Legal Boundaries : Women's Reproductive Self-determination Rights Versus Fetus's Right to Life. – An Analysis on Georgia Fetal Heartbeat Bill. (H.B.481)

Wokekoro, Victor Dike January 2021 (has links)
Through the fetal heartbeat House-Bill-481, Georgia (U.S) has taken a Pro-life stance on the constitutionally enshrined women's reproductive self-determination rights versus the proposed fetus's right to life by banning abortion after six weeks of gestation. The purpose of this research was to analyze how rights are debated in the media, argued in the bill, and presented in the litigation against the bill using a thematic analysis approach guided by the concept of rights. The findings showed that Pro-choice sees the bill as an infringement of women's rights while Pro-life see it as recognizing the proposed fetus's right to life and personhood.

Prezentace časování sloves v přítomném čase v učebnicích češtiny pro cizince (pro rusky mluvící studenty) / Presentation of Czech Conjugation in Present Tense in Textbooks of Czech for Foreigners (for Russian Speaking Students)

Namestnikova, Svetlana January 2021 (has links)
(in English): The master's thesis deals with the question of how verb conjugation is presented in selected Czech textbooks for Russian-speaking students. It focuses on the way selected teaching materials classify Czech verbs and introduce their conjugation. The verb classification used in textbooks is compared with that in grammar books for native Czech speakers and that in grammar books for foreigners. and with CEFR recommendations for Czech at A1 and A2 levels. Each of the analyzed textbooks presents a system of Czech verbs in their own way. There is no unified approach to the classification of verbs. The systems used in textbooks differ between those in grammar books for native speakers and in those for foreigners. The aim of the work is to reveal similarities and differences in the classification and presentation of verbs in selected textbooks. The analysis of the gaps in the presentation of verb classes in present tense can be useful in the creation of teaching materials.

Modelling of Crude Oil Distillation / Modellering av råoljedestillation

Souck, Jenny January 2012 (has links)
In the reservoir conditions, a petroleum fluid is defined by its thermodynamic and volumetric properties and by its physicochemical properties. Their behaviors are modeled from experimental data in order to properly simulate the processing of these fluids during the production.   With the advent of new regulations and rigidity that exist at the custom regulations today, research centers have great difficulty in obtaining large amounts of samples. For these reason, although there are several methods to characterize the different components of crude oil, the laboratories are turning increasingly to techniques that requires lower amounts of samples: micro-distillation, gas chromatography (GC).   The micro-distillation is a fast and completely computerized technique made to substitute the standard distillation for analysis of liquid petroleum products. Advantages of the method compared to the standard distillation are the reduction of working time by at least a factor of 4, the small sample volumes required for distillation (few micro liters). [24]   This report is aimed to create a simple model that can predict yield curves of physical distillation, without using the micro-distillation technique. The results obtained through gas chromatography (GC) analysis by laboratory technicians enable the modeling of the fluid behavior. Having identified and treated practically all aspects of micro-distillation through simulations with PRO/II, I found out that, regardless of the setting and the thermodynamic method used, there are always significant differences between simulation results and those of the micro-distillation.   The result shows that it’s still difficult to create a model which can replace micro-distillation and gas chromatography (GC) because of the huge gap between the simulation results and micro-distillation. Furthermore, the dynamics revealed that the micro distillation is not accurate. I had hoped to get additional results by studies the correlations with more samples, but that did not turn out to be the case. Regardless of that, I think that it would be interesting to study more samples and use another simulator to properly represent micro distillation. This could be an interesting topic for further studies.

Values and employees' voluntary pro-environmental behaviour in small, medium and micro enterprises in Polokwane Municipality

Motebejane, Kabelo Nankie January 2022 (has links)
Thesis (M.Com. (Business Management)) -- University of Limpopo, 2022 / The primary objective of the study was to examine the effect of values (biospheric values, altruistic values, egoistic values and openness to change values) on voluntary pro-environmental behaviour of employees of SMMEs.In addition, the study investigated the moderating effect of demographic variables (gender, age and level of education) in the relationship between values and pro-environmental behaviour. The quantitative approach was utilised and the cross-sectional survey method was used to collect data from the respondents that were conveniently sampled. The Cronbach’s alpha was used to measure reliability and the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS SEM) was utilised to analyse data. The findings of the study indicated that biospheric values has a negative relationship with employees’ voluntary proenvironmental behaviour. Three values (altruistic, egoistic and openness to change values) have significant positive relationships with voluntary pro-environmental behaviour of employees. The moderating effects of gender, age and level of education are insignificant. Recommendations on how to use values to improve the voluntary pro-environmental behaviour of employees of SMMEs are outlined.

