A teatralidade na dança do grupo Primeiro Ato / The theatricality on the dance of Primeiro Ato Group.

Gisela Dória Sirimarco 03 September 2009 (has links)
This study represents a reflection on the theatricality developed by the Primeiro Ato Dance Group. It begins with a short historical retrospective of Brazilian Modern Dance, going through a period from the twenties to the seventies of the past century, a moment when aspects related to contemporary dance emerged in the Brazilian dance scene. In this way, a path was designed, from a macro to a micro point of view, from events occurred throughout Brazil to the State of Minas Gerais, and then to the work created by Primeiro Ato specifically. Then, a kind of Double approach was explored. Firstly from dance to theatre, analyzing some of its most important creators, and secondly from theatre to dance, in order to achieve what was called here the amalgam between these art forms. In the final part of this study, a production named Sem Lugar was chosen as a reference through which theatricality can be recognized as a result of a deep dialogue with dance, a process which generates, in turn, different dramaturgies that intertwine, characterizing a poetic layer which makes the work created by Primeiro Ato truly unique.

Crônica do Teatro Ludovicense em meados do Século XIX (1852-1867): arte, negócio e entretenimento / -

Jacqueline Silva Mendes 05 November 2014 (has links)
The present study sought to extend the history of Ludovicense Theater in the second half of the nineteenth century, in the period of 1852-1867, through the advertisements of spectacles, theatrical essays, criticism that has been voiced in the nineteenth-century periodicals. We have identified theatrical entrepreneurs and artists who moved to the province of São Luíz for 15 years, providing moments of luxury, glory and applause to the \"Teatro São Luiz\". We have unveiled a theatrical repertoire that is very close to what was or was being seen in court back then. This historical reconstruction allowed us to highlight \"maranhenses\" authors who have passed through the typographies and stages of São Luíz. The analysis of three works from these authors enabled us to verify that this dramaturgy was built in practice with reference to the readings of plays, as well as the ones seen on ludovicense stages

Dramaturgia em movimento (tradição e ruptura na escrita teatral contemporânea brasileira) / Dramaturgy on the move: tradition and rupture in Brazilian contemporary theatrical writing

Samir Yazbek 18 May 2017 (has links)
We intend, in this essay, to search out for possibilities of experimentation and renovation of Brazilian theatrical writing, analysing the relationship between tradition and rupture in the field of dramaturgical language (mostly throughout the last five decades) and investigating the notion of authorial individuation, specifically dramatic use of language and dramaturgical style.

Since the early nineties, the boundaries of dramaturgy have expanded beyond the already known exclusive theatrical practice demarcations. Nowadays, dramaturgy is one of the most important themes of contemporary art, inasmuch as it is not only about the dramaturgy of theatrical text, but also of the body, dance, and show. Within this universe, we seek to understand the construction of dramaturgy in contemporary dance, through the discussions that emerge from the relation between choreographer and playwright, with the intent of identifying, in the scene as well as in the speech, the concept expressed by them on what dramaturgy happens to be, and the insertion of the playwright into the specificities of the choreographic concept. Therefore, we'll make use of a theoretical-analytical approach, implemented through the combination of show analysis with collecting of documents and the use of semi-structured interviews that might bring questions and answers up on the theme. Certainly, there will be difficulties in accomplishing this research, insofar as this is an ongoing theme within contemporary art. Nevertheless, its accomplishment also hints at fascinating discoveries, which are essential to the work of stage artists, so that it's feasible to foresee a relevant contribution to the understanding of dramaturgy in dance and the performance of playwrights in some contemporary dance companies / Mestrado / Artes Cenicas / Mestra em Artes

Venezuela, from Charisma to Mimicry: The Rise and Fall of a Televised Political Drama

Blackwell, Rebecca 20 June 2016 (has links)
In this paper, I build on the assumption that collective emotional experience plays an important role in sustaining the group identity central to nation-making processes inspired by charismatic leaders. This analysis is based on a case study of the Venezuelan government after the death of Hugo Chávez. I examine ways in which elements of the leader’s narrative are used by his successors after his death. I also argue that the current political actors of the bureaucratized Revolutionary Government of Venezuela are attempting to sustain popular support by reaffirming a national identity that resonated among the masses largely due to the charisma of a now absent leader. I wish to explore the probability or lack thereof of a sustained emotional connection of the government regime with the mass audience.

