This paper presents dilemmas that arose in the process of translation to Swedish of parts of a French book on children’s emotional development and parenting. Three specific domains are discussed: 1) The choice of pronoun for child. A new genderneutral personal pronoun that has gained ground in Swedish in recent years presents a practical solution, but implies some editing in order not to be too salient and repetitive. 2) The relationship between author and readers created by an inclusive and personal language. 3) The need in the target text to add « hedges », a form of metadiscourse markers defined by Hyland (1998 :1) as « any linguistics means used to indicate either a) a lack of complete commitment to the truth value of the accompanying proposition, or b) a desire not to express that commitment categorically ». The problems and the choices made have been put into the context of the functionalist approach to translation presented by Ingo (2007). The feelings of the target text readers have been in focus in all three instances of discussion and the need for translators to be aware of metadiscourse and rhetorical conventions have been explored.

Användningen av Artificiell Intelligens (AI) är utbredd bland verksamma företag idag, likväl privatpersoner. Det har blivit en integrerad del av vårt samhälle som ofta går obemärkt förbi. Allt från face recognition, självkörande bilar och automatisering inom arbetsrelaterade områden, har AI onekligen påverkat omvärlden. I takt med att AI-modeller fortsätter att utvecklas tillkommer även farhågor om dess påverkan på jobb, tillhörande säkerhetsrisker och etiska dilemman. Uppsatsens litteratur hjälper till att skildra AI historiskt, i nutid, men även ge en uppfattning om vart den är på väg. Den AI-modell som i nuläget har väckt störst uppmärksamhet är ChatGPT. Dess potential tycks inte ha några gränser, därmed uppstod relevansen för att öka kunskapen kring AI-modellen. Vidare gjordes en avgränsning, där fokusområdet var att undersöka hur ChatGPT kan generera kodkommentarer och potentiellt agera som ett hjälpmedel vid kommentering av källkod. I samband med avgränsningen och fokusområdet bildades även forskningsfrågan: Large Language Models: Bedömning av ChatGPT:s potential som verktyg för kommentering av kod För att besvara forskningsfrågan har avhandlingen varit baserat på en kvalitativ ansats, där urvalet av respondenter har varit programmerare. Den primära datainsamlingen har genomförts via två semistrukturerade intervjuer, varav den inledande innefattade initiala känslor kring ChatGPT och övergripande fakta om respektive intervjuobjekt. Vidare gjordes det en observation för att få en inblick i hur AI-modellen används av programmerare, för att avslutningsvis göra en uppföljande intervju post-observation i syfte att samla tankarna från intervjuobjekten efter användning av ChatGPT för att generera kodkommentarer. Baserat på den insamlade empirin kunde studien konkludera vissa begränsningar i den nuvarande modellen, inte minst behovet av tydliga instruktioner. Trots brister visar ChatGPTs framställning potential att vara en betydande resurs för kommentering av kod i framtiden. Resultaten indikerar att modellen kan generera relativt passande kommentarer i de analyserade kodkodstycken. Emellertid uttryckte deltagarna under de avslutande intervjuerna generellt sett att kommentarerna var redundanta och saknade betydande värde för att öka förståelsen av källkoden. Respondenterna diskuterade dock möjligheterna att använda ChatGPT i framtiden, men underströk behovet av förbättringar för att göra det till en tillförlitlig metod inom arbetsrelaterade situationer. / The usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is widespread among both companies and individuals today. It has become an integrated part of our society, often going unnoticed. From face recognition and self-driving cars to automation in work-related areas, AI has undeniably impacted the world. As AI models continue to evolve, concerns about their impact on jobs, associated security risks, and ethical dilemmas arise. The literature in this essay helps portray AI historically, in the present, and provides an insight into its future direction. The AI model that has currently garnered the most attention is ChatGPT. Its potential seems limitless, which prompted the relevance of increasing knowledge about the AI model. Furthermore, a delimitation was made, where the focus area was to investigate how ChatGPT can generate code comments and potentially act as a tool for commenting source code. As part of the research focus and scope, the research question was formulated: "Large Language Models: Assessment of ChatGPT's Potential as a Tool for Code Commenting." To answer the research question, the thesis adopted a qualitative approach, with programmers as the selected respondents. The primary data collection was conducted through two semi-structured interviews, where the initial interview involved capturing initial impressions of ChatGPT and gathering general information about the interviewees. Additionally, an observation was carried out to gain insights into how programmers utilize the AI model, followed by a post-observation interview to gather the interviewees' thoughts after using ChatGPT to generate code comments. Based on the collected empirical data, the study was able to conclude certain limitations in the current model, particularly the need for clear instructions. Despite these limitations, ChatGPT's performance demonstrates the potential to be a significant resource for code commenting in the future. The results indicate that the model can generate relatively suitable comments in the analyzed code snippets. However, during the concluding interviews, participants generally expressed that the comments were redundant and lacked significant value in enhancing the understanding of the source code. Nevertheless, the respondents 2 discussed the possibilities of using ChatGPT in the future, while emphasizing the need for improvements to establish it as a reliable method in work-related situations.

