Determinantes para a adoção de práticas ambientais responsáveis: estudo de caso em um empreendimento agrícola / Determinants for adoption of responsible environmental practices: a case study in an agricultural enterpriseJulia Cavalheri Tittoto 03 July 2014 (has links)
This research aimed to identify the determinants for adoption of responsible environmental practices in an agricultural enterprise. To achieve the proposed objectives, a case study was conducted in a large agricultural enterprise, Condomínio Agrícola Santa Izabel (Jaboticabal- SP), whose main activity is focused on the production of sugarcane and can be considered as an example to other organizations in the rural areas, since adopting crop rotation (with soybean), conservation system, integrated pest management and biological control, application of fertilizers in variable rate, recovery of riparian forests and the treatment of waste generated in the production. Among the characteristics of the producer were identified as determinants: schooling, culture and experience, membership of the cooperative or association, family income, the guidance for profit and environmental awareness. Among the features of the practice: technology testing, cost of opportunity, compatibility and specificity, observability, complexity and credibility. Among the characteristics of the business: what is produced, the size of the area of production, human capital, financial capital, organizational structure, organizational values and policies, profitability, additional income and quality of production. And among the characteristics of the external environment: care with natural resources, supplier relationships, community/society relationship, competition, access to extension agents and universities, cooperation, corporate image and encouragement of shareholders. A better understanding of the determinants helps to identify what are the challenges to adoption of these practices and the development of strategies that encourage greater adoption among agricultural enterprises in Brazil.

Les filles du café : Anthropologie de la fabrique du sujet dagongmei et de son empowerment, Kunming province du Yunnan, Chine / The girls from the coffee shop : Anthropology of the making and the empowerment of the dagongmei subject, Kunming Yunnan province, ChinaDesplain, Aurélia 14 December 2017 (has links)
Literally "little sister working for a boss", the term dagongmei refers to the unskilled, unmarried, often coming from rural areas female labor force, migrating out of their villages, sometimes out of their province to find a job. The dagongmei represent a category of precarious workers easily interchangeable produced by China's economic development policies over the past four decades. Since the 1990s, the media coverage of scandals on working conditions of dagong subjects increased in China and internationally, calling on companies to rethink their social role. On the other hand, considering the socio-economic and political inequalities that determine the current paths of Chinese women, the government adopts a positioning that is resolutely in favor of women's empowerment. This thesis focuses on a group of young women from rural villages in Yunnan province who are employed in Kunming in a foreign-owned enterprise that defines itself as socially responsible and empowering its employees. If the project of modernity and globality of China has shaped new subjects-workers dagongmei and dagongzai, by the transformation of bodies of rural migrants into bodies of industrial workers, what subjects dagongmei a socially responsible enterprise project to contribute to produce? How can we think of the processes of individualisation within subaltern groups from a perspective that takes into account the gendered relations?

The information accuracy of SRI markets : A comparative study between SRI-screening firms and Auditing firmsRicard-Bourget, Catherine January 2010 (has links)
The sustainability of Social Responsible Investments (SRI) markets is highly dependent on the accuracy of social and environmental information. Surprisingly, and in contrast to financial information, there exists no methodological standard for gathering social and environmental information in SRI markets. This work is a first contribution to the understanding of how SRI-analysts verify the accuracy of social and environmental information. A second aim of this thesis is to evaluate if SRI-analysts can produce an accurate output with their respective methodologies. To do so, a case study was performed comparing the assessment of social and environmental information at SRI-screening firms to the more regulated financial auditing process, using legal a categorization of evidence strengths as a model. The findings of this study suggest that practices are not standardized amongst SRI-analysts. Therefore, investors are unlikely to receive an equal degree of information accuracy from one analyst to the next. Moreover, when comparing SRI-screening and financial auditing using the legal categorization of evidence, it was found that screening firms tend to produce outputs that are less carefully verified than seen in their financial counterparts. Nevertheless, the findings also reveal that SRI-analysts generally acknowledge the importance of assessing sources of evidence when controlling information accuracy. In conclusion, a standardized methodology should be welcomed by SRI-analysts, and the legal categorization of evidence strengths could be a good starting point to manage information accuracy in their screening process.

