Sémiotická analýza komiksu v současných českých společenských časopisech v letech 2000-2015 / Semiotic analysis of comics in contemporary Czech social magazines in the years 2000-2015

Dorňáková, Anna January 2016 (has links)
This thesis deals with comics in the Czech news and cultural magazines after the year 2000. A new generation of comic creators emerged after the year 2000, so called Generation zero. These new creators are different from the older authors - especially from authors of Generation 89 - in many aspects. Using a semiotic analysis this thesis focuses on comics in contemporary periodicals: it attempts to uncover how various comics exist in news magazines (which are intended for a broad scale audience) and to what extent these comics match with the profile of the magazine. Additionally, in order to see a potential difference in results, cultural periodicals were also thoroughly analyzed. Included in the analyzed material are news magazines such as Reflex and Respekt and cultural periodicals like Art+Antiques and A2. In addition, it focuses on theoretical discussions regarding a proper definition of the word comic and on the relationship between linguistic and visual levels of comics because this relationship is essential in this form. Finally, the means of visual language in comics and the history of the Czech comics are discussed in the theoretical section as well.

Les métamorphoses du temps et de l'histoire dans l'œuvre de fiction de Graham Swift : coming to terms with one's past / The metamorphoses of time and history in Graham Swift's works : 'How to come to terms with one's past'

Massoulier, Nathalie 08 December 2012 (has links)
This work examines how Graham Swift's works tackle the issue of a potential reconciliation with the past. Reconciliation will be analysed together with the character's metamorphoses over time (one of the meaning that has to be given to the metamorphoses of history in my thesis's title) and the fictional transformations of time and history. The psychoanalytic evolutions of identities and the relationships of the characters with time and history will be studied. If it is difficult to precisely assess the success of reconciliation, we will focus on some of its underlying strategies and narrative treatments. The individual level will serve as a model for the collective level.

From Translation to Writing

Montel-Hurlin, Elise 06 October 2012 (has links)
Erri De Luca (Naples, 1950-), former far-left activist, workman, climber, is a “non-believer” who is haunted by the Bible. Refusing any authority (let it be from a State, a God, or a literary rule), he places himself “against” everyone, on the “sideline”, outside the standards of translation, outside the standards of biblical exegetic compendiums. Yet, De Luca's method fits well in the standards of rabbinical hermeneutical methods. Our work's goal is to show how De Luca offers to a proteiform reader an arrangement of his writing. While De Luca's writing signifies by what is kept quiet, his readings, his translations, and its biblical compendiums serve his inspiration to better question the genre. He therefore creates, in a babelical masterpiece where origins are horizon, in a shifting area that refuses any classification, a place “in-between” every other places. His writing position is dual, in-between an inborn culture (of Christian origin) and a created culture (of Jewish origin). His re-translation is not yet “another writing” nor a “cheap writing”: his translation erects itself as writing. With his very personal style, outside of any context, but flourishing with literary references and by reusing the rabbinical hermeneutical method of the midrash, De Luca proposes a personal reading of the Bible. He squeezes within the Bible's interstices in order to give it an “other possibility”.

Les municipalités rémoises de 1919 à 1959 / The municipalities of Reims from 1919 to 1959

Royer, Michel 28 November 2011 (has links)
From 1919 to 1939, the municipalities of Reims were marked by the domination of radical party allied to the SFIO and then to the right and largely dominated by the personality of Paul Marchandeau. After 1945 the situation appeared much more variable. From 1945 to 1959 we are dealing with fragile municipalities headed successively by a communist, an RPF, a radical and two members of MRP. This is the cumulative result of proportional representation and isolation of the FPC which led to the fact that majorities could be formed only between the non-communist parties in which was incessant rivalry.. But municipalities are represented by individuals. Two generations of councilors can be individualized. The one that was in office between the two world wars who remained in office without any significant change and the one of the Fourth Republic, who experienced a larger renewal and appeared to be more in line with the Reims society of the time.

