Esta tese analisa as representações sobre o Brasil e a França enquanto modelos de fraternidades raciais nas páginas do jornal Chicago Defender entre 1916 e 1940. Este periódico emergiu no entre guerras como a principal referência da imprensa afroamericana. Nesta pesquisa, demonstramos o engajamento do Chicago Defender na luta pela integração dos negros nos Estados Unidos, difundindo entusiasmadamente imagens de um novo negro alinhado à modernidade. Após uma onda de violência racial que varreu o território norte-americano em 1919, o Chicago Defender passou a investir na publicação de artigos e notícias sobre o Brasil e a França, identificando nos dois países exemplos de ordens sociais livres de práticas racistas e referências de mobilidade social que possibilitariam a ascensão de um novo negro. / This thesis analyzes the representations of Brazil and France as models of racial fraternities on the pages of Chicago Defender between 1916 and 1940. This periodical emerged in the interwar scenario as a standard for the Black Press. In this research, we will demonstrate how Chicago Defender engaged in a struggle for black inclusion, diffusing enthusiastically the images of a new Negro connected to the American modernity. After a wave of racial violence that swept the American territory in 1919, the Chicago Defender increased the number of articles and news regarding Brazil and France, claiming both countries as examples of social orders free from racist practices and references for social mobility in which a new Negro would rise.

Obtivemos famílias de soluções estáticas e esfericamente simétricas para buracos negros numa brana com vácuo, constante cosmológica não nula e imersa num bulk 5-dimensional assintoticamente anti-de Sitter. Para o caso das geometrias assintoticamente de Sitter, o único membro da família obtida foi a geometria Schwarzschild-de Sitter extrema. Para o caso de geometrias assintoticamente anti-de Sitter, obtivemos toda uma família de soluções, onde cada elemento desta família é determinado por uma constante C. Estudamos o comportamento destas soluções próximo e longe do horizonte de eventos. A seguir, analisamos a evolução de um campo escalar não massivo no exterior dos buracos negros obtidos. Verificamos analiticamente e numericamente o comportamento do potencial efetivo em função da coordenada tartaruga próximo ao horizonte de eventos. Para qualquer geometria ou solução desta família observamos que o campo escalar não massivo decai com o tempo, e o tipo de decaimento depende do valor da constante C. Assim, toda a família de soluções obtida mostrou-se estável. / We found classes of static and spherically symmetric black hole solutions on the brane for a vacuum configuration, non-null cosmological constant, embedded into a 5-dimensional asymptotically anti-de Sitter bulk. In the asymptotically de Sitter case, the only solution obtained was the extreme Schwarzschild-de Sitter geometry. In the asymptotically anti-de Sitter case, a class of solutions was obtained where a particular geometry is fixed by a constant, C. We studied the behaviour of these solutions near and far from the horizon. Next, we studied the time evolution of a scalar field outside the black hole. For the effective potential as function of tortoise coordinate, the analytical results near the horizon agree with numerical calculations. The scalar field decays with time and the particular form of decay depends of the value for C. Thus, all solutions in the obtained class are stable.

Esta tese visa realizar um estudo acerca das freqüências quasinormais das p-branas negras utilizando um campo escalar de teste. No contexto da correspondência AdS/CFT estudamos alguns aspectos da formação de estados supercondutores na teoria de campos definida na borda do espaço-tempo de Gauss-Bonnet AdS d-dimensional. Apresentamos a derivação das soluções das p-branas negras, bem como a análise de sua estrutura causal. Revisamos o regime perturbativo da Relatividade Geral e a interpretação dos modos quasinormais de um buraco negro em termos dos elementos que compõem a correspondência AdS/CFT. Estudamos a evolução de um campo escalar sem massa na geometria das p-branas negras em detalhe, sendo que utilizamos o método semianalítico WKB e a integração característica (Problema de Goursat) para calcular as freqüências quasinormais correspondentes. Por fim, apresentamos uma expressão aproximada de um estado supercondutor na teoria de campos definida na borda do buraco negro de Gauss-Bonnet AdS através do dicionário AdS/CFT. / This thesis aims at studying the quasinormal frequencies of black p-branes using a scalar field in the probe limit. In the context of AdS/CFT correspondence we study some aspects regarding the formation of superconductor states in the field theory set on the AdS boundary of the Gauss-Bonnet AdS spacetime. We present the derivation of black p-brane solutions, as well as the analysis of its causal structure. We review the perturbative regime of General Relativity and the interpretation of the black hole quasinormal modes in terms of the correspondence AdS/CFT. We study the evolution of a massless scalar field in the geometry of black p-branes in detail, and we use the WKB method and the characteristic integration (Goursats problem) in order to calculate the corresponding quasinormal frequencies. Ultimately, we present an approximate expression for a superconductor state in the field theory defined in the AdS boundary of Gauss-Bonnet AdS spacetime.

