Návrh geometrie kontejneru pro skladování ropných produktů / Design of tank container for storage of petroleum products

Bezděk, Lukáš January 2011 (has links)
This diploma thesis presents design of oil storage container type ISO 1CC. The container is designed according to ISO standards. The standards prescribe or limit some of the container dimensions, other dimensions are derived from specific purpose of the container. The container can be considered either as a transport container (empty) or as a stationary tank (full). Therefore, the load conditions are given by ISO for transport containers in the first case and by ČSN EN for the latter. The goal is to design and evaluate various container designs by FEM (finite-element method) analysis.

Udržování a redukce váhy v boxu / Keeping and reducing weight in the boxing

Broža, Daniel January 2018 (has links)
Title: Keeping and reducing weight in the boxing Aims: The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out which methods are used for sustain or reduction of boxers' weight in various weight classes. If this process affects their power, and which intervals they begin the reduction before the fight in. Methods: The observation as the quantitative method was used on the basis of public inquiry. Results: It follows that boxers use shorter and more intensive methods for their weight reduction rather than slow and careful methods for their organisms. Moreover, two thirds of respondents experience some changes in consequence of sustaining and reducing the weight. The majority of respondents mentioned they get the information how to sustain and reduce the weight in accordance with their own consideration. Keywords: Boxing, weight reduction, weight categories, dehydratation

”Tycker du att jag är pryd?” : En diskurspsykologisk analys av maktförhållanden i TV-programmet Kvartsamtalet / "Do you think I'm prudish?" A discourse psychological analysis of power relations in the TV program Kvartsamtalet

Wik, Maja, Bergström, Malin January 2021 (has links)
This study aimed to examine the power relations in a TV-show called Kvartsamtalet between the host Parisa Amiri and her guests. The empiric material consisted of four programs which were guested by Ebba Busch, Jason Diakité, Anders Ygeman and Nanna Blondell. The material was analyzed with discursive psychology which is a form of discourse analysis that focuses on psychological themes in text, talk, and images. Our study aimed to analyze the talk between Amiri and her guests. The material is analyzed with theories of power by Michel Foucault, performative gender by Judith Butler, theatrical performance by Erving Goffman and intersectionality by Nina Lykke, Paulina De los Reyes and Diana Mulinari. The result of the study shows that power relations through intersectionality mostly is negotiated between identity categories such as gender and ethnicity. The interviews showed that the power relations through intersectionality are both maintained and contradicted by every individual on the show, and the negotiation also takes place in a larger societal perspective. The analysis has shown that power is created in social interaction depending on how individuals talk to each other.

Modeling Children's Organization of Utterances Using Statistical Information from Adult Language Input

Walker, Katie Lynn 16 March 2016 (has links)
Previous computerized models of child language acquisition have sought to determine how children acquire grammatical word categories (GWCs). The current study seeks to determine if statistical structure can be corroborated as a factor in GWC acquisition. Previous studies examining statistical structure have dealt with word order rather than GWC order and only examined an overall success rate. The present study examines how well a computer model of child acquisition of GWCs was able to reorganize scrambled sentences back into the correct GWC order using transitional probabilities extracted from adult language input. Overall, a 50% success rate was obtained, but when broken down by utterance length, utterances up to eight words in length had a success rate much higher than chance. Thus, it is likely that statistical structure informs children's acquisition of GWCs.

Analýza stravovacích zvyklostí v triatlonu u elitních mládežnických kategorií / Nutrition habits analysis in triathlon in elite youth categories

Follprecht, Daniel January 2021 (has links)
TITLE OF THESIS: Nutrition habits analysis in triathlon in elite youth categories. OBJECTIVES OF THESIS: The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a seven-day model nutrition plan for elite triathletes aged 15 - 18 based on an analysis of their current eating habits and anthropometric indicators together with verification of the effectiveness of nutritional recomendations after six months of compliance. METHODS USED: In our thesis we used qualitative and quantitative methods. Microsoft Excel was used for the graphical representation of anthropometric indicators and for the analysis of the current diet. Furthermore, the Sportvital-Nutrition program helped us in our work, especially in the analysis of meal plans of the monitored group. RESULTS: We found that the percentage of nutrients ingested by the monitored triathletes is on average 49 : 32 : 19 % (carbohydrates : fats : proteins), which does not correspond to the recomendations in the field of nutrition in endurance sports for youth categories. They do not even meet the correct ratio of fatty acids ingested fats according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization. Only three triathletes met the recommendations od PUFA intake, five triathletes met the recommendations for MUFA intake and no triathlete met the lower limit for SFA...

