Mentoring ist die Weitergabe informeller Wissensbestände von einer erfahrenen an eine weniger erfahrene Person, von einer Mentorin bzw. einem Mentor an eine oder einen Mentee. Mentoring kann auch auf Gruppen bezogen sein. Die Handlungsfelder umfassen Frauenförderung, Integration, Wissensmanagement, Personalentwicklung, organisationalen Wandel oder die Vorbereitung auf eine Berufstätigkeit. Seit den 1990er Jahren wurden vermehrt Mentoringprogramme für Frauen und Mädchen entwickelt, deren Ziel es ist, Bildungs- und Karriereverläufe entsprechend der individuellen Talente und Fähigkeiten zu verwirklichen.

Alfred Stelzner, ein Geologe, Petrograph und Vertreter der Stratigraphie und Lagerstättenlehre, war ein Meister der mechanischen Trennung von Materialien.

Master's thesis was focused on enjoyment from reading. The aim of the thesis was to analyze and after that characterize, where the enjoyment from reading lies, which factors do affect it, which elements of titel do participate on iit, by different respondents based on qualitative survey. The first part of thesis was dedicated to theoretical treatise about enjoyment generally and enjoyment from art. Focus was placed on conception of reader and author, on reading and literary work from literry theory point of view. In practical part was at first introduced and commented set of questions, that was used as a tool for enjoyment study together with methodology of qualitative research. After that my answers on questions focused on immediate enjoyment and perception were submitted also with expected answers from respondents, following the elaboration of respondents reader's profiles nad their enjoyment from reading. The analyzes of answers related to respondent's enjoyment were part of annexes. A common phenomenon among migrants is called language attrition, or the partial loss of language skills caused by changes in the active use of the language. This phenomenon occurs in the Czech Republic, where numerous young Vietnamese are often praised (especially by teachers) for their quick acquisition of the Czech language in the school environment, but experience shortcomings in their Vietnamese language and socio-cultural competence during early adulthood, on the basis of which they begin to go "back to their roots." The main topics of research in this thesis are 1) the experience of loss of the Vietnamese language and socio-cultural competence by individual Vietnamese and by the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, 2) adjustment designs to remedy these deficiencies and 3) the (non-)implementation of these adjustment designs by both individuals and organizations in the Czech Republic. The theoretical- methodological framework is a Language Management Theory (Neustupný 2002) and the main methodological approaches are language biography (Nekvapil 2004) and ethnography. The results of the analysis indicate the critical points to be addressed in incentives for Vietnamese language teaching methodology for young Vietnamese, as well as in the experience and reflection of their personal identities.

