O mar e a beleza moderna: uma análise do pequeno poema em prosa \'O Porto\', de Charles Baudelaire / The sea and the modern beauty: an analysis of the prose poem Le Port, by Charles Baudelaire

Nas poesias do francês Charles Baudelaire a imagem marinha é recorrente, seja como duplo que reflete a subjetividade humana, espaço de fuga do árido cotidiano urbano, paralelo da amada ou ainda um espaço de incomparável beleza. Em um de seus manuscritos, o poeta afirma que o espetáculo do mar oferece uma ideia de infinito diminutivo, pois uma porção do líquido em movimento é suficiente para dar a mais elevada ideia de beleza que pode ser oferecida ao homem em sua habitação transitória. Assim, este trabalho pretende fazer uma análise crítica do pequeno poema em prosa O Porto, integrante do volume póstumo O Spleen de Paris, para examinar de que maneira o motivo marinho transfigura-se em um infinito diminutivo e, assim, promove sentimentos do belo e do sublime questões fundamentais para a estética do autor em uma poesia autônoma, que encerra sob sua harmonia e homogeneidade fraturas específicas do sujeito moderno. Por meio da comparação com outros pequenos poemas em prosa e em verso que abordam o elemento marítimo, manuscritos e textos estéticos do poeta, bem como a fortuna crítica acerca da obra baudelaireana e estudos filosóficos que conceituam o belo e o sublime no âmbito da estética, a presente análise procura verificar como este curto O Porto se vale do tópico marítimo e, sob o traje do pequeno poema em prosa e da composição de um sofisticado engenho alegórico, oferece ao leitor vislumbres intensamente líricos da beleza moderna criada por Baudelaire. / In Charles Baudelaires poems, the maritime images are recurrent, either as a double that reflects the human subjectivity, as an escape from the arid urban space, as the beloved portrait, or as a space of incomparable beauty. In one of Baudelaires manuscripts, he affirms that the spectacle of the sea offers the idea of the infinite diminutive: twelve or fourteen leagues of liquid in movement are enough to convey the highest ideal of beauty which is offered to man in his transitory habitation. Therefore, this work aims to critically analyze the prose poem The Port, part of the posthumous edition Paris Spleen, to verify how the maritime motive becomes the infinite diminutive and, thus, promotes the feeling of the beautiful and sublime fundamental questions to the authors aesthetic in an autonomous poetry, that under its harmony shows specific fractures of the modern individual. Comparing The Port with other prose poems and also with some Les Fleurs du Mal poems that mentions the maritime element, manuscripts and aesthetic texts written by the poet as well as Baudelaires critical fortune and philosophical studies that define the beautiful and the sublime, this analyses aims to verify how this short The Port addresses the maritime topic and, under the garment of the prose poem and the sophisticated allegorical procedure, offers to the reader deep lyrical glimpses of the modern beauty created by Charles Baudelaire.

Cette thèse propose une approche globale des Déserts de l’Amour de Rimbaud. Étant donné les nombreuses incertitudes véhiculées par l’œuvre, une étude de son manuscrit autographe s’impose tout d’abord, étude visant à établir l’ordre des feuillets, l’établissement du texte, la date de transcription par une expertise en écritures, mais encore à évaluer son degré d’achèvement, l’éventualité de détenir en l’état un manuscrit complet et déterminer enfin l’auteur de la numérotation atypique des feuillets. L’approche générique, après être revenue sur la notion même de genre et ses implications, s’appliquera à définir le caractère générique du récit de rêve puis problématisera le genre formel des Déserts de l’Amour à partir d’une réflexion sur le poème en prose. Dans le souci d’une approche générique contextuelle seront abordés plusieurs auteurs représentatifs de nos deux genres (Nodier, Bertrand, Nerval) et plus particulièrement le Baudelaire des Petits Poëmes en prose. Nous proposerons enfin une lecture, un commentaire littéraire détaillé des Déserts de l’Amour. / This thesis proposes a global approach to The Deserts of Love. Given the many uncertainties surrounding this text, the prerequisite for its analysis is the exploration of Rimbaud’s manuscript, to prove the order of the folios, to provide an accurate text, to establish its date of transcription by a diachronic study of the poet’s handwriting ; the ambition is also to judge the extent to which this is a finished work, whether the known text is complete and, lastly, to determine the source of the untypical numbering of the folios. After examining the concept of genre and its implications, the generic approach will seek to define the generic status of the dream narrative and then problematise the formal genre of The Deserts of Love on the basis of a reflexion on the subject of the prose poem. The need to contextualise this generic approach requires the analysis of several representative authors in the two generic fields involved (Nodier, Bertrand, Nerval) and in particular of the Baudelaire of the Petits Poëmes en prose. The thesis concludes with a detailed literary commentary of The Deserts of Love.

La littérature persane est surtout connue en Occident par les excellentes traductions en français d'illustres poètes classiques comme Omar Khayyam, Roumi, Hafîz. Genre majeur de la littérature persane, la poésie s'impose pendant des siècles avec ses règles draconiennes de prosodie et de versification. Dans les années 1930, une jeune génération de poètes, sensibles aux transformations sociales, politiques, culturelles et ayant découvert la poésie et la littérature occidentales, s'est engagée dans une lutte systématique contre ces règles intangibles. Le pionnier de ce mouvement est Nimâ Yshij. Il rejette les règles de la poésie classique, aussi bien en ce qui concerne la métrique que la place de la rime. Ahmad Shâmlu, disciple de Nimâ, va plus loin en refusant même la prosodie. En rupture permanente, Shâmlu a marqué la poésie moderne persane, par son œuvre, par ses idées et par ses attitudes. Soucieux des événements de son temps et de sa société, ce poète, traducteur et directeur de revues, a lutté toute sa vie pour ses idéaux humanistes. Une anthologie de ses œuvres traduites en français permettra de faire découvrir aux amateurs ce grand poète persan moderne et contemporain. / Persian literature is best known in the West by the excellent French translations of famous classical poets like Omar Khayyam, Rumi, Hafeez. As a major genre of Persian literature, poetry has for centuries imposed draconian rules of prosody and versification. In the 1930s, younger generation of poets, sensitive to social, political and cultural changes, discovered Western poetry and literature, and engaged in a systamtic struggle against these intangible rules. the pioneer of this movment in Nima Yshij. Her rejected the rules of classical potry, where both versification and rhyme are concerned. Ahmad Shâmlu, a disciple of Nima, goes even further by refusing prosody. Breaking constantly with traditon, Shâmlu has left his mark on modern Persian poetry, in his work, and by his ideas and attitudes. Mindful of the events of his time and of his life for his humanistic ideals. An antthology of his works translatedinto French will enable poetry-lovers to discover this great modern contemporary Persian poet.
