This survey covers the Region of Greater ABC, and is based in the tradition of research regarding Psychology as a profession during the last thirty years. The analysis of research data is accomplished via four defined categories based on the exercise of this profession in the UBS's: 1) the environment of services provided, from the individual to the collective; 2) services provided in consultation in a public institution; 3) emphasis on work that includes the range between the "curative" and the preventive; 4) area of actuation, from mental health to the psychology of health. The results presented are based on thirty-eight interviews realized with psychologists of the UBS's of the Region of Greater ABC, during the year 2002, that bring to light the difficulties involved with these activities. Political, economic and social difficulties, that are independent of the desires of the professionals, are noted. Beyond these factors, difficulties related to professional training and the understanding of the role and function of the psychologist in the UBS's are identified.

Taktické přístupy k osobám zasaženým mimořádnými událostmi - psychologické aspekty / Tactical attitudes to the person affected by abnormal events - psychological aspects

GRECHOVÁ, Michaela January 2013 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is Tactical attitudes to the person affected by abnormal events - psychological aspects; it deals with the psychological aid to persons affected by abnormal events. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on defining the basic applied terminology and its target which is: ? Mapping the present methods of psychological aid during the timely care of persons affected by abnormal events in the Czech Republic. The practical part has two goals: ? Mapping the present state and the possible development of psychological aid provided in connection with abnormal events from the viewpoint of psychologists of individual components of the Integrated Rescue System (IZS). ? Mapping the needs, values and strategies of mastering the situation by psychologists of IZS components in view of abnormal event In connection with the research target, 6 research questions were formulated. The research part of the thesis is focused on psychologists of the main components of IZS. It tries to summarize their experience, opinions, standpoints, reservations, and also needs and strategies of mastering the situation in connection with providing psychological aid in the early stage after the abnormal event. The qualitative research is implemented in the thesis by the method of questionnaire investigation with 16 open questions. Data collection was done in the form of a phone talk with several respondents, questionnaire method is combined with the method of structured talk. The investigated sample consists of 11 respondents ? psychologists of the main IZS components. 7 respondents were firemen (HZS ? Fire Rescue Service), 3 policemen (CR Police) and one psychologist of ZZS (Medical Rescue Service). The answers of individual respondents were recorded and the complete transcriptions of answers are stated in Annexes to thesis. The acquired data were interpreted by the author in the way representing the answers to research questions. To achieve a well arranged result, this interpretation was summarized into several points from which the results of research follow which are discussed in more detail in the following chapter. It was found out in the answers to research questions: ? What drawbacks are seen by IZS psychologist in the present system of providing psychological aid to persons affected by MU (abnormal events), ? Which aspects of the psychological aid provided to persons affected by MU are considered for well-functioning by the psychologist ? What possibilities of future development are seen by IZS psychologists in the field of psychological aid to persons affected by MU ? According to IZS psychologists, by what factors are limited other targets and development of the psychological aid to persons affected by MU ? What values, needs and mastering strategies and sources are applied by psychologist in connection with interventions during and after abnormal events ? What methods of psychological aid are applied by the addressed IZS psychologists during the early care of persons affected by MU? The chapter Discussion contains a more detailed analysis of results. During the research performance, other not formulated questions occurred concerning not completely clear or not defined border between the psychological and psychosocial aid which the thesis tries to determine. It may be stated in the end that the research questions were answered in the practical part of thesis. The research questions were formulated in such a way that the answers on them represent the base for SWOT analysis of the system of providing psychological aid by IZS components. I believe for this reason, it may be utilized not only for study purposes.

