151	TEMATIK OCH MYTBILDNING I VIKTOR PELEVINS GENERATION ”П” OCH EMPIRE V Lewander, Gustaf January 2018 (has links) This thesis offers a thematic analysis of Victor Pelevin’s Generation ”П” and Empire V. The objective is to determine which themes can be regarded as central when the novels are compared to one another, and how these themes function in the two novels. This analysis shows that in Generation ”П” and Empire V, Pelevin constructs two overarching, parallel myths – the myth of Babylon and the myth of the Word, building a narrative that is solidly anchored in contemporary discourse. The study concludes that these myths are not built to serve as narrative explanations of, or answers to, the issues explored in the novels. Instead, the myths serve as vehicles for an open-ended, exploratory process, which might never be finally concluded. In contrast to previous research, this study contends that the construction of these myths may be the novels’ primary purpose and that through these myths the novels present the reader with a fictional framework, through which to regard the real world. 152	Vliv ne-luriánské kabaly na novověký východoevropský chasidismus / The Influence of Non-Lurianic Kabbalah on East-European Hasidism of Modern Age Šedivý, Antonín January 2015 (has links) The diploma thesis "The Influence of Non-Lurianic Kabbalah on East-European Hasidism of Modern Age" deals with the impact of non-Lurianic kabbalah on the origin and development of East-European Hasidism. The first chapter consists of short survey aimed on the academic research of Hasidism including the contribution of the most important figures in this particular field of research. The second chapter is focused on defining and demonstrating of Lurianic and non-Lurianic influences followed by illustrating of these influences on the example of few particular Jewish scholars. The third chapter includes the translation of chosen texts related to the topic of previous chapter, and their commentary. The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce the complex topic of the sources forming Hasidism and to show their diversity.
153	Poslové světla: Andělská spiritualita v českém kontextu / Messengers of the Light: Angelic Spirituality in Czech Context Tesárek, Jan January 2019 (has links) This thesis addresses non-traditional angelic spirituality experienced outside of traditional churches. This spirituality is specific for its everyday communication and contact with angelic beings. The present research examines contemporary angelic spirituality using a lens of relational ontology and semiotic analysis, focusing on how recurrent communication acts allow the emergence of specific subjectivities and identifies the main processes behind this phenomenon - recognition, interpretation and reaction. Research documents specific techniques allowing the formation of angelic subjectivities and redefinition of human subjectivities; prayer, reading cards, guided meditation, different types of clairvoyance and interpretation of signs. Deliberately using these techniques leads to re/definition of subjectivity of a practitioner (through clairvoyant insights into the past lives) and transforms him into human/incarnated soul. These communication acts further form a subjectivity of deceased souls, with which practitioners of angelic spirituality are often in contact, together with the subjectivity of dark beings, which cannot interact with a person without invitation it first and a subjectivity of angelic beings, which are defined by their unconditional support of their charges. 154	Astrological implications in the 'Lot oracle' PGM 50 Gieseler Greenbaum, Dorian, Naether, Franziska 30 July 2018 (has links) In previous editions of the magical papyri, PGM 50 has been considered as a lot oracle. In this article we propose a reinterpretation of the text as a source for astrology rather than for lot oracles. This reinterpretation is based on PGM 50’s astrological vocabulary. We provide a new translation based on this evidence. We further discover parallels to the second-century C.E. astrologer Vettius Valens in the verso of the text, which emend the original text as given by Wessely and Preisendanz. / In früheren Editionen der magischen Papyri wurde PGM 50 als Losorakel angesehen. In diesem Artikel argumentieren wir jedoch, den Text eher als einen Vertreter der Astrologie denn als ein Losorakel aufzufassen. Diese Neuinterpretation beruht auf dem astrologischen Fachvokabular, das in PGM 50 Anwendung fi ndet. Neben einer Neuübersetzung, basierend auf diesen Erkenntnissen, war es möglich, auf dem Verso des Pergaments Parallelen zum Werk von Vettius Valens (2. Jh. n. Chr.) zu identifi zieren. It points out the main sources of their magical and religious teachings and the origin of magic and magical thinking. It traces the main roots of both religion and magic and describes the development of magical practices in that specifical period of the time. Furthermore, after a small analysis, a comparison is made of the five basic cultures living in the territory of the "fertile crescent" just at the time of the Second Temple and their magic. There is also a detailed discussion on the field of demonology and some personalities of the time who were obviously dealing with magic and also how the magic circle of protection was blessed and magicaly activated. The aim is to contextualise the artist‟s oeuvre up to 2009 and to explore the visual metaphors in his art. Grobler has a fascination for stories. He blends tales of traditional Western mythology, African mythology, Christian religion, folklore and magical realism into narrative artworks. Through visual metaphors the artist comments on the everyday human dramas that surround him – be they political, social, psychological or cultural. 160	Statistical properties of the liquidity and its influence on the volatility prediction / Statistical properties of the liquidity and its influence on the volatility prediction Brandejs, David January 2016 (has links) This master thesis concentrates on the influence of liquidity measures on the prediction of volatility and given the magic triangle phenomena subsequently on the expected return. Liquidity measures Amihud Illiquidity, Amivest Liquidity and Roll adjusted for high frequency data have been utilized. Dataset used for the modeling was consisting of 98 shares that were traded on S&P 100. The time range was from 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2014. We have found out that the liquidity truly enters into the return-volatility relationship and influences these variables - the magic triangle interacts. However, contrary to our hypothesis, the model shows up that lower liquidity signifies lower realized risk. This inference has been suggested by all three models (3SLS, 2SLS and OLS). Furthermore, we have used the realized variance and bi-power variation to separate the jump. Our second hypothesis that lower liquidity signifies higher frequency of jumps was confirmed only for one of two liquidity proxies (Roll) included in the resulting logit FE model.