Les opéras de Tchaïkovski : dramaturgie du fatum et intériorisation du drame musical / Tchaikovski’s operas : fatum’s dramaturgy and interiorization of musical drama

Fortuna-Makarov, Virginia 15 January 2011 (has links)
Tchaikovski’s music is an inexhaustible source, like a book that one can read and read over again, still containing among the most interesting pages. This work intend to approach the Tchaikovski’s operas from the angle of the fatum’s dramaturgy : dramaturgy as thinking structure, meaning evocative, as it contains the way of thinking of its creator ; and fatum as an ineluctable force, omnipresent in the creation of this romantic composer. In order to build what would be the musico-dramatic system of Tchaikovski, we searched the fondamental axes – commun for all these works –, dissociating the acting forces of the dramatic action. This work want to be also a try to put in concrete form the realization in music of one of the fondamental dramaturgical category – the conflict. It propose also a synthesis of some of the formal, tonal and orchestral principles serving the goal of a opera dramaturgy, subtle and efficient in the same time.

Play in the Woods: The Role of the Dramaturg in Facilitating a Holistic, Slow Theater-Making Process

Nolan, Claudia 25 October 2018 (has links)
In this thesis, I document the ideas behind and my process for Play in the Woods, an experiment in slow theater-making that serves as a model for how dramaturgs can facilitate sustainable, holistic methods of performance. This model is grounded in feminist theater practices and the aesthetic of poor theater. In creating the performance of Play in the Woods, I as dramaturg invited participants to serve as co-creators, individually crafting pieces that examined fairytales and the role those stories have played on their lives. The performance was held out of doors at the Amethyst Brook Conservation Area on the afternoon of May 5th, 2018. This framework allowed for an examination of the role of childhood and memory, as well as space, place, and the natural world, on my and the other performers’ sense of self in light of our personal and cultural influences.

CUANDO LAS ISLAS TIENEN ALAS: DIVERSIDAD E INCLUSIÓN ÉTNICO-RACIAL Y DE SEXUALIDAD EN LA DRAMATURGIA FEMENINA HISPANO-CARIBEÑA EN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS

Unknown Date (has links)
The dramaturgy written by Cuban American, Puerto Rican, and Dominican American women propels Hispanic-Caribbean theater beyond the geographical borders of their islands, thus creating and nurturing, transnational cultural enclaves that support it while also transforming the cultural theatrical environment of the United States. This dramaturgy, with its themes and arguments, puts into practice the feminist and LGBTQ critical theories with a focus on minority groups in US society. This work analyzes Hispanic-Caribbean theater traditions from their origins to the transformations they undergo in the United States given the influence of the various Caribbean diasporas. The essential characteristics of this drama, written by women, lead to the creation of a new theater characterized by its hybrid and bilingual roots. This dramatic cultural transformation reveals the diversity and inclusion of ethnic, racial, sexual identities, and the myriad intersectionalities found in the diasporic island communities from which it takes flight. / Includes bibliography. / Dissertation (PhD)--Florida Atlantic University, 2021. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Beyond the Human Voice: Francis Poulenc's Psychological Drama La Voix humaine (1958)

Beard, Cynthia C. 05 1900 (has links)
Francis Poulenc's one-character opera La Voix humaine (1958), a setting of the homonymous play by Jean Cocteau, explores the psychological complexities of an unnamed woman as she experiences the end of a romantic relationship. During the forty-minute work, she sings in a declamatory manner into a telephone, which serves as a sign of the unrevealed man at the other end. Poulenc uses musical motives to underscore the woman's changing emotional states as she recalls her past relationship. The musical dramaturgy in this work resignifies Debussy's impressionist symbolism by collapsing devices used in Pelléas et Mélisande in a language that shifts between octatonicism, chromaticism, harmonic and melodic whole tone passages, and diatonicism. This late work recontextualizes elements in Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites (1953-56), and the end of the opera provides a theme for his Sonate pour Clarinet et Piano(1962), as Poulenc reflects on his youthful encounters with Cocteau, Erik Satie, and Les Six.

L'aventure théâtrale de Louis-Benoît Picard (1769-1828) / The theatral adventure of Louis-Benoît Picard (1769-1828)

Btoush, Ahmad Bahjat al- 07 July 2017 (has links)
The literary heritage of Picard can reach as many as a hundred plays and about six novels. He deals with the social, political and religious problems of his time, like Molière, who seems to be the first source of inspiration for our playwright. In his Mémoires, Alexandre Dumas describes Louis-Benoît Picard as "the little Moliere of the nineteenth century or the modern Moliere". This rapprochement seems more or less debatable insofar as the traces of this "little Moliere" are rare today and it is now completely forgotten in Literary History. Between this assertion of Dumas and the mediocre place occupied by our dramatist in the history of the theater, two explanations could be envisaged. The first is that the revolutionary period in which Louis-Benoît Picard lived has been overloaded historically and critics who are interested in this period place more importance on historical events than on literary productions, Most of the writers of this period have fallen into oblivion. The second explanation belongs to Picard's literary productions themselves, represented as repetitive, conventional, and far from original.
