A UEPA-EAJ (Unidade de Extra??o de Produtos Ap?colas, da Escola Agr?cola de Jundia?) ? um centro de atividades, estudos e pesquisas ap?colas do RN. Esse trabalho prop?s ent?o o desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta com recursos computacionais de automa??o e controle com os objetivos de auxiliar e dar um maior embasamento aos estudos e pesquisas realizadas pela UEPA-EAJ, bem como o de facilitar atividades cotidianas presentes no manejo do api?rio dessa unidade. A ferramenta concebida, denominada Beehiveior, foi dividida em dois m?dulos independentes: uma central de automa??o e controle, respons?vel pela coleta e envio de dados das colmeias, e um aplicativo Web, com a fun??o de processar, armazenar e exibir os dados coletados. Foi utilizado hardware de baixo custo, reciclado e/ou de f?cil obten??o para constru??o da central. O projeto possui como resultados o aplicativo Web, os c?digos-fontes e esquemas de automa??o, o relato dos experimentos realizados e um comparativo do Beehiveior com os trabalhos relacionados. Beekeeping, currently defined as the rational creation of bees, is a global economic activity that annually moves a millionaire market. The efficient development of beekeeping involves numerous challenges in many aspects, ranging from daily activities to keep the apiary until monitor the behavior of bees and the apiary environment. The UEPA-EAJ (an unit for explore bee products at Jundia??s agricultural school) is a center for activities, studies and research on beekeeping in Brazil-RN. This work proposes the development of tool with computational resources and composed by automation and control devices, with the goal to give a better basis for the studies and researches carried out by UEPA-EAJ, as well to improve the daily activities to maintain the apiary of this unit. The developed tool, called beehiveior, was split in two modules that works independents: one piece for automation and control, which collects and sends hive's data, and a web application that processes, stores and displays the collected data. Low cost hardware, recyclable and/or easily found was used in build process of automation piece. The project leaves as result the web application, automation codes, the report of the experiments and a comparative analysis of the Beehiveior against the related works. Currently the project is able to monitor some data from hive such temperature and humidity, send collected data by an Ethernet wired network or by transfer the data stored locally on a memory card and display these values in the Web application showing them with charts and tables.

It also describes the method for the development of a home automation project using concepts of IoT and the Arduino platform. The proposed system has, in addition to low cost, a friendly interface, and consists of an application for smartphones and control sensors for household appliances such as lamps and air conditioners. The development of this system was made through the use of infrared transmitters and receivers, XBee radio frequency modules and Arduino microcontrolled platforms, in some versions, and microcontrolled ESP8266.

Machine Learning Methods for Visual Object Detection / Apprentissage machine pour la détection des objets

