Luzmila Casilda Quezada Barreto 31 March 2010 (has links)
This investigation explains the path realized in an interdis ciplinary study of the interface between feminist theology, gender studies, cultural studies and colonial and post- colonial studies. The thesis of this investigation maintains that, in the face of a globalizing system that excludes, oppresse s, controls and marginalizes, women create alternative diversified spaces of resistance and transformation through openings of power for the formulation of rights and access to material and symbolic resources. The objective is to systematiz e the experience of action /mana gement of empowerment of women leaders of churches and social organizations in Lima, Peru. Empowerment is identified as the positive powers of women who gained self-confidence, autonomy, emancipation and resiliency. In this research the memory of exceptional women are recovered based on the histories of their family life, on the beginnings of their leadership in the confrontation with situations of domestic, cultural and economic violence and their interaction in the churches and popular women's movements. These spaces permit them to break out of the traditional roles and become protagonists of their rights. In their personal trajectory and their encounter with social and feminist movements and in dialog with these one is able to articulate other discussions and create other agendas of structural change. The research is composed of four chapters. The first chapter deals with an analysis of the situation: the social, political and cultural situation of the Peruvian society limited to the decade of the 1990's with the worsening of the violence experienced by the Peruvian society and the struggles of the women's organizations in the last decades. But this situation does not appear from nowhere. There are historical antecedents of colonial women and their written and spoken discussions that struggled against the gender violence in the country. The second chapter is the theoretical framework and the interdisciplinary intersections between Latin American feminist theology and social sciences about empowerment based on the word, corporeality and spaces of power. The third chapter narrates the life history of the subjects of the research and the researcher, converting them into protagonists of and within the text. The discursive practice of the exceptional women is placed in dialog with the academic world in a systematic manner as agents of knowledge. The fourth chapter is a production of narrative theology based on the testimon ies of the women. The challeng e is to show that the experiences of suffering and emancipation criticize and demand the promotion of human dignity. These are the experiences that give sustenance to a theology of daily living and a theology of spaces for revelation. The spaces of enunciation are the most unusual because they break with the private and public, the sacred and the profane, the traditional and the modern that surge forth in networks of sociability for the human social and eco logical sustainability.

The objective of the research was to build pedagogical rationale for a teacher training that contributes to the denaturalization of domestic violence as an educational method punitive discipline . In the specific objectives , the thesis has identified and analyzed formative experiences that performed in their pedagogical integration between objective and subjective knowledge in teacher education. We sought to further investigate the knowledge built by professionals who act as trainers of reference in situations involving issues of violence against children . The theoretical and methodological approach adopted in this study were guided by a conception of the world and the man who denies the naturalization of social phenomena and understands that the immediate reality hides historically built inequalities are justified or hidden ideologies . This thesis was configured on a qualitative research , typified as a case study . The instruments of data collection were used narrative interviews and participant observation . Held a discussion on the concept of violence in order to contribute to the deconstruction of the myth that man is naturally violent. Discussed the contradiction between the principles and practices governing the education of children in the public world and the private world and presented research results that indicate a correlation between negative consequences on the development of children and moderate use of physical violence as a method punitive disciplinary education . Contextualized the process of implementation of legal frameworks that aim to ensure the child's right to physical integrity . The following is presented a study of the socio- historical dynamics that build and modulate the incorporation of resignation of violence committed against children by parents and the construction of the subject of indifference . Distinguished themselves further the concepts of authority and authoritarianism . From the view taken in this research , that the real criticism of the practice of beating to educate children necessarily involves the integration of objective and subjective knowledge on the phenomenon of violence , we built three pedagogical rationale for teacher training that address the theme of intrafamilial physical violence as a method of education , which are : 1 ) Historicity ontogenetic and phylogenetic naturalization of violence in the education of children , 2) Embodiment as a means of building knowledge sensitive , 3) construction of collective knowledge / Esta investigación se desarrolló en la línea de investigación formación, profesionalización docente y prácticas educativas del Programa de Posgrado en Educación de la Universidad Federal de Goiás e integró el REDECENTRO - estudio institucional de la región centro oeste sobre la produción académica que tiene como tema los profesores ( UFG / UFT / UNB / UFMS / UFMT / UFU / Uniube ).