Dvojkolejnost právní úpravy dominantního postavení v soutěžním právu EU / Duality of the legal regulation of a dominant position in EU competition law

Pavel, Jan January 2012 (has links)
Résumé The presented work addresses the issue of the double-tracking nature of a dominant position in European competition law. The aim of the integration efforts during the establishment of the EU was the creation of an internal market, especially the customs union. In order to achieve this state, it was necessary to take a number of integration measures and create a legal framework, i.e. conditions, under which economic competition in the internal market could operate effectively. In this context a variety of legislation valid for the whole EU territory has been accepted. However, in the context of the economic competition this work analyzes the legislation on market dominance carried out first in Article 102 of TFEU (Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union) prohibiting restrictive business practices in the form of abuse of a dominant position and also in Council Regulation (EEC) No 4064/89 and later in Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 regulating the control of concentrations between undertakings. In case of both the legislations the crucial question is the "dominant position" of an enterprise in the market, while Article 102 of TFEU represents the ex post control, i.e. applies only to the possible abuse of the dominant position, and in this sense the dominant position itself is not the...

Příroda v díle Maríi Luisy Bombalové / Nature in the work of María Luisa Bombal

Bačíková, Andrea January 2013 (has links)
The central theme of this thesis is to discuss the depiction of nature in the work of the Chilean author María Luisa Bombal and to show how she introduces a woman's perspective into these texts. The emphasis is on finding t ypical symbols which are used in the author's novels and short stories and to focus on their specific usage and connotations. For greater clarit y, the author's work is divided into 3 major thematic units: seeking for love in vain, the cosmic connection of female characters wi th nature, and her interpretation of the relationship between life and death.

Alkohol a násilná kriminalita - případová studie / Alcohol and violent crime - case study

Kučerová, Veronika January 2013 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is the effect of alcohol consumption on committing violent crime. The aim of this work is to describe the relationship between alcohol use and perpetration of violent crime using a description of selected violent crimes. The theoretical part deals firstly with the individual areas such as alcohol and violent crime. In the following paragraphs work connects these two concepts - thus dealing with alcohol as a criminogenic factor. Finally, the work is devoted to the theoretical models that describe link between alcohol and crime. The practical part contains a description and analysis of two selected violent crimes - murder and robbery, which resulted from a qualitative analysis of court files. Within it are described the circumstances in detail that led to the commission of a crime in connection with the use of alcohol. The work aims to address three main issues - whether the use of alcohol has a role in the criminal career of the offender; on what circumstances related to the commission of the offense is the expertise pointing, as to the issue of alcohol use and express that it is possible in these cases find the influence of alcohol applied to the offense.

Contribution to the cadmium absorption modeling by sunflower roots (Helianthus annuus L.) in relation with root system architecture

Laporte, Marie-Aline 20 December 2013 (has links)
Cd contaminates food crops because of its absorption by plant roots. Because it is a toxic element for living organisms, its concentrations in food and feed plant products are subjected to regulatory limits. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the transfer of this metal from the soil to the edible plant part, especially for sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.), our model plant that can accumulate more Cd than other crop species. This study tested the hypothesis that the amount of Cd absorbed by sunflower was related to the root architecture. We characterized, at the individual roots level, a longitudinal variation of the influx of Cd2+ absorption in relation with the culture medium, the order and the age of roots. These variations were attributed to the development of apoplastic barriers (cellulose, lignin and suberin deposition) that restrict the absorption of Cd2+ into the cytosol. By simulation, it has been shown that these variations could theoritically impact the total absorption of Cd2+ in hydroponics depending on the root architecture while in solid substrate (sand) the impact was much more limited. Furthermore, a comparison of 14 sunflower cultivars showed that the variability in Cd concentrations in shoots was rather due to differences in absorption independent of root architecture and in variations in the root to shoot distribution. The longitudinal variation in the Cd root influx can then be considered of minor importance compared to the between cultivar variability in Cd uptake, the origin of which remains to be determined. In the perspective of modelling the total uptake of Cd in soil conditions, it could then be possible to assume a global mean influx of Cd independent of the root architecture

Palm, Josefin, Szabo, Monika January 2017 (has links)
From findings of diverseness in the formulations of organizational goals, the purpose of this study is to understand if and how these differences affect the relation between organizational goals and practices. The empirical data consists of eleven interviews with representatives of a municipality. Two of the informants were local politicians, five were executives and four white-collar workers. The data was analyzed in light of Neoinstitutional Theory an its concepts of goals. Based on these conceptions we understand the goals to have various attributes. The result of this study indicates that the combination of goal attributes affects whether the relation between goal and practice can be understood as strong or weak, explicit or ambiguous. It also shows how weak relations can be understood as the organization is decoupling the goals from the practices to avoid conflicts and to preserve its legitimacy.
