Systém pro organizaci běžeckých závodů / A System for Organizing Running Races

Kalus, Jiří January 2017 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with the analysis, design and implementation of a system for organizing running races with the support of racers registration and the possibility of multiple online and offline checkpoints during the race. The system is composed of two web applications and a client desktop application. An administration web application is used to create and manage the race. A presentation web application with optional registration is responsible for publishing the race. It is possible to scan RFID chips of the racers on multiple track stations during the race using a client application. The RFID chips are scanned by an RFID reader connected to host device. If the client application is connected to the internet, the scanned times of racers are displayed on the presentation application in real time. Web applications are implemented with the ASP.NET MVC technology. Authorization and Authentication is provided by ASP.NET Identity. The client application is implemented using the WPF technology.

Aerosolové a mikrobiální mikroklima čistých prostorů / Aerosol and microbial microclimate of clean rooms

Stojanová, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
Master´s thesis deals with the issue of internal microclimate of clean rooms. The experimental part focuses on aerosol and microbial microclimate. Different operating and intervention rooms were measured and then evaluated whether the cleanroom would comply with the standard cleanliness class even in normal operation after previous validations. The microbial examination of different clean spaces investigated the extent to which the exact passive fall method and its evaluation were time-dependent. From the data the correct desing of the air-conditioning system and its subsequent realization and regultion were verified. The theoretical part describes requirements for clean rooms according to SÚKL-LEK 17 and ČSN EN ISO 14644-1. In addition, a detailed methodology of the procedure of air-conditioning implementation is elaborated to the final validation and testing of clean rooms.

Scientific Categories and Classification of People: Historical analysis as a methodological tool for the philosophy of human sciences?

Smiešková, Kornélia January 2019 (has links)
(in English): The aim of the work is to reconstruct and interpret the method of historicized analysis and its employment to examine the phenomenon of "making up people". The concept is Hacking's description for the impact scientific classifications can have on classified people. The point of departure for the examination in the work is the thesis that historicized analysis employs the elements of philosophical conceptual analysis together with historical tools philosophy of science corroborates and whose strategies are often in opposition to the analytical tradition. As a follow-up of the main thesis the work also examines whether the historicized analysis can be understood as a history of the present. Moreover, it asks questions that come up in connection with the project of "making up people" such as: "What are the conditions for a scientific category to emerge? When categories emerge do new kinds of people emerge as well? What is the specific structure that enables the mutual interaction and effect scientific categories and classified people make? One of the aims will therefore be to elucidate to what extend the historicized analysis is able to answer those questions. Last but not least the work looks into the critical implications and usefulness of the method of historicized analysis.

Giguère, Valérie 05 1900 (has links)
Parent-child attachment and temperament are two fundamental concepts in child development, because they are involved in the development of both socialization and emotional regulation capacity. However, the connection between those two concepts is still misunderstood. The foregoing research assesses whether there is a connection between mother-child and fatherchild attachment (A, B, C, D), mother-child sub-categories (A, B1, B2, B3, B4, C and D) and father-child sub-categories (A1, A2, B1, B2, B3, B4, C and D) with the temperament (negative affect, surgency and effortful control) of 12-18 month-old toddlers. Data come from the first measurement time in the Complémentarité des relations d’attachement père-enfant et mèreenfant : une approche systémique de la famille pour mieux comprendre le développement des enfants d’âge préscolaire (CRA) research project. The sample is made of families with the mother (n=174) the father (n=173) and their child. The attachment was measured with the Ainsworth Strange Situation at 12-18 month and the temperament was measured by the mothers’ and the fathers’ answers to the Rothbart questionnaire « Early Child Behavior Questionnaire - Short Form » when the child was 24-30 month old. The two MANCOVAS models are not significant. Results indicate that there is no difference between children of either attachment category and sub-category as to toddlers’ negative affect, surgency and effortful control.

Hållbarhetsarbete och kommunikation : En studie av AB Bollnäs Bostäders verksamhet / Sustainability work and communication : A study of AB Bollnäs Bostäder´s business

Guttenkunst, Ia January 2017 (has links)
Nyckelord: / The objective has been to visualize sustainability work of AB Bollnäs Bostäder, based on 18 sustainability categories developed in the study, divided on the sustainable aspects ecological, social and economical. The ecological and social aspect of the sustainability categories is part of the ISO26000, a standard describing company’s social responsibility, and the economic aspect is developed based on research and document discussing sustainable development in the property business. Furthermore, the aim has also been to study the communication of the sustainability work at the company, and see the result of it. It was accomplished by a didactic analysis, based on the didactical questions for who, why, what and how. The last object of the study has been to learn the visions of the future sustainability work of AB Bollnäs Bostäder, from different groups perspectives, based on the 18 sustainability categories. To collect relevant empirical data, personal interviews, questionnaires and document studies has been carried out. The results show that active work towards a sustainable development is performed in AB Bollnäs Bostäder, from all three aspects of sustainable development – ecology, social and economy. Out of the 18 sustainability categories, the work of 14 of them was assessed to be satisfying. Well invested resources would help the company to develop their work, and fulfil all the sustainability categories. The communication of the sustainability categories showed a consideration towards an economical content, both internally and externally, but with different aims for the targeted groups property service, economic and administrations, customer centre, park division, technical, CEO, inhabitants, entrepreneurs, municipal council and the board. The outcome of the communication on the other hand, showed that the economical, social and ecological sustainability categories, in the stated order, is interpreted different by the targeted groups. Finally, the results showed that all three sustainability aspects were important for AB Bollnäs Bostäder in the future, but the economical sustainability categories were considered to have a higher priority.

