Hur kan vi trivas i hemarbete? : En studie om den sociala arbetsmiljön under hemarbete på grund av coronapandemin / How to thrive while working from home? : A study on the social work environment while working from home during the corona pandemic

Thureson, Amanda, Alwadi, Laura January 2020 (has links)
This is the final assignment for a Bachelor's Degree in Leadership and Organization at Malmö University. The aim of this study is, through qualitative interviews with associates from different organizations, to examine the changes in the social work environment while working from home during the corona pandemic. The aim will be answered with the following research questions:    1. How do the interviewees describe the changes in the social work environment during work from home?   2. Which factors seem to affect the interviewees’ experiences of working from home, and in what ways do they affect their experiences of working from home?    The theoretical background consists of factors that have been detected to affect the social work environment in earlier studies considering the social work environment. The factors that have been chosen to be applied in this study are inner motivation, workgroup, communication and received social support. Researchers that are recurring in this study are Heide, Rubenowitz, Lennéer Axelson and Thylefors. The data was collected by five semi-structured interviews with five individuals from five different professions. All interviewees are associates (not leaders) and have been working from home due to the corona pandemic for at least two months full-time during 2020.  Data analysis was grounded on the four relevant theoretical factors that have in previous studies seen to affect the social work environment: motivation, workgroup, communication and received social support. Only the language was analyzed, and the writers did therefore switch the collected interview material after the transcript, to ensure that unconscious experiences from the interviews would not affect the analysis and therefore the results of the study. The results of the study indicated that making working from home a more positive experience for the associates can be done by focusing on organizing regular social distanced opportunities for audiocontact between the work group, and by encouraging associates to reflect on their own office set-ups during work from home. Other ways to make working from home a more positive experience for associates is creating online routines for distanced communication within the organization, as well as encouraging and supporting the associates in positive thinking.

Attention to COVID-19 : A content analysis study of Swedish interim reports

Ström, Andreas January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the attention to the COVID-19 pandemic displayed by top-level management in companies listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm Large Cap, and how this aforementioned attention was affected by the board size and board gender diversity of respective company. To accomplish this, a content analysis on a word-by-word level was conducted of all interim reports produced in 2020 by each company, and data regarding the board size and board gender diversity was gathered, for each company. The frequency with which each company mentioned select keywords concerning the COVID-19 pandemic was measured and then used as a comparative measure of the attention to the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to determine the magnitude of the impact of the independent variables a control variable, firm size, was introduced and linear fits were constructed of various combinations of variables. The resulting fits all clearly displayed an absence of correlation between either board size or board gender diversity and the attention paid to the COVID-19 pandemic by top-level management in large Swedish companies. Hence, this study suggests that there is no increase in board activity regarding daily operations in large Swedish companies during crises.

Granqvist, Annika, Espersson, Anna January 2022 (has links)
Nyckelord: Coronapandemi, social isolering, upplevelser, äldre / ABSTRACTBackground: The coronavirus that spread in 2019 resulted in a pandemic. Millions of people around the world became infected and died. Old age was the main risk factor, and restrictions on social isolation, and social distancing were introduced based on age. However, only older people in society understand what it means to have that particular age, and therefore they should be listened to. By understanding the complexity of the older people`s experiences, person-centered interventions can be developed to optimize the older people`s coping ability.Aim: To illuminate available evidence regarding the older people`s experiences of isolation during the corona pandemic.Method: Systematic review performed as meta synthesis with qualitative inductive approach as comprehensive 12 articles. Analysis was done according to Burnard’s (2008) content analysis with the addition of Polit and Beck (2021).Results: An overall main theme emerged, Adjusting to exclusion in a changing world, with two themes and seven categories. Under the first theme: A lost everyday life emerged that a troubled time arose with difficulties in dealing with a changed life situation. Under the second theme: A new everyday life emerged that the elderly adapted to the new normal. Through available resources new ways were found to manage daily life. Conclusion: The result showed that older people experienced exclusion during the isolation, cultural parallels could be drawn, and technology was of great importance. Older people did not feel listened to or involved. Similarities and differences regarding handling pandemic restrictions and experiences of isolation varied. Dependence on technology increased to preserve social relationships, facilitate everyday life and maintain quality of life. Keywords: Corona pandemic, experience, social isolation, older people

Will Digital Currencies Replace Cash?: Digital, Currency, Privacy and Surveillance

Teichmann, Fabian, Falker, Marie-Christin 13 May 2020 (has links)
In some nations, including Sweden and South Korea, cash payments are becoming increasingly uncommon. Other nations, such as Germany, continue to predominantly prefer cash. At the same time, digital currency is on the rise, and the announced launch of Facebook’s stablecoin Libra, in particular, has caused a debate around digital money. In response, a number of central banks have begun to consider launching their own versions of digital currency. This article analyzes characteristics of both cash and digital currency and illustrates advantages as well as disadvantages of digital money and a cashless society. In particular, privacy concerns regarding digital cash are addressed. In addition, compliance risks are highlighted, and it is deliberated whether the introduction of digital cash could lead to a decrease in crime related to cash and cryptocurrencies.

Is this our Plumbus?: An Exploration of Crypto and Virtual Currencies through a Compliance Lens

Kimathi, Sharon Kits 13 May 2020 (has links)
In this comment piece, I will seek to examine the relationship between cryptocurrencies and virtual currencies from a compliance perspective. I will tie this to the underlying theme from multiple studies, that a lack of knowledge of these products means more needs to be done by policymakers and the crypto industry to form cohesive and understandable standards that unearth what these products are, how they are used and how compliance analysts can be best supported to apply best practice procedures when conducting due-diligence checks. I will seek to lay out the advantages and disadvantages of recent developments and explore the challenges they pose on a socio-economic and macro level. This piece dissects the topic through four chapters. The first ties it into developments that unfolded during the global financial crisis, the use of collateralized debt obligations and other derivatives-based financial instruments, ultimately showing how a lack of knowledge was an underlying theme within the banking system during the 2008 global financial crisis. The second chapter combines the theme of knowledge and awareness of a product with the way in which people view cryptocurrency and digital coins, including regulators, courts and policymakers. The third explores recent developments from international central banks and governments, from sanctioned countries using of the product to help their citizens to international alliances forming across the globe in support of central-bank digital currencies. The final chapter unpacks the advantages and disadvantages of using these financial instruments, from countries in the global south suffering from scams to the pressure it takes on energy efficiency, concluding that more needs to be done to educate users, regulators and everyone in between for the success of the digital currency to be fully realized.