Perspectives of Pro-revivalism: The Christian History and the Great Awakening

Brown, Lisa Thurston 12 March 2004 (has links) (PDF)
The Christian History was a pro-revivalist magazine printed in Boston from 1743-1745 during what is known as the Great Awakening. It contained accounts of revivalism written by pro-revivalist ministers from throughout the American colonies, England and Scotland. These ministers believed that the Holy Spirit was being poured out upon the land in a shower of grace, causing unprecedented numbers of people to convert to Christ. In The Christian History, pro-revivalist ministers expressed their support for the revivals and shared their experiences. Thus the magazine has typically been viewed as religious propaganda advocating a single, polemical viewpoint. However, in spite of its pro-revival stance, The Christian History contains a spectrum of ideas pertaining to theology, religious history and the controversial issues that surfaced during the Awakening. For instance, although revival supporters sought to defend the Awakening as an authentic outpouring of God's grace, they did not all agree on how to handle the revivals. When it came to the "errors of doctrine" and "disorders of practice" that surfaced during the Awakening -- things like Antinomianism, bodily manifestations and itinerancy -- Christian History ministers responded differently. Though they sought to form a more uniform policy regarding these issues and others in a pro-revival ministerial meeting, in the end their opinions and reactions were shaped by their personal experiences with the revivals. In spite of their differing views regarding errors and disorders, Christian History ministers evaluated and contextualized the revivals similarly. In their revival narratives they frequently drew upon the Bible to explain and support their pro-revival stance. Some also used historical precedents as tropes for demonstrating that aspects of revivalism were perhaps unusual, but not thoroughly new. Most, however, sought to legitimize the revivals by describing their positive social qualities. For example, they wrote how tavern-going and neighborly contentions decreased, whereas occasions for religious worship multiplied. These "good fruits" of revivalism, asserted Christian History contributors, showed that the Awakening had changed the "face" of society for the better and was therefore an authentic outpouring of God's grace.

[en] PRO-EXISTENCE: A KEY THEOLOGICAL TERM IN THE CHRISTOLOGY OF JOSEPH RATZINGER / [pt] PRÓ-EXISTÊNCIA: UMA CHAVE TEOLÓGICA NA CRISTOLOGIA DE JOSEPH RATZINGER

EVERALDO BON ROBERT 25 March 2021 (has links)
[en] Benedict XVI, in his work Jesus of Nazareth: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection , published in 2011, stated that the preposition for is the key word to understand the mystery of Christ and the meaning of following him, as it introduces the concept of pro-existence into theology. This present thesis aims to study how it appears and what place the concept of pro-existence occupies in the Christological work of Joseph Ratzinger. Structured in four explanatory chapters, this research proposes several preliminary considerations in the First Chapter. In the Second one, the survey exposes the manifestation of God as pro-existing throughout history. In the Third Chapter, the foundations of pro-existence are summarized on Jesus and his revelation, in the Trinitarian mystery. The Last Chapter presents the pro-existence in the sacrifice offered by Jesus on the cross. The suggested path underlies the claims of Jesus of Nazareth . The biblical term for leads the concept of pro-existence into theology: Jesus life was distinguished as an existence all engaged towards the Father and lived for the salvation of mankind. From the revelation of Jesus Christ, one is led to know the intra-Trinitarian pro-existence, and, at the same time, to consider the pro-existence of man as a person and a Christian. The height of Christ s surrender to the Father and to humanity took place in the mystery of the cross. Since Christ is the constituent element of the Christian being, one will find oneself and one s own salvation in responding to Christ s saving offer on the cross. In a concrete way, the human being will discover oneself and be saved by reproducing in a fundamental attitude that characterized the person and behavior of Jesus: living in a pro-existing way his confident and obedient surrender to the Father, and, at the same time, a solicitous love towards others.

