Att designa en logotyp utifrån kärnvärden - En studie i hur hantverksföretag visuellt kan stärka sin varumärkesidentitet / How to create a logotype based on core values - A study of how craft companies can visually strengthen their brand identitySjöö, Emma, Svedin, Emil January 2017 (has links)

Information, knowledge and learning : is the Web effective as a medium for Mathematics teaching?Carr, Benjamin Alan 08 April 2003 (has links)
This document is a report on an experiment in which mathematical skills were taught to first year university students using the Web as a method of instructional delivery. Special attention was paid to the ability of students from disadvantaged backgrounds to cope with this method of delivery. Overall, the results obtained by students using this method were slightly better than that of students on the equivalent paper-based course. However, students from disadvantaged backgrounds fared marginally worse than those on the paper-based course. The results of these students allow extrapolation to a broader context where Web-based teaching of disadvantaged communities may be used. Definitions for knowledge, information, learning and teaching were developed. These definitions were then used as the foundation for creating the Web pages used in the experiment. / Dissertation (DPhil (Information Science))--University of Pretoria, 2004. / Information Science / unrestricted

Creating Sustainability Through Corporate BrandingRitz, Hayley Lynn 01 January 2007 (has links)
This thesis provides a thorough definition of corporate branding, including its benefits when used as a strategic marketing tool. There are many who believe that the logo of a corporation is its brand. However, the logo is only one interpretation of the brand. The brand is the corporation's ethos. It is the fundamental character or spirit of the corporation. It is an expression of who the corporation is. It is the essence that links the corporation's product or service with its consumer through loyalty and emotional attachments. Corporations use various processes and methodologies when they begin to create and enhance their corporate brand. Corporations must define their corporate personality, build recognition, standardize, and fulfill brand promises. There are also obstacles and challenges that corporations face in their endeavor to implement a branding guideline, and the chance of overcoming them without defined leadership is unrealistic. This study focuses specifically on existing literature about corporate branding and cites case study examples to show what makes the best brands successful and where failing brands could have been more successful. The study concludes by providing insight into the future for corporate branding and offering suggestions for technical communication professionals who find themselves a part of the brand building and defining process. There are various rules to branding and traits that are common to every top brand in the world. By instilling its brand with such traits, and following certain processes with focus, passion, and persistence, and most of all a long-term commitment to the brand, a corporation will find its brand among the most recognized brands in the world.

Brand Recognition in Online Display Advertising : An Exploratory Study Based on Logo Detection / Identifiering av Varumärken inom OnlineannonseringMorin, Clément January 2021 (has links)
While the problem of automatic brand detection has already been studied for in-the-wild image inputs, its resolution in the context of online display advertising remains unexplored. Following the existing works that have successfully applied logo detection techniques to photographs of the real world, this thesis builds upon modern object detection models to perform brand-agnostic logo detection in images of online advertisements. Inference with the resulting convolutional neural network allows the development of image-based brand recognition pipelines that scale to a large number of identifiable brands. Furthermore, to train and evaluate such a network, a logo detection dataset composed of captures of online advertisements is created. Each sample image is annotated with bounding boxes and brand labels. Finally, with the aim of introducing a different approach to the problem, we also design and analyze the performance of a brand detection algorithm based on the extraction and filtering of domain names from the HTML code underlying online advertisements.

SOCIAL INFLUENCE IN COLLECTIVE GOALS AND BRAND PREFERENCESKim, Yaeeun, 0000-0003-1827-9620 January 2020 (has links)
This three-essay dissertation extends previous research on social influence and examines social influence’s impact on consumption, particularly in the contexts of collective goals and brand preferences. Essay 1 focuses on collective marketing campaigns, which are not shared equally by all customers. Two studies demonstrate that the framing of collective progress in such campaigns can broaden participation by highlighting the large area of progress toward the goal, emphasizing progress achieved for campaigns in their late stages and progress remaining in their early stages. Essay 2 examines the effects of brand age on consumer preferences and choices. Six studies demonstrate that consumers’ preferences for younger brands increase with perceptions of product category innovativeness or the extent to which the product category is perceived to have evolved and is likely to evolve in the future. Findings reveal that younger (vs. established) brands are likely to be preferred when perceptions of product category innovativeness are high (vs. low). Essay 3 examines the effects of perceptions of product category innovativeness and consumer traits, such as novelty seeking and need for uniqueness, on consumers’ preference for young versus established brands. This dissertation provides theoretical and managerial contributions. / Business Administration/Marketing
