"Educação e comunicação: pelas vias de uma didática da obra de arte" / Education and Comunication - for the ways of a Didactics of the Master Piece

Pougy, Eliana Gomes Pereira 17 March 2006 (has links)
This is about a theorical research, built on educational-philosophical basis, viewing to analyse the know-power device of the didactics and propose the epitemological basis to the construction of a Didactics of the Master Piece. From the post structuralism perspective, outlining Michel Foucault´s production, I tried to find some compositional conditions that produced the person that teaches as someone who depends on the communication and its means to transmit clear and true messages. I isolated a historical series formed by the Bible, by the Didactica Magna of Comenius, by Emile of Rousseau and by the Democracy and Education of Dewey, understanding them as speeches that share, despite of their specificities and diferent objects, the same general paradigm, according to wich is structured the scientific knowledge of the communication. Following the ideas of Focault I also searched the effects of this descriptions in reality, mainly relating to the form in wich these descriptions appear in their materiality. I concluded that in spite of the specificities of each one of the pedagogical theories there is an aspect present in all of them: the communication paradigm as message transmission, and consequently, the idea of a noise as exception to the rule. The communication paradigm that understands the noise as exception makes part of another paradigm more powerful and stronger, that has always been present in western thinking. The disjunction paradigm that proclaims the separation and the dichotomization between subject and object of knowledge, that proclaims the language as representation of the real and does not comprehend all the complexity of the human thinking. However, the noise makes part of a communication process not as an exception, but as a rule. As such, has its specificity and an active part in the communicational process. Because of this, also from the post structuralist perspective, outlining the production of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, I suggest the epitemological basis to the construction of a Didactics of the Master Piece. For this I rescued the ideas from Deleuze and Guattari on language, the word of order and the non grammatical language; the ideas from Maturana and Varella relating to the learning, the autopoiese, and the ideas of Pierre Lévy on inteligence, the collective inteligence. According to me , just like Deleuze affirmed that there is a pedagogy that comes from the Concept, there is the Didactics that comes from the Master Piece. This didactics can help us undesrtand the moments in wich the process of teaching and learning happens between the caos and the knowledge, in the world of noise and the sense construction. It is mainly caracterized by comprehending the inter-teaching

Ambivalence identity: kulturní tradice jako téma v současném českém a slovenském umění / Ambivalence of Identity: Cultural Traditions As a Theme in Contemporary Czech and Slovak Art

Maixner, Miroslav January 2020 (has links)
The dissertation focuses on the phenomenon of a new presence of references to traditional folk culture in contemporary Czech and Slovak art. Emphasis is placed on the period from the year 2000 to the present. The core of the work consists of chapters devoted to artists who in this period significantly thematized various aspects of traditional folk culture, either as a partial element of specific projects or in the form of continuous interest in the field. The essence of this part is to show the breadth and heterogeneity of the examined manifestations across the media spectrum. The main purpose of the work is to analyze and place the researched phenomena in a relevant context within the theory and history of art. The reason is their different nature from thematically similar manifestations in the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition, when compared with current trends abroad, a number of connections are shown, such as links to environmental issues, criticism of the state of society and, above all, to new issues related to personal and collective identification. Therefore, I base the analysis of these phenomena on a hybrid interdisciplinary basis using theoretical approaches to identity in the social sciences and humanities. I do so in the introductory theoretical chapters, but the main focus is on the final analytical synthesis. To a large extent, it also builds on data obtained from interviews with artists, the transcripts of which the reader will find in the appendix. Finally, the documentation of curatorial projects and exhibitions realized as a practical part of the dissertation project is attached.

Porovnání různých metod nelineárního výpočtu konstrukcí s hlediska rychlosti, přesnosti a robustnosti. / Comparison of various methods for nonlinear analysis of structures from the point of view of speed, accuracy and robustness.