O presente estudo tem por objeto a análise dos papéis do Direito nas políticas públicas para o desenvolvimento, por intermédio do estudo de caso do Programa Brasil Quilombola, criado pelo governo federal brasileiro em 2004. Para tal, no primeiro capítulo denominado Direitos, Desenvolvimento e Políticas Públicas apresento os principais pressupostos teóricos e modelos de análise que serão utilizados por mim ao longo do trabalho, com foco no estudo do conjunto de pressupostos e modelos de análise comuns a corrente teórica denominada neoinstitucionalismo, a partir do entendimento de que essa corrente oferece um ponto-de-vista privilegiado para observação do Estado e suas instituições, em especial o Direito. Na segunda e na terceira seção desse capítulo analiso a interseção entre o Direito e a Política Pública, isto é, a maneira como ordenamento jurídico atua na conformação das políticas públicas e como o Direito pode contribuir ou não para a efetividade dessas políticas. No segundo capítulo denominado Subdesenvolvimento e Desigualdade: O caminho percorrido até a institucionalização de políticas públicas para as comunidades quilombolas, apresento os signos e estruturas das desigualdades presentes nessa comunidade. A estrutura fundiária inaugurada com a Lei de Terras, da falta de inclusão da população negra, em razão de uma abolição da escravatura inconclusa e de um processo de modernização do campo que reforçou as relações servis de trabalho, são elementos estruturantes para o entendimento da luta quilombola contemporânea. Na segunda seção do capítulo 2, apresento a emergência das lutas sociais empenhadas por essas comunidades negras rurais que culminaram no reconhecimento dos Direitos etnicorraciais e territoriais destas pela Constituição Federal de 1988 e na institucionalização das políticas públicas para esse público. No terceiro capítulo analiso o Programa Brasil Quilombola. Com este objetivo, apresento os principais contornos do programa, bem como analiso os aspectos críticos do funcionamento do mesmo. Por fim, faço sugestões sobre as contribuições do Direito para a efetividade da política em questão. / The purpose of this project is to study the law´s role in public policies for development, through the case study of the program Brasil Quilombola, which was created by the Brazilian federal government in 2004. To this end, in the first chapter entitled \"Rights, Development and Public Policies\", I present the main theoretical assumptions and analytic models that will be used throughout the work. The focus is to present the set of assumptions of the study and analytic models common to the current theory of neoinstitutionalism. This school of thought offers a privileged point of view for observing the state and its institutions, especially the law. In the second and third section of this chapter I analyze the intersection between law and public policy, that is, the way the legal system operates in shaping public policy and how the law can contribute or not to the effectiveness of these policies. In the second chapter entitled \"Underdevelopment and Inequality: The path to the institutionalization of public policies for the quilombolas\", I present the structure of this inequality within this community. The land structure inaugurated with the law Lei de Terras, the lack of inclusion of the black population due to an abolition of slavery inconclusive and the modernization process in rural areas which strengthened the relationship of servitude are key elements for understanding the contemporary struggle of the Quilombola. In the second section of Chapter 2, I present the emergence of social movements utilized by these rural black communities that culminated in the recognition of racial ethnicity and their territorial rights by the Federal Constitution of 1988 and the institutionalization of public policies to this group. In the third chapter, I analyze the program Brasil Quilombola. Here the main outlines of the program and analysis of its critical functioning aspects are presented. Finally, I make suggestions about the contributions of law for the effectiveness of this policy.

