Vliv materiální podpory a socioekonomických podmínek rodin na výběr sportu / The effect of material demands and socio-economic status of families on the choice of sport

Veselý, Štěpán January 2021 (has links)
Title: The effect of material demands and socio-economic status of families on the choice of sport Objectives: Find out if material support in the form of renting hockey gear enables families to overcome the barrier of financial demands when choosing ice hockey as a sport for children. Using the material support may be related to level of socioeconomic status. Therefore, the dependence of using material support and level of the socioeconomic status will be examined. Results can be utilised for better planning of projects which aim at supporting and expanding the membership base of ice hockey or other sports. Methods: In the thesis secondary data analysis method will be used. Moreover, primary data will be collected, using quantitative method of questioning. Results: Failure to provide material support is not a significant barrier for choosing ice hockey as a sport for children. The possibility of material support rather allows parents to easily and quickly provide their kids with hockey equipment in one place. Thanks to this, their children can try ice hockey for the first time. Possibility of renting equipment free of charge means that parents do not primarily look for a reduction of costs on purchasing of hockey gear. The socio-economic status of families whose children play ice hockey is rather...

Analýza a predikce výsledků ligových utkání / Analysis and prediction of league games results

Šimsa, Filip January 2015 (has links)
The thesis is devoted to an analysis of ice hockey matches results in the highest Czech league competition in seasons 1999/2000 to 2014/2015 and to prediction of the following matches. We describe and apply Kalman filter theory where forms of teams represent an unobservable state vector and results of matches serve as measurements. Goal differences are identified as a suitable transformation of a match result. They are used as a dependent variable in a linear regression to find significant predictors. For a prediction of a match result we construct an ordinal model with those predictors. By using generalized Gini coefficient, we compare a diversifica- tion power of this model with betting odds, which are offered by betting companies. At the end, we combine knowledge of odds before a match with other predictors to make a prediction model. This model is used to identify profitable bets. 1

Vztah kvality života a psychické odolnosti a vytrvalosti u hráčů parahokeje a vozíčkářského rugby / Relationship of quality of life and hardiness, relisience and grit in parahockey and wheelchair rugby players

Jiskrová, Markéta January 2020 (has links)
anglicky Objectives: This thesis aims to investigate whether we can predict the general and sport- specific quality of life of athletes with physical disabilities based on selected positive psychological constructs (resilience, hardiness and grit). Method: Forty players of para ice-hockey and wheelchair rugby (of which only two were women) underwent this study. The data were obtained by a questionnaire, compiled by Professor Martin from Wayne State University, which contains six parts: general information, life satisfaction, grit, resilience, sports engagement and hardiness. The "translation and reverse translation" method was used to translate the questionnaire. We used the statistical program IBM SPSS 2200 to analyze the obtained data. Results: Life satisfaction can be best predicted on the basis of hardiness (R = 0.686), but also resilience (R = 0.496) and grit (R = 0.340). We can predict sports engagement only based on resilience (R = 0.374). We recommend searching for other possible positive constructs that could better predict sports engagement. Key words: quality of life, sport engagement, life satisfaction, resilience, hardiness, grit, para ice hockey, wheelchair rugby

Title: The comparison of ice skating efficiency developed by drill vs. gaming form in the U - 10 category. Objectives: The aim of this dissertation is to compare the efficiency of skating developed by drill and game forms of training using speed-skill tests for ice hockey players under the age of 10. Methods: This work used the method of quantitative analysis of test results for ice hockey players of the U10 age category. The tested group consisted of 18 players of the U10 age category from the HC Hvězda Praha team. The dissertation includes three stages of data collection. The first set of data is preliminary, the second set of data is collected after the intervention by the drill form of training and the third set of data is collected after the intervention by the game form of training. The development of skating skills in drill and game form of training always took place in the first twenty minutes of the training. The obtained sets of data were recorded and then evaluated in accord with Friedmanan and Wilcoxon tests. Results: In the 6.1 m sprint, the 35 m sprint and the S-Corner test, slalom with a puck test and the crossing with a puck test there was recorded improvement after each intervention. In the crossing without a puck test the difference was recorded only after the drill form of...

