This study explores black African migrants' experience of racism in Berlin, today. Its vantage point is that of a missiological discipline. Since racism is a very complex phenomenon, both in the church and society; the study therefore, adopted a multidisciplinary approach. This helps us to better understand the different theoretical nuances, which inform racism as an ideology and, as a social construct. Against this backdrop, the study engaged the “pastoral cycle” (cycle of missionary praxis) by Holland and Henriot and developed by Cochrane et al as its theological framework. The research methodology consisted of data collection, interpreting and analyzing (comparing and contrasting primary sources in light of data collected). Personal narratives of research participants' experience of racism in a semi-structured format, formed part of the methodology, in establishing ecclesiastical, political, social and structural climate on how they contribute to the way that black African migrants experience racism in Berlin, today. The subject of social involvement though, still under debate and being pursued by the Church of Jesus Christ even this time around has not wholly been appreciated by most Pentecostals. This is despite the fact that some of the early Pentecostals, including the early Church as seen from the ‘Acts of the Apostles’ chose to pursue social dimension of the gospel in addition to the Church’s mandate of ‘pure evangelism.’ Although social involvement has been at the very heart of Pentecostal theology, traditionally speaking, PAOG (Z), being one of the Pentecostal groupings has been seen to place much emphasis on ‘pure evangelism’, rather than ‘embracing’ both forms of missional dimensions. However, this trend is slowly changing as observed from the social involvements that some of its congregations and institutions are currently undertaking. This study views that part of the reason for the lack of an all-round social involvement’ by all the PAOG (Z) congregations lies in its theology of mission and thus critically examines it. The other aspect is the non-utilization or recognition of known professions of clergies that could normally enhance social involvement in most of its congregations. Next it makes an in-depth study of one PAOG (Z) - PAOC run projects and few congregations for the purpose of doing a social impact assessment, which has shown positive impacts in the communities that these projects are being undertaken. The study also reveals that the lack of clear constitutional guidelines concerning this has contributed to the absence of social programs in most of its churches resulting in not having a strong ‘social’ voice compared to the Catholic Church. Aus dem Vorwort: "Bereits zum siebten Mal findet der Workshop „GeNeMe - Gemeinschaften in Neuen Medien“ mit einer Vielzahl interessanter Beiträge in folgenden Rubriken statt: • Praxis, Visionen, Trends und Chancen von GeNeMe (eingeladene Vorträge), • Konzepte, Geschäfts- und Betreibermodelle von GeNeMe, • E-Learning in GeNeMe, • Anwendungen und Praxisbeispiele von GeNeMe und • Soziologische, psychologische, personalwirtschaftliche, didaktische und rechtliche Aspekte von GeNeMe. Aufgrund der Bedeutung des Themas, der Resonanz auf den Call-for-Proposal und der Beschränkungen, die bez. des zeitlichen Rahmens des Workshops bestanden, konnten trotz hoher Qualität leider nur etwa die Hälfte der eingereichten Beiträge Berücksichtigung finden. Das Interesse am Thema GeNeMe ist sowohl in der Forschung wie auch in der Praxis weiterhin sehr groß. Dies zeigt die Breite der zur Diskussion gestellten Themen und eingereichten Beiträge."

Nunmehr zum achten Male liegt ein Sammelband zum Workshop "GeNeMe – Gemeinschaften in Neuen Medien“ vor, der Beiträge zu folgenden Themenfeldern enthält: • Konzepte für GeNeMe (Geschäfts-, Betriebs- und Architektur-Modelle), • IT-Unterstützung (Portale, Plattformen, Engines) von GeNeMe, • E-Learning in GeNeMe, • Wissensmanagement in GeNeMe, • Anwendungen und Praxisbeispiele von GeNeMe und • Soziologische, psychologische, personalwirtschaftliche, didaktische und rechtliche Aspekte von GeNeMe. Sie wurden aus einem breiten Angebot interessanter und qualitativ hochwertiger Beiträge zu dieser Tagung ausgewählt. Das Interesse am Thema GeNeMe (Virtuelle Unternehmen, Virtuelle Gemeinschaften etc.) und das Diskussionsangebot von Ergebnissen zu diesem Thema sind im Lichte dieser Tagung also ungebrochen und weiterhin sehr groß. Die thematischen Schwerpunkte entsprechen aktuellen Arbeiten und Fragestellungen in der Forschung wie auch der Praxis. Dabei ist die explizite Diskussion von Geschäfts- und Betreibermodellen für GeNeMe, insbesondere bei der aktuellen gesamtwirtschaftlichen Lage, zeitgemäß und essentiell für ein Bestehen der Konzepte und Anwendungen für und in GeNeMe. In zunehmendem Maße rücken weiterhin auch Fragen nach den Erfolgsfaktoren und deren Wechselbeziehungen zu soziologischen, psychologischen, personalwirtschaftlichen, didaktischen und rechtlichen Aspekten in den Mittelpunkt. Deshalb wurde hierzu ein entsprechender Schwerpunkt in der Tagung beibehalten. Konzepte und Anwendungen für GeNeMe bilden entsprechend der Intention der Tagung auch weiterhin den traditionellen Kern und werden dem Anspruch auch in diesem Jahr gerecht. Die Tagung richtet sich in gleichem Maße an Wissenschaftler wie auch Praktiker, die sich über den aktuellen Stand der Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der GeNeMe informieren möchten.

La crédibilité des Églises évangéliques a été mise à rudes épreuves par les temps qui courent si l’on se fie à ce qui est rapporté autant dans la presse écrite que dans la presse parlée à la grandeur du pays. L’un des principaux facteurs alimentant la quasi totalité des opinions négatives sur ces lieux réputés être « lieu de la rencontre entre les croyants et le Divin », c’est le manque de rigueur dans la gestion de leurs différentes activités. En dépit des rumeurs et des soupçons, certaines Églises essaient de se démarquer des mauvaises pratiques qui ne font que miner la réputation de la plupart d’entre elles. Afin d’amener les lecteurs sur des pistes éclairantes, je vais problématiser et proposer, de façon succincte, les différentes étapes du contrôle de gestion dans une Église évangélique grâce à l’observation et à l’analyse de cette pratique. Mon observation portera sur une Église, en particulier, qui en est à sa douzième année de fonctionnement et qui connaît une importante croissance au fil du temps. En tant que Pasteur de cette Église, tout en m’inspirant de mes expériences personnelles dans la gestion de diverses équipes d’employés dans la Société de Transport de Montréal (STM) , je vais esquisser les grands traits des valeurs privilégiées qui ont été à la base de ce succès. / If it is possible to trust the information reported as much in the print media as in the speaking press in our days, to the size of the country, the credibility of the evangelic Churches was put in hard test. When we consider what has been identified to be as one of the man factors feeding most of the negative opinions on these renowned places to be « space of the meeting between believers and the Divine », it is the rigorous lack in the management of their various activities. We are agreed to say that in spite of the rumours and the suspicious certain Churches are trying the best of what to be done in order to distance themselves from bad practices which are undermining the reputation of most of them. My intent is to bring the readers on enlightening tracks by proposing briefly the various steps of the strategic management control in an Evangelic Church through the observation and the analysis of this practice. That observation will set its focus on a particular Church, which is in its twelfth year of functioning and which now experiencing an important growth over the time. As Pastor of this organization I will try to refer to my managerial working experience with several teams of employees in the « Société de Transport de Montréal » (STM)2 in order to outline the privileged values which were at the root of this success.
