Berufliche Leistung im Kontext dynamischer Arbeitsumwelten - Empirische Untersuchungen der Struktur und Korrelate von Adaptive Performance / Job Performance in the Context of Dynamic Work Environments - Empirical Studies of the Structure and Correlates of Adaptive Performance

Findeisen, André 22 July 2020 (has links)

Measuring Natural Resource Scarcity Under Common Property Environment and Uncertainty: An Interpretive Analysis

Ghosh, Soumendra N. 01 May 1987 (has links)
The issue of natural resource scarcity has so far been addressed in the literature on the basis of various measures such as the unit cost of production, the relative market price, and the shadow price of a resource. Although it has been recognized that there exists some kind of jointness (sometimes inseparable) between an extractible resource and its surrounding environment, none of the measures, either theoretically or empirically, have included this concern. In order to extract and use a natural resource (e.g., coal) the environment (air, water, etc.) must also be used as a repository of the discharged wastes (e.g., sulphur oxides, nitrous oxides, particulates, etc.) . Moreover, if there is a mandated level of the environmental resource (e. g., clean air) that has to be maintained, then certain additional costs must be borne by society (firms utilizing the resource). Thus, in evaluating the scarcity of an extractible resource, the relative position of the environmental resource also must be evaluated. The present study has incorporated such jointness in the evaluation of the measure of resource scarcity. The theoretical model has been developed in an optimal control framework. It has been analytically shown that this new measure of resource scarcity would indicate a different trend compared to earlier ones. The measure of resource scarcity developed in this study captures previous measures as special cases. In an uncertain world, when the impacts of use of an extractible resource on the environment is not known the stock size of the environmental resource becomes uncertain. It has been analytically shown that in a situation of uncertain environmental stock the scarcity indicator would indicate a relatively slower extraction compared to that of a deterministic world. Empirical investigations in this study suggest that coal in use might be becoming relatively scarce if one considers the use of it in the electricity industry as the major use, compared to a situation where no environmental concerns are in effect.

The No-fault dissolution of marriage act in Oregon: a study of its effect on selected factors

Armstrong, Dennis Arthur 01 January 1976 (has links)
In October of 1972, the Dissolution of Marriage Act (hereinafter referred to as the Act) became a part of the law and judicial practice of the state of Oregon. The Act represents a significant change in Oregon's law. It also represents a significant evolutionary development in the 'attitude of the legal community toward the process of divorce or as it is now termed, dissolution of marriage. The Act was a response to extensive criticism from professionals and from the public. The problem is the legislators were not sure of the effects of the Act and now that it is in effect there is still little or no objective data regarding its effectiveness. This study is an exploratory attempt to evaluate the consequences of the Act, the accomplishment of its stated purposes and its impact upon the process of dissolution and the people involved.

Dovolání / Appeal

Pomije, Michal January 2021 (has links)
1 Abstract Diploma thesis - Appeal This diploma thesis deals with the legal regulation of one of the extraordinary remedies of the Czech civil process - appeal. The first goal of my diploma thesis was to introduce systematic rules and extraordinary means in general and to add permits to their system, while in the first chapter I further analyzed the corrective systems according to which the scope of control activities of the court is determined. The legal regulation of permits has undergone the existence of dynamic changes during its existence, another, and primary, the aim of this work was described by the current legislation allowing and further outline the development of permitting legislation, which was returned as an extraordinary remedy in 1991. One of the other goals I chose is the description of the new concept of the legal regulation of permission, the regular remedy, which is regulated in the draft of the new Civil Code of the Ministry of Justice - the substantive intent of the Civil Procedure Code. According to the authors of the substantive intent of the introduced larger economic court proceedings, the change of permission to an ordinary appeal. According to the authors of the substantive intent, an important element would be a higher degree of legal certainty for the participants in the...

Moral Order and the Influence of Social Christianity in an Industrial City, 1890-1899: A Social Profile of the Protestant Lay Leaders of Three Hamilton Churches --Centenary Methodist, Central Presbyterian and Christ's Church Cathedral

MacLean Hanlon , Peter Francis 10 1900 (has links)
In the late nineteenth century, traditional Protestant social thought which stressed the idea of individual regeneration underwent a gradual readjustment to include the reforming impulse directed towards saving society from the collective ills of industrial life. In order to understand more precisely the origin and nature of this transformation, this study examines the social composition of three Hamilton churches --Centenary Methodist, Central Presbyterian and Christ's Church Cathedral --from 1890 to 1899, a critical decade in the history of religious and secular arrangements in Canada. It is premised on the proposition that local congregations provided the immediate context in which the new social gospel was often developed; they were the recipients of its message and their susceptibility to it would deeply affect its future course. This study belies the uncritical view of businessmen as heroic "Captains of Industry" or as unfeeling exploiters of an underprivileged working class. The high degree to which most of the lay leaders participated in the business and spiritual affairs of their church and the range of their community interests is suggestive of the extent to which the sacred and the secular were intertwined. Drawn from the middle classes, they saw themselves as directing agents responsible for the material, moral and social well-being of society. At the center of their belief system was the notion that practical consistency in character and conduct must form the basis of a rational capitalistic organization of industrial labor. While most of the lay leaders would never make the shift to the social gospel associated with the new liberalism, their action in manifesting a robust Protestant spirit engaged with social ills as they saw them clearly set a mood of social optimism and a style of activism on which the social gospel could thrive. / Thesis / Master of Arts (MA)

Anonymous Pseudo-Autobiographies: Passing the New Southern Studies in <em>The Southerner</em> and <em>The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man</em>

Dinger, Matthew S. 30 November 2010 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis seeks to understand the South as a space through which the contested bodies of two literary characters and the men who authored them can be more fully explored: the Ex- Colored Man in James Weldon Johnson's The Autobiography of an Ex-Colored Man and Nicholas Worth in Walter Hines Page's The Southerner; each appearing within an early twentieth-century novel masquerading as an autobiography. These bodies serve to help us understand how the regional Other of the South has inflicted itself on individuals living in the South and caused an irreparable fracture to the characters' identities forcing them into passing roles in lives they do not see as their own. This passing allows the characters to adopt a new persona in the communities that they inhabit, but never permits them to inhabit new bodies themselves. They are always left with the perception that they do not corporeally belong and the anxiety that the "truth" about their body might be exposed at any moment. Ultimately, the thesis also challenges the notion of passing as merely racial and explores other forms of passing, especially ones dealing with geography (i.e. a Southerner passing as a Northerner) and explains that the New Southern Studies needs to find ways to examine the South that are not dependent on racial binaries.
