Evaluation of Two-Dimensional Codes for Digital Information Security in Physical DocumentsChen, Shuai 17 July 2015 (has links)
Nowadays, paper documents are still frequently used and exchanged in our daily life. To safely manage confidential paper information such as medical and financial records has increasingly become a challenge. If a patient's medical diagnosis get stolen or dumped without shredding, his or her private information would be leaked. Some companies and organizations do not pay enough attention to the problem, letting their customers suffer the loss. In the thesis, I designed a hybrid system to solve this problem effectively and economically. This hybrid system integrates physical document properties with digital security technology, which brings in a revolutionary idea for processing sensitive paper information in modern world. Based on that, I focus on different QR code sizes and versions, compare their attributes and relations, and find the best QR code size and version according to data amount in a given area. Finally I implement them in CryptoPaper word plugin, using several test cases to test the functionality of it.

Lidská práva starších osob v dokumentech Rady Evropy / Elder rights in documents of the Council of EuropeKošinová, Sabina January 2021 (has links)
Elder rights in documents of the Council of Europe The aim of this thesis is to describe documents of the Council of Europe concerning Elderly people. Documents of the Council of Europe do not contain a definition of an elderly person - like, for example, the Interamerican Union or African Union documents. We have to first find the definition of the elderly where the Council of Europe documents call a person who is over 60 years of age "elderly".The documents of the Council of Europe are a tool that is designed to help the human rights of the elderly. The aim of the documents of the Council of Europe regarding elderly people is to protect and improve the situation of the elderly who are because of their age considered a vulnerable group. The documents of the Council of Europe deal with problems like pensions, age discrimination and access to services. The most current issues that the Council of Europe have reported in their documents in 2020 and 2021 are digitalization and the coronavirus pandemic as well as the impact it has on the elderly. The documents of the Council can be divided into two types: bindng and non-binding. Binding Documents are Conventions - the most important is the European convention of human rights and European social charter. These documents offer direct protection....

Ideational leadership Evropské komise v legislativních návrzích reagujících na nárůst neregulérní migrace / The ideational leadership of the European Commission in its legislative response to the surge in irregular migrationForsman, Alice Felicia January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this paper is to examine the ideational leadership of the European Unions' executive institution, the European Commission, by studying its legislative response to the surge in irregular migration to the European Union in 2015 and 2016. In order to assess which form of ideational leadership the Commission expresses, key ideas, rooted in either liberalism or realism, were extracted from the selected documents with the help of an analytical tool, created for a deductive qualitative content analysis based on Watt Boolsens' seven step model. Ten legislative documents proposed by the Commission, deemed relevant to its response to irregular migration, ranging from the period May 2015 to June 2016, were selected. Meaningful entities of these documents were coded and designated a subcategory belonging to key ideas of either liberal or realist nature. These subcategories originate from the main categories: State & Individuals, Humanism & Rights, Borders & Security, and lastly International actors & Cooperation. This paper is thereby able to demonstrate which ideas prevail in the Commissions' legislative response to failures in policy during a time of crisis. The results indicate that the Commission expresses ideas predominantly rooted in realism, such as cooperation when deemed beneficial to the...

Euroskepticismus českých politických stran / Euroskepticism of Czech Political PartiesAmbrosová, Nikola January 2020 (has links)
The thesis deals with analysis of parties′ documents of four Czech Eurosceptic political parties. The goal is to divide political parties into groups of different levels of Euroscepticism, based on attitudes of political party to European Integration according to typology of Euroscepticism by Paul Taggart and Aleks Szczerbiak. Authors made division of "soft" and "hard" Euroscepticism, which divides political parties by depth of negative positions and attitudes towards European Integration and European union. Furthermore, the thesis answers several research questions and hypothesis. Thesis analyses party documents for election to European Parliament in 2014 and 2019. Examined political actors are Communist party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM), Civic Democratic Party (ODS), Free Citizens Party (SSO), and Dawn of Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura (Dawn)/Freedom and Direct Democracy- Tomio Okamura (SPD). Because of the principal role of leader, SPD is considered for the ongoing Dawn movement in this thesis. Keywords : Euroscepticism, Czech political parties, party documents Title: Euroscepticism of Czech Political Parties

