion contribute to the wide understanding of AI implementation in web development, providing practical insights into the application of ChatGPT in a real-world setting by agile project management. Furthermore, it underscores the transformative potential of AI tools in shaping web solutions and web development, and propelling innovation in the field. The report delves into discussion of technology, ethics, society, and implications on future web development. / Rapporten ämnar redogöra integreringen av artificiell intelligens (AI) instrument, särskilt OpenAI's Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) teknologi, inom ramen för webbutvecklingsprocesser, inklusive agil projektledning, med användning av WordPress (WP), i syfte att utveckla en AIdrivande chatttjänst. Fokus för projektet är på företaget ImagineX AB, en privat aktör som erbjuder en utbildningstjänst benämnd ChatGPT Utbildning med mål att undervisa yrkesverksamma i effektivt bruk av ChatGPT. Motivationen för projektet härstammar från den snabbt växande tillväxten och adoptionen av AI-instrument som ChatGPT, vilket stärks av den observerade tillväxten av användarbasen och dess integrering i betydande plattformar, såsom Microsofts Bing och Office-paket. Trots den lovande potential som dessa AIinstrument innehar, finns det fortfarande delar inom webbutveckling där användningen av sådana verktyg förblir ouppklarade och otillräckligt utforskade. Rapporten visar implementeringen av en GPT-modell-drivande chattjänst på ChatGPT Utbildning WP-webbplatsen, vilket möjliggör direkt interaktion för besökare med det framstående AI-instrumentet. Denna funktion har ett tvåfaldigt ändamål - att förhöja användarengagemang och att ge en omedelbar demonstration av ChatGPT:s användbarhet. Den använda smidiga projektledningsmetodiken är typiskt uppdelad i fyra faser: preliminärt arbete, designlösningar, utvecklingslösningar samt leverans - designoch utvecklingsfaser är iterativa vilket omfattar två designiterationer och tre utvecklingsiterationer refererade till som "cykler". Projektplanen har följts utan avvikelser. Testning och kontinuerliga förbättringar har genomförts under hela utvecklingsprocessen, med specifika och planerade insatser i varje fas och cykel. Resultatet manifesteras i två optimerade chattrobotar inom respektive välutformade chattfönster, med fullständig chattfunktionalitet som drivs av OpenAI API samt GPT-3.5/GPT-4 modellerna - vilka har användartestats och därefter publicerats på ChatGPT Utbildning webbplatsen. Ytterligare insikter rörande agil projektledning i relation till AI-frågor erhålls också. Den detaljerade konstruktionen och den djupgående diskussionen bidrar till en omfattande förståelse för AI-implementering inom webbutveckling och ger praktiska insikter om tillämpningen av ChatGPT i en realistisk inställning med smidig projektledning. Vidare framhäver det den transformerande potentialen hos AI-instrument för att utforma webblösningar och webbutveckling, vilket främjar innovation inom området. Rapporten avslutas med diskussioner kring teknik, etik, samhälle och implikationer för framtida webbutveckling.

This diploma thesis deals with the use of social networks for business support. Its main focus lies in designing a strategy for working with Facebook's social network of Coffee Media s.r.o. The first part of this work summarizes general theoretical knowledge from the field of social networks and competitive intelligence. The individual concepts are explained and the area that the thesis deals with is determined. The second part of this work consists of the proposal of the web solution of Coffee Media. The first is the comparison of individual web site creation options, the key factors and creative requirements are determined, according to which the most suitable solution is then selected. With this solution, websites are subsequently designed and implemented. The third part deals with a detailed analysis of competition in the field of online marketing. Four competing companies are selected and their work with the Facebook social network is analysed. The analysis is carried out using both a customized method and a free specialized tool. Based on this analysis, individual trends in Facebook social networking are determined. The last part proposes detailed strategy for working with the Facebook social network. In this strategy, a publishing plan for contributions is designed and individual advertising campaigns are designed to promote Coffee Media.