Rygálová, Monika January 2021 (has links)
The text deals with ways and methods of creating my diploma thesis called Steal me your €motion. The diploma thesis deals with the relationship between machine learning and emotionality. To what extent is artificial intelligence able to undergo emotional relationships and experiences defined by the physicality and experience of the human body. The topic of the work is the creation of a (fictional) inhuman entity that longs to learn from people as many bodily acts as possible that will help it infiltrate the human community. In addition to reflecting the current level of scientific knowledge, I bring an element of fiction and fiction.

Funkce řeči u Husserla a Merleau-Pontyho / The Function of Speech in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty

Puc, Jan January 2017 (has links)
The Function of Speech in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty The submitted doctoral thesis is an attempt to describe the development of the intentional function of speech in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. The intentional function is defined as the change of expressed meaning that is engendered by the expression itself. We trace Husserl's position from the Logical Investigations and the first book of his Ideas pertaining to a pure phenomenology and to a phenomenological philosophy, where he describes speech as the non- productive mirroring of other kinds of intentionality, to the late text The Origin of Geometry, where he discerns two functions of speech: it provides thought its ideality, which is different from the ideality of species; and it provides thought its objectivity, i.e. the form of object that lasts in history as identical. In The Phenomenology of Perception, Merleau-Ponty adopts Husserl's late position with several profound modifications. The starting-point ceases to be the linguistic sign, and speech becomes a kind of gesture. As a consequence, the difference between linguistic and non-linguistic ideality disappears. Furthermore, Merleau-Ponty holds that the expression accomplishes the meaning of what it expresses. In this way, speech becomes creative and ceases to be just an empty intention of...

Český literární anarchismus v souvislostech socialismu a ženského hnutí (1890-1914) / Czech Literary Anarchism in the Context of Socialism and the Women's Movement (1890-1914)

Hylmar, Radek January 2017 (has links)
Czech Literary Anarchism in the Context of Socialism and the Women's Movement (1890-1914) Abstract The thesis focuses on Czech pre-WWI anarchism. It analyses it as a modernist movement comprising various activities spanning political propaganda, proposals of social organisation and thinking about moral values as well views on the arts and literary production. The aim is to present literary texts written by anarchists against a backdrop of other types of expression. At the same time, the thesis assesses anarchism in the historical context of other political, social, artistic and philosophical movements. We study the interweaving of ideological and aesthetic schemes of Czech anarchism, especially with socialism and feminism, but also concerning decadence, Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy and writings of the German Friedrichshagen poets' and anarchists' circle. The thesis focuses on how anarchism understands human beings and their relationship to the world and society. Given the anarchists' focus on the free individual, we present strategies of emancipation from traditional conventions and institutions such as marriage, family and the state. We also concentrate on reforms concerning morals and similarities with the feminist turn to one's own bodily and psychical experiences as starting points for setting...

Umělé světlo v umění / Artificial Light in Art

Víchová, Ilona January 2020 (has links)
In my dissertation I focus on light and spatial situations rooted in a dialogue between an empty space and artificial light. These environments are so charged in terms of perception that their experience affects the processes in the viewer's consciousness. First, there are usually the feelings of increased instability and disorientation. These factors were first explored in depth by the Californian artists James Turrell and Robert Irwin in the mid-1960s, in response to psychological and neurological scientific experiments in the field of sensory deprivation. Turrell's and Irwin's progressive approach found a host of followers. In Europe, it was developed, in particular, by the contemporary artists Olafur Eliasson and Ann Veronica Janssens, in the Czech milieu by Pavel Korbička. Korbička's interest in the potential of space and its definition by artificial light constitutes a key material in my dissertation for the explanation of the links between light and spatial works and the processes regarding the viewer's perception. Inside light and spatial works, the limits of the viewer's body dissolve; at the same time, the natural dependence of human orientation on allocentric representation (i.e. on the relationship between the subject and the surrounding landmarks) is stimulated, to the extent that the...

Atributy tělesnosti / attributes of corporeality

Lukešová, Eva January 2018 (has links)
My thesis titled Attributes of corporeality is a continuation of my thinking on the topic of identity. Now I approach identity as a category, not as an identity that belongs to a particular person. I consider the question of how is identity shaped in a postmodern, globalized world and how is it related to corporeality. My answer is based on the reality I know, on the current state of society. However, the intention of my work is above all to express my idea, which is rather a utopian scenario than anything else.