Assessing the factor structure of the South African Personality Inventory by employing a dichotomous and a polytomous response scale

Prinsloo, Dalinda January 2013 (has links)
In a multicultural society such as South Africa, there is a need for valid and reliable instruments measuring personality. Most personality instruments currently used in South Africa are imported from abroad and therefore have limited utility in the South African context as they have been developed for a specific group. The introduction of technology has resulted in personality measuring instruments increasingly being administered by means of computer-based assessments. The dramatic increase in computer-based assessments has sparked debate regarding the use of various response scale categories in personality assessment. The present study, which forms part of the broader South African Personality Inventory (SAPI) project, focused on the preliminary qualitative personality structure produced by the SAPI project, which is categorised into nine clusters. The current study aimed to determine whether a dichotomous or a polytomous response scale administered by means of computer-based assessments would be more suitable for measuring the preliminary personality structure of the SAPI. The participants were first- and second-year undergraduate students enrolled at a tertiary institution (N = 490). The inventory consisted of 262 closed-ended personality statements and was administered in both the dichotomous (“agree” and “disagree”) and polytomous (“strongly agree”, “agree”, “somewhat agree/disagree”, “strongly disagree” and “disagree”) response scale form. The results, which were based on an exploratory factor analysis, revealed that 37.2% of the items in the dichotomous response scale were problematic, whereas only 3.6% of the items in the polytomous response scale were problematic. By comparing the factor structures of the dichotomous and polytomous response scales, the polytomous response scale was determined to be more suitable for measuring the preliminary personality structure of the SAPI. The conclusion was based on two specific criteria. Firstly, the factor structure across the polytomous response scale loaded similarly to the qualitative personality structure that was conceptualised in the first phase of the SAPI project. Secondly, Cronbach alpha coefficients, ranging from 0.60 to 0.87 across the nine factors, with the exception of the Integrity and Openness clusters with values of 0.45 and 0.53 respectively, for the polytomous response scale were higher than those yielded by the dichotomous response scale. / Mini Dissertation (MCom (Industrial Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2013. / Human Resource Management / MCom (Industrial Psychology) / unrestricted

A Proof and Formalization of the Initiality Conjecture of Dependent Type Theory

de Boer, Menno January 2020 (has links)
In this licentiate thesis we present a proof of the initiality conjecture for Martin-Löf’s type theory with 0, 1, N, A+B, ∏AB, ∑AB, IdA(u,v), countable hierarchy of universes (Ui)iєN closed under these type constructors and with type of elements (ELi(a))iєN. We employ the categorical semantics of contextual categories. The proof is based on a formalization in the proof assistant Agda done by Guillaume Brunerie and the author. This work was part of a joint project with Peter LeFanu Lumsdaine and Anders Mörtberg, who are developing a separate formalization of this conjecture with respect to categories with attributes and using the proof assistant Coq over the UniMath library instead. Results from this project are planned to be published in the future. We start by carefully setting up the syntax and rules for the dependent type theory in question followed by an introduction to contextual categories. We then define the partial interpretation of raw syntax into a contextual category and we prove that this interpretation is total on well-formed input. By doing so, we define a functor from the term model, which is built out of the syntax, into any contextual category and we show that any two such functors are equal. This establishes that the term model is initial among contextual categories. At the end we discuss details of the formalization and future directions for research. In particular, we discuss a memory issue that arose in type checking the formalization and how it was resolved. /
Licentiate defense over Zoom.

On Swear Words and Rap Music: : A Diachronic Study of the Changes in the Use of Swear Words in Rap Music from the 1970s to the 2010s

Log, Filip Nikitas Metallinos January 2022 (has links)
It has previously been shown that music features progressively more swear words and profanities per word uttered over time, and that rap music is at the forefront of this change. Therefore, this study explores whether there have been significant changes in swear word usage in rap music between the genre's conception (1970s-1980s), its commercialization (1990s-2000s), and its current black rights and personhood movements (2010s), totaling 50 years from 1970 to 2019. This was studied through a corpus of 300 song lyrics with 100-song sub-corpora per key period. These corpora were analyzed in terms of frequency of swear words and their functional categories based on McEnery and Xiao's (2004) model of swear words. The ten most frequent swear words changed significantly between the 1970s-1980s and 1990s-2000s sub-corpora. These results suggest that rap music initially featured few swear words to facilitate commercialization before normalizing larger frequencies. Furthermore, none of the corpora saw the same combination of most frequent swear words, although the 1990s-2000s and 2010s showed some overlap. Regarding functions, there were significant changes chronologically through the sub-corpora, with particular increase in literal usage.

[pt] O QUE HÁ NUM NOME?: UMA ANÁLISE SOBRE A POLÍTICA DE CATEGORIZAÇÃO E O FLUXO VENEZUELANO PARA O BRASIL / [en] WHAT S IN A NAME?: AN ANALYSIS OF THE POLITICS OF CATEGORIZATION AND THE VENEZUELAN FLOW TO BRAZIL

MARIANA FERNANDES BRAGA SANTOS 19 August 2021 (has links)
[en] This dissertation proposes an analysis of the politics and practices of categorizing and classifying subjects on the move in search of protection, based on the Brazilian experience of welcoming refugees and, more specifically, the Venezuelan flow in Brazil. For this purpose, the research proceeds with a broad theoretical debate, starting with the discussion on the State, borders, limits and the sense of belonging, as well as engaging with the critical refugee and migration studies. It is argued that the problematic separation between a legitimate refugee and an economic migrant culminates in the multiplication of categories that aim to contain and control human mobility. Such multiplication of categories exposes the will to hinder access to refugee protection, but it also reflects the recognition of these non-refugees need for protection. These relations between protection and regularization, management and control, become clear when we look at how Brazil has dealt with migratory flows in its own territory. In light of the debate, understanding that Brazil is inserted in a broader international context and, therefore, in practices and norms that go beyond its territorial limits, the Venezuelan flow is analyzed as a case study that allows to glimpse the deficiency and insufficiency of these categories of mobility, and their direct relation to the perpetuation of the precarious and provisional condition to which those on the move are subjected to.
