Impact of corporate casual wear on productivity in the workplace

Hernandez, Joe Luis 01 January 2001 (has links)
In today's workplace there are many reasons why businesses are encouraging their workforce to dress in a more casual manner. Personnel within the workforce who dress casually report improvements ranging from morale to customer relations after the implementation of more relaxed dress codes. It will also be necessary to consider whether or not business casual dress facilitates the tearing down of social and communication barriers.

Det är viktigt, men utmanande : En intervjustudie om chefers upplevelse av arbetsmiljöutveckling / It is challenging, but important : An interview study about managers' experience of work environment development

Johansson, Jessica, Nyberg, Helen January 2020 (has links)
In a 2018 study, the Swedish Work Environment Authority found that 28% of active workers in Sweden experienced some form of work-related problem. Managers in an organization are responsible for maintaining and developing the work environment. The present study aims to investigate municipal operation managers' perception of the process of work environment development in their operations. We asked the following question to examine managers' perceptions: What opportunities and challenges do managers encounter in the development of the work environment? Ten interviews were conducted with department managers in various sectors of a municipality to investigate our question. A thematic analysis performed on the data revealed four overall themes. The results demonstrate that department managers perceive the development of work environment to be important but challenging. Challenges to the development of work environment arose when managers' priorities were out of sync with those of the rest of the organization. It was also difficult to manage the psychosocial work environment, as individuals each required unique interventions. Successful work environment development occurred when employees were engaged and involved in the process and had pertinent support from the human resources office. The present study demonstrates that although managers experience limitations in maintaining and developing work environment, their personal commitment to the task allows them to work towards continuous improvement.

Quality of work environment for counselor education faculty.

McCortney, Amy Louise 05 1900 (has links)
Though counselor education has always acknowledged the importance of work in the lives of individuals, there is a dearth of information concerning the worklives of counselor education faculty. The purpose of this study was to explore work and life variables that impact the work experiences of faculty members in counselor education. This study examined demographic or life variables including gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, relationship status, and parenting status; and work-related variables including rank, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, salary equity, mentoring, teaching activities, service activities, publication for collaboration, and decision-making representation. Three hundred and twenty-eight counselor education faculty members across the United States participated in the study. Participants completed a mailed questionnaire including demographic information, quantitative survey questions, and related qualitative items designed to investigate work and life factors impacting the subjective work experiences of counselor educators. Chi-square analyses and analysis of qualitative responses related to four research hypotheses indicated that experience of the work environment for counselor educators is impacted by gender, tenure rank, age, and relationship status. Post-hoc analysis indicated that work experiences are also impacted by ethnicity, sexual orientation, and parenting status. Results also indicated a need for continuing attention to the effects of rank, salary equity, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and decision-making representation in counselor education programs. Results of this study suggested implications for future research in counselor education and counseling.

Arbetsmiljö inom socialförvaltningen : en kvalitativ studie om tjänstemännens arbetssituation / Work environment within the social administration : a qualitative study on the work situation of the officials

Kastsiukevich, Hannah-Sara January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this qualitative study is to increase the understanding of the employees' own experience of their work environment in the social administration, and the possible risks that the work environment may include. The study was conducted with semi-structured interviews that came to be thematized and presented in the results. The results obtained in the study are presented through three themes; Expectation and Reality, Collaboration and Development. There are parts that social service officials find to be more evident than others, and these are the risk factors that were highlighted through these themes. However, the risk factors that emerged were not those expected according to the research review, but the internal factors (structures, action plans, collaboration, etc.) were found to be more important than the previously expected external factors (meetings with clients, political decisions, etc.). This meant that there was a greater interest in what further research might find based on the assumption of the internal effects of social management. The theory that the study used to interpret the results of success and a sustainable way of working for social service officials is the salutogenic perspective and the work's premise based on KASAM.