Professional Development for Teachers through Collective Work. : An Approach to the Plan of Training for an Appropriate Use of Digital Technology in Secondary School.Fernandez, Gilles 24 September 2015 (has links)
For several years, the uses of the new digital technologies have grown up in the social practice. Their command appears as an aim to train the French students’ career. This search proposes both an aid to think of the secondary school teachers’ commitment in the project to attend a session course on the digital technology and also on the public dimension which follows on from and which participates in their professional development. The double analysis that is proposed allows to get declarative and meaningful elements in relation to the actions which are carried out, some specific features linked to the subjects and the variety of ways to run schools. These elements are completed by an observation of groups of teachers communicating about their practice. Our report tries to focus the advantages of the work in groups in the teachers’ professional development and it shows the diversity of resources in schools. It emphasizes that these types of projects have to be guided by well-trained managers who are conscious of the different issues.

Gender diversified board’s impact on firm performance and stock volatility : A quantitative study examining Swedish, Danish and Finnish listed firmsJohannesson, Gustav, Westport, Martin January 2017 (has links)
Board gender diversity has been on the corporate agenda for several years, despite numerous gender diversity initiatives around the EU-Member States, women remain underrepresented in the boardroom. There is an intense debate and the problem is frequently raised and discussed by politicians, journalists, shareholders and investors. The thesis examines if gender diversity in the boardroom has any significant effects on firm performance and stock volatility based on 318 firm-year observations with firms listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, Copenhagen Stock Exchange and Helsinki Stock Exchange from 2013 to 2015. The authors find no significant relationship between gender diversified board and firm performance for the overall sample at any conventional level. However, the authors find a positive and statistically significant relationship between gender diversified board and firm performance for only Swedish firms, measured by Tobin’s q. Furthermore, the empirical findings from the relationship between board gender diversity and stock volatility using 1 272 firm-quarter observations, are statistical significant and shows that firms with high gender diversified board have lower stock volatility compared to firms with low gender diversified board.

Činitelé vedoucí spotřebitelé k ekologicky a společensky zodpovědnému chování / Factors leading consumers to environmentally and socially responsible behaviourDescubes, Irena January 2009 (has links)
What are the key antecedents, factors and moderators that influence environmentally friendly and socially responsible consumer behaviour? Individual consumers buy products and services not only for their intrinsic satisfactory functionalities. They make their consumption choices also because of specific extrinsic products/service abilities to affirm their lifestyle choice, i.e. enhance their self-concepts and satisfy their psychological needs. Given that despite the recent increase of interest in sustainable consumer behaviour, little is known on sustainable consumer aspirations, this study aims at filling the research gap in this area of academic research. This study investigates ad hoc literature in Lifestyle Strategic Marketing, Branding, Social Psychology and Self-Concept Theory applicable in Green and Fair Trade Operational Marketing . Mixed research methods are used in three distinct studies: (a) laboratory experiment, (b) SurveyMonkeyTM online questionnaire analyzed quantitatively, and (c) SPSS and SEM software data management and analysis. They are conducted in France and based on the common research models, i.e. the Theory of reasoned action (TRA) founded by Fishbein & Ajzen (1975) and the Theory of planned behaviour (TPB) coined by Ajzen (1991). Specific attitudes towards environmentally friendly and fair-trade products and services are derived from Value sets, Awareness of Consequences beliefs and Environmental Concern evaluations; therefore in the third partial study we adapt the research model proposed by Hansla et al. (2008). In all of them is employed a convenience sampling method that allows to gather between 109 and 350 respondents. Results allow for identification of salient factors influencing consumer purchasing intention and willingness to adopt and pay for both environmentally friendly and socially responsible products and/or services.
