Att dela eller icke dela : Facebooks påverkan på kollegors relationer / To share or not to share : Facebook’s impact on co-worker relationships.

Isaksson, Beatrice, Nyman, Zanna January 2016 (has links)
AUTHORS: Beatrice Isaksson and Zanna Nyman TITLE: To share or not to share – Facebook’s impact on co-worker relationships. SWEDISH TITLE: Att dela eller icke dela – Facebooks påverkan på kollegors relationer LEVEL: BA Thesis in Media and Communication Science LANGUAGE: Swedish NUMBER OF PAGES: 64 PURPOSE: This study will aim to contribute to the improvement of knowledge in the field of media and communication science, related to how Facebook affects co-worker relationships in Swedish organisations. METHODOLOGY: This study will use surveys to measure the attitudes of employees who use Facebook in three different organisations and look at how this influences their working relationships. FINDINGS: The findings in this study support the idea that Facebook does have an effect on co-worker relationships. The research undertaken shows that Facebook causes increased levels of annoyance amongst employees. However, despite this; if used in a respectful manner, co-workers that have colleagues as Facebook friends can in fact strengthen their working relationship. RESEARCH IMPLICATIONS: The variables in this study are self-reported. This means they are subject to the normal limitations of cross-sectional survey research. PRACTICAL IMPLICATION: This study will help organisations to improve their understanding of the influence Facebook has on their employees. This research can be used as guidance on the proper use of Facebook, which should help to minimise the levels of annoyance amongst employees and strengthen their working relationships. ORIGINALITY/VALUE: No research on this issue has been undertaken in Sweden before and so this study aims to alert organisations and provide them with the appropriate knowledge of how communication over social media impacts the relationships between their employees. PROGRAM: The Program for Information and Communication studies. LOCATION: Linnaeus University, Växjö DATE OF SUBMISSION: 2016-06-10 ASSESSOR: Eva Lundberg KEYWORDS: Co-worker relationship ∙ Social media ∙ Facebook ∙ Organisational research

Prospero: En idealtyp för Generation Z : En konstruktion av en framtida organisation / Prospero: An ideal type for Generation Z : The construction of a future organization

Hallqvist, Philip, Hedenmalm, Jon, Marante Ferreira, Pierre January 2016 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to, through interpretation and analysis of values and attitudes of Generation Z, construct an ideal type of organization, which can be used as a tool for the understanding of how organizations could look like in the future to accommodate Generation Z.   Methodology: An interview study that addresses the topic of generational research from an organizational perspective. The study was conducted with an inductive approach and a qualitative method.   Conclusions: From Generation Z's spoken values and attitudes a paradox emerged. Generation Z valued conflicting aspects of working life. The result of the study is therefore the ideal type “Prospero”, which is based on Generation Z's spoken values and attitudes. A dual-sided organizational structure that combines hierarchical order and structure with an ad hoc creativity. The workday is divided between the two sides, this transition is controlled by the punch clock “Miranda”.

När PBS kom till byn : Berättelser om erfarenheter av ProblemBaserad Skolutveckling

Åstrand, Annika January 2009 (has links)
This thesis presents a study on different school actors’ narratives about how they have experienced a participation in a school development collaboration called PBS, problem based school development. A school development and research project based at Karlstad University. The analysis is inspired by a narrative approach and a critical perspective on policy, were policy is understood as both text and discourse. The aim of the study is to show how the carrying through of this new policy (PBS) is received and reconstructed in three Swedish municipal settings. In the analysis the participant’s narratives are also related to the reconstructions of the field of education politics that has been carried out the last decades, here in Sweden as well as in other countries around the world. In this study 46 interviews were carried out. Official texts from each of the three school organizations have also been studied. As analytical tools parts of a model called the zoom-model and three different concepts, taken from the field of organization studies have been used. The overall result shows that those who work in schools today are engaged in a large amount of development works, claims and ways of working that they themselves choose to enact. The results also show how the interviewees receive and charge these ideas with their own previous experiences and how this is done in discursive contexts that shape what is considered normal and evident. One conclusion is that further attention ought to be made to the significance of the local context when it comes to carry through a new idea on development and change. A conclusion drawn from how interpretations and reconstructions of both development models prior to PBS and of the national steering model came to play important roles in how PBS was received and reconstructed in the studied municipalities. But different interpretations of the PBS model also led to tensions within and between the different areas of the organizations. Tensions that can be described as dilemmas, implicated by an ongoing cacophony of policy voices, whose prescriptions pull on different directions. When the PBS-policy arrives in this discursive room the results show how this policy can become a tool in line with new discursive narratives of education, regardless the intensions formulated in the context of policy text construction. / PBS-Problembaserad skolutveckling

Vad är meningen med det? : En kvalitativ studie om vad Generation Y i Sverige upplever som meningsfullt arbete / What’s the meaning? : A qualitative study about how Generation Y experiences meaningful work

Nilsson, Sofia, Nygren, Kajsa January 2018 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of how Generation Y in Sweden experiences meaningful work. The results of the study aims to create a model that will increase the understanding of how meaningful work can be created at the workplace from Generation Y:s perspective. Methodology: An interview study that addresses the topic of generational research from an individual and organizational perspective. The study was conducted with an inductive research approach and a qualitative research method. Conclusions: Our study found that there are some differences within workplace expectations between Generation Y in Sweden and foreign research on Generation Y.
