Currently, the fourth industrial revolution, better known as "industry 4.0", is becoming the trajectory of economic development of the countries. The conglomerate of large Industrialists and experts argues that in modern conditions, the industrial enterprise to improve competitiveness and progressive development must meet the trends of "Industry 4.0", because, according to them, the fourth industrial revolution captures the whole world. One of the signs of "Industry 4.0" is the high innovative activity of an economic entity (enterprise), in this regard, there is a need for an effective mechanism for managing innovation activity. Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of increasing the innovative activity of domestic enterprises in his speech at the enlarged meeting of the State Council "On the development strategy of Russia". The aim of the dissertation research is to develop a methodological approach to the management of innovative activity of industrial enterprises. The scientific novelty of the thesis is as follows: the methodical approach to management of innovative activity of the enterprise which basis the need of an assessment of influence of factors of external and internal environment, the structural and logical scheme of an assessment of the current state of innovative activity including separate quantitative and qualitative assessment of its indicators, formation on this basis of economic indicators of activity of the enterprise is offered, their monitoring in order to increase the validity of management decisions for the effective use of all types of enterprise resources and achieve the required level of innovation activi. / В настоящее время траекторией экономического развития стран становится четвертая промышленная революция, более известная как «Индустрия 4.0». Конгломерат крупных промышленников и экспертов утверждает, что в современных условиях промышленному предприятию для повышения конкурентоспособности и поступательного развития необходимо соответствовать трендам «Индустрии 4.0», поскольку, по их словам, четвертая промышленная революция захватывает весь мир. Одним из признаков «Индустрии 4.0» является высокая инновационная активность хозяйствующего субъекта (предприятия), в связи с этим возникает потребность в эффективном механизме управления инновационной активностью. Важность повышения инновационной активности отечественных предприятий в своем выступлении подчеркнул В.В. Путин на расширенном заседании Государственного совета «О стратегии развития России». Целью диссертационного исследования является разработка методического подхода к управлению инновационной активностью промышленного предприятия. Научная новизна диссертации заключается в следующем: предложен методический поход к управлению инновационной активностью предприятия, в основу которого заложена необходимость оценки влияния факторов внешней и внутренней среды, структурно-логическая схема оценки текущего состояния инновационной активности, включающая раздельную количественную и качественную оценку её показателей, формирование на этой основе экономических показателей деятельности предприятия, их мониторинг с целью повышения обоснованности принимаемых управленческих решений для эффективного использования всех видов ресурсов предприятия и достижения необходимого уровня инновационной активности.

This study investigates tourism micro firms’ innovative behavior amid the time of global pandemic Covid-19 within the geographical context of Dalarna County in Sweden. Moreover, this study explores the major factors that drive tourism micro firms for innovation during the pandemic. A qualitative approach is adopted to explore and understand tourism firms’ behavior from their perspectives. The results reveal that all tourism micro firms that participated in this research have adopted some changes during the pandemic. However, most of these changes are non-technological and incremental with high market orientation. When it comes to the driving factors behind tourism micro firms’ innovative behaviors, this study finds that tourism micro firms’ innovative behaviors are largely influenced by owner-managers’ personal traits, and the human capitals that tourism firms possess. Besides, the development stage of the firm and the industry where the firm is in can also affect micro firms’ decisions on innovations. In addition, the study identifies that tourism trends stimulated during the pandemic and the widespread ICT can trigger tourism innovation if tourism firms capture the opportunity and take actions on it. Findings of this study can help the regional government and destination management organizations to have a closer look at tourism micro firms’ business behavior during the pandemic, and to have a better understanding of the cause and means of micro firms’ innovation activities so as to provide better support and planning to help them to get back to the new normal.

Analys av flytande studentbostäder i Sverige / Analysis of floating student housing in Sweden