Le but de cette thèse est de développer des méthodes pratiques plus performantes pour la détection d'instances de classes d'objets de la vie quotidienne dans les images. Nous présentons une famille de détecteurs qui incorporent trois types d'indices visuelles performantes – histogrammes de gradients orientés (Histograms of Oriented Gradients, HOG), motifs locaux binaires (Local Binary Patterns, LBP) et motifs locaux ternaires (Local Ternary Patterns, LTP) – dans des méthodes de discrimination efficaces de type machine à vecteur de support latent (Latent SVM), sous deux régimes de réduction de dimension – moindres carrées partielles (Partial Least Squares, PLS) et sélection de variables par élagage de poids SVM (SVM Weight Truncation). Sur plusieurs jeux de données importantes, notamment ceux du PASCAL VOC2006 et VOC2007, INRIA Person et ETH Zurich, nous démontrons que nos méthodes améliorent l'état de l'art du domaine. Nos contributions principales sont : – Nous étudions l'indice visuelle LTP pour la détection d'objets. Nous démontrons que sa performance est globalement mieux que celle des indices bien établies HOG et LBP parce qu'elle permet d'encoder à la fois la texture locale de l'objet et sa forme globale, tout en étant résistante aux variations d'éclairage. Grâce à ces atouts, LTP fonctionne aussi bien pour les classes qui sont caractérisées principalement par leurs structures que pour celles qui sont caractérisées par leurs textures. En plus, nous démontrons que les indices HOG, LBP et LTP sont bien complémentaires, de sorte qu'un jeux d'indices étendu qui intègre tous les trois améliore encore la performance. – Les jeux d'indices visuelles performantes étant de dimension assez élevée, nous proposons deux méthodes de réduction de dimension afin d'améliorer leur vitesse et réduire leur utilisation de mémoire. La première, basée sur la projection moindres carrés partielles, diminue significativement le temps de formation des détecteurs linéaires, sans réduction de précision ni perte de vitesse d'exécution. La seconde, fondée sur la sélection de variables par l'élagage des poids du SVM, nous permet de réduire le nombre d'indices actives par un ordre de grandeur avec une réduction minime, voire même une petite augmentation, de la précision du détecteur. Malgré sa simplicité, cette méthode de sélection de variables surpasse toutes les autres approches que nous avons mis à l'essai. – Enfin, nous décrivons notre travail en cours sur une nouvelle variété d'indice visuelle – les « motifs locaux quantifiées » (Local Quantized Patterns, LQP). LQP généralise les indices existantes LBP / LTP en introduisant une étape de quantification vectorielle – ce qui permet une souplesse et une puissance analogue aux celles des approches de reconnaissance visuelle « sac de mots », qui sont basées sur la quantification des régions locales d'image considérablement plus grandes – sans perdre la simplicité et la rapidité qui caractérisent les approches motifs locales actuelles parce que les résultats de la quantification puissent être pré-compilés et stockés dans un tableau. LQP permet une augmentation considérable de la taille du support local de l'indice, et donc de sa puissance discriminatoire. Nos expériences indiquent qu'elle a la meilleure performance de toutes les indices visuelles testés, y compris HOG, LBP et LTP. / The goal of this thesis is to develop better practical methods for detecting common object classes in real world images. We present a family of object detectors that combine Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG), Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and Local Ternary Pattern (LTP) features with efficient Latent SVM classifiers and effective dimensionality reduction and sparsification schemes to give state-of-the-art performance on several important datasets including PASCAL VOC2006 and VOC2007, INRIA Person and ETHZ. The three main contributions are as follows. Firstly, we pioneer the use of Local Ternary Pattern features for object detection, showing that LTP gives better overall performance than HOG and LBP, because it captures both rich local texture and object shape information while being resistant to variations in lighting conditions. It thus works well both for classes that are recognized mainly by their structure and ones that are recognized mainly by their textures. We also show that HOG, LBP and LTP complement one another, so that an extended feature set that incorporates all three of them gives further improvements in performance. Secondly, in order to tackle the speed and memory usage problems associated with high-dimensional modern feature sets, we propose two effective dimensionality reduction techniques. The first, feature projection using Partial Least Squares, allows detectors to be trained more rapidly with negligible loss of accuracy and no loss of run time speed for linear detectors. The second, feature selection using SVM weight truncation, allows active feature sets to be reduced in size by almost an order of magnitude with little or no loss, and often a small gain, in detector accuracy. Despite its simplicity, this feature selection scheme outperforms all of the other sparsity enforcing methods that we have tested. Lastly, we describe work in progress on Local Quantized Patterns (LQP), a generalized form of local pattern features that uses lookup table based vector quantization to provide local pattern style pixel neighbourhood codings that have the speed of LBP/LTP and some of the flexibility and power of traditional visual word representations. Our experiments show that LQP outperforms all of the other feature sets tested including HOG, LBP and LTP.

The outsourcing of work force should be used as main condition in reduction of these costs. This document presents a new model for implementation of the WFM associated with a Service level Agreement (SLA) with performance indicators and targets pre-established in a signed contract between the parties, and focused on the macro process for guarantee of quality in the enhanced Telecommunications Operation Map (eTOM). It consists of a micro-indenter which is driven by a gear system driven by three-rectified. The sample to be tested is placed on a table that contains a load cell that measures the deformation in the sample during the penetration of micro-indenter. With this prototype it is possible to measure the elastic deformation of the material obtained by calculating the depth of penetration in the sample from the difference of turns between the start of load application to the application of the load test and return the indenter until the complete termination of load application. To determine the hardness was used to measure the depth of plastic deformation. We used 7 types of steel trade to test the apparatus. There was a dispersion of less than 10% for five measurements made on each sample and a good agreement with the values of firmness provided by the manufacturers. / Nesse trabalho ? desenvolvido um prot?tipo para an?lise din?mica e quantitativa da dureza de superf?cies met?licas atrav?s de ensaios de penetra??o. Para determina??o da dureza foi utilizada a medida da profundidade de deforma??o pl?stica. Foram utilizados 07 tipos de a?os comerciais para teste do aparato. Verificou-se uma dispers?o inferior a 10% para cinco medi??es efetuadas em cada amostra e uma boa concord?ncia com os valores de dureza fornecidos pelos fabricantes.