Educating About/for Food Security Through Environmental Education: A Qualitative Study of Teacher Education Programs in OntarioValeri, Alishia Adele 09 July 2020 (has links)
Food insecurity is on the rise worldwide and within Canada due to a myriad of factors such as climatic instability, rising food prices and unsustainable food production practices. In this context, educational systems (e.g. schools and universities) can contribute to developing knowledge and awareness of food insecurity as well as fostering new ways of thinking and engaging with food premised on just and sustainable food systems. This study is situated within the field of environmental education where there is a growing body of research at the intersections of food and the environment. Likewise, it was guided by the theoretical framing of EcoJustice Education, which offers a way of teaching and learning premised on the belief that our thoughts and actions can foster and enhance more social and ecologically equitable connections between food and the environment. By engaging in semi-structured interviews with teacher educators in select teacher education programs in Ontario and conducting document reviews, I investigated how the integration of the topic of food security is taking place—or not—in the initial training of future teachers in the province. The results showed that integration is not consistent across the different organizational levels of the programs investigated (i.e. whole-program level and classroom level). Moreover, the interviews with teacher educators revealed that any practices aiming at the integration of food security topics in BEd programs were primarily guided by a sustainable cultures perspective, which sees the world as having interconnected relationships amongst all living things. This view is supported by the data analysis of interviews with teacher educators, the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum documents, and select course syllabi. On the other hand, the school curriculum documents contained conflicting views on the topic, including an understanding of the world as being based on hierarchized relationships. This research advances the field of environmental education by further adding to the limited scholarship on the topic of food security in the context of EE, as well as contributing to an account of food security education and EE with a focus on teacher education in Ontario.

Hantering av bygghandlingar : En intern granskning av STRABAG Sveriges rutiner / Managing construction documents : An internal review of STRABAG Sveriges routinesKarlsson, Robert, Andersson Markkanen, Johannes January 2012 (has links)
The construction industry is one of the oldest project-based industries of our time. In construction projects a lot of information is created and distributed, often as construction documents which are legally binding documents which form the basis for the execution of a building. It may be unclear who will read the documents, who’s responsible that documents gets read, that the documents have been understood and executed and how the information is forwarded in the workplace. There are many parameters that are important for managing construction documents, such as accountability, communication, etc. The aim of this study was to identify and answer the question set by the authors. How does STRABAG Sveriges construction document managing work? Since STRABAG Sverige is a typical Swedish contractor the authors consider that the result can be generalized in the sector. Two case studies were carried out at two of STRABAG Sveriges projects. The authors of the report used a qualitative approach in their observation of the projects. The authors conducted their data collection through qualitative interviews with the leading production staff that the authors selected. This was done to answer their thesis. Throughout the project it became clear that the managing of construction documents is connected to a lot of different parameters. Some of the problems that were determined were for example the start of the buildingprojects, where the routines weren’t properly carried out. Some other examples of problems were insufficient distribution lists, the introduction of new personnel and intern communication. The problems that were determined were analysed in comparison with the theory from literature and conclusions were made out of this material. Thus, STRABAG Sverige received recommendations from the authors about how to improve their management of the construction documents.

Convolutional Neural Networks for Named Entity Recognition in Images of Documentsvan de Kerkhof, Jan January 2016 (has links)
This work researches named entity recognition (NER) with respect to images of documents with a domain-specific layout, by means of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). Examples of such documents are receipts, invoices, forms and scientific papers, the latter of which are used in this work. An NER task is first performed statically, where a static number of entity classes is extracted per document. Networks based on the deep VGG-16 network are used for this task. Here, experimental evaluation shows that framing the task as a classification task, where the network classifies each bounding box coordinate separately, leads to the best network performance. Also, a multi-headed architecture is introduced, where the network has an independent fully-connected classification head per entity. VGG-16 achieves better performance with the multi-headed architecture than with its default, single-headed architecture. Additionally, it is shown that transfer learning does not improve performance of these networks. Analysis suggests that the networks trained for the static NER task learn to recognise document templates, rather than the entities themselves, and therefore do not generalize well to new, unseen templates. For a dynamic NER task, where the type and number of entity classes vary per document, experimental evaluation shows that, on large entities in the document, the Faster R-CNN object detection framework achieves comparable performance to the networks trained on the static task. Analysis suggests that Faster R-CNN generalizes better to new templates than the networks trained for the static task, as Faster R-CNN is trained on local features rather than the full document template. Finally, analysis shows that Faster R-CNN performs poorly on small entities in the image and suggestions are made to improve its performance.