Identity, Old(er) Age and Migrancy : A Social Constructionist Lens / Identitet, hög(re) ålder och invandrarskap : Ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv

Machat-From, Laura January 2017 (has links)
ldentity research in relation to ethnicity and migration has tended to focus an younger people whilst identity research in relation to ageing and old(er) age has not focused an migrants. This inadvertent mutual neglect has led to a lack of identity research that examines the identity categories of old(er) age and migrancy together, a lacuna that this dissertation aims to redress. This dissertation departs from a social constructionist understanding of identity as situationally accomplished in the interplay between how one defines oneself (internally) and how others define one (externally). The questions raised by this perspective and addressed in this dissertation are: When (in what situations) and in relation to whom do old(er) age and migrancy (respectively) seem to become meaningful for identification? How do the identity categories of old(er) age and migrancy seem to be negotiated? The empirical material consists of in-depth interviews with 24 older migrants (13 men, 11 women) aged between 55 and 79 who have been living in Sweden for 18 to 61 years. Interviewees come from 12 different countries that vary in perceived cultural distance from Sweden. The findings suggest that identifications with old(er) age and migrancy seem to be dynamic and flexible rather than necessarily permanently meaningful, thus gaining meaning in specific situations and in relation to particular Others. External definitions furthermore do not always seem to match with internal ones. Regardless of how old(er) age and migrancy are constructed, they seem to be negotiable. This dissertation thus contributes to identity research by studying old(er) age and migrancy together and furthermore sheds light onto how the social constructionist lens allows us to see variability where stability otherwise would be presumed.

Measuring the Impact of Community-University Research Partnership Structures: a case study of the Office of Community-Based Research at the University of Victoria

Lall, Nirmala 27 October 2015 (has links)
This research study focused on measuring the impact of structures that support community-university research partnerships. The broad research question asked: How can we determine the impact of community-university research partnership support structures such as the Office of Community Based Research at the University of Victoria, within the university and within local, regional, national and international communities? Methods of inquiry included: participatory research, institutional ethnography and case study. These are among an increasing number of research approaches consistent with what is called engaged scholarship. Congruent with the methods of inquiry, methods of investigation included: in-context immersion, participant-observer-listener, use of available documents and information, use of an impact assessment framework prototype designed pre-data collection, key informant interviews, field notes, research journaling and the writing process. Data contributing to this study were drawn from key informant interviews. Interview participants were situated within local, regional, national and international communities. Methods of analysis included: a two-pronged approach to organising data, deductive and inductive approaches, the lens of praxis, and the prototype as an analytical framework. Assessment as praxis is proposed as broad analytic framework. Theory was constructed through data analysis. This study’s data and analysis point to impact assessment as a cycle of inquiry and eight elements that inform impact on and through community life and impact on and through the university. The proposed Impact Assessment and Measurement Framework (IAMF) includes eight elements: coupling intention with impact, spheres of impact, categories of impact, conditions of impact, points of impact, impact-focused documentation, multiple perspectives of impact, and impact assessment and measurement statements. Contributions of this study include: recognition of staff who support community-university research partnerships through their varied work spaces, research councils as a type of support structure, impact assessment as a cycle of inquiry, explicating impact through elements of impact assessment, and a literature consolidation of impact assessment in the context of support structures. Future research may include revision and refinement of the IAMF across different types of community-university research partnership support structures. / Graduate

The quantification of medical waste from the point of generation to the point of disposal: case studies at three private hospitals in Pretoria

Heunis, Louis Barend 11 1900 (has links)
The South African Waste Information System (SAWIS) was developed by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEAT) in 2005. This is a system used by government and industry to capture routine data on the tonnages of waste generated, recycled and disposed of in South Africa on a monthly and annual basis. All waste producers and waste management organisations should contribute to this national waste database and should accurately monitor the types and quantities of waste produced and handled. According to DEAT (2006) the need for Data verification is important. DEAT (2006:59) defined the term Data Verification as: "assessing data accuracy, completeness, consistency, availability and internal control practices that serve to determine the overall reliability of the data collected." The aim of the study is to determine a procedure, as well as the nature and extent of internal and external source documents, which could be used in the reconciliation of medical waste quantities from generation to disposal. The key objectives are to determine whether the selected hospitals keep internal records of the quantities of medical waste generated; to reconcile the waste quantities on the internal records with the external records, such as the collection certificates, invoices and waste incineration certificates; to ascertain whether the quantity of medical waste generated is equal to the quantity of waste incinerated and disposed of to determine the ratio factor between the quantity of medical waste before incineration and the quantity of the residue (ashes) after incineration, and to make recommendations on the reconciliation of waste quantities from the point of generation to the point of disposal. The results of the study indicate that the destruction certificate is the proof that the waste that was on-site collected by the service provider has been disposed /treated. Especially as an internal control measure. The health care risk waste (HCRW) management record keeping of quantities of weight as per Hospital A, Hospital B and Hospital C allows the opportunity to analyse the weight per month and per Hospital and per category and to make comparisons. The weakness or the gap however still exist that the waste is not weighed at the point of origin, but at the point where the waste service provider collects the waste onsite. It is from this point onwards that the service level agreement between the hospital and the waste service provider and the document management system and the tracking receipt and the waste collection documents (WCD) becomes relevant and where the quantities of waste per category are for the first time recorded. The hypothesis as stated in Chapter 1 was proven valid. The study concludes that reconciliation and comparison between the collection certificate and the destruction certificate and the monthly invoice is therefore possible, but the risk of mixing of waste and the understating or overstating of waste quantities is still not overcome. / Environmental Sciences / M.