However, alarms and events are often confused and improperly configured similarly by developers of automation systems. This practice results in a high amount of pseudo-alarms during the operation of industrial processes. The high number of alarms is a major obstacle to improving operational efficiency, making it difficult to identify problems and increasing the time to respond to abnormalities. The main consequences of this scenario are the increased risk to personal safety, facilities, environment deterioration and loss of production. The aim of this paper is to present a philosophy for setting up a system of supervision and control, developed with the aim of reducing the amount of pseudo-alarms and increase reliability of the information that the system provides. A real case study was conducted in the automation system of the offshore production of hydrocarbons from Petrobras in Rio Grande do Norte, in order to validate the application of this new methodology. The work followed the premises of the tool presented in ISA SP18.2. 2009, called "life cycle alarm . The solution we find by to collect datas from meters at customers units: voltage, current, power demand, angles conditions of phasors diagrams of voltages and currents, and taking these datas by fuzzy logic with expert knowledge into a fuzzy system. The parameters collected are computed by fuzzy logic, in engineering alghorithm, and the output shows to user if the customer researched may be consuming electrical energy without to pay for it, and these feedbacks have its own membership grades. The value of this solution is a need for reduce the losses that already sets more than twenty per cent. In such a way that it is an expert system that looks for decision make with assertivity, and it looks forward to find which problems there are on site and then it wont happen problems of relationship among the utility and the customer unit. The database of an electrical company was utilized and the datas from it were worked by the fuzzy proposal and algorithm developed and the result was confirmed / Este trabalho apresenta uma proposta para automa??o da detec??o de fraudes em sistemas de medi??o de energia el?trica utilizando l?gica fuzzy em ambiente SCADA. A solu??o consiste na coleta de vari?veis em pontos de medi??o de energia el?trica, tais como tens?o, corrente, demanda, condi??es angulares de diagramas fasoriais de tens?es e correntes, quedas de consumo e de demanda entre per?odos de faturamento e a tratativa destes par?metros via l?gica fuzzy fazendo uso do conhecimento de especialistas na ?rea. Os valores coletados via supervis?rio s?o tratados de forma fuzzy, em algoritmo de engenharia, e a sa?da do sistema informa ao usu?rio quais as possibilidades de fraude no sistema de medi??o da unidade consumidora cuja mem?ria de massa das vari?veis coletadas tenha sido pesquisada pelo algoritmo e assim estabelece graus de possibilidades para estas ocorr?ncias. A import?ncia da solu??o apresentada ? fun??o da necessidade de o setor el?trico reduzir o alto ?ndice de perdas que j? superou vinte por cento. Trata-se portanto de um sistema especialista para tomada de decis?o buscando assertividade e disparo de a??es de campo com direcionamento ao problema a ser encontrado, minimizando os impactos negativos de visitas improdutivas de inspe??o em unidades consumidoras. O sistema foi testado e validado fazendo-se uso de banco de dados real de concession?ria de distribui??o de energia el?trica, cuja coleta foi realizada por sistema supervis?rio j? existente e a tratativa dos dados foi implementada pela proposta fuzzy apresentada e pelo algoritmo neste trabalho desenvolvido

With this advance, the amount of information that automation systems are subjected to increased significantly. The alarms generated by the monitoring equipment are a major contributor to this increase, and the equipments are usually deployed in industrial plants without a formal methodology, which entails an increase in the number of alarms generated, thus overloading the alarm system and therefore the operators of such plants. In this context, the works of alarm management comes up with the objective of defining a formal methodology for installation of new equipment and detect problems in existing settings. This thesis aims to propose a set of metrics for the evaluation of alarm systems already deployed, so that you can identify the health of this system by analyzing the proposed indices and comparing them with parameters defined in the technical norms of alarm management. In addition, the metrics will track the work of alarm management, verifying if it is improving the quality of the alarm system. To validate the proposed metrics, data from actual process plants of the petrochemical industry were used / A evolu??o da automa??o nos ?ltimos anos tornou poss?vel o monitoramento cont?nuo dos processos de plantas industriais. Os alarmes gerados pelos equipamentos de monitora??o s?o um dos principais respons?veis por esse aumento, sendo que eles geralmente s?o implantados nas plantas industriais sem uma metodologia formal, o que acarreta um aumento do n?mero de alarmes gerados, sobrecarregando, assim, os sistemas de alarmes e por consequ?ncia os operadores dessas plantas. Neste contexto, o trabalho de gerenciamento de alarmes surge com o objetivo de definir uma metodologia formal para a instala??o de novos equipamentos e detectar problemas nas configura??es existentes.