Kvalitetsjämförelse av markmodeller skapade med digital fotogrammetri : En jämförelse av mätosäkerhet på markmodeller med bilder ifrån olika UAVs / Quality comparison of surface models created by digital photogrammetry : An accuracy comparison of terrain models using photos from two different UAV models

Sebastian, Olsson January 2022 (has links)
In recent years, the technical progress of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) has increased rapidly. This has made it economically possible for tasks where one earlier needed helicopters or airplanes. By equipping UAVs with high-quality cameras, the utility has expanded. With detailed photos from a UAV together with digital photogrammetry, special software can be used to create point clouds, 3D-models, elevation models and ortomosaics over smaller geographic areas.  Due to the easy access and that the use of UAVs has increased among private users, the Swedish transport agency has set up rules that determine how UAVs should be used. In these regulations, UAVs are separated into different groups from A1 to A3 based on the weight of the aircraft. The regulations make it illegal to fly a UAV heavier than 250 g over people who are not informed about the flight. Since there are several industries where it could be interesting to fly over people, DJI has manufactured a UAV-model called DJI Mini 2. This UAV weighs 249 g and can therefore be flown over people. In this project, two different flights have been carried out. One with the DJI Mini 2 weighing 249 g and one with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro weighing just under 1 kg. During the flight, overlapping pictures were captured and orthomosaic and elevation models were created from those. The purpose of the project was to investigate if the same accuracy can be achieved with a mini-UAV as with a larger UAV. The study also investigated whether the models were accurate enough to use as a ground model along roads and railroads.  In the Dronelink software, two different flight routs were created over Örsholmens IP in the eastern part of Karlstad, Sweden. Dronelink created the flightpath based on the UAVs different specifications and the overlap between images that were acquired. A geodetic control network was created using GNSS-technology. Five points were measured twice with 45 minutes in between and calculated in SBG GEO. The next day, a surveying total station was established centrally between the points in the geodetic control network. Thereafter 19 ground control points were measured, and 398 ground points distributed in 20 different control profiles. After the points were measured, the flights were carried out. A total of two flights by each UAV model were made the same day. Then the flight with the best results were used for further processing.  The photos taken were processed in Agisoft Metashape. In the software, point clouds, elevation models and orthomosaic were created. The elevation model was then compared to the measured control profiles. The orthomosaic was used to compare the ground control points.  The results showed that the elevation model created with Mavic 2 Pro was within the SIS tolerance on all different types of surfaces to be used for modelling along roads and railways. The elevation model from the DJI Mini 2 was withing the tolerance on grass and asphalt but not on gravel surface. The mean deviation on gravel was -1,37 cm outside the tolerance. The planar comparison showed that both models were withing the tolerance to achieve HMK level 3 standard. Därefter mättes 19 markstöd in och 398 punkter fördelat i 20 olika kontrollprofiler.

Bondesson, Anton, Wessman, Lisa January 2022 (has links)
The Swedish power grid is facing challenging times to cope with the transition to green renewable energy and to ensure safe and sustainable transportation through the country. The need to upkeep with maintenance and reconstruction as well as construction of new power lines requires planning and overhead power lines require extensive areas of safe zones below the power lines. In the planning stage of these streaks there are multiple areas of interest that require careful consideration and therefore evaluations of the area of interest are necessary. This bachelor thesis aims to develop a prototype for an automated tool in the initial suite selection of possible streaks for new power lines. The project is done in collaboration with NEKTAB who want to investigate the potential of developing their own tool for standardized evaluations of suite selections and to reduce workload. By utilizing multicriteria analysis (MCA) and geographical information systems (GIS), two software packages are used and compared, i.e. FME and ArcGIS Pro. Prototypes are developed from a reference project Eon is working on alongside NEKTAB. A sophisticated weighting system to evaluate areas of interest against each other is designed using the weighing method SWING and MCA-method weighted linear combination (WLC). The two prototypes from the software are compared through grid comparisons and by utilizing a predefined classification. The results show limited differences between the software though greater disparity when it comes to stability and the capability to manage larger amounts of data. The conclusions of the development and comparisons of the software and results show that both are capable in managing large amounts of data and accomplish the task, though the stability and functions are better within FME thus being more suitable for further optimization. Further development is required as the prototypes still do not manage all the requested features. Further developments are also required with the weighing system to meet expectations on a larger scale with more local and national areas of interest.