A presente pesquisa teve como objeto de investigação livros de literatura infantil que apresentam personagens protagonistas negros, presentes na biblioteca escolar de uma escola municipal de educação infantil (EMEI) da cidade de São Paulo, cujo acervo é composto por livros enviados pelo programa de compras da Prefeitura do Município de São Paulo e pelo Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola (PNBE). A pesquisa foi realizada em três etapas: (1) levantamento e análise das listagens e dos livros selecionados e enviados pelo PNBE às escolas brasileiras de educação infantil nos anos de 2008 e 2010; (2) levantamento e exame de todas as obras pertencentes ao acervo da EMEI; (3) leitura de cada uma destas obras e análise do grupo de livros com personagens negros. O aporte teórico utilizado diz respeito à literatura, à literatura infantil, a estudos referentes ao negro e a sua representação. Após análise das listagens e dos livros do PNBE, concluiu-se que (1) entre os anos de 2008 e 2010 este programa enviou às escolas de educação infantil quatro obras que apresentam personagens negros como protagonistas. No acervo da EMEI, dentre os 1500 livros de literatura infantil, foram encontradas 33 obras com protagonistas negros; (2) considerando a diminuta quantidade de obras com protagonistas negros encontradas durante esta pesquisa, concluiu-se que esses personagens estão sub-representados tanto no acervo da EMEI, como no programa PNBE (3) algumas obras do acervo apresentam estereótipos em relação ao personagem negro e alguns elementos implícitos e explícitos de preconceito. O estudo verificou também que diversos livros do acervo valorizam elementos da corporeidade e estética negra, além de aspectos e valores das culturas africanas e afro-brasileiras. Esta pesquisa pretende contribuir para reflexões a respeito de livros com personagens negros que compõem acervos de EMEIs, oferecendo elementos para um trabalho pedagógico com profissionais da educação e crianças que valorize a diversidade. / This research was the subject of investigation of children\'s literature books that feature main characters black, present in the school library a Municipal School of Early Childhood Education (EMEI, in portuguese) from São Paulo, whose collection consists of books sent by the procurement program of the City of São Paulo and the National School Library program (PNBE, in portuguese). The research was conducted in three stages: (1) survey and analysis of the listings and the books selected and sent to schools by PNBE Brazilian children\'s education in the years 2008 and 2010; (2) assessments and analysis of all the works belonging to the collection of EMEI; (3) read each of these works and group analysis of books whose characters were black. The theory used relates to literature, children\'s literature, the studies relating to black and its representation. After analysis of the listings and books PNBE, it was concluded that: (1) in the years 2008 and 2010 this program sent to preschools four books that feature black characters as protagonists, and, in the collection of EMEI, among the 1,500 books of children\'s literature, were found 33 works whose protagonists are black; (2) considering the tiny amount of work with black actors found during this study, it was concluded that these characters are underrepresented both in the collection of EMEI as the program PNBE; (3) some books from the collection have stereotypes about the black character and some elements involving implicit and explicit prejudice. The study also found that many books of the collection value elements of corporeality and black aesthetics, plus aspects and values of African cultures and african-Brazilian. This dissertation of masters aims to contribute to the discussions about books with black characters that are part of the collections of EMEIs offering elements for pedagogical work with children and education professionals that values diversity.

Esta pesquisa propõe um estudo sobre o fenômeno do racismo e da xenofobia na Europa através de levantamento bibliográfico, fontes diversas e, principalmente, histórias orais de vida de alguns futebolistas brasileiros negros que atuaram no continente europeu a partir da década de 1960. O conjunto de procedimentos adotados é o da história oral, mais especificamente aquele praticado pelo Núcleo de Estudos em História Oral da Universidade de São Paulo. Constituí documentos inéditos, em cujos textos estão expressas as experiências e as memórias da comunidade de destino. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi relacionar o problema da negritude no futebol em vista de um contexto social mais amplo, o qual tem como pano de fundo a globalização e as migrações internacionais. A tese está dividida em três partes. Na primeira, intitulada de História do projeto, introduzo a pesquisa, apresento os conceitos fundamentais, coloco o tema em perspectiva histórica, justifico a escolha pela história oral, exponho os procedimentos adotados e relato as minhas experiências de entrevista com personalidades futebolísticas. Na segunda, Histórias orais de vida, apresento cinco histórias de vida que abrangem as décadas de 1980 a 2000 e narram as experiências vividas pelos futebolistas nas principais ligas europeias e na vida social nos respectivos países. Na terceira e última parte, Memória coletiva seleciono temas recorrentes nas narrativas, os quais dizem respeito à própria trajetória de vida e profissional, ao movimento migratório e, por fim, ao racismo e à xenofobia. Há um jeito brasileiro de lidar com a questão? Esta é a pergunta que procuro responder nas considerações finais. / This research is a study of racism and xenophobia in the European society through literature review, various sources and, primarily, oral life stories from some black Brazilian footballers that played in the European continent from the 1960s onwards. The methodology used is oral history, more specificaly that which is practiced by the Centre for Studies in Oral History of the University of São Paulo (Núcleo de Estudos em História Oral da Universidade de São Paulo). I have composed unpublished documents in which experiences and memoirs of the destiny community are expressed. The researchs overall objective was to discuss the black footballers issue within a broader social context, having globalisation and international migration as background. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first one, entitled The projects history, I introduce the research, present the core concepts, put the theme in historical perspective, justify my choice for using oral history, explain the methodology and report on my experiences interviewing football personalities. In the second, Oral life stories, I present five life stories spanning from the 1980s to the 2000s and narrate the footballers experiences in the main European leagues and their social lives in their respective countries. In the third and last part, Collective memory, I pick up recurring themes in those narratives, which relate to the footballer\'s life and career, migration, racism and xenophobia. Is there a Brazilian way to deal with the issue? This is the question I try to answer in the final considerations.