The main purpose of this thesis is to present the biography of Arthur Wellesley, the first duke of Wellington (1769-1852) with the connection to his political career in the top political offices primarily in the years 1815-1832. With the respect to the way how Wellington concerned to his political negotiations, this thesis also try to look at the duke's childhood and adolescence. Based on the chronological order the large area of the thesis especially attends to the British facts, which comes close to us through the Wellington's political activity. This work deals with the key political issues incidental to the duke's career, e.g. Bill of Pains and Penalties, Catholic Emancipation, or Parliamentary Reform. We can come to the conclusion that his key political attitudes which had a great impact on his decisions were "the service to the state and the King", "non-party feeling in political debates", and "the demand of a discipline", not only for himself, but for his colleagues and subordinates too. My dissertation is focused on usage of psychobiographical model of care during working with seniors. The first part of my dissertation is focused on theories, where I explain things such as old age and its age borders, changes in old age and senior's needs, dementia and its forms. We can also find here informations about senior services, social workers and ethic codex. Besides that, my dissertation contains informations about psychobiographical model and everything that is related to it. Second part of my dissertation is focud on concrete usage of the model in Senior House Háje and Senior House Palata for people with eyes dissorder. This study endeavours to research the field of literary historiography in general and specifically biographic historiography. In South Africa this genre has a limited tradition. Apart from a few diffused contributions by specialists in technical and other publications, and the essays by Hennie Aucamp in Beeltenis verbode and J.C. Kannemeyer in Getuigskrifte and Ontsyferde stene, very little research has been done in South Africa in this field. Chapter one expounds the research methodology. It briefly states the definition of the problem, as well as the goal orientation and the delimitation of the field of study, actuality, hypotheses and structural development. Chapter two affords the theoretical foundation of literary and more specifically biographic historiography. The concept "biography" is defined. The modern biography and its characteristics and structure are scrutinized in terms of different theoretical criteria. Finally this chapter contem-plates some problems experienced by contemporary biographers. Chapter three is an overview which sets out the history of biographic historiography from the most ancient times, during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the 16th to the 20th century. Biographic historiography in the USA is closely researched. Major achievements and the most important texts which influenced the genre are emphasized. The contributions of notable bio-graphers such as James Boswell and Lytton Strachey are highlighted. Chapter four is the core of this dissertation. Initially it contemplates biographic historiography in South Africa in general. Thereafter it researches literary biographies in depth. The earliest comprehensive literary biography in Afrikaans, Ds. S.J. du Toit in weg en werk by Totius, is discussed. Attention is drawn to Leon Rousseau's biography of Eugène N. Marais, which, in 1974, ushered in the true beginning of this tradition in Afrikaans. Subsequently the biographies of V.E. d'Assonville on Totius and S.J. du Toit are discussed. The major part of this chapter is devoted to the oeuvre of J.C. Kannemeyer, who probably made the most important contribution in this field with his comprehensive biographies on D.J. Opperman, C.J. Langenhoven, and C. Louis Leipoldt. Finally J.C. Steyn's monumental description of the life of N.P. van Wyk Louw, in two volumes, is discussed. The discussion and evaluation of these texts are set out narratively and comparatively. The said biographies are evaluated according to different biographic theories. Chapter five, a concise chapter, evaluates the hypotheses set out at the beginning of this research. Furthermore it is indicated that the field of biographic historiography in South Africa is still not properly exploited. Suggestions for further research are given. South Africa is a multi-ethnic country and contradictory political, cultural, socio-economic and language interests are not uncommon. Biographies could contribute to mutual understanding of these diversities, as manifested in J.C. Steyn's Van Wyk Louw: 'n Lewensverhaal. Karrieren in Stahlbeton Stahlbeton ist heute ein omnipräsentes Baumaterial, das die Druckfestigkeit des Betons mit der Zugfestigkeit des Stahls kombiniert. Graue Betonoberflächen, die versteckte Metallkerne umhüllen, prägen weite Teile des menschlichen Technotops und werden allenfalls aus ästhetischen Gründen abgelehnt. Ob verschämt mit Natursteinen verkleidet oder selbstbewusst präsentiert – die Funktionalität dieses Materials steht heutzutage nicht ernsthaft infrage. Vor einhundert Jahren war es dagegen keineswegs selbstverständlich, Bauten in Stahlbeton zu konstruieren. Vielmehr blieb es einer kleinen Avantgarde von Bauingenieuren vorbehalten, das Fundament für die heute fest etablierte Stahlbetonbauweise zu legen. Diese Schrift widmet sich einem von ihnen: dem Ordinarius der Technischen Hochschule Dresden Willy Gehler (1876–1953), der hier studierte, lehrte, forschte und mit seinen Bauten im Dresdner Stadtgebiet Spuren hinterlassen hat. Einerseits ist Gehlers Vita von wissenschaftlichem Interesse, da sie eng mit den Pioniertaten des Stahlbetons in Deutschland verbunden ist. Anderseits lässt sich an seinem Beispiel das Wirken von Technikwissenschaftlern in vier unterschiedlichen politischen Systemen untersuchen, da der Protagonist unserer Narration im Deutschen Kaiserreich, in der Weimarer Republik, in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus und in der DDR aktiv war und als engagierter Vertreter seines Berufsstandes hervortrat. Die Beschäftigung mit Willy Gehler ist mithin geeignet, Kontinuitäten und Brüche in den Biografien bürgerlicher Eliten aufzuzeigen, und exemplarische Schneisen in die Bau-, Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsgeschichte der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts zu schlagen. Die Gliederung orientiert sich dabei an den vielfältigen Rollen, die dieser deutsche Bauingenieur im Laufe seiner Karriere als Student, Konstrukteur, Hochschullehrer, Kollege, Normungsaktivist, Gutachter, Forscher, Materialprüfer und politisch Engagierter ausfüllte. Der Erforschung der wissenschaftlichen Verdienste Gehlers um den Stahlbetonbau sowie seines Lebens in vier politischen Systemen widmet sich das von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft geförderte Projekt „Willy Gehler (1876–1953) – Spitzenforschung, politische Selbstmobilisierung und historische Rezeption eines bedeutenden Bauingenieurs und Hochschullehrers im ‚Jahrhundert der Extreme‘“ – eine Kooperation des Instituts für Massivbau (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E. h. Manfred Curbach) und des Lehrstuhls für Technik- und Technikwissenschaftsgeschichte (Prof. Dr. Thomas Hänseroth) der TU Dresden – auf dessen bisher erzielte Ergebnisse sich diese Publikation stützt. Die vorliegende Broschüre begleitet zudem eine studentische Ausstellung in der Sächsischen Landesbibliothek – Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden (SLUB), die im Wintersemester 2016/17 im Rahmen eines Praxisseminars am Institut für Geschichte der Technischen Universität Dresden erarbeitet wurde.
