Darbo tikslas – sukurti specializuotą modeliavimo aplinką, skirtą organizacijos struktūros specifikavimui. Tipinė organizacija yra suskirstyta į padalinius, kuriuose dirba darbuotojai, kuriems priskirta viena ar kita pareigybė ir atlieka įvairius vaidmenis organizacijos projektuose. Analitinė modeliavimo kalbų ir įrankių apžvalga parodė, kad vieningo būdo specifikuoti organizacijos struktūrą nėra. Daugeliu atveju organizacijos struktūra modeliuojama neformaliomis diagramomis, kurias sudėtinga analizuoti ir atnaujinti. Darbe siūlomas nesudėtingas organizacijos struktūros meta modelis bei jo realizacija UML profiliu. Naudojantis MagicDraw UML įrankio funkcinėmis savybėmis – stereotipų adaptavimu, validavimo taisyklėmis bei ataskaitų generavimu – sukurta specializuota organizacijų struktūros modeliavimo aplinka. Praktinė sukurtos aplinkos vertė pademonstruota taikant ją konkrečios organizacijos UAB “Baltijos programinė įranga” struktūros modeliavimui. / The goal of this thesis is to create a specialized modeling environment for defining organization structures. A typical organization defines some organization units, has a number of employees that are assigned to a specific organization unit, play a specific role in an organization and may be involved in projects to play different roles. The research of modeling tools and languages shows that there is no single dominant approach to modeling organization structure, and in most cases it is modeled informally, which makes it difficult to analyze and maintain. This thesis proposes a simple meta-model covering the most important organization structure concepts and their mappings to UML profile. A specialized environment for modeling organization structures is created using MagicDraw UML tool features – stereotype customizations, validation rules, and report generation. For demonstrating the practical value of the created environment, modeling the structure of a real organization Baltijos programine iranga is presented.

A Resolução 3.380 do Banco Central do Brasil, de 29 de junho de 2006, determina que, até o final de 2007, todas as instituições autorizadas a funcionar pela referida Autarquia deverão implementar estrutura de gerenciamento do risco operacional, representando mais um passo no processo de adesão do Brasil ao Novo Acordo de Capitais da Basiléia. Os objetivos desta dissertação são estudar o processo de estruturação de unidade de gestão de riscos operacionais e identificar referencial teórico que permita embasar a estruturação de unidades de gestão de risco operacional em bancos. De modo a atingir os objetivos propostos, foi realizado estudo de caso exploratório de um banco escolhido em função de sua representatividade no cenário nacional. Os resultados da pesquisa sugerem que o referencial teórico sobre estruturas organizacionais pode ser muito útil na estruturação de unidades de gestão de riscos operacionais em bancos, devido ao fato do arcabouço conceitual sobre unidades de gestão de riscos operacionais ainda ser muito incipiente. / The resolution 3380 of the Brazilian Central Bank, as of June 29th 2006, determines that, until the end of 2007, all authorized institutions must implement an operational risk management structure, representing another step in the brazilian compliance process to the New Basel Capital Accord. The objectives of this work are to study the structuring process of an operational risk management unit and to identify theoretical references to support this structuring process in banks. In order to achieve the considered objectives, a case study was conducted on a bank chosen in function to its relevance in the national scene. The results of the research suggest that the theoretical references on organizational structures can be very useful in structuring operational risk management units in banks, due to the fact that theoretical background on operational risk management units are still incipient.

The prolific use of social media tools such as blogs and wikis is leading several organizations to adopt these tools. However, success of social media depends on its use by employees to share and seek knowledge. Based on a unique data set obtained from a large multi-national corporation, I examined three different aspects of knowledge seeking and sharing. First, I investigated two-sided network externalities on seeking and sharing. My analysis shows that significant network externalities occur not only at the demand side, which has been the primary focus in prior literature, but also at the supply as well as cross-sides (from supply to demand as well as from demand to supply). Second, I also explored the impact of hierarchical and geographical distribution on knowledge seeking and sharing. My results show that how a firm is structurally organized can yield different influences on the use of corporate social media based on whether the employee is seeking or sharing. Finally, I investigated the impact of social capital. New insights are captured in how different dimensions of social capital influence employee use of corporate social media for seeking and sharing knowledge within the organization. / Business Administration/Management Information Systems

En farledsrestriktion innebär att vissa krav eller begänsningar sätts på fartygs manöverförmåga, antal assisterande bogserbåtar, största djupgående och liknande egenskaper för att få färdas i en specifik farled. Innan 2009 låg uppgiften att ta fram dessa restriktioner på Sjöfartsverket och det tillhörande Sjöfartsinspektionen. År 2009 bildades Transportstyrelsen och övertog då vissa delar av processen. Detta arbete handlar om vad denna omorganisation har fått för effekter på arbetsprocessen och dess resultat utifrån vad de som idag jobbar med den upplever. En kvalitativ intervjustudie med semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med ett antal individer som dagligen arbetar med denna process. Resultatet målar upp bilden av en arbetsprocess som genomgått mindre förändringar men som på många sätt fortfarande är sig lik. De tillfrågade beskriver små skillnader i det praktiska, dagliga arbetet och den kommunikation som detta arbete kräver, men beskriver också en situation där förändringsarbetet fortfarande upplevs pågå och där vanor kring arbetsrutiner på många sätt lever kvar. / When entering a fairway in Swedish waters, vessels are affected by various restrictions. These restrictions are related to the draught of the vessel, its maneuvering capabilities and other factors which affect its capability to be conducted in a safe manner when inside the fairway. Prior to 2009, these restrictions were implemented by Sjöfartsverket (the Swedish Maritime Agency). In 2009, Transportstyrelsen (the Swedish Transport Agency) was created and took on the responsibility for some parts of the process behind developing these restrictions. In this study the focus is on the effects of this reorganization on the process itself from the viewpoint of those who are working with it. A qualitative study using interviews was conducted with people who are in daily contact with this work. The result shows a process that has undergone minor changes but is also in many ways still similar. The participants in this study describe smaller differences in the practical, daily work and the communication that this work requires, but they also paint a picture of a situation where the change is still happening and where old routines and habits still influence their work.

The thesis is based on the theoretical principles of learning organizations established especially by Peter M. Senge. The actual status of the learning organization was diagnosed by the questionnaire survey in the following areas: the organization structure (flexibility, information sharing, and teamwork); processes (management and skills knowledge, information technology); culture (leadership, learning support, and feedback - evaluation); stimulation (strategy, personal development, motivation). Author provides an analysis of the data obtained in the questionnaire research (including 117 respondents of Houses of children and youth in Prague). The turmoil of the financial industry emphasizes the importance of effective risk management procedures. Consequently, this thesis studies<em> “</em><em>What are the critical success factors for effective risk management procedures in financial industries?</em><em>”</em> This research question was formulated in order to gain a better understanding of risk management procedures and to examine the critical success factors for effective risk management procedures.</p><p>To explore the importance of critical success factors in a practical context, we used the quantitative method of a self-completion questionnaire in order to collect data from a selection of financial institutions in Thailand. Financial institutions include banks, the stock exchange, insurance, stock securities, asset management and so on. Due to the fact that top-level management is directly responsible for risk management, the target groups included a range of positions from supervisors to board of directors.</p><p>This research found a set of seven critical success factors which can be used as a guideline on how to increase the effectiveness of risk management procedures.