E-handelslösningar tillhandahåller inköpsfunktioner för användare på produkter online, men Internetanvändare är känsliga för förseningar. Användare ser webbplatsens laddningstid egenskap. Användarna är även känsliga för kognitiv laddningstid, vilket har att göra med upplevda estetik av en webbplats och mentala modeller som skapas från tidigare interaktion med webbplatser. Omfattningen av examensarbetet är att fyra e-handels content management system (CMSs) jämförs i denna avhandling att se vilka utför med den lägsta sidan laddningstid. dessa är Magento, Drupal med commerce, Wordpress med woocommerce och Joomla med Hikashop. Alla CMS förvandlas till liknande design baserat på en universell tema, med hjälp av twitter bootstrap ramverket. Designen är baserad på tidigare forskning för användarnas mentala modeller för e-handel webbplatser. En fullt fungerande fiktiv plats Fastcommerce utvecklas på dessa fyra CMS. CMSn är fyllda med en kategori sida identiska prov elektroniska produkter (12 artiklar). Produkterna har bilder och lorem ipsum text. Metoden för examensarbetet är experiment. Experimenten utförs för att hitta den sida laddningstid på en lokal miljö. Resultaten visar tydliga resultatförbättringar på alla fyra CMSs efter tillämpade optimeringar. Men några av de optimeringar orsakar negativakonsekvenser prestanda. / E-commerce solutions are providing purchasing capabilities to users on products online, but Internet users are sensitive to delays. In-fact users see page load time as a website feature. Users are also sensitive to cognitive load time, which has to do with perceived aesthetics of a website and mental models which are created from previous interaction with websites.The scope of the thesis is that four commerce content management systems (CMSs) are compared in this thesis to find out which performs with the lowest page load time. These are Magento, Drupal with commerce, Wordpress with woocommerce and Joomla with Hikashop. The CMSs are all pushed to a very similar website design based on one universal theme, using the twitter bootstrap mobile first responsive framework. The design is based on previousresearch of users mental models for e-commerce websites. A fully functional fictional site Fastcommerce is developed on the four CMSs. The CMSs are filled with one category page of identical sample electronic products (12 items). The products have images and lorem ipsum text. The method of the thesis are experiments. The experiments are conducted to find the page load time on a local environment. The results show clear performance improvements on all four CMSs after applied optimizations. But some of the optimizations cause negative performance consequences.

Målet med detta praktiska examensarbete var att ta fram ett färdigt förslag på en ny startsida åt en idrottsorganisation för dess webbplats byggd på WordPress. Detta har åstadkommits genom att ha analyserat den befintliga startsidan samt fyra utomstående idrottsorganisationers webbplatsers startsidor. Analysen resulterade i en Low-Fidelity Wireframe över flödet på den nya startsidan, samt en hårdkodad High-Fidelity Prototyp. Det hela mynnade ut i ett WordPress Child-tema till idrottsorganisationens webbplats befintliga Parent-tema som var väl anpassad efter idrottsorganisationens önskemål och krav, samt byggd med responsivitet i åtanke för att möta den växande skara besökare på mobila enheter. / The goal with this practical thesis was to develop a finished proposal of a new home page to a sport organization for its website built on WordPress. This has been achieved by analyzing the existing home page, as well as the home page of four external sports organization’s websites. The analysis resulted in a Low-Fidelity Wireframe showing the main flow of the new home page, as well as a hard coded High-Fidelity Prototype. It all resulted in a WordPress Child-theme to the existing Parent-theme for the sport organization’s website that was well adapted to the organization’s wishes and demands, and built with responsive web design in mind to meet the growing group of visitors on mobile devices.

Container Hosts as Virtual Machines : A performance study

Virtualization is a technique used to abstract the operating system from the hardware. The primary gains of virtualization is increased server consolidation, leading to greater hardware utilization and infrastructure manageability. Another technology that can be used to achieve similar goals is containerization. Containerization is an operating-system level virtualization technique which allows applications to run in partial isolation on the same hardware. Containerized applications share the same Linux kernel but run in packaged containers which includes just enough binaries and libraries for the application to function. In recent years it has become more common to see hardware virtualization beneath the container host operating systems. An upcoming technology to further this development is VMware’s vSphere Integrated Containers which aims to integrate management of Linux Containers with the vSphere (a hardware virtualization platform by VMware) management interface. With these technologies as background we set out to measure the impact of hardware virtualization on Linux Container performance by running a suite of macro-benchmarks on a LAMP-application stack. We perform the macro-benchmarks on three different operating systems (CentOS, CoreOS and Photon OS) in order to see if the choice of container host affects the performance. Our results show a decrease in performance when comparing a hardware virtualized container host to a container hosts running directly on the hardware. However, the impact on containerized application performance can vary depending on the actual application, the choice of operating system and even the type of operation performed. It is therefore important to consider these three items before implementing container hosts as virtual machines.
