Ética na capelania universitária

Edivaldo Lopes de Lima 08 May 2014 (has links)
The master thesis deals with ethics in university chaplaincy. Ethics is essential in human relationships and is present in all spheres of human life. It is not different in academic settings. Professional ethics grounds the practice of the university chaplaincy professional in his/her professional practice. Throughout the work it was noticed that although the institution follows Christian precepts, the ethos of which is based on the principles of love, community living, the otherness, care, freedom with responsibility, professional ethics ultimately incorporates such values, since being ethical is to act based on socially constructed and accepted principles.. It was found that interpersonal relationship between the university chaplain and the individual is based on trust, allowing for open communication between them, but secretive. Thus, the university chaplaincy, with a caring role, becomes a ministry of help and pastoral care.

Duchovní péče v dětských domovech se zřetelem ke kaplanství / Pastoral care in children's homes with respect to chaplaincy

Plicková, Jana January 2018 (has links)
Children growing up in residential institutions lost chance to live in natural family environment. No wonder they struggle with emotional deprivation, which has a very negative influence on their future lives. Česká školní inspekce (Czech School Inspectorate) is regularly highlighting this issue, and at the same time criticizing lack of educated personell in the institutions, which could provide systematic and long-term care. Even in the Czech secular society, there is growing concern among teachers, psychologists, philosophers, and theologians about lack of transcendence, which is neccessary for healthy children's personality. However, missing transcendent element might be developed by education. There is a chance for the church to step-in, because spiritual care in secular institutions is slowly becoming well-known in the community, due to its benefits. Therefore the subject matter of this thesis is to define the role of chaplaincy in children's homes. Since this subject matter is rather unexplored, it is, in the first chapter, neccessary to introduce the reader to concepts of pastoral care. The second chapter is devoted to the rights and needs of children, while the third describes the institution of children's homes. The fourth chapter introduces us to the concept of chaplaincy and its three...

Fernando Degrandis 15 June 2009 (has links)
This paper aims studying the relation between religiosity and social participation on the work with adolescents and young people in school pastoral. For such a aim, it was make a case study at the college Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora, from Rio Pardo City, Rio Grande do Sul State. As the analysis done has, as its background, the school pastoral of a confessional Catholic school, the concept and the directions on youth and education present in the ecclesial documents including the Projeto Educativo das Irmãs do Imaculado Coração de Maria, which support the college Auxiliadora de Rio Pardo constitute the first part of this dissertation. Influenced by a pastoral comprehension, with principles on the Theology of Liberation and on the care with the marginalized people, many Latin American ecclesial documents including the one from the Irmãs do Imaculado Coração de Maria has a social and educational youth comprehension, and a concrete spirituality. Over time, this liberating comprehension starts giving attention to a more moderate position, which fragments into parts the human being, separating religiosity and political dimension. However, the preferential option for the youth and the poor in Latin America continued being affirmed by various bodies of the Church, which includes schools. The last chapter of this paper and its final considerations portray research on this options by the Catholic Church in a specific community: the college Auxiliadora de Rio Pardo. Eight youth students and theirs parents were interviewed. The aim here was investigating how the school pastoral service helps in the relation between religiosity and social participation. It was realized that the relation between these human dimensions, de facto, exist in the students life and that their faces and relations are diversified. It was seen that, among others elements, the existence of a vibrating, dynamic, friendly and enchanting faith, that is part of the daily life of the students, and that school is also a community where they do develop their faith.

Alexsandro Coutinho da Silva 07 April 2010 (has links)
A Multifaith Military: Religiosity and Belonging Among Muslim Canadian Armed Forces Members

Cassin, Katelyn 11 1900 (has links)
In studying the experiences of Muslim Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members by way of ethnographic interviews, I investigate both religious accommodation and feelings of belonging among individuals in this minority faith group. Interviews demonstrate that the CAF and its Chaplain Branch are generally equipped and willing to accommodate the practice of Islam by personnel. I argue, however, that as a result of accommodation, which marks Muslim CAF as “different,” as well as military culture, which conflicts with certain aspects of Islamic doctrine and practice, the experience of unity that is fundamental to the Canadian Armed Forces is limitedly available to Muslim members. This research is the first ethnographic study of a specific minority religious experience in the CAF. It builds on a small, but growing discourse about religiosity and spirituality in the Canadian military that includes the development of the Chaplain Branch as a multifaith service. / Thesis / Master of Arts (MA)