Nesta dissertação são explorados efeitos clássicos e semi-clássicos em espaços-tempos quase-extremos. Na classe de geometrias tratadas aqui, uma região estática entre dois horizontes é considerada, de forma que estes horizontes estão muito próximos e as suas gravidades superficiais são muito pequenas. Este limite quase-extremo surge em vários contextos de interesse, envolvendo buracos negros assintoticamente de Sitter, buracos de minhoca e buracos negros em universos com seção espacial compacta. No trabalho desenvolvido, buracos de minhoca ligando duas regiões com horizontes cosmológicos são estudados em detalhes. Uma vez caracterizada, algumas das propriedades clássicas destas estruturas e efeitos semi-clássicos são explorados. O tratamento quântico proposto leva naturalmente a uma caracterização termodinâmica associada aos horizontes atrapantes presentes na geometria. Consideramos especificamente propriedades térmicas associadas a um campo escalar nos espaços-tempos de interesse. Uma revisão do formalismo de Hayward é feito, com a sua adaptação para espaços-tempos importantes. Buracos de minhoca no regime quase-extremo são discutidos em detalhes. / In this dissertation, classical and semi-classical effects in quasi-extreme spacetimes are explored. In the class of geometries treated here, a static region between two horizons is considered, in such a way that these horizons are very close and their surface gravities are very small. This quasi-extreme limit appears in several contexts of interest, such as asymptotically de Sitter black holes, wormholes and black holes in universes with compact spatial section. In the developed work, wormholes connecting two regions bounded by cosmological horizons are studied in detail. Once some of the classical properties of these structures are characterized, semi-classical effects are explored. The proposed quantum treatment naturally leads to a thermodynamic characterization associated to the trapping horizons present in the geometry. We specifically consider thermal properties associated to a scalar field in the spacetimes of interest. A review of Hayward\'s formalism is presented, with a proper adaptation to important space-times. Wormholes in the near extreme regime are discussed in detail.

Utilizando dados da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD), o trabalho investiga o comportamento e os determinantes dos diferenciais de rendimento do trabalho entre negros e brancos no Brasil, bem como as causas da mudança observada nesse diferencial, no período 1995-2013. Contatou-se que, embora a diferença remanescente seja substancial e inaceitável, houve nesse período uma redução do hiato de rendimento entre os dois grupos de cor. Os resultados da decomposição de Oaxaca-Blinder indicam que a diferença entre os níveis de escolaridade média e as desiguais distribuições geográfica e ocupacional dos dois grupos são os principais determinantes dos diferenciais de rendimento observados. No que diz respeito à mudança observada no hiato de rendimento entre 1995 e 2013, os resultados da decomposição de Smith-Welch apontam para a queda nas taxas de retorno à escolaridade e para as mudanças na distribuição regional da população negra ocupada como seus principais determinantes. / Using data from an annual household survey (PNAD), this study analyses the behavior and the determinants of black-white income gap in the Brazilian labor market, as well as the causes of the observed change in this gap, in the period 1995-2013. It was observed that, while the remaining income gap is substantial and unacceptable, during this period there was a reduction in this gap between the two groups of skin-color. By applying the Oaxaca-Blinder procedure it was identified that the difference between the average level of education and the unequal geographical and occupational distributions of the two groups are the main determinants of the observed income gap. The Smith-Welch procedure of dynamic decomposition shows that the main determinants of the reduction of the black-white income gap between 1995 and 2013 are the decline in the rates of return to education and the changes in the regional distribution of the black population.

