Este estudo sobre as redefinições das noções de gênero entre o grupo de batukadeiras de São Martinho Grande (Ilha de Santiago, Cabo Verde) visa analisar, a partir de suas trajetórias pessoais/profissionais, as performances das corporeidades femininas e masculinas no batuko, no ku torno e nas narrativas das letras de música. A reflexão apresentada parte da observação de que nessas performances emergem formas diferenciadas de se pensar os corpos femininos e masculinos e as relações de gênero, em direção a uma possível subversão das relações de poder entre homens e mulheres. Discuto como as noções estéticas do fazer batuko e tchabeta permitem-nos pensar os sentidos múltiplos dados ao batuko na relação entre as corporeidades de gênero e a realização do projeto individual de ser batukadeira profissional. / This study on redefinitions of gender relations among the group of batukadeiras of São Martinho Grande (Santiago Island, Cape Verde) attempts to analyze, through the batukadeira's personal and professional trajectories, the performance of female and male corporalities in the performative genres called batuko and ku torno, as well as in the batuko lyrics. The reflection presented departs from the observation that different ways to conceive female and male bodies and gender relations emerge from these performances, towards a possible subversion of power relations between men and women. Thus I discuss how aesthetic notions of making batuko and tchabeta allow us to think about the multiple senses given to batuko in the relation between gender corporalities and the individual achievement to become a professional batukadeira.

Este trabalho é uma etnografia com a comunidade do Ilê Asè Omi Olodô, terreiro de Batuque localizado na Vila São José, em Porto Alegre, realizada no período de 2011 a 2013. Essa comunidade de terreiro se assemelha à maioria dos terreiros da cidade em termos socioeconômicos, localizando-se em uma região periférica; contudo, é uma comunidade que se diferencia pelo posicionamento político ao refletir míticosocialmente sobre si mesma. Desse modo, o foco da presente etnografia é a descrição da eco(cosmo)logia de matriz africana observada em campo, considerando que ela se faz entre-dois mundos, o “ocidental” e o de matriz africana. Essa dissertação percorre a narrativa dessa experiência com a comunidade dentro e fora do terreiro, buscando explicitar essa forma de habitar (entre) dois mundos. A partir dessa perspectiva, buscase demonstrar que há uma metodologia do ambiente que inicia no corpo. O ambientecorpo é percebido na relação entre os momentos cotidianos e os momentos rituais; entre eles, percebe-se o fazer-se das habilidades e das potências que emergem da orisálidade. Assim, a Antropologia Ecológica de Tim Ingold contribui para narrar o aprendizado obtido na vivência no Ilê Asè Omi Olodô enquanto localidade cosmopolítica. Além disso, a narrativa se orienta no sentido de descrever a vivência da afrocentridade, da ancestralidade, da oralidade, da complementaridade e da circularidade. / This work is an ethnography of community from Ilê Asè Omi Olodô (terreiro de Batuque) located in Vila Sao Jose in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from 2011 up to 2013. This terreiro shares attributes with other terreiros, such as their peripheral location in the city and their ritual practices. It is very distinct, however, in terms of political orientation and self-reflective practices over mythical and social themes. Therefore, this research work aims to describe the eco(cosmo)logy – rooted in African origins – observed in the field, considering that it is established between two worlds, occidental-based and African-based. From that standpoint, the objective is to demonstrate the existence of a methodology of the environment whose starting point is the body. The bodyenvironment is perceived in the relation of the daily and the ritual moments; among them, it is possible to see the abilities and potentialities emerged from the orisálidade. Hence, the Ecological Antropology by Tim Ingold contributes to narrate the learning process experienced in Ilê Asè Omi Olodô as a cosmopolitical location. Besides, the narrative is oriented in order to describe the experience of afrocentricity, ancestrality, oral tradition, complementarity and circularity.

