Konsultrollen / Konsultrollen

Borgström, Rasmus January 2012 (has links)
This thesis examines the professional role of management consultants. The thesis is based on empirical data gathered from interviews with management consultants froma consultant agency in Sweden as well as an interview with a representative from oneof the agency’s customers. The purpose of this study is to examine the professionalrole of the management consultants in their relations with the customer groups theyare hired to educate. To answer the purpose I have used theory’s concerning,Concepts & translation, role theory, and interaction ritual theory. The result of thestudy shows that the consultants view their own performance as vital for the successof their work together with the customer groups. If the consultants fail to beconvincing and inspiring they see a little chance for their methods to be implementedin their costumer’s organisation. Keywords: consultant, management consultant, roles, translation, concept.

Delle, Erica January 2009 (has links)

Skating like a Derby Girl : Relationen mellan kropp, genus och klass

Lundin, Emma January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to study how the use of the body in roller derby is related to gender and social class. The investigation is based on five qualitative interviews as well as seven observations of practices and games (bouts). The theoretical frame is founded on theories by Young (2005) to get an understanding of women´s use of the body, Skeggs (2000) to relate femininity and respectability to class, as well as Bourdieu (1984), both as a background for Skeggs (2000) theory, as well as giving an understanding of the relation between participating in sports and social class position. The investigation demonstrates, among other things, that the derby girls do not identify with the positions they find within sports and the informants have also changed their view on and relation to their own body through roller derby. The informants have also been able to demonstrate to others, as well as themselves, that their bodies do manage challengeable physical exercise. Bruises are physical capital within roller derby and a sign of criticism against the respectable femininity entering other fields. The informants brake the female pattern of movement Young (2005) identify, at the same time as the “outside world” reminds them of their position as women related to the respectable femininity norm (Skeggs, 2000) they do not identify with. The informants express a position as outsiders, both within the sports world as well as not fitting in the respectable femininity norm, which is expressed through roller derby. The derby players are trying to find a place where they fit from the position of women and hence also from the social class perspective, in relation to that roller derby is a source of capital as well as the capital brought in matters.

Bengtsson Edgren, Helena January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the study was to describe parents' experiences of empty nest. The sample consisted of individuals who had experienced one child moving out of the parental home. Data were collected through qualitative semi-structured interviews and were analyzed by using thematic analysis. The thematic analysis revealed four themes, Concerns about the new time in life, Changing roles, Socializing in the family and Testing the relations. Due to the themes participants' stories reveal anxiety facing the time that will come when children takes the step to leave the nest. The experiences of the children moving out changed over time as well as the phases of the process to reach a new identity follows a progression. The relationship within the family is changing with new ways to communicate and socialize. This affects the parental relationship and leads to deeper relationship or in the direction of a separation. One conclusion is that mental preparation in the context and the time before moving out leads to positive experiences, which contributed to the relocation of a whole experienced as positive even if it starts with concern. Parents who discuss the new situation of life and prepare for changes improve the relationship.

Design Analysis of Roller Coasters

Hunt, Kristen 23 April 2018 (has links)
Each year 300 million people ride roller coasters at amusement parks across the United States. Although they are meant for joy and entertainment, the design is very crucial and regulated. Understanding the interaction between components and humans can help create a more thrilling and safer ride. This study researched the design of the course and the structural supports. A unique roller coaster was designed, investigating the relationship between velocity and G forces. With the profile design complete, the corresponding forces resulting from the track and train weight and train movement were calculated to determine the required dimensions of the structural support columns. This work investigated the relationship between the features of the roller coaster and the material properties of the structural supports, determining which are most impactful for the loading conditions. These results can be used to determine the required properties of a roller coaster’s structural system to maximize the material usage to minimize resources and cost.