Covid-19 pandemin skapade många begränsningar i det fysiska mötet för företag i Sverige. Problematiken för de företag som inte kunde erbjuda sin produkt på samma sätt digitalt var det som skapade ett intresse att genomföra denna studie. Många företag fick göra ett skifte och fokusera mer på de digitala verktygen under den här tiden. Därför valde gruppen att fördjupa sig i hur företag på Instagram arbetar med sitt innehåll för att skapa engagemang. Frågorna som besvarades togs fram med syftet att skapa en uppfattning kring vilken av de tre framtagna inläggs kategorierna som skapar högst engagemang, rationella inlägg, interaktionella inlägg eller transaktionella inlägg. Samt hur innehållet på Instagram kan förändras beroende på om det fysiska mötet är begränsat eller ej.En kvalitativ fallstudie på Liseberg genomfördes i form av dokumentanalys på företagets Instagramkonto. Resultatet kopplades därefter samman med den tidigare forskningen inom engagemang, digital marknadsföring, sociala medier marknadsföringsstrategi och Social Exchange Theory. Studien är avgränsad till att endast mäta engagemang baserat på gilla-markeringar och kommentarer. Vikten av att ett företag behöver engagemang för att vara konkurrenskraftiga klarläggs samt relevans att företag finns på sociala medier. Resultatet visade att de transaktionella inläggen hade betydligt högst engagemang, men även att de interaktionella inläggen skapade högt engagemang. Förslagsvis borde företag under perioderna de har nedstängt fokusera just på dessa två kategorier som uppmanar till att skapa engagemang i form av gilla-markeringar och kommentarer. Studien visade också hur Liseberg anpassade mängden samt innehållet av deras inlägg under de olika perioderna för att hålla sig aktuella med vad besökarna efterfrågade. Studien är skriven på svenska. / Covid-19 pandemic created a lot of limitations for companies when it came to the physical meeting. The problem that occurred when companies no longer were able to offer their product in reality created an interest in this study. Many companies had to make a shift and focus more on digital tools during this time. Therefore, this group chose to dive into how a company on Instagram works with their content to create engagement. The questions that were answered were developed with the aim of creating knowledge about which of the three developed post categories create the highest engagement, rational posts, interactional posts or transactional posts. As well as how the content on Instagram may change depending on whether the physical meeting is limited or not.A qualitative case study on the amusement park Liseberg was carried out in the form of document analysis on @Lisebergab Instagram. The result was then connected with the previous research on engagement, digital marketing, social media marketing strategy and the Social Exchange Theory. The study is limited to only measuring engagement based on likes and comments. The importance of companies needing engagement to be competitive is clarified, as well as the relevance of companies being on social media. The transactional posts received the highest engagement, but it was also shown that it is not financially sustainable to focus on this too much.The results showed that transactional posts had the highest engagement, but also that interactive posts created high engagement. It is suggested that companies during periods of shutdown should focus on these two categories that encourage engagement in the form of likes and comments. This study also showed how Liseberg adapted the amount and content of their posts during different periods to stay current with what visitors demanded from the company. The overall purpose of this essay, “‘I really hope you guys are enjoying this. Thank you so much for watching!’ - a qualitative and quantitative study of the interaction between YouTubers and their audience", is to study how YouTubers that play and comment video games interact with their audience, what kind of response these YouTubers receive and the interaction between viewers and fans in these YouTubers comment sections. This essay also studies if there is a difference between the response female and male YouTubers receive. The study is based on theories about fan culture, participation culture, collective intelligence, feminism and gender. A quantitative content analysis has been used to analyze 600 comments on six YouTube videos uploaded by six different YouTubers. The purpose of the quantitative analysis was to see what content of the comments most often occur as well as if the comment showed a positive, negative or neutral view of the YouTuber. The result of the quantitative analysis was used as a base for a qualitative critical discourse analysis, which also studied how the YouTubers behaved in the videos. The results of this study showed that the YouTubers mostly received positive comments about their personalities and their YouTube channel. They mostly received negative comments about the way they play the game. The female YouTubers received more negative comments than the male YouTubers, who in turn received more positive comments. The study also showed that YouTubers interact by talking directly to the audience and looking into the camera, by using the word “we” when talking about how they play the game as if they are playing with the audience, by asking the audience questions and by answering comments that the YouTubers have received. The YouTubers engage their audience by using strong expressions and by playing the game during a livestream. The YouTubers’ fans engage and interact by showing appreciation of the YouTubers and defend the YouTubers when they receive negative comments in the comment section of their videos. These ways which YouTubers interact with and engage their audience can be seen as part of a discourse about interaction and engagement online.
