Johansson, Elin January 2010 (has links)

Téma labyrintu v současné angloamerické fantastické literatuře pro mládež / The Theme of a Labyrinth in the Contemporary Anglo-American Fantasy for Young Readers

ŠTĚRBÍK, Matěj January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the literary analysis of the theme of a labyrinth which appears in Anglo-American fantasy book series for young readers. The work is divided into two main parts. In the first, theoretical part, the author describes the main features of fantasy literature. The author also focuses on the assessment of the theme of a labyrinth in a wider literary-theoretical and historical context (mythology, Middle Ages literature, gothic novel, Romanticism, Modernism, Postmodernism). The second, practical part of the work, is represented by the author's literary analysis of the theme of a labyrinth appearing in these fantasy book series for young readers: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Percy Jackson, A Series of Unfortunate Events and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. The analysis mainly concentrates on the motifs of the monster, the experience of getting lost, fight and hideout.

Citlivost tetry jeskynní (Astyanax mexicanus) k magnetickému poli / Sensitivity to magnetic field in Mexican Cavefish

JANDA, Patrik January 2018 (has links)
This thesis deals with the detection of magnetic field perception of cavefishes the Mexican tetra (Astyanax mexicanus). The experiments were carried out in a plus-shaped maze where the direction preference in the individual arms of this maze was studied both in the natural Earth´s magnetic field and in the modified one by using magnets and turning the north-south axis by 90°. The reactions of the specimen on placing a strong magnet close behind the end of the western and later also the eastern arm of the plus-shaped maze were also monitored. It was conclusively found that the Mexican tetra prefer north-south axis. However, after turning the magnetic field by 90° there was no preference of the specimen for the new north-south axis as we expected. Although some of the tests performed here show the perceptiveness of magnetic field of the Mexican tetra and their preference for the noth-south axis, other tests disprove the formulated hypothesis. That is why other new hypotheses about the perceptiveness of the magnetic field should be created so that they could not be disproved in either case. This thesis has served as a stepping stone for further research in the field of magnetoreception of cavefishes.

Förskolan Lilla Labyrinten / Pre School Lilla Labyrinten

Nilsson, Helena January 2016 (has links)
The concept for the new preschool in Solna is based on the ”Curriculum for preschool” and the importance of child’s play when it comes to development and learning. The building of 1-4 floors is designed in different cube-shaped volumes that stand out in different ways to bring in as much daylight as possible. In the courtyard and roof terraces the same concept is clearly recognized by the cube-shaped play equipment and pergolas. Playfulness characterizes the entire preschool where children are the main characters.

LABYRINT / LABYRINTH

Schiffnederová, Markéta January 2017 (has links)
In the past, my work was focused on transferring the flat visual element into the space. I turn away from this concept, because as my Master's thesis I chose a Labyrinth. A labyrinth is not primary flat visual element. My final work is free artistic interpretation of this theme. My work based on classical craftsmanship techniques, which I am using in the new way in my work. I understood this theme labyrinth as an something very personal and individual. Because of this, I decide to create sculpture which will fit in to the gallery space and also the space of everyday life. My expression of the Labyrinth has cube shape. The entire sculpture is stitched inside, this stitch create the inside space. In one way this inner space is open and we are free to look inside, in the other hand center of the sculpture is hidden. I want to express a feeling of secrecy, and create tension between outside and inside space of the sculpture.

Att spela eller inte spela

Lundgren, Alexandra, Gustavsson, Nicole January 2016 (has links)
Däremot direktciteras andra aktörer i varje artikel. / The focus of this essay is on two Swedish hiphop bands – Labyrint and Kartellen, and how they are represented in ten different articles in connection to cancelled concerts. The purpose of this study is to, by the use of text analysis; understand how newspapers’ portrayal of musicians can lead to different interpretations depending on the choice of words and who gets to be heard. We have used two main questions in order to find out the results of our study: How are the bands portrayed through the narrative storytelling? and how can the narrative storytelling be interpreted? We have used the hermeneutic paradigm and the postmodern perspective as a frame for our study – that there is more than one truth. We are using three different concepts to lift this analysis to a macro level; representation, moral panics and power. The reasons why we are using them, is to understand, explain and form an opinion of the material that emerges from our study. There are patterns shown in our analysis regarding the two bands. The bands are mentioned in all the articles, but they are only directly quoted in just under a third of the articles. Meanwhile, other participants get directly quoted in every article. We can even see that the writer has constructed the articles like a drama, where the news value in big part is being played between the different participants. The reporter plays a big part of this power struggle. Through the narrative the journalist do not only have the power to benefit or disfavour the participants, but also affect the reader by steering him or her in a wanted direction.

Att vandra i Daedalus hus : En analys av katabasis-motivet i Mark Z. Danielewskis House of Leaves / Wandering in the house of Caedalus : An analysis of the katabasis-motif in Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves

Björnlund, Stefan January 2019 (has links)
Walking in the house of Daedalus – An analysis of the katabasis motif in Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves   This study analyses the depiction of the labyrinth as a symbolic landscape in regard to both subject and form in the multi-layered novel House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Using the mythological katabasis motif as a structural principle, this study discusses modern labyrinthine narratives wherein selfhood is constructed through an infernal journey between a descent and a return. This study analyses the novel with a thematic perspective from two points of view; how the labyrinth acts as central motif for the self in the novel and how the novel visually depicts the narrative through typographical choices throughout the text. The study’s main question is how the novel depicts the labyrinth in regard to its historical and cultural context and how it inscribes itself into a tradition of narratives that depicts the labyrinth as a metaphor for the mind and as a symbol for the exploration of the self.   The result shows that House of Leaves uses a complex cluster of narratives to tell a katabatic story, both through the narrative and the form. Through the symbolic landscape and through the use of a genre typical and uncanny horror story, House of Leaves tells a story about alienation, guilt and love where the characters psychological developments changes in regard to confrontations with the labyrinth and through the symbolical tests that exists throughout the katabatic journey. The characters ascends traumatized from the labyrinth, but are at the same time rewarded with personal insight