Made available in DSpace on 2016-06-02T20:30:11Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 6792.pdf: 12810361 bytes, checksum: 652c5b3b2e53c96e691c13281d5d958c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-04-02 / Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais / This thesis involves a compilation of scientific texts and comprises four manuscripts: one book chapter and three Journal papers. Such texts are articulated in order to structure the theoretical support, the development and evaluation of an intervention program to mothers who use corporal punishment, suggesting improvements for future research. The definition of corporal punishment was initially presented, as well as a brief overview of this disciplinary practice in Brazil, identifying strategies to curb and prevent it. A systematic review the Brazilian and international literature on parenting programs focused on the prevention of corporal punishment follows, suggesting the need to develop more programs on this theme with solid methodological rigor. In sequence, the sociodemographic profile, history of violence and disciplinary practices of 40 mothers who use corporal punishment was determined, finding that the mothers justified the physical violence towards the children by nervousness , demonstrating an urgent need to receive specialized guidance. Finally, the program involving Project Parceria s second Unit on Positive Parenting of Children was described in detail, including technological resources: coaching and videofeedback of videotaped mother-child interaction sessions, in a randomized controlled trial. Significant positive results in the post-test measures of mothers in the experimental group were observed in comparison to the control group, regarding decrease of depression scores, increase of children's strengths, as well as diminished behavior problems and hyperactivity. In addition, there was a significant improvement in mother-child positive interaction measured in observation sessions at post-test.

O caso clínico de Isadora: a intervenção psicológica na primeira crise psicótica / The Isadora clinical case: psychological intervention at the first psychotic crisis

Guiomar Marques Gouveia de Melo 04 June 2001 (has links)
The objective of this research is to demonstrate that psychological intervention during the first psychotic crisis can sinificantly help the therapist in his clinical work. The Case Study, object of this research, entitled The Isadora Clinical Case, was inspired by our clinical psychotherapeutic work with a young patient. During this clinical psychoterapeutic process we discovered the importance of the psychological intervention, when the psychotic patient, in her first crisis, receives psychological help simultaneously with the psychiatric treatment. Utilizing the strategy of the psychological intervention right from the first psychotic crisis, it was possible to minimize its desasterous effects on the patients personality. The implementation of this research was possible due to the patient narratives during psychotherapeutic sessions, as well from everything she wrote about her dreams and her delirius. We collected the data that seemed most important and, from this clinical material, we proceeded with a psychoanalytic reading, using as theoretical reference Freuds doutrine and the comments of some of Lacans disciples. We hope that this research will show how the psychotic patient, after psychological intervention, becomes less resistent to the psychotherapeutic process, which will help to rebuild his inner world, in more favorable conditions, having improved his defense system, his capacity to relate to reality, and also, with the persons that form his surrouding world that he tries to live with

O clube dos saberes no hospital: análise institucional de uma intervenção / The Clube dos Saberes in hospital: institutional analysis of an intervention.

Fernanda de Barros Machado Borges 14 April 2009 (has links)
The object of this research is to analyze, using institutional analysis as a reference, the experience of the Clube dos Saberes, ( Club of knowledge ) or CS, the instrument of an institutional intervention in a private psychiatric hospital in the city of São Paulo between the years of 2001 and 2005. The hospital is a two pronged institution, which has a hierarchicalpyramidal organization with characteristics of an asylum. The CS is a network of relationships formed by the exchange of knowledge and experiences between a collective, that organizes democratically and aims for a personal and individual growth as well as the growth of the collective. This instrument is offered to the hospital as a possibility of overcoming a crisis through the inoculation of a new culture of treatment, of new forms of relationship, of new ways of functioning and organization. The research involved, at first, rebuilding the history of this experience through the memory of the participant-researcher, and through written records, later there was the selection of passages of this history that had the quality of analyzer. The analysis showed that although of the CS represented a hope of change and a chance of overcoming the crisis in the hospital, it suffered resistance from the part of the team and it faced several obstacles: a participation of small significance from the staff in the development of the CS; limited or distorted apprehension of the project; low effectiveness of the established partnerships; the persistence and aggravation of the characteristics of the hospital as an asylum; The predominance of the organization in detriment of the clinic and a greater attention to the financial health of the hospital then the health of its agents ( staff and patients ). In conclusion we find that the development of the CS was significantly hindered by the lack of a space for an institutional analysis and its own alienation.