Equality Within the Ranks: A Critical Examination of the Canadian Armed Forces Aim to Create an Inclusive Workspace and Enhance Diversity

Rundle, Michael 16 November 2022 (has links)
In 2017 the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) released a revised vision and approach for the department of national defence, entitled “Strong, Secure, Engaged” (“Strong, Secure, Engaged: Canada’s Defence Policy” 2017). This document has a dedicated section on diversity and the significance of drawing upon the different backgrounds and cultural experiences each member brings with them when entering the organization. This section confirms the commitment of the Canadian government and the CAF to ensure that diversity and inclusion are priorities at all levels of supervision and management of personnel. However, many years removed from the implementation of this policy, the inclusion of diversity remains a topic of contention and is a struggle that the institution faces daily. . While the topic of equality and inclusion has many dimensions and considerations, especially within the CAF, this thesis will address the impact of the historical influence that Christian practices and traditions have had and continues to have upon the institution and its aim to enhance diversity and ensure the inclusion and equal treatment of all members. The thesis will question whether the CAF can succeed in its commitment to creating a safe and respectful workplace in light of privileges that exist for Christian beliefs and practices, which often go unaddressed or remain hidden in plain sight. This exploration of this question led to the analysis of legal rulings concerning the freedom of religious expression within the Canadian context; three crucial CAF policies that address the rights and freedoms of serving members; the summary trial of Lt(N) Scott in 2003; and an in-depth examination of the current research and scholarship regarding equality, inclusion, and the accommodation of diversity. What emerged from this analysis was an understanding that the CAF must recognize longstanding privileges favouring Christian practices if the organization intends to succeed in implementing initiatives, policies and procedures focusing on inclusion and diversity. Ultimately, this thesis aims to apply the findings of the examination of Christian privileges and to suggest practical steps that the CAF can implement to create change within the culture of the CAF. Drawing upon the concepts of the lived religion method, Lori Beaman’s deep equality approach, and the concept of mutual respect, this thesis intends to encourage the CAF to look beyond current models and approaches of managing diversity and difference as if it is a problem to be solved. Instead, this thesis intends to encourage the CAF to focus on actively listening to the complexity of the needs of its members. The research and analysis suggest that engaging in this process will permit more voices to be heard and allow diversity to strengthen the institution instead of being a problem that needs accommodation.

Spiritual care: an intervention to advance health equity for persons with disabilities in capitated managed care

Heaphy, Dennis 13 May 2024 (has links)
This thesis argues for providing spiritual care in primary care for Massachusetts persons with disabilities having Medicare and Medicaid as their primary insurers. It outlines an advocacy strategy to (1) increase awareness of the importance of spiritual care as key to primary care, (2) get buy-in for spiritual care as an optional primary care service to Medicaid beneficiaries needing nonmedical supports and services to live in the community due to mental health diagnosis or physical disability, and (3) put forward a statutory or regulatory proposal requiring One Care plans to provide certified peer chaplains as a covered service starting 2023.

As religiões da polícia: religião e religiosidade na Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo / Police\'s religions: religion and religiosity in military police of São Paulo State

Jácomo, Luiz Vicente Justino 27 November 2015 (has links)
The military police profession and religion are subjects that apparently have little interaction with each other. Commonly, there is a mismatch between these two categories, since the daily violence to which police professionals are submitted is directly confronted with the religious ethics, especially those more pacifists. It follows that the interpretations of religious specificities in a military context tend to emphasize the speech involved in this double identity, not seeking to try to understand the disputes involved in this scenario. In this work, I propose an amendment on the scales of observation of this reality, taking as object of research religious groups working inside the military police of the State of São Paulo: Evangelicals PMs of Christ; the PMs of Axé, adherents of Afro-Brazilian religions; the PMs in the Path of Light, formed by Kardecists, and the Catholic Chaplaincy Service. My intention is to analyze and understand the strategies used by these groups in dispute over followers, credibility and legitimacy from the command of the Corps and the police institution as a whole.