“Some say that happy women are immaterial:” ecofeminist materiality in the work of Virginia Woolf and Mina Loy

Jones, Alyssa 12 1900 (has links)
My thesis explores the depictions of material and natural spaces in literary works by Virginia Woolf and Mina Loy, and how both writers conceive the interconnections between their female characters and their surrounding environments. With the help of precepts of ecocriticism and of related fields such as materiality, ecofeminism and trans-corporeality in analyzing Woolf’s and Loy’s respective works, I demonstrate how the misguided preconception of Modernism’s contempt for nature can be reassessed to offer new opportunities for both ecocritical and modernist studies. Firstly, I observe the inseparability between humanity and its living environments in Woolf’s last completed novel Between the Acts and how this evolved from her earlier short story “Kew Gardens.” I also discuss the benefits of this relation for women and their artistic ambitions with the aid of Woolf’s own claims in her essay A Room of One’s Own and in conversation with studies which have attested the ecocritical elements of Woolf’s work. Secondly, I take an interest in Mina Loy’s early poetry for its exploration of feminist themes and how those intertwine with her depictions of her poems’ environments. I illustrate the active role of domestic and public spaces in the maintenance of ambient ruling patriarchal discourses and the subjugation of women to their power. This work of analysis allows me to conclude with new avenues from which to solidify the places of women modernists in the movement by the means of their environmental interests and to reforge the ignored or erased affiliations between them.

Placing Paamese : locating concerns with place, gender and movement in Vanuatu

Lind, Craig January 2011 (has links)
This is a study of coming to know what it is to be Paamese. The work seeks to present an anthropological understanding of ontological concerns that constitute a Paamese perception of subjectivities. I take my lead from Paamese perceptions that the internal capacities of subjects or “things” (e.g. persons, villages, islands, and movement itself) are revealed through relations with others. This correlates with anthropology’s methodology of testing its analytical strategies through the ethnographic practices of others in order to reach more accurate representations. Paamese, as is common elsewhere in Vanuatu and Melanesia, have an extremely fluid attitude towards sociality and easily accommodate urban dwelling without leaving Paama behind. I suggest that a nuanced multi-positioned approach in which several aspects of Paamese sociality are considered from a point of limitation employed by Paamese to focus an event, such as a marriage exchange, will present a better understanding of how these subjectivities, that is Paamese people and Paama Island, adhere such that they do not part company wherever they go. Paamese suggest that each event should be considered as if following a single branch in the canopy of a tree – a scalable perception that offers the promise that a multi-faceted approach will reveal a replicable form. I take this approach to specificity seriously and employ a looping aesthetic, measi, adapted from Paamese sand-drawing in order to consider the shifting concerns expressed by Paamese perceptions of out (place), āmal (agnatic clans), sise (road), vatte (origin), ara (blood) and asi (bone). I suggest that these, parts, can be considered together as a holography for how to come to know what it is to be Paamese.

Organet lever! : Kropp, ting och performativitet i Erik Beckmans roman Inlandsbanan (1967) / The liver is alive! : Body, thing and performativity in the novel Inlandsbanan (1967) by Erik Beckman

Nyström, Filip January 2017 (has links)
The works of Erik Beckman (1935-1995) are quite unique within the Swedish literary scene. His texts convert the experimental language of the concretists of the sixties into a new form of fabulation that undermines our understanding of what literature can be, ranging from novels and poetry to theatre pieces and radio theatre. His literary style has been discussed by critics, but the depths of it are yet to be fully explored. There is a lot to gain from combining contemporary theories of materiality and corporeality with his self-proclaimed materialistic poetics. The novel Inlandsbanan (1967) is a fragmentary account of an inland train going through Sweden, with characters coming and going in a frustrating tempo. The text is filled with word games, narrative constructs and a language that brings forth the material aspects of communication that push the boundaries of literary interpretation. This thesis examines Beckman’s novel through the lens of theoretical concepts of thingliness and corporeality developed by the likes of Judith Butler, Karen Barad, and Andrew Pickering in order to elaborate an analysis that goes beyond the surface of its experimental and materialistic use of literary language. Using bodily themes, I analyze specific passages in the novel in order to find a new understanding of its semantic functions. By doing this through the concept of performativity, not only can I identify a thematized corporeality, but beyond that a literary form and a language that problematizes the very notion of the written text as a body and highlights a material agency in literature. This method enables an interpretation of the novel that can illuminates important aspects at play that previously have not been explored.