Sverige i allmänhet och storstäderna i synnerhet har de senaste decennierna upplevt en tydlig bostadsbrist orsakad av ökad population och en omfattande urbanisering. Miljonprogrammet, Folkhemmet och Barnrikehus är historiska reformer med mål att möta tidigare bostadsbrist situationer. Idag står vi inför liknande problem där flera utsatta grupper har svårt att ta sig in den redan hårt konkurrensutsatta bostadsmarknaden. En tydligt utsatt grupp är studenter, där idag 21 av 38 högskolekommuner står med ett underskott av studentbostäder. Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera affärsmöjligheterna för flytande studentbostäder i Sverige. Genom att observera de två planerade projekt som idag pågår i Sverige, samt intervjua aktörerna som är inblandade i dessa, ges olika perspektiv om de hinder och möjligheter som bostadsformen står inför. De redan utförda projekten för vanliga flytande bostäder som idag finns i Stockholm och Amsterdam som studeras närmare visar att flytande bostäder är tekniskt genomförbart. Även genom tidigare studier bekräftar den tekniska genomförbarheten för bostadsformen och fokus i denna studie kan därför riktas mot de juridiska och ekonomiska aspekterna. Det kan konstateras att det finns en potential för företag att satsa på flytande studentbostäder, men att det finns hinder för dessa bostäder att bli verklighet i större skala. Lagar, brist på färdigställda flytande studentbostäder som lämnar affärsmöjligheter oprövade samt små beställningar är några av de identifierade hindren. Vidare kan det fastslås att en viktig faktor för att boendeformen ska ses som lönsam i Sverige är att den uppförs för permanent bruk och därmed kategoriseras som vattenfastighet. / Sweden in general and the big cities in particular have experienced a clear housing shortage in recent decades characterized by increased population and extensive urbanization. “ Miljonprogrammet”, “Folkhemmet” and “Barnrikehus” are historical reforms aiming at quickly lessening the shortage of affordable housing. Today we are facing similar problems where several vulnerable groups find it difficult to enter the already competitive housing market. One of these groups are the students, where today 21 out of 38 university municipalities stand with a deficit of student housing. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the business opportunities of floating student housing in Sweden. By observing the two planned projects that exist in Sweden today, as well as interviewing the actors involved in these, different perspectives are given about the obstacles and opportunities that this housing form faces. The existing projects for ordinary floating housing, like those in Stockholm and Amsterdam, supports the technical achievability for this form of housing. Even through previous studies there is extensive evidence of technical feasibility and focus can therefore be directed towards the legal and economic aspects. It can be stated that there is a potential for companies to invest in floating student housing, but that there exists obstacles that prevent the housing form from becoming a reality on a larger scale. Current laws, lack of completed floating student housing projects that leaves unproven business opportunities and small orders are some of the identified obstacles. Furthermore, it can be stated that an important factor for the form of housing to be seen as profitable in Sweden is that it is erected in permanent use and thus categorized as water property.

Innovative structural details using high strength steel for steel bridges

The use of high strength steel has the potential to reduce the amount of steel used in bridge structures and thereby facilitate a more sustainable construction. The amount of steel and what steel grade that can be used in bridge structures and other cyclic loaded structures are often limited by a material degradation process called fatigue. The fatigue resistance of steel bridges are to a large extent depending on the design of structural details and connections. The design engineer is limited by a few pre-existing structural details and connections – with rather poor fatigue resistance – to choose from when designing steel bridges, and is therefore often forced to increase the overall dimensions of the structure in order to cope with the design requirements of fatigue. This licentiate thesis aims at increasing the fatigue resistance of fatigue prone structural details and connections by implementing new and innovative structural solutions to the already pre-existing details given in the design standards. A typical fatigue prone detail is the vertical stiffener at an intermediate cross-beam, which will be in focus. By improving the fatigue resistance, less steel material will be required for the construction of new steel bridges and composite bridges of steel and concrete. It is shown in this thesis and the appended papers that the use of high strength steel for bridge structures can considerably reduce the amount of steel used, the steel cost and the harmful emissions. However, this is only true if the fatigue strength of critical details can be substantially improved. Furthermore, a few new and innovative structural details and modifications to already existing details are proposed in this thesis and in the appended papers, that have the potential to increase the fatigue resistance of steel bridges and composite bridges of steel and concrete. However, further analyses are required in order to make these structural details viable for construction. / Genom användandet av höghållfast stål så kan en mindre mängd material användas som i sin tur leder till ett mer hållbart byggande. Mängden stål och vilken stålkvalité som kan användas vid byggandet av stålbroar och andra cykliskt belastade konstruktioner avgörs ofta av nedbrytningsprocessen utmattning. Utmatningskapaciteten hos stålbroar är till stor del beroende av brons anslutningsdetaljer. Brokonstruktören har vid designstadiet ett begränsat antal beprövade anslutningsdetaljer att välja bland – vilka ofta har relativt låg utmattningskapacitet – och konstruktören är därmed ofta tvungen att öka konstruktionens dimensioner för att klara av kraven gällande utmattning. Den har licentiatuppsatsen har till syfte att förbättra utmattningskapaciteten för utmattningsbenägna anslutningsdetaljer i stål genom att införa nya och innovativa anslutningsdetaljer, bland de redan existerande detaljerna som finns i de olika standarderna. En utmattningskritisk detalj som kommer att ligga i fokus är anslutningen mellan livavstyvningen och tvärförbanden hos en I-balk. Genom att förbättra utmattningskapaciteten så kan en mindre mängd stålmaterial användas vid byggandet av stålbroar och samverkansbroar i betong och stål. I denna uppsatsen kunde det påvisas att höghallfast stål for broar kan betydligt sänka mängden stålmaterial, stålkostnaden och koldioxidutsläppen. Dock så gäller detta enbart om utmattningskapaciteten for kritiska anslutningsdetaljer kan ökas avsevärt. Dessutom, som en del av den har uppsatsen så har ett par nya och innovativa anslutningsdetaljer föreslagits som har potential att forbättra utmattningskapaciteten. Dock, så krävs ytterligare studier for att dessa förslag skall kunna användas i byggnation av nya stålbroar. / <p>QC 20190925</p>
