The ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family of small G-proteins regulates membrane dynamics and intracellular membrane traffic. ARFs are activated upon GTP-binding catalyzed by guanine-nucleotide exchange factors (GEF), which works as a molecular switch and triggers association with specific target membranes. This work focused on the cloning, expression and characterization of genes from the milk yeast K. lactis and the fly D. melanogaster, which are putative homologs of the S. cerevisiae genes GEA1, GEA2, ARF1, ARF2, and ARF3.

German text / Das Ziel dieser Masterarbeit ist, das gesellschaftlich aktuelle Thema der Inklusion in einen missionstheologischen Kontext einzuordnen und Folgerungen für die kirchliche Praxis zu ziehen. In einem ersten Schritt wird der interdisziplinäre Forschungstand zum Thema Exklusion und Inklusion in Deutschland diskutiert sowie dargestellt wie komplex und schwierig überwindbar Exklusion ist. In der biblisch-theologischen Einordnung wird aufgezeigt, dass die inhaltliche Ausrichtung der aktuellen „Inklusionsdebatte“ in biblischen Texten und Motiven wiederzufinden ist und Jesus im Neuen Testament ein Beispiel für Inklusion gegeben hat. Inklusion wird dabei als Konzept zur Transformation gesellschaftlicher Bezüge und Strukturen verstanden, mit dem Ziel Exklusion zu verhindern und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe zu ermöglichen. Zur theologischen Reflexion und Einordnung dieses Themenkomplexes werden die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse missionstheologisch ausgewertet und Überschneidungen mit weiteren biblischtheologischen und missionstheologischen Konzepten dargestellt. Auf diesem Fundament werden abschließend Ansätze entwickelt, wie Inklusion heute in Kirche und Mission praktisch verortet werden kann. / This dissertation aims at relating the societal issue of inclusion into the context of a theology of mission. It asks which conclusions can be drawn for church life. Firstly, the interdisciplinary state of research on exclusion and inclusion is discussed within a German context. It is shown how complex exclusion is and how difficult to overcome. Biblical contrasting shows that the current topical focus of inclusion is found in biblical texts and motifs and that Jesus has set an example for inclusion. Here, ‘inclusion’ is understood as transforming structures and societal relations to prevent exclusion and enable partaking in social life. Theological reflection and justification are achieved by analysing the results from a theology of mission’s perspective and identifying shared grounds to other theological concepts and ones from a theology of mission. In my dissertation, I discuss three of Akın’s feature films: Im Juli (In July, 2000), Gegen die Wand (Head-On, 2004), and Auf der anderen Seite (The Edge of Heaven, 2007) in order to investigate Akın’s filmic visions of Europe. Through close textual readings, I analyze three aspects of his films in particular: the spatial conceptions of Europe (city- and landscapes), the sounds of Europe (music and languages) as well as the display of ethnic minorities and the changing urban demography in Germany and Europe. I argue that Akın employs an “aesthetic of heterogeneity” to portray his filmic Europe as a diverse space, in which multiethnic and multilingual music, people, and sceneries are juxtaposed with regions that often have been perceived historically and politically as distinct and complicated. My first chapter discusses Akın’s conceptions and depictions of European Space in In July. By analyzing city- and landscapes, soundscapes, and dynamic spaces in In July, I argue that Akın provides a dynamic, fluctuating, and interconnected European space, including Eastern Europe and Turkey. In my second chapter, I scrutinize language use and dialogue in Head-On to map out the changing demographics in European urban spaces. Ultimately, I argue that Akın moves beyond Hamid Naficy’s theory of “accented cinema” by including accented languages and dialects for all protagonists, including Western Europeans. Through this linguistic polyphony, multilingualism and a diversity of accents are depicted as integral elements of today’s Europe. In my final chapter, I discuss the sound of Europe as depicted in The Edge of Heaven. Looking particularly at music (and music lyrics) in the film, I argue that Akın’s use of dubbed and remixed music (especially by the artist Shantel) underscores Akın’s filmic challenges to (national) European borders. By foregrounding the mixed styles of music, where an “original” becomes hard to decipher, the director shows, on an aural level, that blurring boundaries and multidirectional movement are the predominant components of today’s Europe. / text

Die heterogene Struktur von aus Rattenhirn isolierten Synaptischen Vesikeln wird untersucht mittels Daten aus Kleinwinkel-Röntgenstreuexperimenten unter Berücksichtigung von Daten erhalten durch cryogene Elektronenmikroskopie, dynamische Lichtstreuung und biochemische Analysen. Es werden niedrig aufgelöste Strukturmodelle des funktionellen Synaptischen Vesikels unter quasi-physiologischen Bedingungen vorgeschlagen. Details des Dichteprofils der Membran, einschließlich Beiträgen von Lipiden und Proteinen werden bestimmt. Die typische Konformation und die allgemeine laterale Organisation der Proteine in Mikrodomänen werden ermittelt. Entropische Beiträge zur freien Energie aufgrund möglicher Bildung und Auflösung der Proteinmikrodomänen auf dem Synaptischen Vesikel werden untersucht. Ferner werden zellfreie Fusionssysteme mittels dynamischer Lichtstreudaten charakterisiert und mögliche Anwendungen von Kleinwinkel-Röntgenstreuung für die Untersuchung von Membran-Fusionsprozessen erörtert.