Bravenec, Ladislav January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to compare the iterative methods which program RFEM 5 uses the non-linear calculations of structures, namely the analysis of large deformations and post critical analysis. Comparison should serve as a basis for which calculation method is the most accurate, fastest and most reliable in terms of getting results. Time-consuming will be judged according to the calculation of the solution and the time needed to compute one iterativ. Robustness we will compare the reliability of methods in in normal use. Accuracy of the calculation will be determined by comparing the maximum deformation structures. Comparison will be made with examples from practice.

The Role of Literature in Character Education: On the Formation of the Modern 'Self' in Contemporary Liberal Schooling

Skripnik, Svetlana January 2022 (has links)
With the liberalisation of the society and education in the Western Countries, new development horizons have emerged thus altering our expectations from the younger generation and our vision of human fulfilment and happiness. As Dewey stressed, the current advance of technology and democratic ways of life results in the unprecedented rate and speed of changes and ‘it is impossible to foretell definitely just what civilization will be twenty years from now. Hence it is impossible to prepare the child for any precise set of conditions. To prepare him for the future life means to give him command of himself; it means so to train him that he will have the full and ready use of all his capacities’ (Dewey, 1897, p.77). This prompted many educational policies in Western Countries to resort to character education as a long-term solution to the tensions between the demands on the child to succeed in tougher market-led society and the necessity to foster a democratic citizen of the globalised world (The US Partnerships in Character Education Program, 1994; Strategic Plan, 2002; Character Education Framework, 2019).  However, the recurring instances of school violence and shooting (Schaeffer, 1999, p. 2), and the turmoil of incessant military conflicts around the world expose the failure of current policies to foster a modern ‘self’ that would sustain the humanity rather than just democracy, thus making the current goals and priorities sensitive to criticism.    This paper takes on the topic of character education in liberal school setting and views it in a broader sense as part of formation of the modern ‘self’ in liberal society as opposed to traditional Aristotelian reading through virtue ethics and moral character. By studying the current character education policies in the USA, UK, European Union and Sweden, the first chapter of the thesis demonstrates the instrumentality of character education and prioritising educating for citizenship and democratic values. This paper sets to contest this approach to character education and proposes to adopt the idea of The Love of the World advanced as the guiding principle of education by Naomi Hodgson, Joris Vlieghe and Piotr Zamojski in their Manifesto for a Post-Critical Pedagogy (2017) as opposed to ‘educating for….’ formular predominant in the policies. The Manifesto offers the banner but does not elaborate on the content and how to attain the goals. The aim of this thesis is to commence to fill this gap. Carefully laying out the concepts of conservative, liberal and critical theories of education related to character formation, this paper analyses their strengths and week points and consolidates in ‘My Creed’ section what it considers the worthwhile postulates that would help to design character education governed by The Love of the World. Resorting to the educating power of literature I address the question of ‘How to foster character in liberal schooling of today’ when the child and what is good in the world replace the current slogans of educating for citizenry and democracy.

Making Manifest : Grounding Islam

Josephson, Alexander 18 December 2009 (has links)
The Caveat For many reasons, names have had to be concealed within this document. The events depicted are real and the discussions true. This is an attempt to legitimize the informal, seemingly mundane and sometimes personal: the author’s experiences bringing a folly to the physical, while trespassing into a new world: Islam. This thesis documents a series of interventions at different scales within that world. There is a book, the chair, and the city of Makkah. The events themselves are superimposed onto the traditional language, or professional conventions, used to justify them. Here, they are relegated to the margins of each page. This is akin to how some of the first books were produced, by students in the confines of dark cloisters or hot desert temples, struggling to maintain historical integrity while fighting the natural tendencies of youth. Their master’s voices always looking over the gutter from the opposite page. The sketches for a new Makkah and a monumental demonstration in Canada unfold in parallel to a body of formal research. Together, as seemingly independently as they are, they paint the portrait of an Islam, while building a personality between the lines. That being said: there isn’t a correct way to read it.