Para tanto foi escolhida, especificamente o "Batuque" da Suíte "Reisado do Pastoreio" do compositor Oscar Lorenzo Fernândez, uma das obras brasileiras de maior riqueza musical e reconhecimento no cenário internacional. Esta pesquisa tem como justificativa a contribuição para o enriquecimento da bibliografia técnica brasileira em práticas interpretativas e também da discografia, através de dois Cds que acompanham esta dissertação, uma vez que faltam materiais de suporte disponíveis para o estudo deste gênero musical. A metodologia constou de: leitura de bibliografia especifica para um estudo das origens do termo batuque, as características das práticas musicais e de danças dos negros afro-brasileiros desde o período colonial, suas transformações até as primeiras décadas do século XX, em seguida um paralelo com a trajetória do compositor e sua produção musical, uma análise formal, uma análise interpretativa e comparativa com mais duas execuções distintas desta peça. Entre os resultados obtidos, contam-se a aplicação de conhecimentos teóricos na prática interpretativa; a contribuição para maior entendimento deste repertorio especifico assim como abertura para uma nova perspectiva à pesquisa musical; além de fornecer material útil para o ensino de música de câmara e de prática orquestral / Abstract: This research had the main object to present a possibility of performing the Brazilian symphonic music formed by afro-Brazilian influences, very little explorered by our performers. For that, was chosen particularly the "Batuque" from Suite "Reisado do Pastoreio" composed by Oscar Lorenzo Fernandez, one of the Brazilian woks full of musical richness and recognition at the international environment. This research had as justification, the contribution for the enrichment of the Brazilian technical bibliography in performing practices and discography through two CDs which join the dissertation, once that there is a lack of support material for the study of this kind of music. The methodology, at first, has consisted of the reading of particularly bibliography about the genesis of the term batuque and the characteristics of the musical practices and the dances of the afro-Brazilian Negroes since the colonial period until their changes during the first decades of the twentieth century. After that a parallel was described between the composer's path and his musical production. At last one formal analysis was made of Lorenzo Fernandez's batuque and one performing and comparative analysis was made between our performance and two different others of this piece. The results of this research showed that the theoretical knowledges were applicable at the performance practice and the contribution for the greatest comprehension of music with afro-Brazilian influences; opening a new perspective for musical research besides making available useful material for teaching chamber music and orchestral music / Mestrado / Mestre em Artes

Cada um desses enfoques adiciona uma importância diferente para a presença negra na poesia de Bruno de Menezes, nosso objeto de investigação, daí ser possível deduzir, o que acreditamos ser de fundamental importância, não nos subtrairmos a nenhuma das abordagens ressaltadas. A obra que doravante analisaremos intitula-se Batuque, do poeta supracitado, obra esta responsável por inscrever no contexto da literatura amazônica, e mais que isso, no seio da cultura de cunho nacional, um novo capítulo, isto é, uma nova perspectiva acerca da condição do negro na sociedade brasileira. Aliando-se a essas perspectivas, acrescentaremos o ponto de vista do filósofo alemão Friedrich Nietzsche, como arcabouço teórico para as problematizações que pretendemos levantar no decorrer do texto. A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar a influência do processo civilizador europeu versus negro e os cerceamentos (culturais/religiosos) decorrentes dessa influência, assim como as consequências negativas que incidirão sobre a perspectiva que o negro tem acerca de seu próprio corpo e lugar na cultura, muitas delas também provenientes da visão de mundo cristã que lhes foi imposta. / The theme of black literature has occupied more space in the discussions and debates around the issue of valuation of black culture in Brazil, especially in regard to aspects such as the unmasking of certain stereotypes have long grounded, but above all has assumed particular importance the role of black resistance, which is analyzed from the perspective of a social bent, crossing approaches historical, religious and cultural. Each of these approaches adds a different importance to the black presence in the poetry of Bruno de Menezes, the object of our investigation, hence it is possible to deduce what we believe is of fundamental importance, we do not subtract any of the approaches highlighted. The work is titled now analyze is Batuque, above the poet, the work is responsible for signing in the context of Amazonian literature, and more than that within the culture of national stamp, a new chapter, this is a new perspective on the condition of the black in Brazilian society. Allying themselves with these perspectives, we will add the views of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, as the theoretical framework for contextualizing we intend to raise in the text. This study aimed to investigate the influence of the European civilizing process on the black and fenced off (cultural / religious) under this influence, as well as the negative consequences that will focus on the prospect that blacks have about his own body and place in culture, many of them also from the Christian worldview imposed on them.

Neste sentido, as religiões afro-brasileiras, por seu suposto atraso intelectual, e também a presença da religião nos espaços públicos têm se constituído como importantes pontos de partida para problematizações mais amplas acerca do lugar da religião na modernidade. A presente dissertação parte da perspectiva da Assobecaty – Associação Beneficente Cultural Africana Templo de Yemanjá para tematizar como religioso e secular encontram-se imbricados nas ações sociais empreendidas pela entidade. Especificamente, trata-se de mapear como a Assobecaty conforma-se pela articulação entre o moderno e o tradicional, e como ao longo de suas ações constituem-se espaços públicos repletos de religião. / Since its earliest characterizations, a central aspect of the idea of modernity is its supposed rupture from the traditional and the religious. Therefore, the afro-brazilian religions, by its low intellectual development, and the presence of religion in public spaces has been constituted as an important starting point for broader inqueries concerning the place of religion in modernity. The thesis here presented departs from the point of view of Assobecaty – Beneficent Cultural Africanist Association Temple of Yemanjá – to focus on how the religious and the secular are interlaced in the social actions performed by this entity. Especifitcally, the goal is to map out how Assobecaty assemble itself by articulations between the modern and the traditional, and how through its actions public spaces are constituted full of religion.