O objetivo principal deste trabalho é estudar a interação dos buracos negros primordiais com as principais espécies físicas exóticas de matéria e energia que foram teorizadas para explicar as observações cosmológicas da última década. A interação com diferentes formas de energia escura a partir de campos escalares, como a energia phantom, e modelos de quartessência, como o gás de Chaplygin, associada a modelos já existentes de interação com espécies físicas mais bem conhecidas, fornece resultados importantes e sugere comportamentos inesperados na trajetória dos buracos negros primordiais desde a sua formação até os dias de hoje. Nossa análise abrange os aspectos dinâmicos e termodinâmicos da acreção e evaporação de buracos negros, explorando os limites de validade da teoria e estudando o comportamento sob as condições extremas que resultam desses novos modelos de matéria e energia. Finalmente, o estudo prossegue na direção de um modelo de evolução a partir diretamente das equações de campo, em um espaço-tempo totalmente dinâmico em que buscamos paralelos com as descrições provenientes das hipóteses simplificadoras sobre que nos baseamos durante os estágios anteriores. Os resultados permitem fazermos uma descrição unificada da evolução dos buracos negros, em que as relações entre todas as componentes são transparentes e suas contribuições individuais são facilmente identificadas. Associando-os à descrição termodinâmica, é possível traçar um quadro completo e abrangente do problema, capaz de acomodar novos modelos e prover uma compreensão profunda da interação dos buracos negros com o meio cosmológico. / We study the interaction between primordial black holes and the exotic dark matter and dark energy components which have been modeled to explain cosmological observations within the last decade. The interaction with different forms of scalar field dark energy, such as phantom energy, and quartessence models as the Chaplygin gas, together with the well-known interaction with the ordinary forms of matter and energy, provides important results and suggests unexpected behaviors on primordial black holes since their formation until the present time. Our analysis encompasses dynamical and thermodynamical aspects of black hole accretion and evaporation exploring the theory validity ranges and studying its behavior under the extreme conditions which arise from these new dark fluid models. Finally, our study progresses towards an evolution model based solely on the field equations, within a fully dynamical space-time in which we seek parallel descriptions with previous models, which use simplifying hypotheses. Our results provide a unified description of black hole evolution, in which the role of all components and their relation to each other are clear and easily identifiable. Along with the thermodynamical description, it is possible to make a comprehensive picture of the problem, capable of accommodating new models and furnish a deep understanding of black hole interaction with the cosmological environment.

O estudo da religião e da religiosidade é fundamental para a compreensão da formação da cultura brasileira suas práticas e representações. No aprofundamento da análise sobre a questão da construção de novas identidades pelos africanos e seus descendentes forjadas no contexto da escravidão na colônia portuguesa na América , as irmandades leigas de negros podem ser tomadas como espaços de devoção e sociabilidade. Portanto, a presente pesquisa teve como objeto de estudo as irmandades leigas de negros na cidade de São Paulo, durante a segunda metade do século XVIII e o século XIX. Partindo de aportes teóricometodológicos oferecidos pela história cultural, o estudo teve como objetivo apreender o cotidiano no interior destas associações e, a partir dele, o encontro das culturas africanas e européias que ali ocorreram, bem como compreender as alianças forjadas e os laços de solidariedade criados na intercessão dessas diversas relações sociais e culturais. Acredito que a análise das fontes e da bibliografia selecionada possibilitou compreender um pouco mais o universo social e cultural dos africanos e seus descendentes na cidade de São Paulo, bem como os códigos culturais compartilhados entre as culturas africanas e a européia, no decorrer dos séculos XVIII e XIX. / The study of the religiosity is fundamental to the understanding of the Brazilian culture constitution - its practices and representations. To a deeper analysis about the construction of new identities by the Africans and theirs descendents forged in the context of slavery in the American Portuguese colony the lay brotherhoods of blacks can be taken as spaces of devotion and sociability. With that in mind,. this research had as object the Black lay brotherhoods in the city of Sao Paulo during the second half of the XVIIIth century and the XIXth century, and as a theoretical departure the principles of the cultural history. In that way, the study aim to apprehend the daily life of these associations, the encounter of African and European cultures present in it, and the partnerships and the links of solidarity created by t he intercession of the many cultural and social relations that happened there. l believe that the analysis of the documentation and of the selected bibliography took to a better understanding of the cultural and social world of Africans and their descendents living in the city of São Paulo, as well as the cultural codes shared by Brazilian and European cultures through XVIIth and XlXth centuries.
