The Numerical Simulations and Manufacturing Process Design of the Large Area and High Resolution Shadow Mask for OLED

Huang, Chin-yen 16 July 2007 (has links)
The conventional techniques of manufacturing large-size structures in a very large plate pose severe challenges in making microstructures. In contrast, semiconductor process that employs lithographic processes to form micro scale features is limited in its wafer size. In ordre to modify the defeat of shadow mask. This thesis propose to use TMAH anisotropic wet etching process and 2D- joining technique to fabricate silicon shadow mask. The potential of this technique would be significant for a very large plate beyond a wafer size with microstructures, and provides a new approach with a high replication and potentially low cost. In the numerical analysis, this study uses the finite element software, ANSYS, to simulate shadow mask with different size, material, and temperature displacement situation. The results shows the feasibility of silicon shadow mask used in the thermal evaporation process. It indicates that this design could have smoother pattern and reduce the limitation of Organic Light-Emitting Diode resolution.

Restoration for Images Blurred by Defocus Lens

Lai, Chien-Ming 25 August 2009 (has links)
In the imaging system, a blurred defocus image is a common problem. This is because different objects in the scene need different focus for imaging clearly. However, we can only have one focus distance in one picture. Therefore, the images of the other objects in different focus distance would be blurred by the faulty focuses. We apply wave front coding to solve the above defocus problem. Wave front coding is a technique that adds a phase mask in front of the lens, changing the image performance, and solving the problem of defocus. In this thesis, we used a new phase screen, computed accordingly its optical transfer function and then simulated the resulting images. We compared with other phase screens provided by other researchers for different defocus situations. From our results, our pupil and optical transfer function are slightly superior.

När hjärtat slutar slå - En kvalitativ intervjustudie om prehospital luftvägshantering vid hjärtstopp

Modin, Erik, Nadia, Ameur January 2019 (has links)
Background Airway management is of great importance to the resuscitation in patients with cardiac arrest. There are a lot of tools to alleviate this task, but there are several factors to consider in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, that doesn't exists within the hospital walls, that may influence the ambulance nurse method for managing the ventilation. Aim To study witch factors that influence the ambulance nurse choice of method to ventilate an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Methods A qualitative design was used with semi-structured interviews. Eight interviews were conducted with nursing specialists within intensive- and prehospital care. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyze the collected data. Results Data analysis resulted in four categories with associated under-categories. In the category Time distance to hospital had an effect on the choice of ventilation and fast ventilation was prioritized. The Patient was a category where the cause of the cardiac arrest, the patient anatomy and if the resuscitation was terminated on the spot or not was identified to have an impact on the method of airway management. The third category was Resources that influenced the airway approach was the amount of units on the scene and their competence and experience. The fourth category was ease-of-use where environment had an influence on airway management as well as the transportation of the patient. Conclusion Even though these factors often are a none-issue in the hospital it's vital to the ambulance nurse to be aware of these. Some factors can be alleviated by the agency with increased education and modern equipment but other factors are just something the ambulance nurse needs to be aware of and able to handle.

Development of PIAA Complex Mask Coronagraphs for large aperture ground-based telescopes

Newman, Kevin, Sirbu, Dan, Belikov, Ruslan, Guyon, Olivier 22 July 2016 (has links)
The Phase Induced Amplitude Apodization Complex Mask Coronagraph (PIAACMC) is an architecture for directly observing extrasolar planets, and can achieve performance near the theoretical limits for any direct-detection instrument. The PIAACMC architecture includes aspheric PIAA optics, and a complex phase-shifting focal plane mask that provides a pi phase shift to a portion of the on-axis starlight. The phase-shifted starlight is forced to interfere destructively with the un-shifted starlight, causing the starlight to be eliminated, and allowing a region for high-contrast imaging near the star. The PIAACMC architecture can be designed for segmented and obscured apertures, so it is particularly well suited for ground-based observing with the next generation of large telescopes. There will be unique scientific opportunities for directly observing Earth-like planets around nearby low-mass stars. We will discuss design strategies for adapting PIAACMC for the next generation of large ground-based telescopes, and present progress on the development of the focal plane mask technology. We also present simulations of wavefront control with PIAACMC, and suggest directions to apply the coronagraph architecture to future telescopes.

Criador e criatura : a invenção de uma persona-objeto

Kulczynski, Natasha Ulbrich January 2018 (has links)
Creator and Creature: the invention of a persona-object deals with the creation of a persona, having as its objective to introduce a poetic possibility in photography and video. It takes as reference the concept of the analytical third in psychoanalysis, introducing the “persona tool” and its resulting works, as well as discusses the poetic contributions and unfoldings brought by such mediums to its creation, permeated by the concepts of mask brought up by Hans Belting (2017) and Paulo Sergio Faitanin (2006).

Geology of the Nicola Group in the vicinity of the Iron Mask batholith, Kamloops, British Columbia

White, Shawna 06 1900 (has links)
Two regional scale deformation events are observed in the Kamloops region. A Late Triassic-Early Jurassic southwest directed compressional event and a later Tertiary extensional deformation episode, manifested in the uplift of the Nicola horst. The Nicola horst is bounded to the northeast by the Cherry Creek Tectonic Zone, a northwest striking fault zone that separates schistose footwall rocks of the Nicola horst from relatively undeformed Nicola Group rocks in the hanging wall. The fault is interpreted to have accommodated multiple episodes of movement associated with both compressional and extensional tectonics. A pervasive metamorphic fabric, exposed in the horst and cross-cut by the 144.8 5.9 Ma LeJeune granodiorite, is interpreted to represent a broad, Middle Jurassic shear zone, formed by east-directed translation of the Nicola arc during contractional tectonics inboard of an east dipping subduction zone. Variations in orientation of the fabric suggest subsequent east-directed compression during post-Jurassic, pre-Eocene deformation.

<i>An o without a figure</i> : King Lear and the mask of the fool

Traub, Miranda Jane 04 October 2004
In the topical abundance or superabundance of Shakespeares King Lear, almost all major thematic patterns, images, and symbols are linked to Lears enigmatic companion, the Fool. The Fool surpasses Shakespeares other fools when he is given a major role, yet he is more than a major figure: he is the pivot for action and interpretation. The presence and the importance of the Fool are emphasized further when almost half of Lears characters are referred to as fools. The stark, barren hinterland of Lear is shot through by the conspicuously forceful presence of folly. The fools propensity for misrule coupled with his centrality to the text results in a dramatic structure that itself breaks the rules. King Lear is the most generically puzzling play in Shakespeares corpus. Lear, a tragedy, draws upon comedy, history, romantic comedy, romance, and morality in indefinable and unparalleled ways. Just as form is juxtaposed in Lear, religious systems or identities are also contrasted. Pagan, Christian, existential, nihilistic, and moralistic interpretations are readily discernable. The fool, a potential nexus for structural questions, may also be at the heart of the question of spiritual identity. To locate the fool at the source of both structural and spiritual problems, and to discern why the fool factors so prominently especially in a play viewed as Shakespeares darkest, are the two endeavours of this thesis.
