Remote Innovation - Co-Creation During Times of Pandemic

Gerstheimer, Oliver, Schütz, Philipp, Englisch, Philipp, Wimmer, Erhard 09 September 2021 (has links)

Nováková, Hana January 2022 (has links)
The aim of the work is to map the experience of employees who during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic found themselves compulsorily and at the same time for the first time at the home office, for at least 3 weeks. Differences in experience between men and women and personality dimensions of extraversion are also monitored. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical description of classical work from home, the basic concepts are introduced and various psychological aspects are discussed. The second part traces the time of the first wave of the pandemic in the Czech Republic, characterizes the Czech Republic's approach to home office and similarly discusses the experience of people in a mandatory HO in various aspects. The type of work is a mixed research. Data collection was performed with the help of a self- created questionnaire, which also contains two scales from the DOPEN questionnaire: extraversion and L-scale. The aim of the work was achieved in two ways. Qualitative analysis of written answers was performed using the method of grounded theory. In the quantitative analysis of the data, the Mann-Whitney U test method was used to compare overall satisfaction at mandatory HO by gender and Spearman's correlation coefficient to monitor the relationship between variables such as...

Abboud, Ruqaya, Kraft, Lisa January 2022 (has links)
The aim of this study is to investigate the employee's view of the workplace's flexibility in two contexts, in the office and at home. The study has a qualitative approach based on six semi-structured interviews of employees in four different organizations. Furthermore, the employees' experience of support, routines and structures have been researched as well as the advantages and disadvantages of working in two contexts. The results indicate that all respondents appreciate the flexibility in their working life. It has contributed to a simplified everyday life that concerns private affairs such as child pickup, training, social life and a sense of freedom. However, flexible work has its challenges such as the demarcation between work and privacy becoming diffuse. Nevertheless, it is clear that the respondents value flexible workplace it feels that the opportunities weigh more than the challenges. The results also indicate that the employee's personal characteristics have a decisive factor in managing their workplace in two contexts. In accordance with Lave and Wenger's (1991) theory of context bounded learning, the context does not mean only one, it can mean several contexts.

Ravlyk, Šimon January 2019 (has links)
Šimon Ravlyk, Homeworking, Dissertation thesis, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Law, Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law, Prague, 2018. Number of pages 101. The topic of this dissertation thesis is a debated issue called "homeoffice and homeworking", which originates from "atypical and flexible forms of work/employment", which are not captured in our labour code as a relevant section that describes legal foundation for setting up standards for employees, nor the employer. The Selected topic comes out of current needs of labour market, ergo needs from the companies, employers and employees. These needs are rising from changes and implementations of new terms and conditions for working out of employers work place, it also originates from demands of young population for more flexible and "free" working time. It comes hand in hand with industry revolution called Industry 4.0. The thesis is brainstorming about changing the established terms of atypical forms of work, if they even still are "atypical" or did they become a new standard for employment relations. Dissertation thesis describes to date atypical forms of employment and mutually compares them together. It is also focusing on comparing labour law in our labour code and the labour code of Slovak republic. Next the thesis is...

Příčiny a důsledky workoholismu u žen v době koronavirové krize / Workoholism among working women duin the COVID19 crisis: causes and consequences

Pleskačová, Valérie January 2022 (has links)
This work aims to determine the causes and consequences of workaholism in women working in corporate who had to move from offices to home offices during the coronavirus crisis. The research is conducted on a sample of fourteen women respondents and one male respondent. The selection was made using the snowball method based on age, education, marital status and employment in Alza.cz or Mall.cz e-shops. All participants answered open questions in essays focused on their home office work habits, daily routine and family relationship. Data were analyzed using grounded theory, based on which I developed eight categories - interest in work, stress/fear, workspace, work schedule, setting boundaries between work and personal life, leisure activities, social interactions and roles in the household. These I subsequently organized and discussed in connection with previous research focused on workaholism, work from home and work-family conflict, such as Samantha Ammons, Cecilia Andreassen or Bryan Robinson. The conclusion of the thesis summarizes the results, the limits of the study and recommendations for future research.

Care and Careers: Gender Differences in the Reconciliation of Work and Family

Samtleben, Claire 24 May 2022 (has links)
Reconciling work and family is one of the greatest challenges and, simultaneously, a precondition for gender equality both in the labor market and in the domestic sphere. In three empirical chapters, this dissertation illustrates the relevance of care work for the labor market participation of women and men, as well as the role of companies in the effort to reconcile work and family responsibilities. In the first paper, this dissertation asks about the role of housework and care and its distribution in the couple for the labor market participation of women and men. The analysis uses data from the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) from 2001-2017 on time use for various household chores as well as childcare and eldercare. First-difference instrumental variable regressions (FD-IV) are estimated to best approximate a causal identification. The second paper examines fathers’ reasons against taking (longer) parental leave. Building on this, a mixed-methods research design is used to investigate which firm-level determinants explain (longer) parental leave use by men and women. Furthermore, it analyzes whether, and in which company contexts, men and women experience perceived career setbacks after taking parental leave. The database is qualitative and quantitative data from a supplementary survey to the AID:A II. The third paper investigates the question of the relationship between working from home and work-family conflicts. Specifically, it analyzes whether there are differences according to corporate culture. Based on the LPP-ADIAB, multilevel regressions with occupation fixed effects are estimated separately for men and women. Overall, the dissertation demonstrates gender-specific differences in the challenge of reconciling gainful employment and private obligations. In addition, it points out the necessity of political reforms and the need for action, but also the potential for companies to shape these changes.