Migrantes em trânsito entre Brasil e Japão: uma intervenção psicossocial no retorno / Migrants in transit between Brazil and Japan: a psychosocial intervention in the return

Laura Satoe Ueno 21 May 2008 (has links)
The purpose of the present study is to present and assess a brief psychosocial intervention with a group of Japanese-Brazilians who lived in Japan and returned to Brazil. Their return process and cultural representations of Brazil and Japan are explored. Theoretically the work is based on contributions from cross-cultural psychology and psychoanalytic concepts and techniques. Group participants generally felt return migration as difficult and expressed outrage towards Brazil´s present political, economic and social system, in addition to feeling like foreigners, unassertiveness and disorientation. Collective symbolic representations of Brazil as a country of warm human relations and Japan as a country of high technology and education also emerged, loaded with personal aspects, according to the unique experiences each one had. Reflective, informative and dynamic techniques such as preparation of posters, exhibition of theoretical concepts, display and discussion of a documentary migration between Brazil and Japan were useful tools, enabling the group to name their own distress. The area of continence and interlocution in this group helped identify processes where issues concerning conflicting experiences in the return and cultural identity could become objects of reflection and transformation. The findings indicate the contribution of such psycho-social intervention in the psychological process of the migratory experience, and the need to approach cultural styles and the social context in investigations in this area.

Metalinguagem e alfabetização: efeitos de uma intervenção para recuperação de alunos com dificuldades na aprendizagem da linguagem escrita / Metalanguage and Literacy: effects of an intervention for recovering of students with difficulties in the written language learning

Neusa Lopes Bispo Diniz 28 March 2008 (has links)
There are strong empirical evidences in the specialized literature regarding the relationship between reading and writing skills and metalinguistic skills. However, there is still little research that analyzes the effects of interventions, especially with speakers of Brazilian Portuguese. This research investigated the influence of an intervention program, based on activities focused on the development of awareness of formal and structural aspects of the language, with a view to the field of metaphonological and metasyntactical skills on the development of reading and writing skills. The survey had an experimental type delineation carried out with an experimental group and a control group in three phases: pre-test and posttest for all participants and intervention for the experimental group in the classroom. Forty four children of both gender of the second year of the public elementary education, aged from 08 to 12 years, took part in this survey. The children were from two regular classrooms in which they had diversity in terms of performance in the literacy process. Some of them already dominated the writing system, but many of them didnt have this domain. It was accomplished collective application of writing valuation tasks and single application of reading, phonological awareness and syntactical awareness valuation tasks before and after the intervention. The intervention consisted of 16 sessions of collective application of metaphonological ludic activities and 15 sessions of metasyntactical ludic activities. The data were submitted to the Students T test. The results showed that there were significant differences, comparing the pre-test and post-test means, to the tasks of words writing, reading and metaphonological and metasyntactical skills. Both groups made a significant upgrade in tasks of reading and metasyntactical skills. It is concluded that the effectiveness of the intervention program has an important pedagogical implication as it shows that it is possible to recover lateness in written language in children of the early years of elementary education through training in phonological awareness, grapheme-phoneme matching and syntactical awareness in actual circumstances of the classroom.

The use of Gestalt therapy as an alternative assessment technique with primary school girls who have been sexually abused

Oelofsen, Melanie 19 November 2007 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the use of Gestalt therapy as an alternative assessment technique with two primary school girls who have been sexually abused. The empirical study of limited extent, was qualitative in nature and conducted from the interpretivist paradigm. I used two in-depth clinical case studies situated within the context of psychotherapy outcome research as research design. I developed and implemented alternative assessment based on Gestalt therapy and employed observation, interviews, informal discussions, analysis of documentation, a reflective diary, field notes and visual data (photographs and original media) as data collection and documentation methods. I purposefully selected two primary school girls who have been sexually abused as participants in the study. The findings of the study were, firstly, that Gestalt therapy could be used as an effective alternative assessment technique with the target participants as it seemingly provided a safe setting to express emotions, fears and needs related to the trauma of sexual abuse. In this regard, a finding was that the primary participants had to deal with challenging emotions including anxiety, fear, aggression, anger, hatred, rage, sadness and depression. A related finding was that they experienced a need for love, unconditional acceptance, support and protection. Similarly, the study found that they also displayed negative behaviour such as inadequate social behaviour, restlessness and withdrawal from challenging social situations. Most importantly, utilising this mode of assessment rendered insight into the defence mechanisms they employed such as denial, avoidance, suppression and escapism. Secondly, alternative assessments based on Gestalt therapy seemed to have a positive effect on both participants, as indicated by change during and after the process of assessment in terms of emotions, behaviour and the use of defence mechanisms. / Dissertation (MEd (Educational Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Educational Psychology / MEd / unrestricted