"Vad ska jag göra nu, jag hade inget att gå till" : Herr elithockeyspelares upplevelser av övergången från idrott till karriären efteråt – En kvalitativ retrospektiv studie. / "What should I do now, I had nothing to go to" : Male elite hockey players’ experiences of the transition from sports to careers afterwards – A qualitative retrospective study.

Davidsson, Oscar, Borgh, Marcus January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to examine former men's elite hockey players' experiences of the transition from sports to careers afterwards. All participants have played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) which is the highest hockey league in Sweden. Eleven interviewees participated in the survey, only men aged 35-53 (M = 43, SD = 5.29). The study used a semi-structured interview guide to conduct the interviews and it was produced using the holistic career development model (Wylleman, 2019) and the athletic career transition model (Stambulova, 2009). The results showed that all participants experienced challenges in making the career transition from elite hockey players to civilian life. The biggest challenges were an uncertainty about the future in the form of not knowing what to do after their elite career. The participants felt that the support from family, friends and the club were important resources during the transition. Barriers that emerged were unpredictable transitions in the form of injuries, many participants focused only on sports, did not see that there is a life after the career and that one day there will be an end to the sports career. The coping strategies that the participants highlighted were to use a double career by studying sports or working when given the opportunity, to be aware of the career after elite hockey in the form of preparations for working life. I undersökningen deltog elva intervjupersoner, enbart män i åldrarna 35–53 (M=43, SD=5.29).

Title: Difference in the efficiency of heavy puck and light puck training in midget male ice hockey players Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare the training efficiency of heavy and light puck forehand shooting in groups with different skill levels with focus on short- hand shooting, long-hand shooting and wrist-shooting in midget male ice hockey players. Methods: Intervention experiment method was used to perform this work, in which two tested groups were compared by ANOVA analysis. The significance of change was determined by Cohen's d parameter. The two tested groups consisted of 16 midget male ice hockey players of SK Černošice ice hockey club. The study consists of three measurements of shot speed, shot accuracy and handgrip strength measured before and after the first six-week training cycle and at the end of second six-week training cycle. The shooting training was performed by long swing, short swing and wrist-shot technique using heavy-weight and light-weight pucks. These pucks were used in specific shooting training drills. Results: Skill-wise technically better equipped players (starting with heavy weight puck program) reported bigger improvement in long swing, short swing and wrist- shot shot speed and accuracy after heavy-weight puck training program than after light-weight...

Analys av huvudets kinematik i ishockey : för situationer som inte ger hjärnskakningar / Analysis of head kinematics in ice hockey : For non-concussion situations

Saleh, Aso January 2015 (has links)
The report includes analysis of 15 different situations in Ice-hockey. The situations are hard tackles from different matches and leagues. The analyzed tackles did Not resulted to concussion, but similar situations can be concussions. The goal of the project includes creating a control group for the studies of concussions in ice-hockey. Previous or parallel studies have been down to situations that result to concussions. The report indicates short to head and neck anatomy that is scalp, brain and skull. The concept of concussion with its symptoms explained in this report. The selected video sequences were analyzed head kinematics and collision sequences between the head and the other part that may be another person's shoulder, head, arm or ice or glass wall. When the video sequences were analyzed attempted to controll the head speed, head acceleration and the tackles angle. The results should agree with previous works.

Using Reinforcement Learning to Evaluate Player Pair Performance in Ice Hockey

Ljung, Dennis January 2021 (has links)
A recent study using reinforcement learning with a Q-functions to quantify the impact of individual player actions in ice hockey has shown promising results. The model takes into account the context of the actions and captures internal dynamic features of the play which simple common metrics e.g., counting goals or assists, do not. It also performs look ahead which is important in a low scoring game like ice hockey. However, it does not capture the chemistry between the players i.e., how well the players play together which is important in a team sport like ice hockey. In this paper, we, therefore, extend this earlier work on individual player performance with new metrics on player pairs impact when on ice together. Our resulting top pairings are compared to NHL’s official statistics and extended analysis is performed that investigate the relationship with time on ice which provides insights that could be of relevance to coaches.
