Predictive Relationships Between Electronic Health Records Attributes and Meaningful Use Objectives

Koppoe, Solomon Nii 01 January 2018 (has links)
The use of electronic health records (EHR) has the potential to improve relationships between physicians and patients and significantly improve care delivery. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between hospital attributes and EHR implementation. The research design for this study was the cross-sectional approach. Secondary data from the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Analytics Database was utilized (n = 169) in a correlational crosssectional research design. Normalization Process Theory (NPT) and implementation theory were the theoretical underpinnings used in this study. Multiple linear regressions results showed statistically significant relationships between the 4 independent variables (region, ownership status, number of staffed beds [size], and organizational control) and the outcomes for the dependent variables of EHR software application attributes (Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) components), EHR software application attributes (major systems), and successful implementation of Meaningful Use (MU) (p = .001). A statistically significant relationship (p = .001) was also found between the 2 independent variables (EHR software application attributes [CDSS components] and EHR software application attributes [major systems]) and the outcome of successful implementation of MU when combined. This evidence should provide policy makers and health practitioners support for their attempts to implement EHR systems to result in positive Meaningful Use which has been shown to be more cost effective and result in better quality of care for patients. The potential social change is improved medication prescribing and administration for hospitals and, lower cost and better quality of care for patients.

La propriété de normalisation pour des calculs logiques symétriques

Battyanyi, Peter 12 December 2007 (has links) (PDF)

Co-operative recombination mechanisms promoting gene clustering and lateral transfer of antibacterial drug resistance

Kamali-Moghaddam, Masood January 2001 (has links)
<p>Transposons of the Mu superfamily are widespread and have been shown to play an important role in the dissemination of antibiotic resistance among microorganisms. One of these elements, Tn<i>5090</i>/Tn<i>402</i> is the basal vehicle of the type 1 integrons in which mobile resistance gene cassettes are inserted to form clusters and operons. The transposon was shown to preferentially target recombination sites of the serine family of recombinases that occur in many plasmids and transposons. Mutation analysis revealed that DNA-binding of the targeting factor, a serine recombinase, is essential for efficient transposition, while the recombination activity is not required. Truncated elements were frequently observed and in one instance borne on a composite transposon flanked by IS<i>6100</i>. This new transposon, Tn<i>5089</i>, has allowed the translocation of the integron to small mobilizable IncQ-plasmids that lack the targeting factor and thus are incompetent for insertion of Tn<i>5090</i>/Tn<i>402</i>. Another small replicon, by contrast targeting-positive, was completely sequenced.</p><p>The transposon Tn<i>5090</i>/Tn<i>402 </i>carries arrayed transposase-binding sites at the ends, which are supposed to arrange the transposase TniA in the appropriate geometry in a recombinationally active complex with DNA. / The purpose of this essay is to examine which rhetoric devices are being put in use to make possible the process of identification between the reader and the main character Mamma Moo. The essay uses theories of narrative and identification represented by Jerome Bruner, Kenneth Burke, and Maria Nikolajeva. Because there is no previous research in the essays area, I have brought forward a new model to analyse the material. It is used to  discover identification signs, based on the categories outer, inner, and activities. The conclusion is that the book utilizes antitheses to separate Mamma Moo from her original form and the other cows; imitatio to make it possible for the children to recognize themselves in Mamma Moos behaviour; topos to show that Mamma Moo has the same interests as the reader; repetition to continuously confirm that Mamma Moo is a child; entymem to make the reader come to the conclusion that Mamma Moo is a child.

Linear Precoding Performance of Massive MU-MIMO downlink System

Pakdeejit, Eakkamol January 2013 (has links)
Nowadays, multiuser Multiple-In Multiple-Out systems (MU-MIMO) are used in a new generation wireless technologies. Due to that wireless technology improvement is ongoing, the numbers of users and applications increase rapidly. Then, wireless communications need the high data rate and link reliability at the same time. Therefore, MU-MIMO improvements have to consider 1) providing the high data rate and link reliability, 2) support all users in the same time and frequency resource, and 3) using low power consumption. In practice, the interuser interference has a strong impact when more users access to the wireless link. Complicated transmission techniques such as interference cancellation should be used to maintain a given desired quality of service. Due to these problems, MU-MIMO with very large antenna arrays (known as massive MIMO) are proposed. With a massive MU-MIMO system, we mean a hundred of antennas or more serving tens of users. The channel vectors are nearly orthogonal, and then the interuser interference is reduced significantly. Therefore, the users can be served with high data rate simultaneously. In this thesis, we focus on the performance of the massive MU-MIMO downlink where the base station uses linear precoding techniques to serve many users over Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading channels.

A Study On Values, Problems And Potentials Of The Traditional Dwellings In Karabaglar-mugla

Timur, Baris Ali 01 March 2012 (has links) (PDF)
Karabaglar district of Mugla, which was registered as a conservation site in 1977, is a low density traditional settlement which has had a family scale agricultural production background. Most of the families, living in the town center, used to migrate to their houses and their farms in that fertile district from the spring till the autumn in order to prepare their needs of foods for the winters as the production of family scale agriculture and animal husbandry. Today the district is located next to Mugla University campus in K&ouml / tekli district in the south and neighbors the axis relating university to the city center in the west. The land values in Karabaglar are very high because the area has always been a prestige zone for the citizens of Mugla because of its cultural and traditional background and the natural beauty. Unfortunately these characteristics lead either to rapid and unconscious restoration interventions or to the total abandoning of the traditional buildings to collapse in order to use the land in future. Therefore / Karabaglar is in danger of losing its traditional, urban, architectural and natural characteristics. This study seeks to fulfill the already made urban-scaled conservation studies with the architectural-scaled data. It aims to determine the values, problems and potentials of the traditional dwellings in Karabaglar-Mugla.

Voltage-mode controlled synchronous DC-DC buck converter using 0.13[mu] CMOS switches

Wolfe, Brandon Ward 27 February 2012 (has links)
This report is a study of the effects of a commercial 0.13[mu] process and automotive temperature corners on a synchronous DC-DC buck converter design. The basics of switching converters will be explored with an emphasis on voltage-mode controlled feedback. A Type-III compensation network is designed using transfer function analysis to compensate for the inherent double pole introduced by an LC network. The output of the compensation network will drive a pulse width modulation comparator to vary the duty cycle of the high-side PMOS and low-side NMOS transistor switches. After the synchronous buck converter design was complete, the effect of process and temperature on efficiency, output voltage ripple, inductor peak to peak current, and output voltage load response was examined. / text
